(AllHipHop News) Rap legend MC Eiht just dropped the new video for his song “Compton Zoo,” which is taken from his new album Which Way Iz West.
The album is the first release from the legendary Compton’s Most Wanted founder, who penned influential classic albums like Music to Driveby and We Coms Strapped.
MC Eiht knows the release is special, so he lined up legendary producer DJ Premier to handle the executive production for the album.

Appearing last on the intro of Goldlink and Shy Glizzy’s visual “Crew,” Kelow Latesha returns with a new single titled “Yeah,” heavily influenced by her City’s slang.
Serving as the first official leak off the Maryland native’s forthcoming “Flight Attendant” project, this release is the follow up to her Lil Uzi Vert-assisted “Finna” remix. “Yeah” is produced by JNATBEATS, who is best known for working with DJ Drama.
(AllHipHop News) It comes as no surprise when moguls such as Sean “Diddy” Combs, Shawn “Jay Z” Carter, and Andre “Dr. Dre” Young are added to various Forbes lists.
All four entertainers were once again part of Forbes’ “The World’s Highest-Paid Celebrities” list for 2017, but a newcomer made his way into the top 100 as well.
According to the business publication, Chancelor “Chance The Rapper” Bennett brought in $33 million over the 12 month scoring period.
That total puts the Coloring Book creator at #95, and it makes him the youngest (24) Hip Hop artist to be listed.
Only three other celebrities younger than Chance made Forbes‘ Celebrity 100 – Kylie Jenner (19, #59, $41 million), Justin Bieber (23, #13, $83.5 million), and Jordan Spieth (23, #83, $34.5 million).
The Chicago native’s inclusion also stands out because he is an independent music artist that has yet to sell physical copies of his projects.
“I think the free part of it is more of an attention grabbing thing and something that people can use as a marker to track what I’m doing,” said CTR in an interview in 2016. “Since I was 15 or 16 passing out mixtapes outside of my high school, I always gave them away for free.”
Chance acquired some of his wealth through concert and festival appearances as well as deals with brands such as Apple and Kit Kat.
(AllHipHop Rumors) Things always seem to get pretty heated on Complex’s ‘Everyday Struggle’. Joe Budden recently debated Joey BadA$$ on who is an isn’t a megastar in Hip Hop right now, and things got interesting.
Within the debate, Joe Budden stated that Future and Lil Yachty were not megastars. He did give Drake and Kendrick Lamar credit for being megastars though.
“Future is dropping projects weeks within weeks,” argued Joey BadA$$.
“Future’s not a megastar. There are plenty of places in America and Future can go and and not a soul would recognize him. But Future can walk to any mall in Kansas and no one is going crazy over him,” said Joe Budden.
Joe Budden went on to say that Lil Yachty isn’t a megastar either.
“It’s a different generation bro. Like Playboi Carti has the whole youth in his hand bro. It’s a different climate. When we talk about the Lil Uzi’s and Lil Yachtys this year 2 from them and their f-cking stars. How can you say Yachty’s not a star? He has f-cking Target and Sprite commercials bro……..while Yachty may not be a star two years from now, he’s a f-cking megastar right now,” said Joey.
“I don’t think Yachty is a megastar. Yachty has good business; he’s not a star. You are not a megastar when you sell 40k records. I’m sorry,” said Joe Budden.
Joe feels that people can’t be megastars if they don’t have big reach.
While Future has had amazing success, maybe he’s still not a megastar. There are successful artists that aren’t megastars. Does Future’s successful run and co-headlined tour with Drake make him a megastar? Most feel it’s easy to rule Yachty out because of the numbers and him failing to make “quality” music.
For someone to be a megastar does it require for them to have huge sales and great music, or is it just about numbers?
Oh yeah, Lil Yachty clapped back at Joe with the stats on Joe’s low sales. Of course you know Joe doesn’t care because he never thought of himself as a megastar anyway.
(AllHipHop News) Ice Cube’s actor son O’Shea Jackson is set to portray famed baseball pitcher Dock Ellis in a new biopic.
The late Pittsburgh Pirates player made history 47 years ago on Monday (June 12) when he threw a no-hitter, a game in which the opposing team is unable to record a single hit, against the San Diego Padres.
However, 10 years after the 1970 feat, Ellis stunned fans and experts alike when he claimed he had been high on psychedelic drug LSD at the time of the achievement.
Now Jackson, 26, is set to bring Ellis’ story to the big screen in a new film produced by his rapper/actor dad via his Cube Vision firm, reports Deadline.com.
Hacksaw Ridge’s David Permut and Jeff Kwatinetz are also attached as producers.
A director has yet to be announced, but the script was penned by Joey Poach.
“Joey Poach’s script is one of the most heartfelt, honest and emotional pieces of material I’ve read in years, and I think the complexities of the character are a perfect fit for O’Shea,” Permut declares in a statement.
Ellis, who confessed he had never pitched a game sober, subsequently sought professional treatment for his addiction issues, and later became a counselor for other professional athletes.
He died from a liver problem in 2008, aged 63.
The baseball biopic will mark the second movie project Ice Cube and his son will have worked on together as Jackson played a younger version of the hip-hop icon in another real-life story, 2015’s Straight Outta Compton., which chronicled the musician’s rise to fame in his band N.W.A.
Ice Cube, real name O’Shea Jackson, Sr., also served as a producer on that film.
(AllHipHop Rumors) Remy Ma certainly turned Hot 97’s Summer Jam into a lituation when she celebrated female emcees when she brought out The Lady of Rage, MC Lyte, Young M.A., Monie Love, Lil Kim, Queen Latifah, and Cardi B.
While this was certainly a moment of unity for females in Hip Hop, Nicki Minaj’s fans felt that the moment was an ultimate sign of betrayal from Cardi B.
Nicki’s loyal and crazy fan base feel that if Cardi truly rocks with Nicki, she shouldn’t have agreed to perform on Summer Jam with Remy.
To be honest, Nicki and Remy shouldn’t even be beefing. We all love the competitiveness of Hip Hop, but they could’ve buried the hatchet, and it would’ve been legendary for Remy, Kim, and Nicki to all rock the stage together.
Regardless if Remy and Nicki ever squash their beef, Cardi would’ve been a fool to pass up that opportunity.
Cardi responded by saying,
“It’s not joining forces wit the enemy is empowering each other .I love who love me & support me.”
“Exactly idgaf about no beef sh-t I’m not beefing with nobody I’m not going to miss opportunities cause of sh-t that got nothin to do wit me.”
What are your thoughts?
Exactly idgaf about no beef s### I'm not beefing with nobody I'm not going to miss opportunities cause of s### that got nothin to do wit me https://t.co/CumKJLuljg
Having been released from jail just last week Monday, Kodak Black wastes no time releasing new music for fans and joins KYLE on the official remix to his popular single “iSpy,” which originally featured Lil Yachty.
Take a listen below. Congratulations is in order for KYLE as well, as it was just revealed he made this year’s XXL Freshman cover.
Word on the curb is that Travis Scott and Kylie Jenner secretly wed in a private ceremony!
They can’t be that crazy right?! I understand that sometimes that initial stage of love may feel like heaven, but it’s no reason to rush into a marriage.
According to Life & Style Magazine, Scott and Jenner tied the knot in a small ceremony at Kylie’s Calabasas home.
“Kylie and Travis tied the knot at her Calabasas mansion. It wasn’t a big, glamorous affair like other Kardashian weddings, and only a few close friends were invited. But Kylie is crazy about Travis,” said an insider.
The source also says that surprisingly E! wasn’t on the scene.
“There were no official E! cameras there, but Kylie asked her friends to film the special moment on their iPhones. She plans to use the footage on her new show,” said the source.
Kylie has allegedly been acting as Travis’ sugar mama also, and she’s allegedly spent thousands of dollars on new jewelry, designer clothes, dinners and exotic vacations for him.
Well, whether they’ve gotten married or not, it looks like they still took their relationship to the next level by getting matching butterfly tattoos on their ankles.
MadeInTYO released a Rich The Kid-assisted single, “Flooded” last week and today the Private Club Records artist quickly follows up with another record titled “Picture Me Rollin.” Production provided by Sonny Digital.
(AllHipHop Features) Throughout his two-decade career in show business, Keith Robinson has built a connection with the public through roles in popular motion pictures like Dreamgirls, This Christmas, and Get On Up.
The Southern-raised performer is next hitting the big screen as part of the All Eyez On Me cast. Robinson plays Tupac Shakur’s former manager Atron Gregory in the biopic covering the iconic rapper.
Besides acting in cinema, Robinson is also currently appearing on the Bounce TV series Saints & Sinners. He recently released a full album titled Love Episodic and has film scoring credits as well.
I caught up with Keith to talk about his recent movie, television, and music work. The entertainment triple threat shares his thoughts on 2Pac, Power Rangers mania, and more.
AllHipHop: Can you talk about your role in All Eyez On Me?
Keith Robinson: I play a guy named Atron Gregory who was actually Tupac’s longtime manager. He introduced him to Digital Underground and helped him get on. He was probably his manager for like five or six years, before the Death Row days. If you were behind the scenes, you kind of knew who he was. He was one of the guys that was kind of the voice of reason for Tupac when he was first getting on the scene.
AllHipHop: Did you get a chance to meet with Gregory or anyone that was in Pac’s life at that time?
KR: I talked to him while we were shooting and throughout the process. I conferred with him about different conversations they may have had to get a gauge of the dynamic of their relationship.
AllHipHop: What was your reaction when you found out you were going to be part of this project?
KR: I was excited. I was honored. [Producer] L.T. Hutton and I spoke about it when it was still in development, about five or six years ago. So for us to link up years later when it was up and running was kind of ironic. I’m a huge Tupac fan, so I was honored to be part of the movie.
AllHipHop: You were also in the James Brown movie Get On Up. Do you approach playing a real person different from playing a completely fictional character?
KR: I think when you approach playing a person that did exist you’re more responsible for articulating that character, you don’t really utilize the imagination as much. When it’s a fictional character, what you bring to the table, how you bring it to life, is really on you. You access your imagination a little bit more. So yeah, it’s a little bit different preparation, but it’s all the same research required.
AllHipHop: Did you also contribute to the soundtrack?
KR: I have a song coming out in conjunction with the movie. It’s kind of inspired by the movie. It’s called “Shout Out To The Pain.” It’s me and E.D.I. Mean from the Outlawz. It’ll be out the day the movie comes out. We’re shooting a video. We’re really excited about the single. Me and E.D.I. were on set and sitting around talking about how we need to get in. Right after we wrapped the movie in Atlanta, we were back in LA and got right in the studio to cut the record.
AllHipHop: “Pain” is actually one of my favorite Tupac songs. Do you have any particular Pac songs that you find to be your favorites?
KR: It’s so many – “Ambitionz Az A Ridah,” “Hail Mary.” It’s really hard to pick one Tupac record. There are so many that I identify with. I love the whole entire Me Against the World album. It was a classic to me.
AllHipHop: You recently released your own album Love Episodic. Can you talk about the creative process for that project?
KR: Love Episodic was kind of a play on the episodic movie and TV thing. I wanted to make it feel as though when you listen to this body of work, you’re were watching an episode of what I call “an anatomy of a relationship” – the ups and downs, the highs and lows, the things we go through when we relate to one another. We just put it to music.
It’s a lot of live instrumentation. I wrote every song except for one on the album. People have heard songs from me on different soundtracks and scores, but nobody had ever really heard a full body of work from me. This is the first time I’m reintroducing myself to the world because my music is where it starts and ends.
AllHipHop: I noticed your Twitter name is “keithsings.” So do you consider singing your first artistic love?
KR: Yeah, for sure. That’s why I moved out to Hollywood. I was with a group, and we had a deal for a little while. We got out of the deal then came out to LA to get re-signed and move back to Atlanta. I ended up staying out here. The TV and film thing kind of took off out here. But music has always been the center of it all.
AllHipHop: Speaking of TV, you’re starring on Saints & Sinners. You just finished the second season. Is there any talk about coming back for a third season?
KR: There is talk about it. Everybody’s trying to get their ducks in a row. People really seemed to have taken to the show pretty fast. We were kind of overwhelmed with the response, so we’re waiting to see when we can get back.
AllHipHop: There are a lot of people saying they feel like there’s a black renaissance happening on television right now with all these amazing shows with majority black casts. What are your thoughts about that?
KR: I think it’s great. I think it’s about time. I think TV is an art, and Hollywood’s supposed to reflect the diversity of the culture. I think they’re finally understanding that our stories mean something, are worth being told, and there’s an audience. I think we still have some ways to go as far as us being consistent in putting people of color in positions to get stuff made, but it’s definitely a good time to be ethnic in Hollywood. They’re open to making projects to tell our stories now.
AllHipHop: I didn’t realize you started on Power Rangers.
KR: Yeah, that was one of my first TV gigs.
AllHipHop: Do you ever have people recognize you from that show?
KR: Every day. Those fans are diehard fans. They’ll run you down anywhere in the world. They’re like Trekkies. It’s like a worldwide cult.
AllHipHop: You’re acting. You’re singing. You score projects as well. Are there any other areas in the entertainment industry you want to pursue?
KR: I want to get into directing. I want to get behind the camera. I’d definitely like to produce my own projects. I’ve been around it enough to have seen the ins and outs. I think I’d make a pretty good director, so that’s the next goal for me.
AllHipHop: What’s next for you?
KR: After we go through this Pac press, I’ll start another project in the fall depending on when Saints & Sinners comes back. I’m thinking about putting a Christmas album out at the end of the year. Right now, we’re on the road doing spot dates for Love Episodic. That’s first and foremost for the summer.
For his latest visual, Tony Swag teams with director Cam Fairfa and bring his single “N Da Coupe” to life on the small-screen. Cameos include Bianca De Leon, and the record can be found on his recent mixtape “Big Tony” which is now available everywhere.
(AllHipHop News) Ice Cube thanked all “who helped me get here” as he was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Monday (June 12).
The rapper/actor was presented with the 2,614th star in front of the Musicians Institute building on Hollywood Boulevard, and when he took to the podium to give a speech, he insisted the day was less about him and more about those who help him throughout his career.
“You know, you don’t get here by yourself and when you’re coming up doing music, movies, just trying to be creative, you never figure you’ll be on the Hollywood Walk of Fame one day,” he said, according to Reuters. “So today is not really about Ice Cube, it’s about all the people who helped me get here.”
He also specifically thanked his father for always being there for him and his mother for supporting him regardless of whether she agreed with his decisions.
“Thank you mama for always supporting whatever I wanted to do, whether you was with it or not, you said ‘As long as it kept you off the street, you can do it,'” he said, reports.
The 47-year-old was supported by rapper WC, his former Westside Connection bandmate, who opened his speech by referencing Ice Cube’s ’90s hit It was a Good Day by asking the crowd, “Today was a good day, ain’t it y’all?”
He called the rapper, real name O’Shea Jackson, a “musical genius” and praised him for the social impact he made with his lyrics as a solo artist and with N.W.A.
“Boyz n the Hood” director John Singleton also made an appearance and said, “I wouldn’t have a career if it wasn’t for this dude.”
Singleton received an Oscar nomination for his directorial debut, which was the rapper’s first lead movie role.
Ice Cube’s wife and children posed for pictures with him at the ceremony, as well as his former N.W.A. bandmate Dr. Dre.
“American Epicis a love letter to the United States. Other studio sessions feature Elton John, Willie Nelson, The Alabama Shakes, The Hawaiians, and Taj Mahal.
American Epic can be viewed online via PBS or BBC.

(AllHipHop News) Much of the music world is convinced a new Jay Z album is on the horizon.
Recent photos of Hov in Jamaica sparked more speculation the Roc Nation boss is set to drop new music soon.
Billboardspoke to Damian Marley, and the reggae star confirmed he hooked up with Jay in the studio.
“Well, I did some work with him for some stuff that he’s working on,” said Marley. “I’m not really sure of the details of his project in that sense, but we worked on some music together. I’ve been a fan of his music since he came out. We’ve never done any musical work together. So that was a joy to finally work together musically.”
The “Nail Pon Cross” singer also talked about giving Jay a tour of Kingston and sharing the Jamaican city’s musical history.
Marley’s connection with the Brooklyn emcee extends beyond just showing him around the Caribbean island.
(AllHipHop News) Kodak Black is currently a free man, and the 20-year-old rapper is trying to remain out of jail.
To help ensure that he doesn’t go back behind bars, Kodak’s legal team is asking a judge to clarify whether the Florida native can work with other artists that have criminal records.
TMZ notes the “Tunnel Vision” performer is prohibited from associating with known felons.
He is looking to get an exception for work associates and family members.
