Lil Pump Speaks After Getting Arrested On Firearm Charges

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4LfJnj66HVQ

(AllHipHop News) Gazzy “Lil Pump” Garcia doesn’t seem to be worried about getting arrested this week. TMZ caught up with the “Gucci Gang” rapper outside the Sylmar Juvenile Court in California, and Pump was mostly focused on the abilities of his legal team.

“We got rich lawyers. We got real lawyers. The best lawyers on the planet,” stated the 17-year-old Florida native.

Pump then showed off his ankle monitor. He also spit a short freestyle about house arrest and popping Xanax.

News broke this week that Lil Pump was taken into custody following a firearm being discharged in his San Fernando Valley home. His management claimed a group of men tried to enter the apartment and Pump returned fire at them.

However, police investigators believe Pump likely fired the shot by accident. Authorities recovered a handgun, ammunition, and marijuana at the location.

Kidd Kidd Off Of G-Unit Records?

By Rico Panacea (@RicoPanacea)

(AllHipHop Rumors) Kidd Kidd has been one of Hip-Hop’s most underrated acts for well over a decade. The rapper has been signed to G-Unit Records since 2011.

This follows a stint for the rapper with Young Money Entertainment. Being a New Orleans native, his work with the Louisiana based company made the most sense until they severed ties.

Kidd Kidd was one of the first artists signed to Young Money alongside T-Streets and Gudda Gudda as the group Squad Up. He even appeared on Lil Wayne’s hit single “Mrs. Officer” in 2008.

“Mrs. Officer” was a single from Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter 3 album and also featured singer Bobby Valentino. However, Kidd Kidd left the company after not appearing in the video for the single.

Kidd Kidd was shot six times after meeting with 50 Cent, but 50 would still sign the rapper a month later after sympathizing with the situation. Kidd Kidd would be featured on a number of projects after signing with the label.

The biggest project would be 50 Cent’s 2014 Animal Ambition album. Recently, Kidd Kidd sat down for an interview with Hot 97 and talked about leaving G-Unit.

“There’s no trouble…no beef or nothing like that,” said Kidd Kidd. “I was working. I was getting my music together. Like I said. I was getting my personal business everything together. A lot of personal things I had to go through.,” he continued.

Kidd Kidd said he now feels ready to work once again and is business working on his independent releases.

All of 6ix9ine’s L.A. Shows Canceled And He Isn’t Happy About It!

By Rico Panacea (@RicoPanacea)

(AllHipHop Rumors) 6ix9ine has been waving waves this week for his back and forth with LA gang members. It all started after the rapper stated that he checks in nowhere and to nobody.

After that we saw a video get posted from OG Spanky Loco telling 6ix9ine to do the right thing and check in. 6ix9ine would take to social media yesterday and posted a video of him allegedly in LA already.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BfMgMleB478/

The internet would soon fight back in an attempt to expose the rapper. He was being exposed for actually being in Houston in the video and not in LA at all.

https://www.google.com/sorry/index?continue=https://www.youtube.com/watch?pbjreload=10%26v=e0wgE5t5pbg&q=EgQi24toGMKQg_kFIhkA8aeDS0t41wvqbzNahZFejJiWc8fcO26cMgFy

All three of 6ix9ine’s California performances have been canceled. 6ix9ine recently released a new video stating that he didn’t cancel the appearances.

The rapper states that he will still be in LA for NBA All-Star weekend even though he isn’t getting paid to perform.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BfOwtvqA3hg/?hl=en&taken-by=6ix9ine_

“To all the fans…I want y’all to know Tekashi 6ix9ine and the Scum Gang did not cancel no shows in LA.,” said 6ix9ine. “If y’all want to act like b##ches, we’ll cut no fly zone in East Coast.,” he continued.

Talk about a whirlwind week. I don’t think I’ve ever seen an entertainer involved in this much foolishness. At this point, this is just my opinion.

You have to know how to separate your lifestyle from your business. It’s cool if you want to make money doing shows. It’s cool if you want to make money off the block.

The problem occurs when you bring block issues into entertainment venues and affect innocent people. That’s a slippery slope that I don’t think should be traveled.

That’s just some food for thought.

Donald Glover Heading To U.K. For “Farewell” Childish Gambino Show

(AllHipHop News) Donald Glover is to perform as Childish Gambino at Britain’s Lovebox festival for a farewell gig before retiring his rap alter ego.

The actor, writer, and musician revealed last year that his next Childish Gambino album, the follow-up to 2016’s Awaken, My Love!, would be his last under the stage name.

Bosses at the London event announced 34-year-old Donald as one of this year’s Lovebox headliners. It marks the only gig to date that Donald has announced since he confirmed plans to retire Childish Gambino in January.

Demand for the star has rocketed in recent years after the success of his TV comedy-drama Atlanta, which he writes and stars in.

He can next be seen as young Lando Calrissian in “Solo: A Star Wars Story,” and despite his full schedule, last month he announced his farewell album would be released this year.

N.E.R.D. and grime star Skepta are also headlining Lovebox. Diplo, Action Bronson, Big Boi, and SZA, who is billed as a “very special guest” are set to play at the festival as well, which will take place in London’s Gunnersbury Park on July 13th and 14th.

Drake Treats Miami Housekeeper To A Shopping Spree

(AllHipHop News) Rapper Drake recently surprised a hotel maid in Miami, Florida by treating her to a private shopping spree after learning about her daily four-hour commute to work.

The “God’s Plan” hitmaker read all about Odalie Paret in a 2017 profile piece for the Miami Herald newspaper, in which she explained how she has to take two buses to get to work at the luxury Fontainebleau Miami Beach hotel, where the Haitian mother-of-five has been employed as a housekeeper for more than two decades.

Her story inspired Drake to show her some love while he was in the city earlier this month, and he arranged for Paret to be offered a massage in the hotel spa, followed by dinner at a top steakhouse – all while keeping his identity as her benefactor a secret.

She was then chauffeured to a Saks Fifth Avenue store, which had been closed to the public, where she was met by Drake and American footballer Antonio Brown, a Miami native, who encouraged her and two other women to enjoy a 45-minute shopping spree on them.

“I always just saw him on the TV. So I said, ‘Drake!'” Paret recalled to the Miami Herald about coming face-to-face with the generous star. “It made me happy… I thank him so much.”

She ended up treating herself to two pairs of pricey shoes, a $2,000 Valentino handbag, four perfumes, and a $6,000 white gold necklace with diamonds.

Pittsburgh Steelers star Antonio documented the act of kindness in a video posted on his Snapchat account, in which Drake is featured saying, “See what we’re doing, man? Took the ladies out for a nice little shopping spree today. Giving back, that’s what we do.”

The special trip took place during Drake’s week of giving in Miami at the start of February, when he made a $25,000 donation to Miami Senior High School and gave students clothes from his OVO brand, before going on to surprise student Destiny Paris James by giving her a $50,000 check towards her University of Miami tuition.

He also spent an estimated $50,000 paying for groceries for shoppers at the Sabor Tropical Supermarket and donated $50,000 to a homeless shelter for women and children

Reports suggest the kind gestures were filmed for inclusion in his upcoming music video for the song God’s Plan.

After the giving spree, he took to Instagram and gushed, “Last 3 days were the best I have had in a very long time…there’s nothing like seeing people experience a joyful moment when you can tell they need it the most.”

Lil Pump And His Mom Investigated Over Shooting In Apartment

(AllHipHop News) Rapper Lil Pump is in some serious trouble with the law, after being accused of firing a gun at a house.

According to reports, police were called to the rap star’s apartment in the San Fernando Valley yesterday (February 15), after his manager called and claimed a group of men were attempting to forcibly enter his apartment.

The “Gucci Gang” rapper claimed that as the men attempted to enter his apartment they let off shots, and he returned fire.

As police investigated, they noticed a bullet had been fired through the front door, from inside the house.

The cops recovered a handgun in the bushes beneath the balcony of the 17-year-old’s apartment, along with some ammunition and marijuana inside of the residence, which Lil Pump shares with his mother.

Police sent Lil Pump to a juvenile detention center and released him on house arrest, as they investigate the incident.

Pump’s managers claims one of the suspected intruders was hit, but police believe the rapper may have accidentally fired the gun himself.

Lil Pump’s mom is being investigated for endangering a minor and having an unsecured gun at home.

Is Cardi B Pregnant Or Not!

By Rico Panacea (@RicoPanacea)

(AllHipHop Rumors) Cardi B has been one of music brightest new stars for much of the past year. She’s been featured one some of 2017’s hottest singles. Her star power even led to her being nominated for two Grammy Awards at the 2018 award show.

At the show, she performed her “Finesse” feature verse alongside music megastar Bruno Mars. Both performers are signed to Atlantic Records and were scheduled to begin touring soon.

However, all that could be changing soon as TMZ is reporting that Cardi B is currently pregnant. One of Cardi B’s team member confirmed with TMZ that Cardi B is 3-4 months pregnant. Cardi is currently engaged to Migos star Rapper Offset and the two MC’s have been in a relationship since mid 2017.

Well, the pregnancy could possibly cost Cardi B a lot of money.

“Cardi and her team expect to finish a new album before end of summer … and the plan is to tie the release to a 2-month tour with Bruno Mars, which kicks off in September. When you do the math, you see the problem. If she’s at the beginning of the second trimester, she’ll give birth sometime in August…Cardi, who had a hugely successful Super Bowl commercial, has other commercial deals on the table. She also has offers to collab with other artists. On top of all that … she’s supposed to start filming a movie sometime next month, which could be problematic once she approaches her 5th month.”

Cardi B also is scheduled to perform at this year’s Coachella in April.

According to Cardi B, she isn’t pregnant. So we’re going to take her word for it.

Migos Debut ‘Culture’ Documentary

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HI-mXMr8glQ

(AllHipHop News) Many Migos followers like to compare the Atlanta-raised rap trio to the iconic Beatles. What came off to some observers as just an exercise in trolling got some credence when Offset, Quavo, and Takeoff tied a Hot 100 chart record previously only held by John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr.

With the success of their recently released third studio LP, Culture II, Migos are giving the public a look behind the scenes of their rise with a new documentary. The 18-minute C U L T U R E film is streaming on Tidal. Quality Control’s Coach K and Pee narrate the doc which follows the Migos members and their fans in the hours leading up to the Culture album release party.

“A year ago today we released Culture. We knew what we had and we wanted the world to hear it. But we honestly didn’t know what was about to happen,” states Coach K in C U L T U R E. “Two million albums sold, 15 million singles later, and we still here. What you’re about to watch and experience is the moment where it all happened.”

Pee can be heard saying, “They’re not making music for just one particular group. It’s called Culture for a reason.”

Migos have also appeared on Tidal in other capacities in recent weeks. The TIDAL X: Rolling Stone Live concert streamed on the platform, and Elliott Wilson interviewed the “Stir Fry” rhymers for a two-part CRWN conversation following the release of Culture II.

Tidal members and non-members can watch Migos’ C U L T U R E documentary by visiting tidal.com.

(AllHipHop News) Fresh off his sold-out shows at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall and two new stand-up specials on Netflix, Dave Chappelle is reuniting with The Roots for the Hip Hop band’s annual festival. The 2018 “Roots Picnic” is set for the Festival Pier in Philadelphia on June 2.

The Grammy-winning group will headline the event with a “Jam Session” hosted by Chappelle. The comedian shared a stage with The Roots during his 2017 residency in NYC and for his 2005 documentary/concert film Block Party.

Other acts tapped for the Music Stage include Lil Uzi Vert, Dirty Projectors, 2 Chainz, 6lack, DVSN, Brandy, Rapsody, Rich The Kid, and more. There will also be a Live Mixtape performance by Black Thought with Fabolous and Jadakiss as well as DJ Drama’s Gangsta Grillz with special guests.

We see so many homogenous festival lineups, and we’ve always prided ourselves on trying to create unique moments for the Roots Picnic attendee that they can’t see anywhere else. The Roots headline collaborative set is always unique, and in addition we are very bullish on the podcast space, so we’ve decided to dedicate and program an entire stage with some of the best culturally relevant podcasts,” says Shawn Gee, The Roots’ manager and President of Live Nation Urban.

“Roots Picnic” is produced by Shawn Gee along with Roots founding members, Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson and Tarik “Black Thought” Trotter. Tickets will be available for purchase beginning Friday, February 16 at 12 pm ET at ticketmaster.com.

No Spoilers: The Secret Magic Black Panther’s Marvelous Success!

By Nola Haynes

(AllHipHop Opinion) Black Panther is the crown jewel in recent Black cinema because it is a major, motion picture attached to the ultra-successful Marvel brand. Black Panther the superhero or T’Challa the king, is not merely the Black, pseudo-superhero sidekick, good for a one-liner every-so-often. Black Panther reminds audiences that Black people did not just pop up along Atlantic coastlines forcefully displaced and enslaved. Rather, it reclaims Africa’s mantle as the cradle of civilization with all the swag, attitude and rhythm of the diaspora.

Until Valkyrie in Thor: Ragnarok, women of color were completely absent within the MCU’s vast world of humans, superhumans aliens and villains (Storm and Misty Knight are separate issues, but you get the picture). Then it happened, the meme heard around all of Blackdom, Lupita in that yellow dress and two bomb Black statuesque women flanking T’Challa, ripped to shreds, wearing gold chokers to die for. We had little context, we just knew it was new, bold and snatched to the heavens. Collectively we asked, who are these superwomen and can I rock a bald head too? The answer is they are the Dora Milaje – pronounced “dora-meh-LAH-shay.” This group of Wakandan female warriors are elite body guards to king T’Challa (first appearance Black Panther Vol 3 #1, November 1998). Historically, the Dora Milaje were women groomed to marry the king of Wakanda. Eventually their role expanded to warriors loyal to Wakanda, but chiefly to the king. Doras only communicate with each other and the king in the Hausa dialect, which is everything.

While Black Panther is not the first Black superhero to break boundaries, let’s give that to Wesley Snipes in the Blade trilogy (and tried to get T’Challa in the movies in the early 90’s); Black Panther is the first stand-alone film within the wildly successful Marvel Universe to prominently feature and glamorize women of color. This reality has long since plagued feature films with Black, male leads. Oftentimes, Black men are partnered with non-Black women, which automatically tells us, this film is not for you or about you. The Dora Milaje elevate the Black, female beauty aesthetic beyond niche to mainstream. This is an important social, cultural and political moment for Black women. We are celebrating #blackgirlmagic, #blackgirlsrock and singing the lyrics to Solange’s “Don’t Touch My Hair” like an old Negro spiritual. This awakening around the Black, female aesthetic is not new, but it’s here with a vengeance.

To the critics that remind us that Wakanda is a fictitious world, therefore Black women can rock bantu knots and bald heads without judgement. This is where I remind folks that representation matters, Hollywood box office receipts matter, therefore Black dollars matter. Black Panther has a forward glance, an Afrofuturism appeal that evolves and disrupts the status quo. I won’t even entertain the “it’s too Black” nonsense. Turn up Solange, Kendrick and SZA, grab your crew and get ready for all this Wakandan #blackgirlmagic.

Kanye, the Lazy Pops?

By Ne’ Richa (@iAmNeRicha)

(AllHipHop Rumors) According to sources, Kanye is taking the scenic route when it comes to responsibility and daddy duties for baby Chicago.

It is being said that Kim is taking on all the major headaches that come with a newborn baby in the house, and Kanye has been trapping himself in the studio for long intervals just to escape.

Kim is also apparently complaining that Kanye has been off of his meds, and therefore, his “out there” behavior is starting to push Kim away. The rumor mill worked overtime when the streets whispered that the two were headed for divorce.

While I am not certain, I would assume that adding a newborn to the mix will more than likely make tensions more unfavorable than better.

Things certainly seemed ok yesterday on Valentine’s Day, where Yeezy returned to Instagram with a vengeance and for almost 8 hours straight, he posted a bunch of pictures of famous couples, including himself and Kim.

Maybe Kanye has another genius album to release as a consolation prize to all this drama?

Michael B. Jordan Talks Listening To 2Pac For ‘Black Panther’ Role

(AllHipHop News) Black Panther hits theaters tonight. The cast of the highly anticipated Marvel production has been making the media rounds to promote the movie.

Michael B. Jordan appears in the film as Erik “Killmonger” Stevens, the main antagonist. During an interview with Beats 1’s Ebro Darden, the New Jersey native talked about using music by Tupac Shakur to prepare for the character.

“I was listening to a lot of Pac,” revealed Jordan. “And honestly just spending a lot of time by myself you know I’m saying. This cat you know Killmonger had everything kind of taken away from him. He was kind of forced to be in isolation with this thing he knew but didn’t have anybody to really talk to about it and couldn’t really get there.”

The 31-year-old actor continued, “So for me to try to build up that frustration or what it feels like to have that and not be able to say nothing, but just also I feel like certain characters’ background directly affects their agenda, where they’re going with what they want.”

Travis Scott was another Hip Hop artist that inspired Jordan’s performance in Black Panther. He also discussed listening to speeches by Huey P. Newton, Fred Hampton, Marcus Garvey, and Malcolm X.

“I’m not saying just because you’re pro-black doesn’t mean your ‘anti’ anything,” said Jordan. “So I needed to get in a certain mind-state of how my character was feeling so I can get everybody else to know how he feels. I needed that and for me I was studying Magneto. For me, as an artist, the inspiration comes in all forms whether it be fictional or nonfiction. So it’s something that – yeah, I was kind of a little bit all over the place.”

Black Panther: The Album includes contributions from Travis Scott, Kendrick Lamar, SZA, Schoolboy Q, 2 Chainz, Khalid, Swae Lee, Vince Staples, Ab-Soul, Anderson .Paak, James Blake, Jay Rock, Future, The Weeknd, and more. But which record from the soundtrack is Michael B. Jordan’s favorite?

“I’m going to go with [SOB X RBE’s] ‘Paramedic!’ because that’s one of Killmonger’s joints,” offered Jordan.

Kanye West Settles Lawsuit Over Canceled “Saint Pablo Tour” Dates

(AllHipHop News) Back in 2016, Kanye West was forced to cancel dates of his “Saint Pablo Tour” following several public meltdowns. The Lloyd’s of London insurance company refused to pay out for the scrapped concerts which led to West’s Very Good Touring suing the insurer for $10 million.

Rolling Stone reports West and Lloyd’s have settled the suit. Howard King, the attorney for Very Good Touring, said, “The dispute has been amicably resolved.”

After canceling those “Saint Pablo Tour” shows, Kanye was hospitalized for mental health treatment. There was also speculation early last year that the Hip Hop star was considering going back out on the road to complete the musical trek.

Meek Mill Files Appeal Petition Over Cop’s Alleged False Testimony

(AllHipHop News) Meek Mill’s legal team is working hard to get their client out of prison. The latest attempt comes in the form of a Post-Conviction Relief Act petition.

According to Billboard, lawyers are requesting Meek’s release on bond or dismissal of the charges because of a report that Philadelphia police officer Reginald V. Graham allegedly gave false testimony at the rapper’s 2008 trial. Graham’s name was supposedly on a District Attorney Office’s list of cops known to lie in court and abuse suspects.

Meek (born Robert Williams) was arrested by Graham in 2007 on drug and gun charges. The now-retired officer took the stand and claimed an informant purchased crack from Meek, but no physical evidence was presented at trial to corroborate his account.

The petition also cites sworn affidavits from former Philadelphia police officers Jerold Gibson and Jeffrey Walker. Gibson was present during Meek’s 2007 arrest, and he disputes large parts of Graham’s testimony. Walker stated that Graham’s arrest warrant for Williams “bears the hallmarks of a fraudulent affidavit, written to manufacture probable cause for the search warrant.”

Meek Mill is currently serving 2-4 years for probation violation, a charge that is an extension of the original ’08 conviction. The “R.I.C.O.” rhymer was incarcerated in 2017 for illegally riding a motor bike in New York City.

Eric B & Rakim’s Twitter Page Deletes Tweets Criticizing Modern Rap

(AllHipHop News) This week, Eric B & Rakim’s verified Twitter account felt the need to express feelings about the state of modern rap. The legendary Hip Hop group sent out two specific tweets about the “tragic” fall of the genre.

“You are now witnessing the devolution of rap music. The death of poetry and smoothness, they use this. The absence of a message. The inability to create meaningful change through words and verses, but the worse is, they don’t even know they hurt this artful purpose, it’s tragic,” posted the Paid in Full album creators.

Then on Wednesday, the account returned to the platform to add, “You need to look real close at this previous tweet that’s reached almost 1 million people already and see what you read. It says ‘rap’ not ‘hip hop.’ If you don’t know the difference, you can’t make a difference. #KNOWtheLEDGE

However, both tweets have now been deleted from the social media site. There was no explanation given for why the posts were removed, but the message did spark lively internet debates about current rap music.
