(AllHipHop News) N.W.A is joining Grandmaster Flash and The Furious Five, Run-D.M.C., Beastie Boys, and Public Enemy as the only Hip Hop acts to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame. The announcement was made this morning that the iconic West Coast group was chosen for the Class of 2016.

Along with N.W.A, the ’16 inductees include Steve Miller, Chicago, Cheap Trick, and Deep Purple. International superstar Janet Jackson was nominated this year, but the R&B/Pop singer did not earn enough votes to be selected.
The huge success of the N.W.A biopic Straight Outta Compton may have played a role in the group finally making it into the Hall. N.W.A was also nominated in 2013, but the F. Gary Gray directed movie about their rise in the music business was a commercial and critical hit this year.
Dr. Dre, Eazy-E, Ice Cube, DJ Yella and MC Ren along with the rest of the class of 2016 will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame during a ceremony held in New York on April 8.
