During a concert December 5, legendary singer Stevie Wonder took time out from a packed show to address the non-indictments of the officers involved in the cases of Eric Garner and Michael Brown before going into a performance of “Living For The City.”
Held at the Oracle in Oakland, California, also in attendance were India Arie, Oakland native Sheila E. and a surprise appearance from comedian Dave Chappelle.
Well known for his social activism via music, Wonder explained “You mean to tell me, two grand jury decisions in two weeks, and you can’t get one fair decision…right now is some bullsh*t.” He then went on to remind everyone that “Black lives matter,” “All lives matter.”
