Producer Accuses Drake Of Stealing ‘Scary Hours’ Artwork

By Rico Panacea (@RicoPanacea)

(AllHipHop Rumors) The 6 God can’t seem to make his way out of the headlines. I say that in a joking fashion alluding to his previous single.

Drake has been making his rounds through the media to end 2017 and begin 2018. Reasons vary from opening a new restaurant to curving actresses.

Late in 2017, a reference track to the Baka “Live Up To My Name” single emerged. The reference track featured Drake spitting an identical verse to Baka’s.

Now the Toronto native is making rumor rounds again for the wrong lyrical reasons, this time for allegedly stealing the cover art for his latest EP and an artist’s flow for one of the singles.

Drake released his latest project ‘Scary Hours’ over the weekend. The project features both the “Diplomatic Immunity” and “God’s Plan” singles.

Indie musician PFV took to Twitter to speak on the similarities between the “God’s Plan” single and a recent single of his own.

“A month and a half ago I put out and album called ‘Internet Famous’ and I have a song on there called “Play for Keeps.” Drake just dropped a new single today and he has a single on there called “God’s Plan” that sounds strikingly similar,” said PFV. “Let’s just keep it real. They took the melody.,” he would continue before ending the clip.

Drake also is being accused by EDM producer Rabit for stealing the concept for his ‘Scary Hours’ EP artwork. Both covers share similar font patterns, but the colorways are different.

XXXTentacion is also accusing Drake of trying to use his 6 God powers.

In an interview with DJ Akademiks, XXXTentacion states that Drake tried to sacrifice him.

“Everybody love Drake. I still respect him for his music. I just can’t respect what he did to me.,” said XXXTentacion.

Drake is a walking headline mixed with a minstrel show at this point in his career. Amazing!

Do you think Drake is using his 6 God powers to stay on top of Hip Hop?

DJ Mustard Gives Up Lean After Fredo Santana’s Death

(AllHipHop News) The recent rash of deaths in hip-hop is prompting one of the game’s biggest producers to give up lean.

DJ Mustard posted a picture of himself pouring a pricey bottle of Promethazine and Codeine down the drain, vowing to give up his habit.

“It’s over. It’s over, f##k this s##t,” DJ Mustard said as he dumped out his bottle.

DJ Mustard’s new attitude towards the lethal concoction comes on the heels of the death of Chicago rapper Fredo Santana.

Fredo died of a fatal seizure, just a year after suffering from kidney and liver failure, thanks to his admitted addiction to the lean.

In addition to Fredo, the opioid epidemic claimed the life of rockstar Tom Petty last week it was revealed last week.

Petty, who was found unresponsive in October, eventually died in a hospital from an overdose of lethal amounts of fentanyl, oxycodone, acetyl fentanyl and despropionyl fentanyl, which are opioids.

Other celebs who have died from taking opioids in recent years include Whitney Houston, her daughter Bobbi, Prince and Michael Jackson.

In November of 2017 rapper Lil Peep died from an overdose as well, after ingesting a lethal mixture of Xanax mixed with fentanyl.

What are Eminem, Dr. Dre & Mike Will Made It Cooking Up?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i8I6OW2_H0Q

By Rico Panacea (@RicoPanacea)

(AllHipHop Rumors) It looks like Eminem and Dr. Dre were searching for some new ear drummers.

Photos recently surfaced of the duo working in the studio with Ear Drummers super producer Mike Will Made It.

Mike Will took to his instagram showing him in the studio presumably working with both Dre and Em.

“Pulled Up & Dropped Some Off To Eminem Last Night. Approved By The Doc. Big 2018 !!,” said Mike Will.

He also posted a video with Eminem. The caption stated,

“All Smiles !! Big 2018 !! Big On Big !!”

It looks like 2018 is going to be another big year for Mike Will Made It. He recently posted a picture of himself and Jay-Z on the gram also.

“Big Convos 2018. Nothing Small, Nothing !! Willy Da Ceo.,” said Mike Will.

Mr. Made It has definitely made it from the looks of things.

The praise is definitely deserved after a 2017 campaign that saw major success for his Ear Drummers group Rae Sremmurd. In 2016, their single reached number one on Billboard’s Hot 100, Rhythmic and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop charts while also being named 2016’s Best Pop Song by Billboard.

The success continued into 2017 as Rae Sremmurd’s Swae Lee scored another Rhythmic and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop number one with a feature on French Montana’s “Unforgettable” single.

Swae Lee is rumored to be releasing his ‘Swaecation’ solo project later this year and Rae Sremmurd’s ‘SremmLife 3’ album is also being rumored to drop as early as this month. 2017 was definitely good to Mike Will Made It. 2018 is looking to be brighter and better.

Do you think Mike Will Made It is Hip-Hop’s next mogul? Are you excited for whatever it is that Dr. Dre, Eminem, and Mike Will Made It are cooking up?

Too $hort Fires Back At Rape Accuser

(AllHipHop News) Rapper Too $hort has threatened to sue the woman who has accused him of sexual battery.

Teana Louis filed papers in Los Angeles on Friday, claiming the hip-hop star sexually assaulted her on multiple occasions in 2016.

She alleges he forced her to have oral and a### sex against her wishes.

Teana claims she was working on a song with Too $hort, real name Todd Anthony Shaw, in April 2016, when he first had sex with her, holding her down and performing oral sex on her.

She is suing the “Blow The Whistle” rapper for sexual battery, sexual harassment, gender violence, gender discrimination, and false imprisonment.

Too $hort has now responded, claiming Louis is making a shameless money grab, and he has threatened to take legal action against her.

“I’m being extorted… They want money. For a while there I thought it was something other… My only choice is to countersue for slander and get a restraining order… and get this out of my life.”

Confirming Louis was an artist he was hoping to sign, Too $hort adds, “She was not raped. The most we ever did was foreplay and I don’t know how you take some foreplay incident and turn it into a crime.”

The former “Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood” star is no stranger to the law – he previously pleaded guilty to harassment following a 2014 fight with his then-girlfriend, Masika Tucker.

(AllHipHop News) Jadakiss and Fabolous connected with Mass Appeal for an Around the World video interview. The clip opens with Fab talking about the differences between Hip Hop of the 1990s and Hip Hop of today.

“I always looked at the 90s where it was so many different genres and different styles. A lot of things that’s going on now – people are just trying to be successful so they’re just copying the last success,” offered Fabolous. “But when everybody’s gotta look like this, everybody’s gotta have colorful dreads, that’s where it goes wrong.”

The Brooklyn spitter continued, “This is not against colorful dreads. It’s about everybody trying to have colorful dreads so they can fit in so you can look at them so they can be accepted.”

Fabolous teamed up with Jadakiss for the 2017 collaborative project Friday on Elm Street. The album debuted at #10 on the Billboard 200 chart with 33,000 units in its first week.

Producer Accuses Drake Of Stealing ‘Scary Hours’ EP Cover

(AllHipHop News) It’s 2018 and Drake is still being accused of creative theft. The OVO Sound head dropped the two-song EP Scary Hours over the weekend to mostly positive reactions.

There is at least one person that is taking issue with the project. Electronic producer Rabit went on Instagram to suggest Drake’s cover art is a copy of his Collin Fletcher-designed “Communion Tour” poster from 2015.

Rabit wrote on IG:

today I wake up to see OVO has redone one of my 2015 tour posters designed by @collindfletcher for Drake’s new single. Poor Collin is always having his style stolen😬lol BUT I love being part of a team that’s so creative and iconic💕💕🐀😆 #drake #ovo #rat #roach #simp – *Rabit – Les Fleurs Du Mail available now*

The social media post included a top-to-bottom comparison of the tour poster and the Scary Hours cover. This latest accusation follows other artists claiming Drake has stolen concepts/music for years, including XXXtentacion charging Drizzy’s “KMT” was a ripoff of his “Look At Me.”

“This is a story that too many artists, musicians, and designers identify with,” Fletcher told Pitchfork. “Hopefully this results in a larger conversation about popular culture’s relationship to underground artists.”

Fetty Wap: Losing BET Best New Artist Award To Sam Smith Broke Me Down

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f2oe8OFl6Ys

(AllHipHop News) Fetty Wap dominated the Billboard charts in 2014-2015. Over that period, the New Jersey native saw his first three songs reach the Top 10 of the Hot 100 which was the first time a rapper achieved that feat since Chingy in 2004.

When award season came around, Fetty and some of his followers expected him to rack up. The “Trap Queen” rhymer did pick up a 2015 BET Award nominations for Best New Artist, but he lost the trophy to Sam Smith.

Fetty Wap stopped by the Desus & Mero show this week and spoke about BET honoring Smith over him. That defeat apparently deeply bothered the For My Fans mixtape creator.

“When we had the nominations for the Grammys and the BET Awards, and I lost that year. That really kind of took my spirit from the music world. I kind of like shied back,” said Fetty. “I think everybody in the world felt [like I earned it].”

He added, “Twitter, Instagram, all these people were like, ‘Fetty Wap gotta win this sh-t. He’s the best new artist. He got the best new song. That sh-t run the world right now.’ Then, boom!”

Fetty also stated that loss convinced him the awards were rigged. The 300 Entertainment artist confessed, “It broke me down a little bit. I don’t know how else to put it.”

Star Calls Out Co-Host DJ Akademiks For “Clowning” Fredo Santana

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MOLXqOkJ1lo

(AllHipHop News) The Complex News debate program Everyday Struggle returned yesterday with a new host. Veteran radio personality Troi “Star” Torain replaced Joe Budden on the panel.

In his very first episode, the self-described hater came out swinging hard at co-host DJ Akademiks. The final segment featured the commentators discussing the recent passing of Chicago-raised rapper Fredo Santana, but Torain chose to use the moment to call out Ak.

“Don’t now sit here and give us a somber f-cking moment when you, the modern-day P. T. Barnum, you gave us the greatest gift to Hip Hop – that was the War in Chiraq – and you put a saddle on that guy’s back and rode him in a f-cking circus,” Star told Akademiks. “Don’t sit here now and give f-cking RIPs and sincere heartfelt bullsh-t. Don’t do it.”

He added, “F-ck all that trying to polished your sh-t up now. You referred to him as the demon. You clowned him.”

Akademiks eventually admitted calling Santana “the demon” on his YouTube channel. However, he suggested it was tasteless for Star to start that critical conversation so soon after Fredo’s death.

This was not the first time Akademiks faced direct denunciation on Everyday Struggle for his War In Chiraq series. Last June, Vic Mensa blasted the internet personality to his face for allegedly making fun of the death of his childhood friend Tray 57.

50 Cent Says Making Hit Music Is “Not Rocket Science”

(AllHipHop News) 50 Cent is adamant that simplicity is the key to making hit music.

The rapper, real name Curtis Jackson, released single “In da Club” back in January 2003, with the catchy tune quickly becoming an international hit.

Reflecting on the 15th anniversary of his debut, Fif told said it was easy to make the track.

“Simplicity is a big key to hit music,” he said of “In da Club.” “Don’t overthink things, just organically see what you feel when the production comes in. Like (the lyric), ‘Go shorty, it’s your birthday.’ It’s not rocket science. It’s a simple statement.

“Every day is someone’s birthday so it sticks around, right?”

The track featured on his album Get Rich or Die Tryin’, which was produced Dr. Dre and Eminem, and 50 went on to release four more albums before turning his hand to the world of acting.

The 42-year-old is currently starring on crime drama “Power” on U.S. network Starz and is promoting action thriller *Den of Thieves,” which also features Gerard Butler and O’Shea Jackson Jr.

“I’ve been doing music since 1997. It’s first nature for me. The challenge of being part of a film project is really exciting. There’s no constraints in film; you can be anything,” he explained of his transition to Hollywood.

Motivational Monday: Where’s Your Common Sense?

(AllHipHop Opinion) I remember being a child and always hearing adults say, “use your head man”. It kind of became that saying that let me know that I wasn’t being smart at all. Now that I’m older and I see certain things I say the same exact thing. Now days in the world there is a shortage of people with common sense. You are more likely to encounter people with no common sense than you would people with. It’s like people out here don’t want to think anymore or use their brains. We also make things more complicated than it needs to be. Sometimes we are trying to change what we know can’t and won’t change or we just feed into our negative thoughts. Life is already complicated enough we don’t need to make it more complicated by continuing to feed into those thoughts. The fact that you are alive, and breathing is a huge blessing. We must learn to really start taking the time to sit back and count all our blessings. If we really eliminated things that bring us negativity some aspects of life will really become less complicated. If we know something is hurting us or bringing us no good, we need to use our common sense let it go and not make it more complicated than it needs to be!
