Martin Shkreli’s Listening Event For Unreleased Wu-Tang Clan Music Reportedly Cancelled

(AllHipHop News) Martin Shkreli was reportedly ready to play unreleased music from Wu-Tang Clan in New York City.

The controversial public figure had announced “An Evening With Martin Shkreli” on Facebook.

The “presentation/lecture” was reportedly scheduled to take place at Webster Hall on January 20 and would have included the indicted pharmaceutical executive playing tracks from his unreleased music collection.

Shkreli reportedly purchased the one-of-a-kind Wu album Once Upon a Time in Shaolin for $2 million, and he claimed to have access to Lil Wayne’s long-delayed Tha Carter 5.

After posting promotional items on Eventbrite and social media, the man also known as “Pharma Bro” returned to Facebook to reveal his NYC event will not happen.

“Webster Hall has cancelled the 2/20 event,” posted Shkreli. “It’s sad that a couple of threats can cancel a 500 person event people wanted to go to.”

In addition, Shkreli faced protests while attempting to give a speech at Harvard on Wednesday night.

The protestors began chanting “people over profits” outside the university’s venue.

Shkreli was heavily criticized when his company raised the price of an AIDS-related drug from $13.50 to $750 per pill.

He was arrested for securities fraud in 2015.

Chance The Rapper Addresses Donald Trump’s Threat To Send “The Feds” To Chicago

(AllHipHop News) Chance The Rapper has become the latest Chicago-raised artist to weigh in on Donald Trump’s Twitter statement about the violence in Chicago.

“If Chicago doesn’t fix the horrible ‘carnage’ going on, 228 shootings in 2017 with 42 killings (up 24% from 2016), I will send in the Feds!” wrote Trump on the social media platform in January.

Chance and Chicago Bulls player Jimmy Butler were asked about the tweet during an interview with ESPN The Magazine.

“I hope he’s coming in to do some type of federal overturn of our state and city budgets in terms of schooling and housing. I’m tired of n-ggas talkin’ about Chicago like it’s a Third World country. Like, that it’s not a place of booming business with a very successful downtown and all types of new development,” stated Chance. “It sounds like he was announcin’ he was going to war with Chicago. I don’t like to look at sh-t through that lens.”

Butler added, “You go down there and you change people’s lives. You make them want to do better for the next person. And that’s when Chicago is going to be a beautiful place, and nobody’s comin’ here talkin’ about how bad it is like he said, like a Third World country. ’Cause that’s not it.”

Previously, Chi-town representatives like Common and Twista have also addressed the President’s threat to use federal power to counteract the violence in the city.

Kanye West Unveils New Yeezy Line During New York Fashion Week

(AllHipHop News) Three months after being hospitalized for exhaustion, rapper Kanye West made his first major public appearance on Wednesday, turning up for his Yeezy fashion show during New York Fashion Week.

With his wife Kim Kardashian West in the front row next to Vogue editor in chief Anna Wintour, West debuted the fifth season of his high-end athleisure wear collection for Adidas to the fashion world’s elite.

The show, which has become one of the most exclusive presentations during recent fashion weeks, was not live-streamed on the music streaming website TIDAL as some of West’s shows have been in the past.

Many social media users expressed their frustrations when they learned they would not be able to watch online, but critics were positive about the 39-year-old singer’s latest runway show, saying the emphasis was on his new collection, rather than him.

“To me it felt like the most traditional fashion show that he’s done,” said Rickie De Sole, W Magazine’s fashion market and accessories director, who was at the show.

“It had a polish to it. It felt like a serious fashion show. It felt substantial and there was less hoopla. It really was all about the fashion,” De Sole added.

The collection was dominated by denim, high-waisted jeans, hoodie sweatshirts, baseball caps, cargo pants, knee-high boots and, of course, sneakers.

Muslim model Halima Aden, the 19-year-old Somali-American who competed for Miss Minnesota wearing a burkini and who recently scored a major modeling contract with talent agency IMG, strutted the catwalk wearing a floor-length fur coat and a hijab.

Buzz had been building around the appearance of the so-called “Yeezy Runner” after West was photographed wearing the oversized white sneakers by paparazzi in January.

Kardashian appeared in athleisure wear herself, a sleeveless, see-through turtle neck shirt, track pants and an over-sized winter coat, all of which were maroon.

During the presentation, there were roughly 150 posts per minute about the Yeezy line on Twitter, according to social media analytics firm Zoomph.

The “Jesus Walks” singer emerged as one of Donald Trump’s most high-profile supporters during the 2016 election campaign and met the then president-elect at Trump Tower in New York on Dec. 13, making him the target of outrage and sarcasm from fans on social media.

Beyonce’s Beyhive Drags Carlos Santana To Hell & Back!

(AllHipHop Rumors) When will they learn to stop playing with the Beyhive! Beyonce’s loyal fan base DOES NOT play!

Listen, Carlos Santana was either heavy on the drank or he hasn’t fully listened to Bey as an artist. He couldn’t have been paying attention to her discography or her live performances. If he had been, he would’ve never made this comment.

Carlos Santana certainly played into the alternative fact that Beyonce haters love to believe: the lie that the girl can’t sing!

While I’d have to say it’s extremely disappointing when Beyonce puts out records where she’s only talking on them, I’d be remiss to not acknowledge the girls incredible vocal talent.

While many are still upset that Adele beat out the Queen Bey for Album Of The Year at the 2017, Grammys, Santana decided to add insult to injury! Santana said,

“Adele is a singer, Beyoncé a model.”

Carlos was quickly reminded of who the Beyhive was and how powerful their leader Beyonce is as he quickly tried to backtrack. Nah dawg it’s too late.

It’s ridiculous how people try to discredit Beyonce, but it’s really her own fault. She needs to stop putting out those records where she’s just talking. I never understand why the talented dumb down their talent and music to try to fit in or conform. Like Beyonce can actually SING and she’s the standard. I often wonder why she doesn’t just put out all music of her singing especially in a time when R&B is on life support.

People seem to forget Bey’s talent just because of her talk/sing-along records and the theatrics of her stage show. Don’t forget Carlos, she can sang down your favorite’s favorite. What are your thoughts on Carlos’ statement?

MURS Explains His New Song To Kanye West And Announces New Album “Captain California”

(AllHipHop News) Rapper Murs has announced the first single from his upcoming album Captain California is dedicated to Kanye West.

On the song “GBKW,” which is short for “God Bless Kanye West,” Murs discusses the stories of three different black men, and their issues struggles with mental health.

“We pray for each other and I believe in the power of prayer, but we could really use more mental health professionals in our community instead of mocking Kanye West,” Murs explains. “He’s having problems and he’s having to work through it. He’s like a football player playing hurt, to me.”

Aside from the Kanye West’s record, Murs weaves together a series of California-themed stories, all based on his love for comic books.

“On Captain California, I’m making things colorful and vivid and telling stories where I sensationalize them without glorifying them,” the rapper explained.

In addition to his girlie tracks and Cali-themed stories, Murs hopes the overall political messages on Captain California will resonate with his “majority non-black audience.”

“To me, the way you get through to anyone is your admission of guilt or to blame yourself. Then it’s saying, ‘I’ll work on this if you work on that,’” Murs said “To me, that’s the overall message that America needs to embrace if we’re going to have to work with the Right Wing and Donald Trump.”

Captain California is due out on March 10 via Strange Music. Check our Murs’ new song “GBKW (God Bless Kanye West)”:

CeeLo Green Talks Gnarly Davidson Alter-Ego, Releases Beyonce Ode “Jay Z’s Girl” (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) CeeLo Green had many people confused and intrigued by his golden outfit at this year’s Grammy Awards.

Pigeons & Planes reached out to CeeLo’s team to get more information about his decision to present the new persona “Gnarly Davidson” at the ceremony in Los Angeles.

The response came in two different artistic voices:

Gnarly Davidson: “I told you this would happen and I did it. F-ck you, CeeLo Green. I mean f-ck me, I’m famous.”

CeeLo: “When I saw him arrive on the Harley, my heart skipped a beat. Seriously, I don’t know if I can stop him now.”

CeeLo also introduced music under the name Gnarly Davison over the last few hours.

A new track, inspired by Rick Springfield’s “Jessie’s Girl,” came in the form of “Jay Z’s Girl.”

The single is an obvious ode to Jay’s wife and global superstar Beyoncé.

Gnarly Davidson opens the song by saying, “Sorry Jay, but I love her too. What am I supposed to do?”

The Goodie Mob and Gnarls Barkley member then starts singing, “Jay Z is the king and I’m probably his biggest fan. But there’s a feeling inside that I’m sure he’d understand. I’m in love with Bey and I wanna be her man.”

Republicans In Michigan Want Kid Rock For Senator

(AllHipHop News)Republicans in Michigan are looking to add some star power to Congress.

Last week, Kid Rock’s name was considered as a potential Republican contender for Democrat Debbie Setschenow’s Senate seat next year.

According to Rollcall.com, Kid Rock’s name was suggested during the Michigan Republican Party Convention last weekend.

Kid Rock, who has extended his support to a number of Republicans, including current President Donald Trump, also has no problems supporting the Confederate Flag.

In 2015, Al Sharpton’s National Action Network’s Michigan chapter protested the rapper outside of the Detroit Historical Museum, where there was an exhibit at the museum, featuring Kid Rock.

Al Sharpton’s local chapter wanted the museum to stop displaying the Confederate Flag in the Kid Rock exhibit.

The rapper had a simple answer to the controversy, which came shortly after South Carolina removed the Confederate Flag from the State House after Dylann Roof massacred nine people inside of a church.

“Please tell the people who are protesting to kiss my ass/ask me some questions,” Kid Rock said in a statement.

It has not been confirmed if Kid Rock is going to run for Senate in 2018.

Tyrese Expresses An Unpopular Opinion About Ghostwriting In Hip Hop

(AllHipHop Rumors) It looks like everyone doesn’t agree with “Black Ty”!

Recently Tyrese stopped by The Breakfast Club, and during his interview, he happened to touch on the touchy subject of ghostwriters in Hip Hop.

Rappers, emcees, and fans alike seem to continuously be divided on the subject.

It’s interesting and entertaining because some rappers, even some of the veterans from back in the day had ghostwriters. There are even rappers today that have ghostwriters, but it’s kept top secret.

I’ll say this, whether you have a ghostwriter or not, you still have to have some talent somewhere to be able to come through with, delivery, flow, style, cadence, etc.

Tyrese wants to know why it’s such a big deal to have ghostwriters in rap when every other genre, especially R&B, other people have written some of the stars’ biggest hits.

It seems like it’s just one of the unwritten rules of Hip Hop & R&B. With R&B you just have to come through and deliver with vocal talent, but in Hip Hop, you have to write your own bars to actually be considered one of the best rappers and emcees.

Tyrese says he doesn’t know why yall are so mad that rappers didn’t write their bars, when he as a singer didn’t even write “Sweet Lady”, and most of his other R&B hits. He says you can’t deny his gift, and he’s still getting the v##### off of the hits.

He even compared it to actors, as they don’t write the scripts, but they are regarded as great actors.

Are the rules in Hip Hop too harsh and too strict, or is a rapper actually writing and delivering his bars just what’s required to be considered in the top?! What are your thoughts?

Grammy CEO Denies Racism and Points to Chance the Rapper As Proof

(AllHipHop News) Grammy boss Neil Portnow has denied there is a problem with race at the annual awards ceremony after singer Adele beat out Beyonce for Album of the Year at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards.

As Beyonce’s sister Solange noted in a tweet yesterday (February 14th), a black artist has not won Album of the Year in 25 years.

The announcement of Beyonce’s loss drew a comparison to the #OscarsSoWhite controversy, when The Academy was also accused of racism for in 2015, after all 20 actors nominated in the lead and supporting acting categories were white, for the second year in a row.

“You don’t get Chance the Rapper as the Best New Artist of the Year if you don’t have a membership that isn’t diverse and isn’t open-minded and isn’t really listening to the music, and not really considering other elements beyond how great the music is,” Neil Portnow Grammy CEO Neil Portnow told Pitchfork.com.

Beyonce’s defeat sparked immediate backlash around the world and provoked debates as to who was supposed to win.
While many defended Beyonce, there were a few, like Ice-T and musician Santana, who sided with Adele.

Nevertheless, Portnow said there was no dilemma with race at the Grammys.

“We don’t, as musicians, in my humble opinion, listen to music based on gender or race or ethnicity. When you go to vote on a piece of music – at least that’s the way I approach it – is you almost put a blindfold on and you listen,” Portnow said.

Portnow said that he asked the voting members at The Grammy’s to ignore sales and marketing, in addition to the popularity and chart rankings.

Portnow also said, “It’s a democratic vote by majority.”

“So somebody could either receive or not receive a Grammy based on one vote. It could be that tight,” Portnow said of the nomination process.

Wu-Tang Affliated Rapper’s “Sliced Penis” Lawsuit Tossed

(AllHipHop News) A rapper affiliated with the Wu-Tang Clan has lost a lawsuit over allegations that he cut off his own penis.

The unusual saga started when Marques Johnson, AKA Andre Roxx, hit the headlines in April of 2014 after it was reported that he was found on a North Hollywood sidewalk, after an apparent suicide attempt.

Details of the effort went global because the rapper cut off his own penis before he plunged off the balcony.

The problem is, the rapper in question was Andre “Christ Bearer” Johnson, and not Marques Andre “Roxx” Johnson, who was in jail at the time the episode.

Andre Roxx filed a claim against TMZ.com and other outlets, alleging defamation of character.

Both rappers, who are associated with Wu-Tang Clan’s Killa Bees outfit, have similar names.

Even though TMZ.com’s story was updated, the news circulated around the world.

Andre Roxx said he was in prison at the time the story was published and was ordered into protective custody over the news stories.

Earlier this week, a judge ruled that Andre Roxx waited too long to sue the media outlets who mixed him up with the notorious suicide try.

A judge tossed libel, defamation, and invasion of privacy allegations.

Christ Bearer himself ultimately came forward to clarify the incident, insisting he was high on PCP, meth, Molly and had not been sleeping.

The rapper actually said he was proud of the weird event.

“[I’m] in the annals of history, I don’t think you got anybody who ever did it,” the rapper said shortly after he tried to kill himself.

Gucci Mane’s Artist Ralo Thinks Jeezy Is A F-ck N–gga!

(AllHipHop Rumors) Welp Gucci Mane & Jeezy already hinted that there may never be any kind of reconciliation, and this sure ain’t gonna help it. LOL.

As you know big Guwop recently signed Atlanta rapper Ralo as the first artist on his new record label, so it’s obvious who Ralo is gonna rock with at any given time.

Gucci and Ralo have another special connection given the fact that they share the same birthday.

Ralo has been certainly heating up again with the recent release of his ‘Famerican Gangster 2’ project that happens to feature Guwop, Young Thug, 21 Savage, and Lil Yachty.

Apparently Gucci cashed Ralo out with a $1 million dollar deal. Must be nice!

During his week of celebrating, Ralo has also taken a moment to explain why he doesn’t f-ck with Jeezy…. apparently it’s because of Jeezy’s character.

Ralo told Youtube channel Buzz Wars, that he used to be a fan of Jeezy that is until he met him.

“I used to think Jeezy was a real n-gga. I used to be a big fan of Jeezy, I wasn’t really a big fan of Guwop. Until you meet these n-ggas. I met the other dude, he was a f-ck n-gga, and then I met Gucci Mane, he was a real n-gga.”

Welp, don’t hold your breath on a Ralo and Jeezy collaboration, or another Jeezy and Gucci collaboration. Soooooo who do you rock with more? Jeezy or Gucci?

Remy Ma Addresses Speculation She Disses Nicki Minaj In Her Music (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) Ever since Remy Ma was released from prison in 2014, some Hip Hop fans have been hoping the Bronx emcee will go to lyrical war against Nicki Minaj.

It has gotten to the point that whenever Remy or Nicki release a song or verse, people comb through the lyrics to see if there any subtle shots directed at the other.

Remy and her musical partner Fat Joe recently stopped by The Breakfast Club, and the interview included a conversation about the supposed subliminal feud with Minaj.

“If you look at the history of Remy Ma, whenever I’ve had a problem with any female in the entire game I will say your name,” declared the “Money Showers” spitter. “I do not want you sitting there thinking, ‘Oh my god, is she talking about me?'”

She continued, “I’m going to say your government [name]. I’m going to look it up. I’m going to say your mother’s name, your father’s name, your kids’ name. I want you to know that I’m talking about you.”

Rem went on to question why she constantly gets put in the same discussion with other female rappers.

“I don’t even know why they keep comparing me to these girls. I feel like I’m better than a lot of these guys. I will rap circles around them with no problem, with my eyes closed,” added Remy.

The joint Remy Ma and Fat Joe album Plata O Plomo is scheduled for release on February 17.

Remy’s sophomore solo LP Seven Winters & Six Summers is expected to be released later this year.

Will Drake Be Part Of Kanye’s “Yeezy Season 5” Fashion Show?

(AllHipHop Rumors) Kanye West‘s been talking about collaborating with Drake on a joint project for years.

The two superstars may, or may not, get together for a full album, but there is talk Drizzy could be part of Ye’s upcoming fashion show.

A “Yeezy Season 5” flyer with Drake and Kanye’s name is traveling around the net.

The words “Lost Hills” are also printed four times on the same flyer.

It’s not clear if the image is official, but Kanye has not denied the rumors either.

Could we see a new OVO-G.O.O.D. collaboration too?

“Yeezy Season 5” is going to take place today (February 15) at New York Fashion Week.

Was Fat Joe Taking A Shot At Chance The Rapper Over Grammy Loss?

(AllHipHop Rumors) The fact that the “c” in Chance was capitalized in Joe’s post got my attention too. LOL.

Sooooooo the internetz seem to feel that Fat Joe was taking a shot at Chance The Rapper after losing best Rap Song to the Chicago rapper at the 2017 Grammy Awards.

Mr. “All The Way Up” hopped on Instagram to seemingly throw shade at Hip Hop’s biggest winner of the evening.

The Bronx native was excited about the nomination, but to some came off as a sore loser soon after.

“I hear you gotta sell it to snatch the Grammy! Whats the Chance of that lol congrats to the winners! Theres always next year ?? Plata O Plomo season. This Friday!!! #plataoplomo”

Sell what Joe? What’s the tea bro? LOL.

Anyway fans let him know that hating doesn’t look good on him in the comments. Do you think Fat Joe was hating on Chance, or was he just cracking a joke in good fun? Do you think Chance should’ve won over Joe?

What I do know is that, Hip Hop & R&B artists need to support each other period, and they need to not make a big deal about getting sh-tted on by the Grammys, when they won’t even show up to award shows like the BET Awards and the NAACP Image Awards to collect their awards. Ahhhh carry on!
