Hip Hop Hall Of Fame Awards TV Show To Announce 2017 Inductees At Harlem Press Conference

HHHOF FOUNDER: HIP HOP DOESN’T NEED TO BE VALIDATED BY ANY OTHER HALL OF FAME BUT ITS OWN

(AllHipHop News) A press conference for the Official Hip Hop Hall of Fame Awards TV Show is scheduled to take place in Harlem, New York next week.

The 2017 HHHOF inductees will be announced by their peers at the legendary Sylvia’s Restaurant on Wednesday, June 21.

In addition, the event will host an Old School Brunch as well as feature a presentation of the Community Service and Appreciation Awards to community and educational leaders.

“We are excited to return to Harlem where it all began 20 years ago at Sylvia’s Also Restaurant,” states show Creator/Executive Producer JT Thompson. “The Hip Hop Hall of Fame Museum’s Old School Brunch was the launch of the first ever Hip Hop Hall of Fame Awards TV Show where we announced the Inductees that Included DJ Kool Herc the God-Father of Hip Hop, DJ Grandmaster Flash, The Zulu Nation, Run-D.M.C. & Jam Master Jay, Kool DJ Red Alert, Eazy E, as many more Hip Hop pioneers and legends were in building that day, as the Hip Hop Hall of Fame made ‘Old School Hip Hop’ cool.”

This year’s “Institutional Inductees’” were previously announced.

Those honorees include actor/activist and BeatStreet producer Harry Belafonte, Sal Abbatiello and the Disco Fever, Sylvia Robinson and Sugar Hill Records, Bobby Robinson’s Enjoy Records, Harlem’s Mike & Dave Records, as well as Bronx photographer Joe Conzo.

Each of the 2017 Inductees will be enshrined in the Hip Hop Hall of Fame + Museum which recently won a bid to acquire a building and development site in Harlem.

As the founder/chairman of the HHHOF, Thompson adds, “Make no mistake about it. The Hip Hop Hall of Fame is the standard, and this year’s 20th Anniversary Induction Ceremony is going to give Hip Hop music and culture its place of prominence like the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame or any other Hall of Fame in the World. Hip Hop has its own place in history and does not need to be validated by any other Hall of Fame but its own.”

The Official Hip Hop Hall of Fame Awards TV Show is scheduled for Friday, September 15 at the United Palace Theater.

A Red Carpet and VIP Mixer will begin at 5 pm with the 20th Anniversary Induction Ceremony & Concert starting at 8 pm.

Matt Smith (Rap City) is producing the show with former Bad Boy Entertainment record producer Tony Dofat serving as music director.

“It is an honor to make history again as we celebrate those who have come before us to create this national and international music and cultural phenomenon known as Hip Hop,” says HHHOF Awards TV Show’s co-producer Kenny “DJ Lord Yoda X” Syder.

Producers for the show are in talks with broadcasters and sponsors about airing the taped event on national television.
