DC Young Fly & Dave East Roast Each Other On Social Media

(AllHipHop News) TRL host DC Young Fly and Harlem emcee Dave East are in the middle of a comical back-and-forth on Instagram. It all started when DC went in on East’s new hair twists.

The P2 project creator didn’t back down. Dave jumped on IG and shot back at the social media star, saying the Atlanta-raised comedian “looks like all the little characters on SpongeBob that nobody knows.”

DC then launched another round of roasting. The caption for the second Instagram video reads, “[Dave East] First model from SEARS lookin ass.”

Director Talks Near Cheetah Attack In Cardi B’s “Bodak Yellow” Video

(AllHipHop News) Cardi B’s rise to stardom was partially due to the success of her Dubai-set music video for “Bodak Yellow.” The visuals featured the Bronx representative petting a cheetah.

Genius spoke with director Picture Perfect about making the video. He recalled a moment of filming where the animal got testy with Cardi.

“We shot this other scene that we didn’t use, and he attacked Cardi in it,” said Perfect. “So that was kind of crazy. We got her spirits back up and then we shot this scene.”

A different cheetah was brought in. That cat was supposedly fed close to six pounds of deer meat before arriving on the set.

“Bodak Yellow” has collected more than 450 million views on YouTube. The song is currently 4-times platinum.

Diddy Explains Cropping Out French Montana & Fabolous From IG Photo

(AllHipHop News) The Internet had a good time trying to figure out why Sean “Diddy” Combs chose to crop out French Montana and Fabolous from an Instagram picture that included Jay-Z, Kendrick Lamar, and Nas. Combs has now provided an explanation for the #DiddyCrop.

“I take a lot of pictures with a lot of different celebrities because we’re all family,” said the Bad Boy founder on the Ellen show. “Sometimes my photography editor – he doesn’t let me know when he’s taking people out of the pictures. So I just found out about this.”

Diddy added, “There were people that were taken away that didn’t deserve to be taken away. I had nothing to do with it. There was this young kid that works for me. He wanted a picture of Jay-Z, Nas, and Kendrick. So he used his social technology skills. My friends haven’t been talking to me for like two weeks.”

NYPD Reportedly Set To Arrest Quavo For Allegedly Assaulting Jeweler

(AllHipHop News) According to TMZ, Quavo is about to be arrested by New York City police. Detectives reportedly contacted the Migos member’s attorney, Drew Findling, to inform him that the NYPD has enough evidence to take Quavo into custody.

“This is yet another example of a young African-American Hip Hop star potentially being treated unfairly by the criminal justice system,” said Findling.

Eric the Jeweler accused Quavo and another man of attacking him in New York City’s 1 Oak club last month. He also claimed a $30,000 chain was taken.

An arrest warrant for Quavo is expected to be issued soon. The “Stir Fry” rapper insists he is innocent.

Before Black Panther: 15 Things To Know About The Super Hero King

(AllHipHop Features) Before you run to the theaters and see Marvel’s “Black Panther” (and you will all haul ass!) there are some of you that should get a quick course on the hero and some parts of his back story. There are no spoilers here so be easy, shorty. This is a guide to help the uninitiated get through this movie just a bit easier. The Ryan Coogler-directed saga has already broken pre-sale records for superhero movies and is presently clawing its way up on “The Hunger Games” (2012) and “Beauty and the Beast” (2017). This movie is more than a mere movie – it’s an event.

Groups of people (OK, BLACK PEOPLE!) are gleefully preparing to don traditional African clothing and Afrofuturistic garb to their various outings. Others are swept up in the mania, as “Black Panther” has garnered the best Rotten Tomatoes rating for a superhero movie since Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight,” over a decade ago. Let it be known, Dark Knight continues to be the gold standard of excellence, but Black Panther is a natural breaker of tradition. There is a new dark knight, people.

Unlike Batman, the story of Black Panther has not been regurgitated over and over and over through the annals of time and space. Here are 15 items to help you grasp the movie when you undoubtedly step into the theater.

Black Panther Was the First Black Superhero In Mainstream Comics

Superman. Batman. Spider-man. The Hulk. Iron-man. Captain America. And Wonder Woman. Black Panther was the first major superhero in comics. He came well before Luke Cage (Power Man), The Falcon, John Stewart (Green Lantern) and Black Lightning.

The Black Panther Was Created By Two Revolutionary White Guys!

The Black Panther was created by Stan Lee (writer/editor) and Jack Kirby (artist/editor). Clearly they saw the greatness of Africa as well as the parallels the advanced civilization has to history. They took it a step further in the height of racial tension and revolutionary activity by Black people at that time. They gave T’Challa superior intellect, strength, advanced technology and more money than even Tony Stark! The character was like Mansa Musa, the richest person in history, Hannibal, the greatest military leader and the ancient Egyptians all rolled into one body. Kudos to Lee and Kirby for blessing us with such a powerful hero king.

The Black Panther Pre-Dates The Formation Of The Black Panther Party

I was astounded when I found out that the first major Black comic hero was created before the revolutionaries of the same name. That’s right, the Black Panther – Wakanda’s king – was created in 1966 months before the Black Panther Party For Self Defense. The Black Panther first came in July of 1966 in the Fantastic Four (#52) and The Black Panther Party would shake up the world in another way in October of 1966. Shout out to Bobby Seale and Fred Hampton! The two entities did not stand in solidarity or anything like that. (For the record, The Black Panther Party was not named after the superhero.)

The Black Panther Fell Back Due To The Black Panther Party

Unlike Wakanda and T’Challa, America was super real and extremely cruel to the Black Panther party. The party, who implemented a lot of community-based initiatives, were treated like terrorists while real terrorists like the Ku Klux Klan were permitted to permeate society freely. Co-creators, Stan Lee and Jack Kirby temporarily changed the Black Panther to Black Leopard in 1972 to make sure real-world politics did not mix with the fictional world they had created.

We May Get A Black Panther / X-Men Crossover

In my opinion, the “Black Panther” will be a massive success that the comic world has never seen before. Such a financial windfall will produce many positives, the most obvious being a sequel. However, Disney recently acquired all the Marvel assets from Fox (The X-men franchise, Deadpool, The Fantastic Four and more). In the comics, Black Panther, real name T’Challa, is married to Storm of the X-men, who is also African. The frequent leader of the X-Men and the ruler of Wakanda got married in a traditional Wakandan ceremony with super heros all over the place. I won’t tell you how things ended up since most people won’t read the book. Just know that this can happen now. Will it? Only time and Marvel will tell.

Wakanda Is The Most Advanced Nation In The World

Once upon a time in the Marvel universe, a meteor landed in the nation of Wakanda, smack dab in Africa. Vibranium was in that meteor and it help propel the nation forward. Wakanda continued their self-imposed isolation from the rest of the world and promoted an advanced understanding of Vibranium. In the movie, the knowledge and wisdom of Wakanda is put on center stage, as it is a central theme of the whole “Black Panther” movie.

Black Women Rock In Marvel’s “Black Panther”

If the trailers were not clear, know that the women of “Black Panther” are the real stars of the movie. That is not to take anything from Chadwick Boseman, who plays T’Challa, but the women are badass af! I have already gotten my daughter some toys from the movie and definitely want her to pay close attention to the tech-wiz Shuri, T’Challa’s younger sister. Forget about damsels in distress, as they don’t exist in “Black Panther.” The Dora Milaje are Black Panther’s security force and they are all ALL powerful sheroes. These warriors are well represented in the movie and really steal the show.

The Black Panther Is More Than A Superhero.

A Black Panther is a warrior that earns that position. In the movie, this notion is on full display. T’Challa goes through rigorous training, mentally, physically and more. He also presides over Wakanda as a leader, strategist, politician, scientist and much, much more.

Wakanda Helps White People 🙂

Wakanda has been able to strengthen itself and continue to be a powerhouse, because it has never been colonized by White people. But White folks have always needed Black people! Captain America’s famous shield is made of a nearly-indestructible hybrid of Vibranium-adamantium. So, that American shield actually has some African in it. Go figure. The Black Panther utilizes a Vibranium uniform that bullets bounce off, claws that slice through just about anything and even boots which kick a lot of butt. Wakanda has a lot to consider in “Black Panther,” namely how to expand its influence to better the rest of humanity.

The Black Panther Speaks In An African Accent…

In an interview, Chadwick Bosemen explained why Black Panther uses an African accent.

“Colonialism in Africa would have it that, in order to be a ruler, his education comes from Europe. I wanted to be completely sure that we didn’t convey that idea because that would be counter to everything that Wakanda is about. It’s supposed to be the most technologically advanced nation on the planet. If it’s supposed to not have been conquered – which means that advancement has happened without colonialism tainting it, poisoning the well of it, without stopping it or disrupting it – then there’s no way he would speak with a European accent.”

Wesley Snipes Deserves More Credit, But It Is Complicated

When Wesley Snipes was at the height of his success, he wanted to play the Black Panther on the big screen. He made that reveal in June of 1992. Here is what The Hollywood Reporter stated: “Yet, some 25 years ago, it was a much different story. Snipes’ uphill battle was plagued with script re-writes, director uncertainty, storytelling clashes and inadequate CG capabilities needed to truly bring the marvelous fictional African nation of Wakanda to life.”

It was not meant to be, but Snipes successfully jump-started Marvel in movies with the highly heralded “Blade” trilogy in 1998. The series paved the way for the X-Men, Spider-man and The Hulk on the big screen. Ultimately, his efforts as a Black vampire – rather than an African king – saved Marvel, which declared bankruptcy in 1996.

Read the whole story here on how the 1992 Black Panther saga never came to life:

Black Panther Was Once A Woman!

Marvel’s “Black Panther” introduces Shuri (played by the adorable Letitia Wright), the sister of Black Panther, who is one of the breakout stars of the movie. also has gone through the rigors of training like her big brother. In the comic, we see her assume the role after some dramatic events mess with T’Challa.

Black Panther Has Been In Almost Every Marvel Super Team!

He has been in:

The X-Men (affiliated through marriage to Storm)

Fantastic Four

The Defenders

The Fantastic Force

Avengers

The Ultimates

And More…

Black Panther Is In The Illuminati

In the comics, The Illuminati are a group of superheroes that are super smart as well. They are not the clandestine and allegedly evil group that serve as the world’s puppet masters – again allegedly! Iron Man pull all of these heroes together to create a new government that decide the fate of the Earth on their level of intergalactic warfare.

Black Panther Is Rich AF!

He’s worth $90 trillion, more than anybody else in the Marvel or DC universes.

‘Nuff Said

The Black Panther is here and he’s not going anywhere. The movie, the latest in a string of wins by Marvel, is set to hit theaters nationwide on February 16. The saga stars: Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Forest Whitaker and a gang of others incomparable talents.

Bonus: Black Panther also has continually fought good, ol’ fashioned racism over the years.

Mir Fontane & Kodie Shane – “New Friends”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i2xydUhJy_s

When it comes to discussing artists that had an impressive 2017, New Jersey’s Mir Fontane should be mentioned. Releasing bangers like “Still In The Hood” and his viral-hit “Frank Ocean,” Fontane proved to be one of most notable artists rising from the East coast.

Receiving co-signs from Earl Sweatshirt, K. Michelle, Kevin Liles, Jahlil Beats, and more, Mir Fontane has developed a strong fanbase that has enabled him to sell out countless shows.

His lyrics have acted as a magnifying glass on the jungle known as Camden, and with the help of director Nicholas Stafford Briggs, Fontane took us on a tour through his city, revealing the inspiration for many of his haunting songs in Mass Appeals’ Camden: A Child Invincible documentary

The now, unsigned rapper, has touched on feeling hurt (and even more so numb) from so many of his childhood friends being dead or in jail as well as being skeptic of unfamiliar faces trying to leech off his success.

On his first release of 2018, Fontane lets us know that he isn’t ready for “New Friends” just yet. Featuring Kodie Shane, and angelic production, courtesy of Kenif Muse, the two musicians trade candid rhymes about trust and the coldness of the streets, while finding time to do just a bit of flexing.

Lil Debbie – “CLASSIC”

Reminding us she’s a boss on bouncy anthem, “Stunt,” and securing the bag on “Goyard,” Debbie has proven to be one of the most consistent artists to emerge from the West coast in the last decade. “Although this project is only a five-song EP, this is one of my favorite bodies of work,” Debbie shared with Complex

To compliment the release of the EP we also receive a short visual for “Classic.” Stream the project via Spotify below support on iTunes here.

Jay-Z Preparing To Pay Big Money To Keep His Biggest Secret!

By (@RicoPanacea)

(AllHipHop Rumors) Jay-Z’s “4:44″ album was an album of discovery. The album was one of the first times we heard speak about his marriage and home life.”4:44” as an album was released after Jay-Z’s wife Beyonce released her own personal album “Lemonade.”

A common theme on both albums is the talk of Hov having a mistress. The said mistress was neither confirmed nor denied by either of the Carters.

However, today there are rumors of Jay-Z preparing to pay off a love child. A source close to the matter says Jay-Z is willing to spend big money to avoid taking a DNA test.

“It would be a disaster for Jay if he’s proven to be the father. There are only so many times Bey will forgive his reckless behavior!,” says the source that can only be called an insider.

Rymir Satterthwaite claims in a class action lawsuit that Jay-Z got his mom pregnant in 1992. Satterthwaite also thinks that Jay-Z is trying to delay the lawsuit.

With sources saying, “Jay has tried everything his legal team can think of to deceive and delay Rymir’s suit.

But Jay is finally having to face that his only way out is to take the DNA test and admit he’s the father — or settle out of court.”

This whole thing is crazy. Only time will tell how this will play out.

Tyga’s New Girlfriend Looks A Lot Like His Ex’s Older Sister!

By Rico Panacea (@RicoPanacea)

(AllHipHop Rumors) The King of Rack City is back in the news again, but this time he’s not making headlines for the right reasons.

This time he’s making the rumor spread over his love life.

T-Raww’s new girlfriend looks an awful a lot like the older sister of his ex girlfriend. His ex Kylie Jenner recently gave birth to her first child with musician Travis Scott.

Tyga doesn’t seem to be bothered by the whole ordeal any longer.

The Rapper once posted “Hell nah thats my kid” after finding out about the pregnancy, but he seems to have moved on. Tyga and Kamilla Osman having been dating for awhile now and people can’t get over her looks.

Not going to lie. This whole thing is weird. This seems like one of those uncanny Hollywood relationships that shouldn’t work. However, the relationship might actually last and let’s hope the two will have a long prosperous relationship.

SahBabii Discusses His Unknownism Ideology, Christianity & The Devil

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_l_WkSfJ15E

(AllHipHop News) Last year, SahBabii was caught up in the religious controversy involving Offset and Lil Uzi Vert. Offset took issue with rappers wearing upside-down cross necklaces which he believed symbolized devil worshiping.

SahBabii fired back at the Migos member by calling him a “b-tch ass n-gga” and a “f-ggot.” The “Pull Up Wit Ah Stick” rapper later expressed regret for engaging in an “internet beef” with Offset, but he has not backed down from representing his Unknownism movement.

“Unknownism is an ideology I created. I created that when I was like 8. It’s just challenging and questioning everything,” explained SahBabii in an interview with Montreality. “You don’t know everything. It’s always another answer to something. It’s just basically seeking the truth. The upside-down cross – Christianity, that was forced on my ancestors.”

He continued, “I’m not demonic at all. I’m a very positive person. I help a lot of people. I don’t do stuff on camera because I do it out of the kindness of my heart. But I really don’t believe in the devil. I stay positive. I believe they’re higher beings, but it’s always questionable. Unknownism is just challenging your mind, think outside the box, always question things.”

The Atlanta, by way of Chicago, artist went on to talk about how the white supremacist group Ku Klux Klan recognizes itself as a Christian organization and his Unknownism is for all races. SahBabii also claimed “666” represents an “every-man” carbon that helps make melanin.

“I’m not a devil worshipper,” proclaimed the Warner Bros Records signee.

Kevin Hart: Steven Seagal Sh#t Himself After Getting Choked Out!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pjnXlueCvIY&feature=youtu.be

(AllHipHop Rumors) Man, F##k Steven Seagal! Back in the day, he was cool because he portrayed a tough guy that could bend arms backwards. But these days, since he opened his big mouth, he has been consistently a j#######. Well, Kevin Hart isn’t my favorite either, but at least he’s way more chill and funny that that other dude. The other day, K.H. tried to get on stage after the Eagles won the Super Bowl and was denied! What a d#ck move, but what I liked is that he owned up to it. Kevin even laughed at it. So he’s ok in my book. Now, if we could get him to stop doing short Black man jokes with The Rock, we can rock.

Kevin gets more cool points from me though. He recently told a story of how a##hole face Steven Seagal got choked out and sh#t himself on the set of a movie. Let me tell you…I thought I heard it all when I saw the headline, but you really have to listen to this one. Kevin Hart’s re-telling of the story is one of the AGES. I literally sh#t my pants, I laughed so hart…I mean hard. OK. Clearly, it is time to go.

Donald Glover Explains Why He Sees Himself As The New Tupac Shakur

(AllHipHop News) Many rap stars have made a comparison between their own life story and the lore of the late rapper/actor Tupac Shakur. Apparently, Donald Glover (aka Childish Gambino) is part of that group of 2Pac disciples.

Glover is featured in an in-depth cover story for Esquire magazine. The Grammy and Emmy winner spoke about numerous topics like filming season 2 of Atlanta, landing roles in Solo: A Star Wars Story and The Lion King, racism in America, and his connection to Pac.

“I know everybody likens themselves to Tupac a lot,” said Glover. “I am the new Tupac in a strange way. I grew up similar. I didn’t have a mom in the Black Panthers, but my parents were very pro-black. Also, my mom made me go to performing-arts high school. She was like, ‘That’s where you need to be.’ Sometimes you have to play a role for people to understand you, even though you’re far more complex than any of that. Sometimes it’s really hard to simplify that so people can eat it.”

He continued, “Storytelling is just simplifying what’s happening to you. Life is just a story. Stuff that happens to you, you just put into story mode. I just take what’s there and put it into story mode on a smaller level so that you can be like, ‘Oh my God, that’s life! I totally relate to that.'”

Nas Celebrates Black History Month By Paying Homage To Black Musicians

https://youtu.be/HOJgralVcrs

(AllHipHop News) Nasir Jones has already cemented his place in Black History. As one of the greatest artistic minds of the last 25 years, the emcee properly fits in the pantheon next to African-American musicians such as Duke Ellington, Billie Holiday, James Brown, Ella Fitzgerald, B. B. King, Aretha Franklin, and Jimi Hendrix.

The Queens-raised wordsmith’s critically acclaimed LPs are among Hip Hop’s most celebrated projects, but he still understands the importance of honoring the giants whose shoulders he stands on. Nas worked with Google to create content that pays homage to the tradition of black musicians and storytellers.

“I was raised to understand that every month was Black History Month. That every day, my ancestors, contemporaries and everyday dreamers like myself can, shall, and continue to make history,” wrote Jones. “Our music has been a relentless advocate for our story, which plays a crucial role in the American narrative: Red, white and blues, baby.”

He added, “The conversation never stops and we all continue to push it steadily along, through our arts n crafts and even within the way we speak. Bumps in the road can’t stop this. Some might argue that this here scribe is talking a whole lotta jazz but anyone fly enough and culturally astute enough to listen will hear what we’re saying.”
