(AllHipHop News) Hip-Hop legend Snoop Dogg is planning another musical reinvention with a new gospel album.
The “Gin and Juice” hitmaker famously changed his name to the Rastafarian-inspired Snoop Lion as he launched his 2013 reggae album Reincarnated, only to ditch the moniker months later.
Now Snoop, 45, is moving in a new music direction for his 17th studio album, the follow-up to his latest release Neva Left, which has been on his mind for some time.
“It’s always been on my heart,” he explained in an interview on Beats 1 Radio’s The Pharmacy. “I just never got around to it because I always be doing gangsta business and doing this and doing that (sic). But I just feel like it’s been on my heart too long. I need to do it now.”
And Snoop already has a number of top collaborators lining up to help him with his gospel project:
“Me, Faith Evans, we talked about it heavily, because she feels like she wants to get down with me,” he shared. “All the people I know from Charlie Wilson to Jeffrey Osborne, whoever I want to get down with. We gone make it right (sic).”
In addition to Snoop’s reggae period, he also embraced funk music under the name Snoopzilla for a collaboration with singer Dam-Funk in 2013.
(AllHipHop News) Reality TV personality and rising rapper Cardi B was riding high from finding out she received two nominations at this year’s BET Awards.
Apparently, that high did not last that long.
Cardi jumped on social media to post a live video of her blasting people in the industry.
“It’s so crazy how these n-ggas and these b-tches that I looked up to – they trying to crush my mic,” said the Love & Hip Hop star. “Same people, that now that I’m in the industry, is dead-ass trying to crush my mic. And that’s some wack sh-t. I’m so highly disappointed and hurt.”
She later added, “That sh-t really be breaking my heart, because the people – your idols dead-ass become rivals… All y’all n-ggas is wack. All y’all n-ggas is fake. Y’all n-ggas ain’t about that life. Y’all n-ggas ain’t real.”
There is speculation that Cardi was referring to Nicki Minaj after she may have been the target of a subliminal diss by the Young Money rep.
Recently, Minaj contributed a verse to Katy Perry’s new single “Swish Swish.”
The song features the Queens native rapping, “Silly rap beefs just get me more checks. My life is a movie, I’m never off set. Me and my amigos, no, not Offset. Swish swish, I got them upset.”
Cardi was reportedly dating Offset of The Migos, and she has been supportive of Nicki’s main rival Remy Ma.
There have also been rumors Cardi and Remy could be teaming up with yet another Nicki Minaj foe, Lil Kim, for a remake of the all-female posse cut “Not Tonight (Ladies Night Remix)”.
Minaj is also up for “Best Female Hip-Hop Artist” at the 2017 BET Awards where she’ll be competing against Cardi, Remy, Young M.A, and Missy Elliott.
While Cardi is hoping to take home the prize, she has expressed that Remy Ma is her second choice in that category.
“If I lose, I hope that Remy wins. She’s always supported me from day one. She’s my real one,” said Cardi B on Instagram Live last week.
Inspired by their experiences with dating in Virginia, MOOD ENT. supplies a smooth banger about the unsuccessful attempts of women trying to capture their hearts. Davie Jones, Kirk D., & Hollywood Rame all express the fact that they are not easily satisfied and are soon bound to look elsewhere as their musical journey will lead them to boundless locations, and of course, an abundance of women. Thanks to the craft work of producer Len Byas, this track surely has the whip appeal to be that summer jam to have Virginia boomin’ about their frustrations with love.
(AllHipHop News) May 21 would have been The Notorious B.I.G.’s 45th birthday.
Unfortunately, the world lost the Hip Hop great back in 1997 but not before Biggie helped launch one of the most successful record labels in history.
In celebration of B.I.G.’s legacy, Bad Boy Records founder Sean “Diddy” Combs released a trailer for a documentary about his legendary company.
Can’t Stop Won’t Stop: A Bad Boy Story will premiere June 25 on Apple Music.
Diddy also honored The Notorious B.I.G. at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards.
“Biggie was the best rapper I ever had the chance to work with,” Diddy told the BBMA crowd.
The iconic emcee’s son, CJ Wallace, made an appearance at the ceremony as well.

(AllHipHop News) There’s even more bad news for Billy McFarland and Jeffrey “Ja Rule” Atkins, the organizers of the Fyre Festival.
After being hit with numerous lawsuits, the disastrous event that was supposed to take place in the Bahamas is reportedly under investigation.
According to the New York Times, the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are looking into possible crimes.
A prosecutor assigned to the complex frauds and cybercrime unit is said to be investigating if Fyre Media took part in mail, wire, and securities fraud.
“That’s not fraud, that’s not fraud,” Ja Rule is quoted saying at a May meeting. “False advertising, maybe – not fraud.”
The event was promoted on Instagram by “social media influencers” Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid, and other celebrities.
Vice News published audio of a conference call which included a Fyre employee asking McFarland if she should be concerned about the FBI.
“That’s really more of an individual thing,” replied the 25-year-old entrepreneur.
In addition, many individuals and businesses were not paid for their work connected to the festival.
Fyre Media also owes over $330,000 in customs fees to the Bahamian government.
Ja Rule previously served time in prison for illegal gun possession and tax evasion.
(AllHipHop Rumors) Many have speculated about Kanye West allegedly being in a sunken place, and what exactly got him there.
Ye’s friend rapper GLC stopped by to chat with Chicago’s 107.5 and share his opinion on the topic.
GCL says that he doesn’t think Kanye ever had time to heal or grieve over his mother’s death. He also believes that the lifestyle of the Kardashians coupled with the fact that Ye is still grieving years later, probably has Ye all messed up.
G also explained that the way Ye measures success may be problematic also.
“He equated success to being accepted by the caucasians and masses. If the caucasian people embraced him, it meant he made it,” said GLC.
GLC also refers to Kanye as a sponge.
“Never let a sponge get around the crooked. Cause that’s what they become the moment you aint looking, and Kanye’s a sponge,” said GLC.
Basically those Kardashians aren’t helping.
GLC also said he saw the current day craziness coming, and he tried to nip it in the bud but those calling the shots were trying to control the situation and encouraged it [Ye’s behavior].
According to GLC, because he was trying to let Kanye know about himself and the direction he was heading in, he was seen as the one being negative.
Basically if you have people around you thinking for you or too many yes men, your life is probably headed in the wrong direction, and GLC says he saw this coming.
Some took GLC’s interview to mean that Ye is being controlled by Kim K, and he wants to “be white”. That seems like a reach to me, but hey it may not be too far fetched. What are your thoughts?

(AllHipHop Rumors) ISSA LIE!
Every other day a rapper from today is claiming they are the next Tupac or Biggie, or discrediting them. All of the claims are the furthest thing from the truth.
While Troy Ave and Boosie think they are today’s Tupacs, Joey BadAzz thinks he’s better than him. Lil Yachty even came under fire for thinking Tupac and Biggie were overrated.
Zaytoven revealed that he believes Future is the Michael Jackson of rap, and now we have Lil Durk. Lil Durk believes that Future is the Tupac of this era. Durk took to Twitter to share his opinion.
“@1future you the Modern day #2pac for the world,” tweeted Lil Durk.
Future is without doubt one of the hottest rappers of today, but he’s no Tupac. Now fam, there is certainly no reason for me to elaborate on why this is a reach, but I would love to hear Durk expand on his opinion. Twitter wasn’t so kind in responding either. Check out some of the reactions below.
What are your thoughts?

(AllHipHop News) Beyonce has celebrated the impending arrival of her twins at a lavish baby shower.
The 35-year-old singer was thrown the Moroccan-themed bash by her mother Tina Lawson at a private residence in Beverly Hills that was once owned by Madonna.
Beyonce is expected to give birth any day now, after announcing she was pregnant via a photo on Instagram back in February .
Balloons spelling out ‘Twinning’ and ‘Carter Push Party’ adorned the baby shower, while guests including Serena Williams, La La Anthony and Beyonce’s Destiny’s Child bandmates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams wore brightly patterned outfits to fit in with the theme.
Grandmother-to-be Tina shared a video from the bash on Instagram on Saturday, showing the guests shouting “Happy Carter Push Party!” to the camera, referring to Beyonce’s married surname.
Her husband Jay Z, real name Shawn Carter, was understood to have skipped the party, while their five-year-old daughter Blue Ivy played with friends, including Kelly’s son Titan, at the star-studded bash.
A source told People.com that Beyonce was seen walking round the party with her bare stomach covered in henna tattoos.
“There was a huge tent erected on the property where most of the shower took place. The decor was African themed and very colorful with lounge seating areas, floor pillows and rugs on the floor,” another source told E! News.
African dancers and drummers performed at the baby shower, while a huge soul food buffet was served for a late lunch.
Beyonce and Jay have reportedly relocated to Los Angeles as they await the birth of their twins, and have been overseeing renovations of their rental home in the upscale area of Holmby Hills.
(AllHipHop Rumors) Drake had a pretty amazing night as he took home 13 Billboard Music Awards, beating out Adele’s record of 12 wins!
One of his most notable acceptance speeches was the one where he shouted out Ludacris despite them not always seeing eye-eye-eye, his father and his purple outfit, and actress and host of the evening Vanessa Hudgens.
As cameras panned to Nicki Minaj, she made the moment hilarious as she asked Drake what about her recognition. Drake did end up shouting Nicki Minaj out during the acceptance speech, but folks are still on this Vanessa shout out.
Drake even took his lust and thirst for Hudgens over to social media as he followed her and started liking her posts immediately.
While everyone may not be here for these two becoming an item, folks certainly had some internet fun with Nicki’s reaction to the Vanessa shout out, and Drake’s reaction to Vanessa rapping. Check some of the reactions out below!.
I’m dying laughing that someone said Drake is gonna smash, and 40 is already working on the High School Musical sample. Carry on!

(AllHipHop Rumors) Mickey Rourke may be the biggest defender when it comes to who he believes is the greatest rapper!
I remember I was wondering how long it would take for folks to check people like Funk Flex and Wack 100 for speaking ill of the late, great rap legend, Tupac.
Now it’s clear that folks are fed TF up! TMZ caught up with actor Mickey Rourke, and he had some words for Funk Flex and anyone else talking reckless about Pac.
Mickey said,
“Tell him come see me to my face if you want to talk about my brother when he’s not here. You can tell any MF on the planet he got his sh-t to talk about Tupac come look me up. Come look me up at any MF time. If you want to talk about Tupac when he ain’t here come look my ass up. IDGAF about who defended him, he was one MF good dude, and if anyone wants to talk sh-t about him come talk to Mickey Rourke to my face.”
I’m with ya Mickey! Mickey says Pac was there for him during some very hard times. He also says he was there the first time Pac got shot. Mickey says the stuff Flex has been talking about Pac not getting shot is complete bull as he was at the hospital with him.
Flex always seems to take it too damn far!

(AllHipHop News) Venue officials in Brooklyn, New York have denied reports suggesting rapper Future’s concert ended in gun violence over the weekend, insisting no shots were fired.
Fans were heading home after the “Jumpman” hitmaker’s Nobody Safe Tour stop at the Barclays Center when a series of loud noises, which many believed to be gunshots, rang out, causing a stampede as people ran for safety.
Many took to social media to document the incident, with images surfacing of emergency medical technicians taking a man on a stretcher to an ambulance parked outside the venue.
However, Barclays Center bosses quickly cleared up the confusion in a post on Twitter.
“There were no gunshots tonight inside the arena,” they wrote. “A loud noise during load out caused concern while fans exited the venue. Get home safely.”
New York Police Department officials have also confirmed they received no reports of gunfire after the show.
(AllHipHop News) Last night, Drake broke Adele’s five-year-old Billboard Music Awards record.
The Canadian artist took home 13 trophies – the most wins in one night – at the 2017 edition of the ceremony.
Drake was honored as the Top Artist, Top Male Artist, Top Billboard 200 Artist, Top Hot 100 Artist, Top Rap Artist, Top Song Sales Artist, and Top Streaming Songs Artist.
His Views project won Top Billboard 200 Album and Top Rap Album.
“One Dance” (with Wizkid and Kyla) picked up the awards for Top Streaming Song and Top Collaboration.
Drake also performed the More Life track “Gyalchester” during the televised event.
(AllHipHop News) Lil Uzi Vert has been the subject of significant online criticism for some of his clothing choices.
In particular, a photo of Uzi wearing a pink and black top with a purse recently sparked conversation about current Hip Hop artists’ style.
Last week, the Philadelphia native responded to a fan who was supportive of his outfit by declaring, “I paid $2,400 for that shirt.”
Uzi was questioned about his controversial personal style while on the “magenta carpet” at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards.
Sway Calloway asked, “What is your response to that? People think it’s feminine.”
“You know what it is? They’ve never felt these fabrics before,” replied Uzi about the Valentino shirt he wore to the awards show.
While the “XO Tour Llif3” performer takes some heat for his wardrobe and his music, Lil Uzi also has backers like R&B singer Tank.
(AllHipHop News) The 2017 Billboard Music Awards featured performances by some of the biggest names in music.
Young Money was properly represented as Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, and Drake hit the stage at the Las Vegas event.

The 33-piece collection was inspired by the rapper’s career, music, and personal style and includes lifestyle products like pet accessories and bathrobes.

Skepta (AllHipHop News) Double Ivor Novello Awards winner Skepta’s mom has written a book about her escape from the civil war in Nigeria.
Ivy Adenuga has penned her life story, according to the rapper, which details the lengths she went to to avoid violence in her homeland before she became a mom.
Speaking at the Ivor Novello Awards in London last night (May 18), where Skepta picked up two major trophies, he said, “She’s written a book. It’s finished. Everybody will be able to read about her travels from Nigeria in the civil war. “She can’t believe it so she had to write it down.”
And the rap star can’t wait to read the book when it’s published:
“I really want people to see where my mom has come from.”
(AllHipHop News) Rappers A Tribe Called Quest have reportedly axed a trio of upcoming European concerts after frontman Q-Tip sustained a shoulder injury.
The “Scenario” hitmakers have been performing a number of dates in support of their final group album We Got It From Here…Thank You 4 Your Service, and they had been due to head to Denmark for the Roskilde Festival, which kicks off in late June.
However, festival organizers have since announced A Tribe Called Quest will no longer be taking to the stage due to Q-Tip’s medical condition, and they have drafted in Ice Cube to replace them on the bill.
A statement posted on the event’s website reads:
“Unfortunately, A Tribe Called Quest is forced to cancel three European shows this summer. This means that the concert at Roskilde Festival 2017 on Saturday July 1 will not take place.
“The reason for the cancellation is that front man Q-Tip recently had a shoulder injury and needs surgery, after which his doctor has ordered him to stay home and rest.”
The hip-hop veterans, who lost original member Phife Dawg last year, have yet to comment on the news, or the other European shows affected.
A Tribe Called Quest are currently still featured on the bill for the Parklife Festival, which takes place in Manchester, England next month.
It is also not yet known if Q-Tip’s injury and recovery period will affect the band’s planned shows in the U.S. and Canada this summer.
The North American leg of the stars’ tour had been due to begin with the Pemberton Music Festival in British Columbia, Canada on July 13 but event bosses have since pulled the 2017 bash after declaring bankruptcy.
Chance The Rapper, Muse, MGMT, Haim, and Run The Jewels, had also been slated to perform.
