Will Smith and Jay Z are teaming up to bring the story of Emmett Till to the small screen in a miniseries. Entertainment Weekly reports that the two will be producing the miniseries for HBO along with Aaron Kaplan, James Lassiter and Jay Brown.
Emmett Till was murdered in 1955 in Mississippi at the age of 14 after reportedly flirting with a white woman. His killers, J.W Milam and Roy Bryant were acquitted of his murder and admitted to being guilty after the trial.

Production companies Roc Nation, Kapital Entertainment and Overbrook will be handling the series. No writers have been chosen for the project yet.
This will be the second time Till’s story is being told, as PBS aired a documentary, The Murder of Emmett Till, in 2003.
