Billboard reports the veteran music executive was accused of “unlawful harassment of an employee” prior to him leaving Epic.
The publication reports:
In a letter to Sony, the claimant’s attorney detailed alleged harassment his client had faced on a daily basis, which included alleged inappropriate remarks about her appearance and clothing and alleged propositions that caused her embarrassment and distress, making it impossible for her to continue working at the label. The letter — the contents of which were relayed to Billboard — threatened litigation if a settlement wasn’t reached. It wasn’t clear if Sony’s investigation had confirmed any of the letter’s allegations, and one person in Reid’s camp said the letter contained inaccuracies.
In the last two weeks, three different music industry executives have been accused of some form of harassment by former female employees.
Bad Boy Records founder Sean “Diddy” Combs is facing a lawsuit from his ex-chef over alleged sexual harassment.
(AllHipHop Rumors) Someone please take Carmen’s phone!
Nas‘ baby mama has certainly had a lot to say since her recent press runs to promote her new music.
We’ve heard less about her music and more about her old dealings with Nas and how she cheated on him with Jay Z and others.
Nas has ignored Carmen for the most part, but her latest antics on the gram may garner a response.
Someone asked Carmen [on Instagram] how she felt about Nas allegedly dating Nicki Minaj. Carmen replied with a direct shot at Nas!
“I’m relieved. I didn’t think my baby’s father still dated women,” said Carmen.
Most felt that Carmen was trying to insinuate that she thought Nas turned gay. In an effort for some quick damage control, Carmen clarified her statement with some additional shade as she said,
“Like what? I’m used to Nas dating 19 yr olds, I’m actually glad to see him dating a woman.”
Shadeeeeeeee. Come get Carmen pleaseeeeeee. You have to let that hurt go baby girl!

(AllHipHop News) Bill Cosby’s sexual assault case is set to move into the jury selection phase on May 22 in Pittsburgh.
The State of Pennsylvania vs. William H. Cosby Jr. is scheduled to begin shortly after that date in June.
As the legendary comedian is preparing to have his day in court, his children are pushing back against the media narrative that their father assaulted over 60 women.
Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club received exclusive audio from Cosby’s daughters, Ensa and Erinn, where they offer a defense of the 79-year-old television star.
“The man portrayed in the media today is not who my father is. My father is a civil rights activist. My father is an advocate for children. My father is an educator. My father is a philanthropist. My father is an immensely talented and innovative entertainer,” stated Ensa.
She went on to say the accusations against her dad have been “one-sided since the beginning” and believes racism played a role in the legal scandal.
“My father is being punished by a society that still believes black men rape white women, but passes off as ‘boys will be boys’ when white men are accused,” added Ensa. “My father has been publicly lynched in the media.”
Her sister’s personal statement also included a scolding of the press for spreading “gossip” for entertainment.
“What my father and family had to endure the last few years makes me ashamed of our country today,” said Erinn. “I cannot understand how our society has permitted my father to be condemned so unjustly and cruelly in the court of public opinion without evidence or proof and with no verdict or judgment.”
The alleged victim in the Pennsylvaniacase, former Temple University employee Andrea Constand, claims Cosby drugged and sexually assaulted her in 2004.
In February 2005, authorities announced Cosby would not be charged over Constand’s allegations of sexual misconduct, citing insufficient evidence.
Constand filed a civil lawsuit against Cosby later that year which was settled in 2006 for an undisclosed amount.
In December 2015, Cosby was charged with three counts of aggravated indecent assault against Constand.
The Montgomery County District Attorney announced that decision just weeks before the statute of limitations ran out in the case.
A deposition from the Constand civil case, where Cosby seemingly admits to giving women drugs in order to have sex with them, will be presented by the prosecution at trial.
Cosby has maintained he is innocent of any crimes.
If convicted, he could face a 30-year sentence in prison.
(AllHipHop Rumors) Melo and LaLa are finished! Or so we thought. The pair spent a good part of Mother’s Day with their son Kiyan. The 10-year old lil guy seemed to be very happy to have both parents.
Check out the video of them going into a swanky NY restaurant.
This video looked weird. But this is really a good way to move forward since they have a son. Neta is a fancy restaurant in the village. I don’t think this is truly and sort o f reconciliation. I think its really just them keeping the peace. Some of suggested that they even called the papz on themselves but I cannot see why they would want this on Mother’s Day.
The recently released sequel also features longtime Drake producer Boi-1da.
“Huge thank you to Drake and di big bredda 1Da for the support on T-Dot Goon Scrap DVD 2! This is definitely a big moment for us and we also want to thank you ALL for years of support! The love y’all show really means the world to us,” reads the YouTube description for “T-Dot Goon Scrap 2.”

(AllHipHop Editorial) I was toying around with the Dear Mama app on http://dearmama.alleyez.com/ and it made me think how powerful the song Tupac composed was in 1995. Seriously. It is just that simple.
When Pac recorded ”Dear Mama” he set an incredible precedence that caused the rest of the hyper masculine, hardcore Hip-Hop community to follow suit. Since its release scores of odes to mothers have emerged. And that is a great thing. February 21, 1995. Further more, the emotive, brutally honest song was also the the lead single from Me Against the World (1995), almost unfathomable in today’s musical climate.
Even though Tupac’s set the standard, his song will forever stand out for two reasons – Afeni and Shakur. Despite what some trolls have stated on social media, Afeni Shakur is a revolutionary, activist, humanist, Black Panther and soldier in addition to being Tupac’s mother. Is. Her spirit of power, resolve and triumph continues to live within us. In that respect, Afeni isn’t completely unique.
Far too many people gravitated to “And even as a crack fiend, Mama / You always was a black queen, Mama” and fail to look at the vast complexities of Blackness in America. It has been stated that when American catches a cold, Black American catches pneumonia. Black women have often carried the weight of a nation on their back, in a selfless, quiet way in most instances. And they have had burdens that would break others. I think of my own mother and grand mother as well as the scores of mothers that I know. They have demonstrated incredible patience, passion and have continued to push even when they didn’t get the love in return.
Everybody isn’t on a podium, social media or tv but they are doing the “work” that matters most. As I get older, I start to realize the struggle my mother had to have coming up, raising two boys to men, maintaining her career and continuing to be happy amidst insurmountable odds. Most people don’t realize that “Dear Mama” didn’t only represent for Afeni Shakur, it was representative of Black moms, which is why it is the Gold Standard.
So, on this Mother’s Day, I implore you to think beyond the social media posts, cards, hashtags and dinners at Red Lobster. Ponder the exquisite intricacy of mothers, aunts, grands and others that fulfilling those duties, and how truly critical they are to our universe.
Moms have an … interesting relationship with rap, from beautiful odes like “Dear Mama” and “Dance” to the complete opposite in “Cleanin’ Out My Closet.” Mother’s Day is here again, so we wanted to take this opportunity to recognize the weirdest moments for moms in rap.
That Time Cam’Ron Let His Mom Rap
Dedications to mom are a commonplace now, but Killa Cam took it to the next level when he let his dear, lovely mother rap on his debut album in 1998. A wonderfully weird dedication to one of the realest, Fredericka Giles.
Crying Christian Mom Reads “Norf Norf” Lyrics
Parents hate on rap lyrics all the time, but this mom took it to new heights when she spent 11 minutes ranting about how Vince Staples is poisoning our youth. There would be nothing to see here if she hadn’t spent 5 minutes reading lyrics to the 3-minute track, perfectly peppering in uninformed social commentary, sobbing, and of course, a healthy dose of N-words.
And of course the internet blessed us with a remix, lining up the original Clams Casino beat with her painfully awkward reading.
Of all the things moms are known for, being cool isn’t always one of them. But Kristen’s mom isn’t just cooler than your mom — she might be cooler than you. Upon boarding her flight and locating her seat, she realized she was sitting next to the one and only Rich Homie Quan. Naturally she had to snap a selfie, which both her and Quan texted to her daughter. Quan even explained to her that “My hitta, my hitta” (a text which she had sent to her daughter) was the censored version of his hook on YG’s “My N####.” LOL
Shout out to her mom for knowing who he was and giving her daughter a dope memory.
As fans of hip-hop, we’re subjected to a lot of cringe-worthy music from people who have no business behind a mic. That’s exactly what happened when Teen Mom star Farrah Abraham’s mom, aka DebzOG, launched a personal attack on our ears. It sounds like an even more antiquated and whitewashed version of a PG-13 movie rap. Imagine a parody of a rap song that’s meant to be taken 100% seriously — that’s what this is.
And if that’s not bad enough, she’s wearing a leather and fur outfit that makes 2007 Britney Spears look classy.
Eminem Cleans Out His Closet
Eminem spent his best years bashing his mom to Hades, but he flipped it suddenly on “Headlights” in 2014. The audio apology was so deep, it was odd. Hopefully, they have fixed their issues.

“Travel day. NYC press run for “Growing Up Hip Hop”. Let’s gooo. I promise to bring y’all the hottest show EVER. May 25th on @wetv” The post was made on Instagram on May 8th,” he said.
The cat was out of the bag when a traveler on a commercial flight took to social media to confirm that Bow Wow and them were on the exact same commercial flight. The guy took to Twitter and blasted Bow Wow, saying, “Lmfaooooo who’s mans is this @smoss?!” The photo spreaded like wildfire through the Twitter world, gaining over 30,000 retweets and over 40,000 likes. After @Al_Khee took to Twitter with his photo and tweet, a viral challenge sparked, titled the #BowWowChallenge. In the challenge millions of others mocked the rapper/actor in their own attempts of sharing things that would be considered funny if lied about. Even a few celebrities chimed in, including Jim Jones, Meek Mill & 50 Cent, Trey Songz and even Chris Brown. The image of the jet and sprinter van was actually taken from a Hallandale Beach, Florida transport company. They saw the whole thing as a major business boost for them. Phones were ringing off the hook as people would call in and visit their website, mentioning Bow Wow. The Hallandale Beach company welcomes Bow Wow with open arms. “Bow Wow, when you come to South Florida, let us be your ride.”
Insiders are saying that Bow Wow may have had a connect with the transport company AND it was an orchestrated TROLL
to promote a TV show that we won’t be watching. Do you think that is what happened?
