Wendy Williams Has Graves Disease Recrudesce; Show On Hiatus

(AllHipHop News) Wendy Williams has been put under doctor’s orders to cease live tapings of her hit daytime talk show over a Graves disease flare-up.

According to a statement from her spokesperson, Wendy’s medical team are pushing for the precautionary action:

“Recently, Wendy has been dealing with symptoms from her Graves’ disease which is causing fatigue. In consultation with her doctor and as a precautionary measure, she will be taking some time off as she continues to receive treatment,” a spokesperson for the show says in a statement to Variety. “We look forward to welcoming Wendy back soon and continuing the ‘Wendy@Home’ shows. More updates on a return date will follow.”

The radio host turned TV maven first announced that she was diagnosed with the disease in 2018. The condition causes her immune system to compromise her thyroid.

According the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, Graves’ disease is an autoimmune disorder or overactive thyroid.

With this disease, your immune system attacks the thyroid and causes it to make more thyroid hormone than your body needs.

The thyroid is a small, butterfly-shaped gland in the front of your neck. Thyroid hormones control how your body uses energy, so they affect nearly every organ in your body—even the way your heartbeats.

Since the pandemic, The Wendy Williams Show has been filming remote episodes from her New York City home. Those tapings will stop for about one week. A return date has not been set, at this time.

Old episodes will air, while the show is on hiatus.

Hip-Hop Producer Hassan Shareef Releases Hot New Music

As a teenager Hassan was intrigued by the game and started a music group with some friends. While most teenage boys in New York, where hip hop was born and evolving, had a lot of fun with the craft, Hassan started to take his interest more seriously.

Through bumping elbows and just being aware of his surroundings, Hassan met and started shadowing Lenny S. and Burt Bazin, Director of Bad Boys street team at the time. This led to the production end of music becoming captivating to Hassan and sparking an interest in a real career in the industry.

“Two things that I have learned in this industry is that it’s all about relationships and everyone and their mother is trying to get on,” he says. Proving his statement, Hassan landed an assistant A&R position at Roc-A-Fella Records through his relationship with Lenny S. and Burt Bazin who also held positions at the label.

Spending time working with the hottest label of the time, Hassan was in the company of and working with artists like Memphis Bleek, Beanie Sigel, and Cam’ron. Hassan eventually went on to open his own company, Mad Large Music, a production company and entertainment consulting firm with the assistance of his long time friends Larry Payne and Ali. Expanding his resume, the company went on to work on film soundtracks like Rucker Park and one of hip hop’s favorite films, State Property.

These days Hassan is still keeping up with the ever-changing music industry. Located on 81st and York on the Upper East Side, Hassan now owns and manages The Mastering House/Black Magic Studios based in New York. The company specializes in mixing, mastering, and recording. Names like Sevyn Streeter, Mack Wild, Cassidy, and Gunplay come by the studio to record and work. Alongside his resume in the hip hop world, Hassan has also done music scores for video games like Grand Theft Auto 5 & 6 (Rockstar Games) as well as working with the game series, Halo.

Hassan Shareef is someone who turned their passion into their life through music and is now committed to helping others do the same. For the upcoming year Hassan is setting up major concerts series throughout the country with Bryson Tiller, Kendrick Lamar, and Future to name a few.

He also recently bumped into one of the hottest and most stand out female rappers of this generation, Cardi B, and is currently developing a working relationship with her. Heading into the new year, Hassan is also looking to release new projects from his own artists King Bone, Loud Pack Team, Vittorioso, Fivio Foreign, Riz, DKing & S.Deniro.

Quavo Takes Advantage Of Lockdown To Graduate From High School

(AllHipHop News) Quavo celebrated his high school graduation on Friday with an at-home photoshoot in his robe and mortarboard.

The 29-year-old Migos star posted a series of snaps of himself in the purple ensemble on his Instagram page, writing alongside them: “Finally Can Say I Graduated High School Class Of 2020. We Lit. Now What College Should I Go To?”

A post shared by AllHipHop (@allhiphopcom)

Quavo attended Berkmar High School in Lilburn, Georgia, where he enjoyed a hugely successful run as a quarterback but reportedly dropped out just months before his graduation to turn his attention to music full-time.

Following his post, hordes of his celebrity friends congratulated Quavo on his achievement, with Lil Yachty writing: “Happy for u bro congrats.”

“Congrats cho,” 2 Chainz commented, while Preme wrote: “Congrats bro that’s major.”

And in the perfect way to celebrate his graduation, Migos dropped their new tune “Need It” today – a catchy collaboration with YoungBoy Never Broke Again.

Harlem Native She Real Merges The Streets With The Melody On EP “Hi Cherelle”

(AllHipHop Music) Harlem native She Real delivered a hard-hitting project titled, “Hi Cherelle”. The artwork alone is definitely appealing to the eye, but what about the music? It’s apparent from the very first track, The Truth, that She Real is a star in the making. The grimey, melodic, street track sets the tone for the project in a way we don’t hear often enough. The project is lyrical! If the track does not grab your attention, you must not be a real hip-hop fan. A track titled Beautiful Day is a smooth track seemingly for people of color. It sparks nostalgia and takes you down memory lane with the vivid picture she paints. From the tracks I’m Speedin’ to F U, She Real proves over and over again that she is ready to be a staple in Hip-Hop with fancy wordplay, punchlines, and smooth flow. This is definitely a top tier project from a great artist. However, you need to listen to the project yourself for the same feeling.

She Real is definitely no slouch when it comes to Hip Hop. She has been featured on Hot 97, Loaded Lux’s Top Shelf Freestyle, Jermaine Dupri’s So So Def Women’s Cypher, BET Jams: Versed, Sway in the Morning (on four separate occasions), and as an opening act on the 2018 Joyner Lucas “I’m Kind Of A Big Deal Tour”. She’s also made appearances in well-known publications such as Hip Hop Weekly, XXL, and Mechanical Dummy. She Real has had the opportunity to open up for artists such as Tokyo Jetz, Juelz Santana, and Styles P. She Real has also toured colleges such as Syracuse University, Howard University, NYU, and more.

EXCLUSIVE: KSI Drops Debut Album But He’s Still Ready To Kick Jake Paul’s Ass

(AllHipHop News) KSI is now one of the biggest YouTube stars in the world, an actor as well as a professional boxer and a master of social media, amassing over 40 million followers.

With YouTube as his primary platform of influence, KSI’s two channels have over 30 million subscribers and over 6 BILLION views, third only to Ed Sheeran and One Direction.

Now he has transitioned to a major recording artist with his debut solo album, Dissimulation.

The record is crazy and includes some big-name artists such as Offset, Jeremih, Aiyanna Lee, Rick Ross, Lil Baby and more.

“Rick Ross and Lil Baby, they both heard the song, and they just f##ked with it, man. They f##ked with it,” KSI told AllHipHop.com. “They saw my journey, they saw the whole boxing thing, and they just loved it, man. They saw my fan base, they saw my numbers, they saw my previous songs, and they were like, ‘Yeah this guy is going places.’ They knew. So there were like, ‘Yeah, we’ll hop on this easy.’”

But Rick Ross and Lil Baby were not the only ones checking for KSI. He explains that the more that he met American artists, the more folk wanted to hop on his project.

“Offset don’t just jump on anything. You can give him as much money as you want if the song is trash, he ain’t going to do it. So he heard it, and he just f##ked with it so much that he wanted to be in the music video as well.”

KSI also vowed to remain focused on handling his simmering beef with Jake Paul, whose older brother, Logan Paul, fought the rapper in two-different high-profile boxing matches.

KSI and Logan Paul pair first faced off during a sold-out fight at Manchester, England, during an event billed as “The Biggest Fight in YouTube History.” The match ended in a draw.

However, KSI’s little brother Deji, who is also a YouTube star, was knocked out by Logan’s little brother Jake Paul during their fight.

KSI and Logan faced off once again in November of 2019 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, which ended in KSI’s victory, thanks to a split decision.

During his exclusive sit down with AllHipHop, KSI vowed to teach Jake Paul a lesson and humble him.

“I will be the one to annihilate [him] for sure. Yeah, no, mine thinks he’s sick. My things he said. Obviously, he beat my bro. And he’d be one of my best mates [AnEson Gibbs], so yeah, I’ve got to kind of humble him and show him who’s boss,” KSI told AllHipHop.com.

Jake Paul also recently confirmed the fight in on and popping after quarantine, in a showdown that is supposed to take place at Madison Square Garden.

Polo G Talks Striving To Stand Out As One Of The “Top-Tier” Rappers

(AllHipHop News) When an artist names his album THE GOAT, he is basically asking for the scrutiny that comes along with claiming to be one of the best. Polo G gave his sophomore LP that title, and the Chicago rapper is out to prove he is worthy of it.

Apple Music’s Ebro Darden caught up with Polo G to talk about his new project. At one point, the Columbia recording artist made it clear he is on a mission to climb the hierarchy of modern-day Hip Hop.

“I don’t want to just be another rapper. It’s a lot of people that pick this up as a profession. There’s a lot of people that just pop up rapping every day. With every single song I make, I try to make myself stand out. And not only stand out, but be one of the top-tier dudes,” said Polo G.

When it comes to the name of his LP, Polo stated, “I know there was going to be a lot of opinions behind it, a little bit of controversy here and there, but I named my album The GOAT because I’m a Capricorn. A goat represents my zodiac sign.”

He added, “It’s just in me to be great. That was really the connection of why I named my album that, but I know a lot of people would think otherwise. I got too much respect for the people before me to really deem myself the GOAT so early.”

Some listeners may have pigeonholed Polo G as a certain type of artist because of his breakout 2019 smash hit “Pop Out” featuring Lil Tjay. However, THE GOAT put his versatility on display.

The 21-year-old can tap into the turn-up sound like on “Go Stupid” with Stunna 4 Vegas, NLE Choppa, and Mike Will Made-It. Plus, tracks like “Don’t Believe The Hype,” “Trials & Tribulations,” and “Wishing For A Hero” show Polo knows how to use words over beats to descriptively outline the world he lives in.

“I know there’s only so long you can rap about a certain topic before people are like, ‘We get it.’ So I try to switch up my flow sometimes, give them a party or a pop-like feel on certain songs. But my main forte in music is just giving them the real,” explained Polo.

THE GOAT includes contributions from Stunna 4 Vegas, NLE Choppa, Mike Will Made-It, Mustard, Juice WRLD, Lil Baby, and BJ The Chicago Kid. The album is projected to pull in 85,000-95,000 first-week units. Polo G’s 2019 LP, Die A Legend, opened at #6 on the Billboard 200 chart with 38,000 album-equivalent units.

Megan Thee Stallion Curates “Class Of Savages” Spotify Playlist For Class Of 2020 Graduates

(AllHipHop News) The COVID-19 pandemic has caused schools across the country to hold virtual graduations. Even though many students will not get to experience the moment in person, Spotify is helping the graduates celebrate the major milestone with artist-curated playlists for the Class of 2020.

The exclusive Spotify Yearbook collections were put together by Megan Thee Stallion, Chloe x Halle, Jonas Brothers, Luke Combs, Remi Wolf, and Chelsea Cutler. Each act provided their actual graduation photographs for the individual playlists’ cover art.

Ludacris Releases Controversial “S.O.T.L. (Silence Of The Lambs)” Single Featuring Lil Wayne

(AllHipHop News) Before his Verzuz battle with Nelly got underway, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges previewed an unreleased Timbaland-produced song featuring Lil Wayne. “S.O.T.L. (Silence Of The Lambs)” is now available for streaming.

The snippet of the track did cause some controversy because of the opening bars on the record. Luda raps, “The world’s screwed if n*ggas pouring drinks like Bill Huxtable. I love R. Kelly, but around my daughters, I’m not comfortable.”

Some social media users took issue with the Atlanta-based emcee expressing that he loves R. Kelly, the R&B legend that is currently facing multiple state and federal sex-related charges. Ludacris addressed the backlash during an interview with Big Tigger.

When Luda asked the V103 personality what he thought those lines meant, Tigger said, “You probably meant I love his music and what he brought to the table, but I am a father of daughters, and you’re not going to be around my daughters.” Ludacris responded, “You are a smart man, bro. You get it. It’s that simple.”

Sheck Wes Arrested For Gun Possession After Traffic Stop

(AllHipHop News) Khadimou “Sheck Wes” Fall is facing two felony charges. The Harlem rapper was reportedly arrested in New York City after cops stopped his vehicle for excessive window tint.

Police discovered the smell of marijuana coming from the 2019 Lamborghini SUV. After a search, the officers supposedly found a small amount of weed and a loaded 9mm Smith & Wesson.

Sheck Wes and a passenger were charged with criminal possession of a loaded firearm and criminal possession of a weapon. Both defendants were arraigned and released without bail.

“This morning, Judge Moyne, in the Manhattan Criminal Court released Sheck Wes on his own recognizance, with no bail. His case was adjourned to August. During that period, we will conduct our own investigation into the charges,” Sheck’s attorney, Scott Leemon, told TMZ.

“Meg is the energy we were looking for,” Rihanna told Harper’s Bazaar of her new fashion collaborator. “She is a risk-taker with an attitude, character, and personality.”

Megan, who is currently riding high on the success of her appropriately-titled single, Savage, also shared the shots on Instagram and captioned them, “Thee savage for savage.”

The 25-year-old stunner joins the likes of Christina Milian, Tinashe, and Normani as spokesmodels for Rihanna’s brand.

Top Dawg Boss Stunts On Everyone With New $11 Million Mansion

(AllHipHop News) Anthony “Top Dawg Tiffith is what you can call one of Hip-Hop’s most successful rap stories.

Credited with discovering K-Dot, he took the lessons of West Coast labels like Ruthless and Death Row and made them better as the boss of Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE).

He made the talent more diverse and moreover learned how to capitalize on brand building, touring, merchandising, and streaming in ways that the labels that laid the foundation for his success could not do.

Part of his cache is how beautifully he ties his street history with his newly reformed life.

He has some of the lessons he learned as an 80s gangster and developed an empire, that is ran on quality artistry and gives back. Tiffith has used his platform to support those impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.

He is acutely connected to the COVID-19-related unemployment that has ravished California and was moved to go into his own pockets and pay the rent for 300 families from Watts who are hurting.

But he is also about serious investments.

According to Calabasas property records, Tiffith has recently expanded his real estate portfolio with a new $11 million, all-cash purchase mansion in the mountains above Beverly Hills. The white-and-grey manor sets securely behind a set of cameras and gates. These are gates that are in addition to those of the gated community that he pays dues to.

The estate was designed by architect Jay Vanos and is a far cry from the place he grew up with, as he is sitting on 13,000 square feet of living space.

Lizzo Launches New Sassy Campaign To Promote Australian Brand

(AllHipHop News) Lizzo is continuing her body positivity crusade by fronting a new Quay sunglasses venture.

The rapper is headlining the “Confidence is Quay” campaign, promoting a series of sassy new accessories for the Australian brand.

“Quay is different from other eyewear brands out there,” Lizzo said in a statement. “They’re cool and fresh, but also inclusive and attainable. Their message of confidence and self-expression is something that I believe in and can stand behind.”

The “Truth Hurts” hitmaker is also using the venture for a good cause – for every purchase, from May 21 to 26, customers will get another pair of shades of their choice for free, and Quay will help provide at least 100 meals-per-purchase to charity Feeding America.

“Combine all that with the opportunity to do good with Feeding America, and it doesn’t get much better than that,” Lizzo added.

The 32-year-old joins Jennifer Lopez and Chrissy Teigen, who have previously joined forces with bosses at the label to launch lines.

Wu-Tang Clan Launches Their Own Line Of Hand Sanitizer

(AllHipHop News) Wu-Tang Clan have launched their own hand sanitizer, cleverly titled called “Protect Ya Hands,” with proceeds from sales going to three Canadian charities amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The sanitizer is just one product the band is selling as part of their A Better Tomorrow Collection, which will benefit the Ottawa Food Bank, The Ottawa Mission Foundation, and the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario.

For each bottle sold of the sanitizer, the name of which is a reference to their debut single “Protect Ya Neck,” an additional bottle will be donated to The Ottawa Mission Foundation, as well as other homeless shelters in Canada.

As well as the sanitizer, the rappers are selling a Korean-inspired meal packed in a reusable food bowl and an Ottawa x Wu-Tang Clan shirt.

They were first prompted to launch the charitable range after tweeting fans to encourage donations to the Ottawa Food Bank, with their post accruing an additional $28,000 in donations from fans.

StaySolidRocky Says “Party Girl” Is “Not A Tik Tok Song”

StaySolidRocky is your new favorite rapper. The Texas-born, Richmond, Virginia-raised native thinks of his music like an art canvas, focusing on quality over quantity. At 19 years old, he’s already caught his big break with his viral hit “Party Girl,” which currently has over 11.6 million views and counting.

The song originally took off on TikTok, a hilarious yet innocent video seeing a driving mail lady video bombing while dropping off mail. The record itself quickly entered Spotify’s coveted Rap Caviar playlist, while reaching the #14 spot on the US Spotify Chart.

Born Darak Figueroa, StaySolidRocky describes himself as “a normal person, I make music like everybody else. You might get some happy songs, you might get some bad songs. I never know myself. I don’t want to pick up a certain flow and overuse that flow or melody. I try to keep things different, keep trying to refresh and better myself.”

Growing up on the likes of Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, Drake, and Kevin Gates, he always took a liking to love songs — a lane that he’d soon embody on his own. While “Party Girl” is still running its numbers up, Rocky reminds you this is just one of his many hits in the vault.

AllHipHop caught up with the Columbia Records signee who was enjoying some outside air in the backyard of his home in Virginia. Read below as we discuss his upbringing, the making of “Party Girl,” why he’s not a fan of Tik Tok, and more!

AllHipHop: You’re currently in Virginia, but you’re from Texas right?

StaySolidRocky: I’m from San Antonio, Texas. I lived in Texas for 13 to 14 years, then I moved to South Carolina for 2 to 3 years. I finally came to Virginia when I was 15 or 16. I went to high school in Virginia.

AllHipHop: What was the household like growing up with 6 siblings?

StaySolidRocky: Well when I lived with my mom, there was only 4 of us. It was a normal everyday struggle, surrounded by poverty and all that s##t. My mom did what she could. We relocated when I was in 6th grade. We moved out of San Antonio to a small little town in Texas called San Angelo. That’s really my first time getting out of San Antonio, travelling and experiencing different things. It opened my mind up more rather than being stuck on one side of town. My mom didn’t have a car so we couldn’t go anywhere. It helped us experience new things.

AllHipHop: When did music come into play?

StaySolidRocky: I’ve been rapping for as long as I can remember. I really started freestyling. Once I got to Virginia, that’s when I started writing for real. I don’t know why I started writing, I just picked up the habit of writing in Virginia. I wasn’t able to go to the studio how I wanted to at first. As soon as I got older and got more money, then I started being able to access the studio.

AllHipHop: How did the culture compare from Texas to Virginia?

StaySolidRocky: It helped me because I had family in Texas, then I moved to South Carolina. Made friends in South Carolina so now I have people in South Carolina. I came to Virginia, made friends in Virginia. That helped me because through social media and keeping in contact with everyone, I let everybody know I’m making music. Keeping everybody connected from all different places really benefited me, moving around and meeting different people. Make new connections.

AllHipHop: Your biggest influences are Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, Drake, Kevin Gates. That’s an interesting mix, why do you like them?

StaySolidRocky: Bone Thugs was really my mom, because she used to play Bone Thugs growing up. They used to rap fast, have melodies. I really picked up from my mom. Of course Lil Wayne, that’s more my mom but I fell in love with Wayne’s music. Once I got older, I started to listen to music on my own. That’s when Kevin Gates was coming up, Luca Brasi 2. The storytelling, the pure emotion, he’s not afraid to say anything. He put it all out there. Anything that’s on his mind, he might talk about some random stuff. I fell in love with the music. I got a different vibe from Kevin Gates that I didn’t get from any other artist, that really drew my attention.

AllHipHop: When’d you pick up your name?

StaySolidRocky: Alright so my real name’s Darak, that’s my government name. Ever since I was little, my mom would call me Rocky. When I started rapping and getting in the studio, I was using my real name because I never met another Darak. I was going to use my real name for the music but I had an Instagram page, the name was the pronunciation of my name. It was @duh.rock. That page got deleted, so I had to make a new page. One day, I thought of the name StaySolidRocky.

AllHipHop: Who or what inspired “Party Girl”?

StaySolidRocky: I was on the phone with this one girl. She was into all the wrong things, so that’s where the idea came from. I took that idea and ran with it, then I pulled emotions from my current situation. From my relationship problems. I mixed it all in there.

AllHipHop: Did you think it would go up like that?

StaySolidRocky: No. When I wrote the song, before I recorded it, I showed it to BigKayBeezy. He’s a brother to me, he makes music too. We really show each other our songs, our ideas. I showed him the song, he said “hell nah, you better not make that song.” He didn’t say it’s a bad song, he feels it doesn’t really fit me as an artist. Who I am as an artist, so it’s out of my box. He said “it’s not a bad song, but I don’t think you should make it.” I told him “nah, I’ma make the song because they’re loving it on Instagram.” Because I posted it.

I’d post Instagram videos of me saying it with the beat in the background. If they liked it, if it gets a lot of good feedback, then I record the song and I drop it. When I posted “Party Girl,” it went crazy on Instagram. He’s telling me “don’t make it, don’t make it.” I’m like “nah, I gotta make it. I have to.” So I go make the song. When I make the song, we switched. I was listening to the song in the studio like “nah I don’t like this.” That’s me though. When I make my songs, I don’t like them. But I listen to them, listen to them, I usually warm up to them. He’s like “nah you trippin’, this aight.” [laughs] After the studio, I’m posting the snippet on Instagram. Every time I post the snippet on Instagram, it flops. It’s getting no feedback. I posted it multiple times. The last time I posted it, I typed a little paragraph like “you all begged me for this song, dah, dah, dah.” Saying all this stuff. That time, the snippet went crazy and I knew we had to drop it.

AllHipHop: How’s it feel to have it go up on Tik Tok?

StaySolidRocky: Honestly, I have mixed emotions about Tik Tok. I’m getting a lot of views off Tik Tok and it’s helping most definitely, but also a lot of people are starting to call it a Tik Tok song. I don’t really like that. They’re saying “oh, you’re only blowing up because of Tik Tok.” They don’t understand before the label put any push behind it, before the TikTok started going up, I had 2 million views on the music video in 4 months. I already had 2 million views. Tik Tok helped me get a lot of views and a lot of promotion naturally, but I didn’t put it on TikTok.

I didn’t even know the song was on Tik Tok. I started getting text messages, that’s when I made a TikTok account. But at first, it was just on YouTube and SoundCloud. That’s when it started taking off on TikTok. My thing with TikTok is I feel it devalues the song. It takes all the meaning away from the song. A lot of people are focused on the one sound that the TikTok was focused on, but it’s a whole song. It’s a whole song and it has deep meaning if you really listen to it. It’s more than a fun party song.

AllHipHop: What’s the deep meaning?

StaySolidRocky: If you listen to the song, you can take it from 2 different perspectives. You can either take it from the girl that I’m singing about’s perspective, or you can take it from my perspective. My perspective is I’m trying to get this girl, but she’s not even worried about me. In the song, I’m listing all the bad things that she comes with. But at the end, I still say “I love you.” The meaning of the song is if you really like somebody, if you really love somebody, you should be willing to put up with all problems that they come with. You should be willing to make that sacrifice and really love them for them. You don’t really get that from TikTok. They made it like a meme, like a joke.

AllHipHop: I don’t think there’s any negatives…

StaySolidRocky: It’s not negative, but a lot of people know the song because of Tik Tok. Their first impression isn’t “oh this is a great song,” it’s “oh I want to make a TikTok to this.” It’s not “let me sit back,, vibe, really listen to what he’s saying.” I don’t want to demoralize or pull the meaning away from the song, but I appreciate Tik Tok most definitely.

AllHipHop: Best memory from the video shoot?

StaySolidRocky: Honestly, I hated the video shoot. I was mad, too much s##t going on. More people were supposed to come, we only had 2 days to get ready for the video shoot. The way I set it up, everything’s just ugh. But my best memory? This is my first video shoot ever. That’s my only one so he said “alright, what I like to do is start off with the artist and get some solo shots. We go from there.” He said he was going to have a photographer with him. We start shooting the music video, got the music playing. He’s like “go sit on the couch to get some solo shots.” So I’m thinking he’s taking pictures. Whole time he’s recording me, the music playing and he’s like “why you not moving? Why you just sitting there?” I’m like “oh s##t, I thought you were taking pictures.” [laughs] That’s the funniest part.

AllHipHop: You’re rocking a shirt that says “drugs are bad.” Do you not smoke or drink?

StaySolidRocky: Nah, I smoke. I don’t drink though, I don’t like drinking. It makes me feel sluggish and sloppy. I like music videos to where you have to catch, you have to rewind, go back and catch that. The whole point of the song is the “Party Girl, drugs, dah dah dah.” So I thought why not wear a shirt that says “drugs are bad”? On the shirt, the character looks high. [chuckles] Just a little comedy.

AllHipHop: Your IG bio says “I’m on my 9 shi.” What’s that mean?

StaySolidRocky: Alright so my best friend, he went to jail not too long ago. Probably a few days ago. His name is Kevin, my nickname for him is K9. It’s a tribute to him.

AllHipHop: How does he feel that you’re putting him on like that?

StaySolidRocky: He feels good, he’s getting a lot of support. He’s going through some tough times right now. I’m glad it’s happening right as I’m finally being successful with music, right before all this s##t. But everything happens for a reason, God got a plan.

AllHipHop: Let’s talk about your journey to Columbia, how did that happen?

StaySolidRocky: Oh, it was fast. It wasn’t fast because I’ve been making music for a long time, but the process and how everything got set up? Real fast. What happened was, I hit a million views on my song. I already had labels contacting me, but I was dragging my feet with it. I hit a million views on my song, then I went into work the next day. I lost my job the day after I hit a million views.

Some Hulu s##t. A customer support type s##t, some s##t on there. I lost my job, that’s when all of this quarantine, stay in the house stuff started kicking in. Virginia went on lockdown, so I’m at the house. I don’t have anything going on. That’s when I look at my DMs and I saw Solomon, he DMed me saying “yo I think you can be huge. I want to help you get a huge record deal.” I ‘m thinking it’s some bulls##t. I don’t open the DM for the first couple days, then I finally go back to it. Look at his page, see who he’s working with. I thought “hmm, let me talk to this guy.”

From the jump, he’s been making every promise that he says. It is a big step cause really I was signing with them in the first few weeks. It didn’t take over a month to get the vision, it probably took 2 weeks. Everything was happening so fast. I got a solid team around me. My lawyer is very trustworthy. Of course Solomon showed me that he’s trustworthy. Looking up with Columbia, seeing who they have on their roster, weighing my different options. I saw how they have successful artists, so why can’t they do the same for me? That’s why I chose Columbia. the process was real fast. [snaps]

AllHipHop: What’d you do w/ your first advance?

StaySolidRocky: I didn’t get it yet. The first thing is buy a car. I want to go big, but I don’t want to go too big. I want to be smart with my money. I’m still debating. I don’t want to go too crazy but at the same time, I worked hard to achieve this. I want to give a gift to myself.

AllHipHop: What can we look for next from you?

StaySolidRocky: I want more music videos. I’m working on a body of work right now, trying to get everything together with that. Surprises, I don’t even know what’s in store for me next. I might go to the studio and make a hit song tonight. Everybody stay tuned, we’re going to see what’s next.

DMX Says Eminem Doesn’t Want Smoke!

(AllHipHop Rumors) DMX does not bit his tongue!

“Eminem don’t want it,” DMX said! Straight like that! It didn’t take long for him to shift his energy back to Jigga.

Of Jay-Z, he said, “You can’t go in the basement and play some records?!… That’s what I’m saying. That’s why it should be done. It’s a celebration. We’re celebrating music. He got some hits, too! He can play ‘Money, Cash, Hoes,’ then I can play ‘Money, Cash, Hoes.'”

This is Jay-Z we are talking about! He doesn’t do that sort of thing! Whereas, Eminem does “want it” according to DMX, Fat Joe feels like…nobody cane beat him! “I don’t think nobody can f### with Eminem.”

Earlier in the week, Fat Joe sat down with Nori and the guys at drink champs and they discussed Eminem versus DMX. Well guess what, fat Joe doesn’t think anybody can beat Eminem. DMX has not commented on Joe’s remarks, but the dog is calling Eminem out. He wants to do this. We all know he really wants to battle Jay Z, but we know that Dj is not going to do this thing.

Fat Joe said:

“DMX got the biggest hits in the world, one of the greatest rappers of all time. Legendary, iconic, superhero. And everything I’m saying is understating, he’s bigger than that. But there’s something about that white boy and his fans—nah bro, you want to see something cracking the internet? That n###a David Koresh, that n###a different!”

And to further punctuate what he felt, he said that Eminem is a one of a kind type of Rapper.

“Eminem was hot when we came out. His fans from day one are 40, 41 years old. These white people teach their kids that Eminem is the greatest. You go to the airports and 10-year-olds are playing his sh#t,” Joe continued. “When you say generational wealth, they keep teaching their kids that he’s the man to the ultimate science.”

Now, Fat Joe did not disrespect DMX and did manage to give him his props too. By the way, I disagree with Joe. He makes Em sound like Elvis…which he may be to his fans.

What do you think?
