Joe Budden Says Drake’s “Diplomatic Immunity” Bars Weren’t A Diss

(AllHipHop News) Drake had a lot of people talking when he dropped his Scary Hours EP, partially because of lines perceived to be directed at one of his rivals. Drizzy spits on the “Diplomatic Immunity” record, “Sh-t is complex like short n-ggas round tall ladies. I gotta watch who I’m talking to like it’s all ages. I’ve seen buddin’ careers turn to sit around and talk about other careers, judging their peers.”

Many observers believed those bars were a subliminal diss aimed at the Complex News show Everyday Struggle and its former host Joe Budden. Somewhat surprisingly, Budden did not take Drake’s words as disrespectful.

“Where’s this diss? Tell me where the diss is,” stated the emcee-turned-pundit on the latest episode of his podcast. “Him saying, ‘I’ve seen buddin’ careers turn around and start judging other careers’ – I mean that shouldn’t be a surprise or secret to anybody. He clearly said how he felt about my career on [French Montana’s] ‘No Shopping’ when he said there was promise there and you fell flat on your f-cking face.”

Budden went on to say Drake can’t lyrically come at him now when the New Jersey native dropped several diss tracks blasting the OVO leader over a year ago. Back in 2016, Joe launched a multi-song assault against Drake which began with “Making A Murderer Pt. 1.”

“He can’t be asking me to dance two years after a dance,” declared Budden. The podcaster added, “I’m no longer dancing. I’m retired from dancing. My feet are done.”

Additionally, Budden claimed, at some point, Drake sent him a direct message stating he supported the outspoken commentator. Joe also proposed the “Diplomatic Immunity” lyrics “knowledge from n-ggas who did not contribute to none of this here” were intended for Everyday Struggle co-host DJ Akademiks.

“I don’t take sh-t so personally like the other rappers do,” said Budden.

Quavo, Takeoff & Offset Read Lines As The Hyenas From ‘The Lion King’

https://youtu.be/-0xZNTHUgJE?t=12m49s

(AllHipHop News) When the official cast of The Lion King remake was announced in November, Quavo reached out to Disney on Twitter. The Migos member (sarcastically?) suggested his rap group should be considered to play the three hyenas in the film.

Unfortunately for Huncho, Disney Studios tapped Eric Andre (Azizi), Florence Kasumba (Shenzi), and Keegan-Michael Key (Kamari) to voice Scar’s carnivorous accomplices. That did not stop The Cruz Show from getting Quavo, Takeoff, and Offset to read lines as the original hyenas Shenzi, Banzai, and Ed on the radio.

Jon Favreau’s (Iron Man, The Jungle Book) version of The Lion King is due out in 2019. The movie will star Donald Glover as Simba, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter as Nala, James Earl Jones as Mufasa, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, Seth Rogen as Pumbaa, and Billy Eichner as Timon.

Migos are dropping their Culture II album on January 26. Production for the set was provided by Pharrell Williams, Kanye West, Metro Boomin, Zaytoven, Murda Beatz, and more.

Fat Joe Tells Ebro: Lil Uzi Vert Is A Bad Version Of Lil Wayne

(AllHipHop News) Fat Joe and Dre of Cool & Dre will appear on Ebro’s Beats 1 radio show this afternoon. The interview includes Joey Crack discussing Lil Wayne’s influence on today’s rappers.

A sneak peek of the conversation has been released. Joe can be heard contrasting Atlantic Records newcomer Lil Uzi Vert to the five-time Grammy winner.

“Lil Uzi is a bad version of Lil Wayne. It’s not as good as Lil Wayne,” says Fat Joe. “I’m gonna just be honest with you. And he’s good and I like his songs.”

The “Pick It Up” rhymer continues, “Lil Uzi I got nothing but love for you. He ain’t as good as Lil Wayne. That’s impossible. Lil Wayne was considered – he’s one of the greatest. He’s a GOAT. Not only that, he was lyrically considered the best rapper on earth for a couple of years. Lil Uzi Vert ain’t gonna get that.”

Fat Joe also admits he bought Uzi’s Luv Is Rage 2. The Bronx representative tells Ebro, “It’s a good album. I don’t want to take it disrespectful in no way, but Lil Wayne is Lil Wayne. That’s different.”

The Fat Joe/Dre interview on Beats 1 Radio will air today (January 24) at 4 pm ET. Listen to the preview on iTunes.

Erykah Badu: I See Good In Everybody, I Saw Something Good In Hitler

(AllHipHop News) Erykah Badu is known to go against the grain when it comes to popular opinion, but the Neo-Soul Queen’s statements about Adolf Hitler may rub some people the wrong way. During a conversation with David Marchese of Vulture, Badu offered positive comments about the generally despised leader of Nazi Germany.

Marchese asked the Baduizm album creator about the backlash she received in the Israeli press nearly a decade ago. Badu was accused of promoting anti-Semitism because of her support for Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan. The question eventually led to a back-and-forth between Badu and Marchese about Hitler.

Read the exchange below.

Badu: [Farrakhan] has flaws — like any man — but I’m not responsible for that*.* I said I’ve appreciated what he’s done for a lot of black Americans. I mean, I’m not Muslim, I’m not Christian, I’m not anything; I’m an observer who can see good things and bad things. If you say something good about someone, people think it means that you’ve chosen a side. But I don’t choose sides. I see all sides simultaneously.

Marchese: That’s not something most of us are good at.
Badu: We’re not, and I’m okay with that. I’m also okay with anything I had to say about Louis Farrakhan. But I’m not an anti-Semitic person. I don’t even know what anti-Semitic was before I was called it. I’m a humanist. I see good in everybody. I saw something good in Hitler.

Marchese: Come again?
Badu: Yeah, I did. Hitler was a wonderful painter.

Marchese: No, he wasn’t! And even if he was, what would his skill as a painter have to do with any “good” in him?**
Badu: Okay, he was a terrible painter. Poor thing. He had a terrible childhood. That means that when I’m looking at my daughter, MarsBadu’s daughter with enigmatic rapper Jay Electronica. She also has another daughter, Puma, with the West Coast rapper the D.O.C., I could imagine her being in someone else’s home and being treated so poorly, and what that could spawn. I see things like that. I guess it’s just the Pisces in me.

Marchese: I’m perfectly willing to accept that you might be operating on a higher moral plane than I am, but I think going down the route of “Hitler was a child once too” is maybe turning the idea of empathy into an empty abstraction.
Badu: Maybe so. It doesn’t test my limits — I can see this clearly. I don’t care if the whole group says something, I’m going to be honest. I know I don’t have the most popular opinion sometimes.

Marchese: But don’t you think that someone as evil as Hitler, who did what he did, has forfeited the right to other people’s empathy?
Badu: Why can’t I say what I’m saying? Because he did such terrible things?

Marchese: Well, yes. But it’s also disheartening to hear you say that at a time, like now, when racism and anti-Semitism are so much in the air. Why would you want to risk putting fuel on that fire?
Badu: You asked me a question. I could’ve chosen not to answer. I don’t walk around thinking about Hitler or Louis Farrakhan. But I understand what you’re saying: “Why would you want to risk fueling hateful thinking?” I have a platform, and I would never want to hurt people. I would never do that. I would never even imagine doing that. I would never even want a group of white men who believe that the Confederate flag is worth saving to feel bad. That’s not how I operate.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ddt7qV5iVH0&feature=youtu.be

(AllHipHop News) Last October, PnB Rock was accused of being involved in a physical altercation at the Rolling Loud Festival in the Bay Area. Reports suggested the 2017 XXL Freshman and A Boogie wit da Hoodie jumped Lil B.

PnB spoke about the incident during an interview with Mass Appeal. The Philadelphia native claimed he was not directly part of the fight.

“I don’t know what the f-ck happened with that sh-t. I just seen n-ggas fighting. Some of them had to be my people, so I just went over there to see what’s up. Just like a regular person would,” recalled Rock. “But my security guards were holding me back too much. I couldn’t really bust no moves even if I wanted to bust a move. It wasn’t my situation. It just so happened my people were there with people that were in the mix with some sh-t.”

LA Prosecutors Seize Phone, Issue Subpoenas Over Suge Knight Interview

(AllHipHop News) Hip-Hop mogul Suge Knight was in more trouble, over an interview conducted for an upcoming documentary series.

Suge Knight is currently being held on a $10 million dollar bail for running over and killing Terry Carter and attempting to murder Cle “Bone” Sloan in January of.

Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, and others were taping a commercial for the movie “Straight Outta Compton” when Suge showed up and became involved in an altercation in the parking lot of a hamburger restaurant in Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department have issued grand jury subpoenas to a pair of television producers working on a docuseries called “Death Row Chronicles.”

Prosecutors say Suge Knight broke the law by giving an interview since he is only allowed to speak to his attorney.

Suge has frequently criticized prosecutors, maintaining he could not get a fair trial and that “child murderers” and “cop killers” at the same correctional institution were being treated like kings.

A producer of “Death Row Chronicles” claims the cops recently showed up to her house with a search warrant and confiscated her phone over her interview with Suge.

“Believing I had no alternative and frightened by the unexpected arrival of two ‘homicide’ officers at my home, early in the morning, I gave them my iPhone and the passcode and showed them it worked,” producer Nora Donaghy said in court documents obtained by TheBlast.

Investigators have not revealed what they are looking for on the phones. Nora Donaghy is asking a court to order the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office to give her phone.

The “Death Row Chronicles” docuseries is set to Premiere on February 20.

Nelly Rape Accuser Seeks Injunction Against Rapper’s Penis

(AllHipHop News) Nelly’s rape accuser is back in court, and this time she seeking an injunction – against the rapper’s penis.

Monique Greene maintains Nelly raped her on a tour bus in Washington, in early October.

However, Nelly was cleared when police declined to file charges against the rapper since Greene refused to press charges against the St. Louis rapper.

Monique Greene claims that Nelly has developed a system to abuse female fans, which starts by inviting them backstage.

Once the rapper has the female of his choice and in a secluded area, he begins to masturbate in front of them, “knowing the women” are “drawn to” and cannot “resist his penis,” Greene alleges in court documents.

She maintains that if the women resist, Nelly accosts and/or assaults them and e######### all over his victims.

Monique Greene is asking for an injunction against Nelly and his penis according to published reports.

J. Lo Teases Cardi B Collab, Cardi’s Sister Blasted For Colorism Post

By Ne’Richa

(AllHipHop Rumors) J. Lo sneaked a peak into her and Cardi B’s new collab. In the short video, J. Lo can be seen dancing to “Bodak Yellow”, then a quick preview of the song plays.

The song will be titled “Queiro Dinero”, and with J. Lo’s massive worldwide following and Cardi’s ever growing fanbase, it’s to be expected to hit the ground running.

In the meanwhile, Love & Hip Hop Miami’s Amara La Negra decided to take to The Breakfast Club to express her thoughts on the rapper’s success.

She feels that her complexion has afforded her some assistance with rising to the top…to which Cardi’s sister, Hennessy Carolina, quickly jumped to defend her sister against.

She reminded her in a long winded Instagram post that Cardi had to hustle, and hustle HARD to get where she is. She also reminded her that she had to strip just to get on, which in itself proves that her complexion didn’t help much.

“Okay I like her she’s obviously beautiful,” wrote Carolina. “This is the same message my sister has been trying to spread for a while now, but it doesn’t count because she’s not so dark? People f*** with Cardi because of who she is, not because she’s light skinned. I think that’s what Charlamagne was saying, a girl from her same country with her same hair in braids from the hood that had to become a stripper because it was hard for her to find a job BECAUSE IF [SIC] HER HAIR AND COLOR. […] We are woke and we’re fighting for the same rights girl.”

Amara then defended her own opinion in the comments section, stating that she always had love and support for Cardi, and that she feels Hennessy completely misunderstood her interview answers.

Fans started going in on Hennessy because they felt like she didn’t listen to the whole interview or comprehend it, and they felt like she was only going off because she heard Cardi’s name.

What’s next? Light skin versus Brown skin beef? We got to do better…, but colorism is very real, unfortunately.
