Kanye West Stages Surprise Performance With Kid Cudi

(AllHipHop News) Kanye West surprised fans in Los Angeles over the weekend, when he joined forces with fellow rapper Kid Cudi for his first performance of the year.

The “Day ‘n’ Nite” star was in the middle of his set at the Adidas 747 Warehouse St. event, held to coincide with the 2018 NBA All-Star Weekend, when his DJ began spinning Kanye’s “Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1” track, on which Cudi features.

In video footage from the show, Cudi can be seen dancing to the tune, before turning to face the back of the stage as Kanye makes his entrance, wearing a cap, sweatshirt, and shorts, sending the crowd wild.

The two pals, who briefly fell out in 2016, then launch into the song as soon as the bass drops.

Celebrating Kanye’s stage return, rap mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs took to Instagram and wrote, “One time for my brother @kanyewest and @kidcudi at the #747WarehouseSt today!!!”

His post was accompanied by footage of Kanye calling Cudi his “brother” as he urged fans to “make some noise” at the gig, which was streamed live on Diddy’s Revolt network.

Kanye has been keeping a low profile ever since he was hospitalized in late 2016 and treated for “temporary psychosis” caused by dehydration and sleep deprivation, weeks after his wife Kim Kardashian was held at gunpoint and robbed in Paris, France.

Saturday’s appearance marked only his second gig since his health crisis, after previously delivering another surprise rendition of “Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1,” from his The Life of Pablo album, during Cudi’s Passion, Pain and Demon Slayin’ Tour stop in Kanye’s native Chicago, Illinois in November.

The set took place just three days after Kanye ended his long social media hiatus to share a photo of the minimalist Valentine’s Day card he appeared to have made for his wife Kim Kardashian.

“Happy Valentine’s Day Babe,” he wrote on a plain white card.

He then shared numerous photos of past and present celebrity couples, including Brad Pitt and his ex-wife Jennifer Aniston, Barack and Michelle Obama, Cindy Crawford and Richard Gere, and Ellen DeGeneres with Portia de Rossi. He finished his picture selection with a snap of himself and Kim, alongside the caption, “Kimye”.

The Instagram page was reactivated for just 24 hours, before shutting down the profile again.

Birdman Keeps His Word And Cashes Out Ar-Ab!

By Rico Panacea (@RicoPanacea)

(AllHipHop Rumors) The day has finally made it here people!! A few weeks back Ar-Ab and Birdman had a pricey wager on the Super Bowl.

The Philadelphia Eagles and the New England Patriots took the field in the nationally televised game.

The game was full of suspense leading up to the Eagles victory in the closing moments.

Ar-Ab, being the Philly native that he is, bet big money on the Eagles against Cash Money boss Birdman. The wager started at $100,000 and rose to the price of $200,000 large.

Last week Ar-Ab was on Instagram live and talked to viewers about the wager when asked. Ab said that the wager should be cleared by Thursday and that he would show the cash after receiving it.

That day has indeed arrived people as Ar-Ab took to social media again.

He posted a photo to Instagram on Sunday showcasing his new cash and include the following caption.

Thank U @birdman5star Let’s Bet On The Sixers Next 😬

I don’t think Birdman will be as quick to take Ar-Ab up on another bet, but it is refreshing to see Birdman being a man of his word.

Black Panther: A Conversation About The Deeper Themes

(AllHipHop Features) The Black Panther has created a buzz that transcends the traditional blockbuster notions, ideas and themes. “Street Soldiers” with Lisa Evers recently covered the dense topics intertwined in the Marvel movie that has overtones of Afrocentricity, Black rage and colonialism.

By Lisa Evers

Marvel’s Black Panther is in movie theaters now. Black Panther the superhero is here to save the world but he represents so much more than that.

Stan Lee and Jack Kirby created the comic book character in 1966—and predates the Black Panther Party, according to Chuck Creekmur, the CEO of AllHipHop.com. The character is a king, warrior, and scientist—an alpha male on another level, Creekmur says.

Black Panther is king of a fictional technologically advanced African country that hides its riches and intellectual wealth from the world until the Black Panther must fulfill his destiny.

The movie has great action, strong female characters, a multi-layered plot and a predominantly black cast. It is groundbreaking in many ways.

“You have a $200 million budget given to a person of color, Ryan Coogler, 31 years old, has only directed two other films prior to this—Fruitvale Station and Creed,” says Clayton Davis, a film critic and the editor in chief of awardscircuit.com. “And he’s given the keys to a big franchise like Black Panther.”

The film’s positive portrayals of a black civilization untouched by racism or colonialism can have a profound effect, especially on children.

“We’ve all been conditioned to see Africa and Africa’s children, whether they be in Africa or in Brooklyn, in a negative light,” says Brian Favors, an educator with the Nate Parker Foundation. “And I think this is going to be something that’s going to help defy some of those stereotypes.”

“Any time an individual can see themselves in a positive light, that can only increase their self-esteem,” says Dr. Elisa English, a clinical therapist.

Black Panther Breaks Worldwide Sales Records

(AllHipHop News) The idea that Black-themed movies cannot be blockbusters is officially shattered.

Black Panther raked in an estimated $361 million worldwide debut, a huge victory for Marvel Studios. It also clearly shows that movies that have Black leads and Afrocentric notions are unable to sell worldwide.

The movie pulled in an estimated $192 million domestically in the three days, $169 million and the numbers are expected to rise dramatically due to the President’s Day holiday Monday.

This is the biggest debut of any movies in the month of February, March and April, according to Buzzfeed. The Black Panther also marks the biggest domestic opening weekend ever for a movie directed by a black director.

Food Truck Goes After The Right’s To Kanye and Kim’s Baby’s Name

(AllHipHop News) Kanye West should forget about cashing in on his child’s name legally.

That’s because a food truck in Seattle, Washington has moved to trademark the name ChicagoWest.

“After completing our first year of business, trademarking was on our list of ‘to-dos’ for 2018,” the owner of the truck said. “We are also reviewing our sales and revamping our menu, which made it a perfect time to add our new BabyWest offering.”

The owners of ChicagoWest thought it would be cute to name food items on their food truck’s menu after the newborn since the baby happens to share the same name as their business.

The owners of ChicagoWest are seeking to trademark the name to sell hot dogs, popcorn, and sandwiches.

Did Nicki Minaj’s Brother Get Done Up In Jail?

(AllHipHop Rumors) There are some strong rumors surrounding Nicki Minaj’s brother, Jelani Maraj. If you forgot, last year, he was unceremoniously convicted of sexually abusing a kid. He was specifically found guilty of raping an 11-year old girl in December of 2017. That’s some bad stuff right there. When he was convicted, he did not pass go, he went straight to jail. Now, he faces 25 years to life in prison. Maraj, who is 38, now has to contend with life in jail. There is a video in circulation that suggests that he has already been beaten up for his heinous acts against a little girl. I am not sure this is real, but it does indicate what is in store for him. Check this out.

https://www.google.com/sorry/index?continue=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xZ8uYxX22hM&q=EgQ2uICCGNaVg_kFIhkA8aeDS8wf5f8fh-wN-1h7VQgavEuZaonNMgFy

Now, this may or may not be true. But what is definitely FACT is that Maraj has one last ditch effort in court to reduce is sentence. That is coming up. I am not cool with anything he had done, so he must face the “music” in jail. I suspect the music he will hear will be Horrorcore Hip-Hop.

Black Panther Rumors Are Off The Charts!

(AllHipHop Rumors) The Black Panther has already done its job, but it looks like it will be going several steps beyond. Here are the rumors. First of all, the Black Panther movie is slated to make over $250 million this first weekend, insiders say. It has broken all sorts of records for other reasons, but this one is most critical. The movie shatters the stereotype that Black movies cannot be block busters. Clearly, this is a special case in terms of it being in the Marvel universe, but its also the Blackest cast on record for a move on this scale. So, it has already broken even (backing out monies allocated to marketing and stuff. Ryan Coogler had $200 million to make this movie.)

The other rumor is that there may be some type of spin-off movie with Shuri, played by the incredible Letitia Wright in “Black Panther.” In the books, we realize that she is trained in a similar fashion as T’Challa with the intellect too. In the comics, she becomes the Black Panther for a period of time. So, it has already been leaked that she may have a starring role in a future movie.

I know everybody has not seen the movie yet, but when you do, you will see there are some missing details. This leads us to realize that the sequel is already in the works. The movie is incredible. Go see it asap!

Is Young Dolph Reigniting His Beef With Yo Gotti?

By Rico Panacea (@RicoPanacea)

(AllHipHop Rumors) Young Dolph and Yo Gotti haven’t been on the same page lately. The two Memphis rappers have been rumored to be at odds for years. People have been relating issues the Rappers have been going through to each other.

Most notably Dolph being shot at in Charlotte and later being shot in California in 2017. Now rumors are spreading again about tension between the two rappers after the release of Young Dolph’s latest EP.

Young Dolph released a new EP “N*as Get Shot Everyday”** last night.

https://www.google.com/sorry/index?continue=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=flwjdOPQehY&q=EgQ2uICCGIyWg_kFIhkA8aeDSzeQlAhqqGkyeh1rlQ4jufErl7jPMgFy

I personally don’t think Young Dolph is speaking about Yo Gotti on the song. The lines in questions appear on the hook and in the first verse.

To me, it sounds like regular trap music bravado. Young Dolph doesn’t name anyone in the record and the lines are too distant to regular connect. So the Yo Gotti beef conspiracy is kind of a reach. However, that still has kept people from talking and they’re talking.

Quavo Lands MVP For Stunning Performance During Celebrity B-Ball Game

(AllHipHop News) Migos group member Quavo shined during the celebrity All-Star Basketball Game last night in Los Angeles.

The rapper was named MVP, after putting in 19 points for the Los Angeles Clippers, leading the team to a 75-66 victory over Team Lakers at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Quavo lead a celebrity field team which included Common, Jamie Foxx, WNBA star Stefanie Dolson, NBA favorite Paul Pierce and others.

Actress Rachel DeMita put up some impressive numbers for Team Lakers with 17 points, but it was not enough to stop Quavo and The Clippers’ offense and defense.

Sa-Roc Returns With Raw Rap With Heavy Bars

(AllHipHop Music) The arresting visual captures the song’s empowering message. Over an ominous bass line, the hip-hop
heroine goes from spitting bars among the breathtaking surroundings of Georgia’s Providence Canyon, to overtaking an ornate throne as she drops lines like, “No, I’m not flawless. I’m scarred up, and I’m fine with it.” She goes on to recount how mama taught her “stay woke,” admit her own body image struggles, and name-check Do The Right Thing. It feels like it could be rap’s own answer to the “No-Makeup Movement.”

Christian Kuya Releases His Steamy Visual For “Fiji”

Christian Kuya delivers the first visual “FIJI” off his self titled EP “KUYA“, released this past December. The video, directed by well known visual artist, Edgar Esteves (Russ – What The Want), allows Christian to give fans what they’ve been waiting for! He has teased the clip for weeks via social media. The intense visual, shot in Oahu features Chris with some rather steamy company, setting off a laid back vibe!

Brief Q and A

Motivation Behind creating the track:

I just heard the beat and thought about the most wavy thing I could think of and I was drinking a Fiji water at that time, and the rest is history lol.

How long it took to make:

I made Fiji in like 2 days. I like to take my time with music and not rush the process, sometimes it takes 3-4 days for 1 song, sometimes it takes 1 hour, just depends on how far I push myself.

Who produced it:

BeatsModeMusic, a dope producer in Atlanta, he’s my Korean partna, but he’s cold with the beats. Can’t wait to work with him some more. We got heat coming soon!

Any Features:

I haven’t done any features with anyone really, I want the people to get to know me, my story, my voice, and then once they are familiar with my vibe, I’ll be working with alot more people. Everyone in Private Club is dope, and we all vibe good, so I would expect you will hear something from someone in that camp and me soon.

Whats Next:

Dropping 1 video for every song off the KUYA EP, which is out on SoundCloud and Spotify right now. So that’s a 8 total, I’m dropping Fiji today, so if you haven’t seen that yet, make sure you go to Rivnow.com or youtube and check it out now.

Nipsey Hussle Gets Real When Speaking Cardi B!

By Rico Panacea (@RicoPanacea)

(AllHipHop Rumors) Cardi B caused a stir last week after posting a photo on Instagram. The photo had a questionable caption that many took as a shot at the Crips.

Cardi has been known to reference the Bloods a lot and even referred to herself as Bardi. Expectedly, Crip members took the caption as being disrespectful and took the words as a declaration.

Cardi B would later delete the caption after the post became a situation. As the circumstances intensified, people affiliated with the Crips would speak out on their behalf.

This came in many different forms. Some were cool and laid back while others were more aggressive. Recently rapper Nipsey Hussle talked about the matter while speaking with radio personality Big Boy.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BfPXkp9hyHC/

“If we just be honest. That’s how Bloods talk. Amongst themselves.,” said Nipsey. “At the end of the day she a woman. She’s a female. Everybody loving her wave. Everybody loving her music. It’s just something that she should probably correct.”

The interview was part of Nipsey Hussle’s press campaign for his latest album.

His album Victory Lap was released last night via All Money In No Money Out and Atlantic Records.

The California rapper also held a release concert last night at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles.

Boosie Bad Azz Co-Signs Vegas Rapper D. Cross in “Watch Out”

https://youtu.be/_3bYk6kblxw

Using his wit and word play, up and coming rapper D. Cross is breaking onto the Vegas rap scene with his new project Both Sides of the Fence. Pulling out a few big features  from Boosie, Sauce Walka Juelz Santana, Rugar Rico and others, D. Cross combines it all with dope production for a big project Vegas can get behind.

Despite a somewhat limited underground scene, D. Cross has quickly made a name for himself in the city of bright lights by offering Hip-Hop fans real knowledge in the game of life and the streets.

Starting from humble beginnings, D. Cross hustled his way to a small fortune on the Hip-Hip scene in Vegas where support for local rappers and Hip-Hop in general is limited due to the politics of the big venues and Las Vegas’ superstar nightlife. .

“Indie artists have to find their own way and direction. I got started just being surrounded by rappers and I was into dance when I was young.  As I got older I picked up on music, I started playing with it and I eventually got better,” D Cross explained.

But while his career was just taking off D. Cross learned the hard way that when you are successful jealousy and envy follow.

“There were people that I thought were solid and they ended up betraying me. I helped people out ten-fold and I noticed if you become somebody’s crutch, they will still use you even when the doctor says they can walk. I put those kinds of stories in my music and I think people will relate to that,” he explained.

While there have been a few rappers to break out on the Vegas scene over the past few years, there market is still wide open.

“There’s a bunch of rap in Vegas that was basically story telling and we didn’t really have anyone that was popular.  There’s really no Hip-Hop scene out here due to the politics, so I had no direction. Then I started working with some rappers that are bigger outside of my city and it all started to make sense.”

That was just the case when D. Cross linked up with Boosie Bad Azz after he brought the legendary Baton Rouge, Louisiana rapper out to Las Vegas for a big time show.

“I was dealing with a promoter after I did an album release party there that ended up bringing about 700 people out.  From there he connected me with Boosie and we booked him for a show,” D. Cross explained.  “Once we did that show, we left the club and went to my studio and recorded a song.  He was a real dude and I’ve met a lot of stars being in Vegas, but he was honestly the realest dude, he was just cool. He did a verse and the video and then after that he took me on tour in Texas, then to Miami and a few other places.”

D. Cross looks to continue that positive motion with the release of his project and the single featuring Boosie Bad Azz called, “Watch Out.”

Coming up D. Cross will be attending the release part y of Floyd Mayweathers new club Girl Collection on February 23rd.
