Birdman isn’t the only one settling in on Lil’ Wayne’s bad side. As fans await Weezy’s Tha Carter V, Young Thug has jumped the gun and decided to drop Carter Six. Thugger took to Instagram to unveil the cover art and announced the Apr. 17th release date.
The “Stoner” rapper says that fulfilling the Carter series is his way of saluting Wayne because the YM general feels “like after Tha Carter V, he ain’t gon’ make no more music ’cause he feel like can’t nobody make no music like that.” Wayne doesn’t take it as a compliment though.
He took a subtle shot at Thugger during a Young Money cypher when he rapped “Young motherf—ing Money / These my motherf—king brothers not my f—ing hubbies,” referring to how Young calls his homies his “hubbies.”
Wayne has yet to comment on someone else releasing the Carter Six before he dropped Tha Carter V.
