(AllHipHop News) Last August BET’s Stephen Hill had many in the Hip Hop world rejoicing when he tweeted that André 3000 planned to release a new solo album in early 2014. Dré’s team quickly came out and stated that “there is no official confirmation on that report.”

The project clearly did not make its way into stores during the first half of the year, but there are now reports that the reclusive emcee is back in the studio. According to Hip Hop Weekly, 3000 confirmed with reporters at the Governors Ball Festival in New York City this weekend that he was working on new music, but Dré added that he was not rushing to release his work.
After hearing the news one media member joked, “I’ll believe it when I hear it.” André reportedly responded by laughing and nodding.
André 3000 united with his OutKast partner Big Boi for several festival dates in 2014. The Atlanta duo headlined the Friday night events at Governors Ball.
Kast’s last official album was 2006’s Idlewild, but Dré has appeared as a featured artist on songs by Beyoncé, Jeezy, Drake, Frank Ocean, Lil Wayne, T.I., Rick Ross, and Future over the last few years.
