Is There A Joint Lil Wayne & Chief Keef Album On The Way?

(AllHipHop Rumors) I don’t know about this one man…….

Word on the street is that Lil Wayne and Chief Keef may be gearing up to create a joint album.

Out of all the rappers that I’d take a joint Lil Wayne album from, Chief doesn’t come to mind or make the list.

Anyway a video has surfaced of Chief Keef‘s team discussing an upcoming joint project from Keef and Lil Wayne.

Allegedly the collaborative effort will be called ‘Young Glo Money’, and it will drop sometime in August.

“We just did an album with Lil Wayne b-tch. Sosa and Lil Wayne got an album coming out in August. Sosa and Lil Wayne in August, the album, Young Glo Money. It’s called Young Glo Money, Lil Wayne and Chief Keef. The album coming out August, Young Glo Money,” said one of the crew members.”

Is this what you wanted? Is this what the streets have been asking for? LOL. What are your thoughts?

Chief Keef Associate D. Rose Sentenced To 40 Years In Prison For Murder

(AllHipHop News) An alleged Chicago gang member associated with rappers Chief Keef, Lil Reese, and Lil Durk, has been hit with a 40-year prison sentence, due to his involvement in the death of a 14-year-old in 2014.

D. Rose, born Ahbir Sardin,  was convicted of shooting a teenager named Venzel Richardson.

Yesterday, (February 7), D. Rose, who is a member of the infamous Black Disciples street gang, was sentenced to 40 years in prison in the death.

Police said D. Rose, 20, killed the teen on February 12, 2014, when he pulled up on Richardson in a white minivan, slid the driver’s side door open, and shot at him and his friends, multiple times.

Richardson was struck multiple times, and died on the street shortly after the shooting.

Tyga Hit With Lawsuit For Ordering His Crew To Beat Up A Process Server

(AllHipHop News) Rapper Tyga and his team have been sued by a process server for allegedly assaulting him in November.

The “Rack City” hitmaker was served with court papers as he arrived at Penthouse nightclub in West Hollywood on November 18 to celebrate his 27th birthday.

Video footage showed the process server handing the rapper the papers as he made his way from his car to the club’s entrance despite being pushed away by the rapper’s security guards.

The server has now filed a lawsuit over the incident, claiming he was “grabbed, yanked, pulled and choked” by a member of Tyga’s entourage.

He claims Tyga, real name Michael Ray Stevenson, green lit their violent behavior.

It is not known what lawsuit Kylie Jenner’s boyfriend was being served with back in November, but days after the incident, it was reported he had been sued by car dealer Alex Benedict for failing to keep up with monthly payments on a red Ferrari.

Benedict claimed Tyga had signed a lease agreement in May for a Ferrari 488 but it was repossessed in August after he failed to pay.

They allegedly reached another deal to use the sports car until October but the rapper missed the deadline to return it and it was repossessed again.

Benedict then sued him for at least $150,000 in damages.

Tyga has allegedly had a number of similar issues with other cars and the lawsuit was the latest in a long line of legal woes.

Last year, he finally settled a case relating to a long-running jewelry debt with bosses at the Jason of Beverly Hills store, after he allegedly failed to return a diamond Cuban link chain and a diamond pantheon watch he had borrowed in 2012.

He was first ordered to pay up in 2014 but failed to do so.

The retail bosses went back to court to demand payment, and Tyga finally agreed to hand over the outstanding funds in November.

My Five Firsts: D.R.A.M.

(AllHipHop Features) D.R.A.M. will spend much of this Sunday patiently waiting to find out if he’ll be adding “Grammy winner” to his career accomplishments. The German-born, Virginia-raised vocalist’s Top 5 smash hit “Broccoli” is up for Best Rap/Sung Performance at this year’s ceremony.

That particular Grammy category is highly competitive with records by Beyoncé, Kanye West, and Drake also nominated for the award. A win would be great, but D.R.A.M. is already riding high over the fact he has earned his first nod from The Recording Academy.

AllHipHop.com spoke with the singer-songwriter to get his initial reaction to finding out he was officially a Grammy nominee. The discussion also consists of D.R.A.M. reflecting on penning his first song as well as the first time he met face-to-face with his “WiFi” collaborator Erykah Badu.

With “Broccoli” going double platinum, the Big Baby D.R.A.M. album earning critical praise, and a well received international tour continuing until June, Idnit the dog’s best friend is one of the brightest new voices in Hip Hop and R&B. So it’s the perfect time to see some of the history behind how D.R.A.M. became an award-nominated performer.

First Time You Wrote A Song

Me and my boy TJ – he goes by the name of Perfekk now –  were like 16 years old. There was this song called “Introduction” or something like that. We recorded it with this guy named Mr. Kelsey. He put it on a little CD. We got in the car and listened to it. The guy who actually recorded it, ejected the CD, took an ink pen and scribbled all over it, broke it, and threw it out the window. He said, “I’d never record this!” [laughs] That’s a true story.

First Time Performing On Your Own Tour

Nashville was crazy because it was a real question on what was the crowd going to be like. We had never hit Nashville. The fact that we sold the show out was already a blessing. Then we got so curious to see the crowd. It was so many different people. I just took it all in like, “They’re here to see me?” It was really a one-of-a-kind feeling.

First Time Meeting Erykah Badu

That sh-t was lit. This was down at SXSW [Festival]. It was at one of the sponsored shows where she headlined as a DJ. I was on the bill as well. We had been conversing, but that was the first time we met in person. I went into her dressing room. It was so dope. A few days later, we ended up linking up and working in the studio. That was even more lit. It was pretty monumental.

First Time Finding Out You Were Nominated For A Grammy Award

Oh my God. I was in Brooklyn. I was cooling with my homegirl. It was mad early in the morning. I don’t even think I went to sleep the night before. Then I put out a random ass tweet like “Big Baby” or something stupid. Somebody responded back immediately like, “I hope the Grammys don’t snub you today.”

I had no idea anything was going on with the Grammy announcements. So I was like, “What the f-ck is this n-gga even talking about?” Like fifteen minutes later, I get a call from my manager Tunde. He’s like, “It’s f-cking lit! We’re Grammy f-cking nominated! I’m about to send you this screenshot.” All of a sudden, I just started jumping on the bed. Oh my god. I can’t… You know what I’m saying? That sh-t was crazy.

First Time Hearing A Parliament-Funkadelic Song

Okay. I’m going to give you the first time that made me fall into the trance of loving and studying Parliament-Funkadelic. I think I was like 19 years old. I was riding around, getting high. I finally get back to the crib. I go upstairs in my room. My room had a computer, so I would make beats and songs. But I would also listen to music.

I had just recently downloaded the entire discography of Parliament. Then I went to Motor Booty Affair, track 3 – “(You’re a Fish and I’m a) Water Sign.” It was so bass heavy and trancey. It was a song about a request to have sex with a girl. It’s supposed to be like a bar underwater. It’s all these innuendoes about water, but it sounded so glorious.

The way my rinky-d### speakers were set up the subwoofer was overpowering the speakers. I swear I had the record on repeat for two hours. I was just sitting there vibing. I was crying to that sh-t, and it’s not even a song about emotions. It’s got to be in the top 5 greatest records I’ve ever heard in my life.

O.T. Genasis To Perform As A Hologram For $20,000 Club Gig (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) Remember when the 2Pac hologram at the 2012 Coachella Festival shocked the world.

At the time, it seemed as if virtual performance would be the next huge trend in the industry.

It didn’t happen, but one current rapper is still embracing the use of holograms.

According to TMZ, O.T. Genasis is being paid $20,000 to hit the stage in projection form.

The “Cut It” performer is reportedly set to do five songs at Heat Ultra Lounge in Orange County, California on February 18.

Soulja Boy Takes Another L!

(AllHipHop Rumors) Hey I wouldn’t trust anyone that continuously gets arrested for something like gun charges and gets out anyway. LOL. Like that’s not how it works unless they are…. nvm.

Anyway in this week of L’s, like his dear friend Bow Wow, Soulja Boy also took another L!

So the internet spent most of last night roasting Soulja Boy so bad about putting up a sonogram pic that didn’t belong to him aka anyone he’s associated with, that eventually he deleted the photo off of all of his social media accounts.

By now, no one believes anything Big Soulja has to say. I mean from fake jewelry, fake houses, fake guns, fake hometowns, fake street cred…we’ve now arrived at fake pregnancies apparently.

So the rapper posted a photo of a baby’s sonogram Tuesday and claimed that he would soon be a father.

It immediately sent people into a research frenzy where people found the same “12 weeks” photo on Google images.

Now no one believes that he is going to be a father. If he really was, couldn’t he have posted the real sonogram?! Many people wanted to know who in their right mind would get pregnant by Soulja Boy in 2017. You’d be surprised though. SMH!

Folks ridiculed Soulja so bad yesterday. I’m starting to think he takes more L’s than Bow Wow and Meek Mill now.

Big Soulja is really starting to sound like the rapper who cried wolf every single time. It’s one thing for a woman to be lame, but when a man is lame and doesn’t know he is…….my gawd! Carry on.

Nick Cannon Talks Hating “StayWoke” And Speaks On Spreading Knowledge

(AllHipHop Features) Nick Cannon is back to music. The multi-media mogul has been busy with a plethora of projects, but music continues to be one of his true passions. He’s got a new song in “Hold On,” which is rapidly gaining popularity, tinged with Bollywood influence. Nick is also getting a lot of traction for his more conscious work and outspoken demeanor. Focused decidedly on the music, AllHipHop’s Chuck Creekmur also talked to him about the state of America under Trump, #StayWoke and why kids need to know Talib Kweli, Mos Def and Common! For more video content go to: AllHipHop’s YouTube Channel.

AllHipHop.com: Now one of the things that somebody said when I told them I was interviewing you, they were like, “Oh he woke! He woke.”

Nick Cannon: I hate that term, yo. I had #staywoke. I hate woke. For the people who started, it started out in a beautiful place but now everybody, especially now, and everybody all of a sudden … Trump done woke everybody up, but I like the term awakened because when you truly understand what this and if you study Buddhism, that’s what the definition actually is, is one who’s awakened and understands the light, you know what I mean? I study all philosophies, not all but many philosophies, you know what I mean?

I spent a lot of time with my Moorish brothers, understanding the mathematics and the blessings in that world. My brothers in the nation, I’ve grown really close to them. I come from a family of ministers in Christianity and so I’ve seen every side of that. I grew up in megachurches. I’ve seen the ones that hustle for the money. I’ve seen the pimps turned preachers, no joke. Go from one hustle to another, but I’ve also seen the miracles and the beauty and the anointing in that world so I know that world is real too.

I’ve understood that, I always say it’s like a meal man or it’s like a phone service. Whether you got Verizon or Sprint as long as your call get through, you know what I mean? I think people need to understand, yo you can borrow from this philosophy. You can understand this philosophy but it’s all about knowledge and information. That’s what breathes wisdom. I don’t have to act or even front like I know anything. I just know I want to know more. I want to understand why these group of people believe this. I want to understand this.

At the end of the day, I don’t believe what people tell me all that. That’s what I think people say that I’m woke because I don’t believe in government. You know what I mean? I don’t believe everything that they telling us in the news each and every night is the truth. I’m always looking for the real answers, or at least a stronger answer, and especially when it comes to our people.

We know that we’re disenfranchised. We know that this system wasn’t set up for us. As a community we got to come together and educate ourselves at every level and invest in ourselves because they clearly show us that the top 3%, the elitist care about them and they don’t care about us so how are we going to change that, so I put my money where my mouth is and really want to help the community, help this education system and help the babies at the end of the day.

If that’s me being woke, I appreciate it, but I’d rather say I’m awakened.

AllHipHop.com: Right. You have a really ill free style that was shared, I mean I saw it repeatedly shared on Facebook. That I think got a lot of people onto you in a more substantial way.

Nick Cannon: Yeah with some substance. What I started doing on Facebook and even on my Instagram, I do focus Sundays. Spoken word is like to me, even as I’m getting older it’s like yo I can’t be rapping about b###### in the club forever, you know what I mean? That’s always been an outlet for me. Poetry and I’ve been inspired by Pac. I’ve been inspired by you know Gil Scott Heron, you know the last poets. I came up listening to that whether it was my pops or my grandfather or whatever having that stuff.

It’s always been in me like I wrote my first poem when I was eight and to actually, that’s my outlet to actually say something. Whether it’s spoken word or freestyle, it’s just like yo I can just give some bars to these young people that that man they not really hearing it.

AllHipHop.com: Yeah.

Nick Cannon: You know what I mean? At the end of the day a lot of these young kids they never heard of Talib Kweli. They never heard of Mos Def. They don’t know Common was an ill-ass rapper, you know what I mean? It’s like they see him as a movie star. I feel like because I love 21 Savage. I love Yachty. I love [Lil] Uzi, but we got to give them something else that they can balance it in. I mean that’s why I salute to cats like Kendrick and Cole, but it needs to be, if we can deliver it in a certain way that you know, dang even Nick Cannon? Get it? You know what I mean? I felt like that was my opportunity and I continue to push that out there. Everybody who’s understanding it and rocking with the sovereignty, I appreciate you.

(AllHipHop News)
Chicago rapper Common has a high profile role in the upcoming movie “John Wick 2.”

The ultra violent action thriller reprises Keanu Reeves’ role as a deranged assassin at war with an Italian gangster, who wants Wick to repay past favors.

Common said filming the movie was demanding on all of the actors, most of whom performed their own stunts.

“When we were fighting, man, he [Keanu] was intense,” Common told Yahoo Movies. “It was intense and we were going at it. Not to hurt each other, but it’s like, ‘Man, I’m about to deliver.’

Common’s role in “John Wick 2” is just the first of several high-profile appearances he will make on the big screen over 2017.

The Windy City M.C. is also starring in the upcoming films “A Happening of Monumental Proportions,” “Coco,” and the movie “Megan Leavey.”

Waka Flocka Planning Gucci Mane Diss?

(AllHipHop Rumors) I don’t know if this is a good idea. But who cares. The word on the street is that Waka Flocka is about to drop a new “diss” to Gucci Mane. That’s what the innaNETS are saying. But…I am not convinced. Now, he has a CLEAR silhouette of Gucci as an angel. Not a diss. He’s dead. Maybe a diss. “Was My Dawg” – sounds somber and introspective. The background has burning buildings. I know the internets are saying this is a diss, but I am thinking it may be an olive branch to an old friend. Gucci just made peace with Rocko and Waka sees an opportunity here – I think. Nevertheless, we will see soon – maybe tomorrow!

Is it time for Waka to just move on? Or can this be repair work?

Are Rick Ross & Migos Member Offset Dating These Reality Stars?!

(AllHipHop Rumors) You know that dating in the industry is like one big swap meet.

Soooo word on the street is Rick Ross’ new chick of the day is reality star and Insta-famous “star” India Love. Love just turned 21 and decided to bare it all for the world to see, as she celebrated what she was once insecure about….her big ol tigo bitties. Thirst trap, thottin is what most called it, however Rick Ross liked what he saw and commented with the diamond emoji under multiple pics.

As you know India Love has been linked to The Game, and she even somehow caused a feud between Soulja Boy and Lil Yachty.

Rumor has it that Love just may be getting involved in Ross’ hair care line with Rich Hair Care products. Mmmmmmmmm Hmmmmmm. She won’t last long if they are romantically involved. Yall know the biggest bawse likes to love them and leave them, but Ross did shout her out with a happy birthday shout out on his page.

Next up for an interesting plot twist of a relationship, wild thang Cardi B is rumored to be dating Migos member Offset. The two were spotted together at the Super Bowl in Houston.

Now you know Cardi is wild as wild can come, and Migos are a pretty wild and rowdy group too, so we wonder how they are meshing right now. Like Ross, Offset is also rumored to have a harem of his own. How long will these new flings last before it’s time to swap out mates again? Only time will tell. LOL.

New Book Analyzes The Art Behind Classic Hip-Hop Mixtape Covers

(AllHipHop News) A new book chronicles the history of some of the most outrageous mixtape covers released by a variety of rap artists.

“Damn Son, Where Did You Find This?” presents a collection of mixtape covers, which authors Tobias Hansson and Michael Thorsby have labeled “masterpieces” of art.

The book analyzes the covers of mixtapes like Gucci Mane, Lil’ Wayne, Meek Mill, Future, 2 Chainz and others.

“Damn Son” authors Hansson and Thorsby point out that a lot of the mixtape covers have actually reflected important events happening society at the time of their release.

For instance, Gucci Mane’s “Burrock Obama” mixtape was a subliminal commentary on Hurricane Katrina.

“Since the days when mixtapes were sold on blankets in the street, it has been common to reflect current events on the cover,” Tobias Hansson and Michael Thorsby wrote of Gucci’s “Burrock Obama” mixtape cover.

“As New Orleans was flooded in 2005, the streets were flooded by Hurricane Katrina mixtape artwork. When President Obama was elected, politics and mixtapes crossed paths again,” the authors note.

“Damn Son, Where Did You Find This?” was originally published as a limited edition book, with 400 signed and numbered copies sold.

A national run of the new edition is due in stores on February 28th.

Ava Duvernay Says Americans Need To Come To Terms With The Legacy Of Slavery

(AllHipHop News) Ava Duvernay wants Americans to learn from South Africa and Germany on how to come to terms with the painful legacy of slavery.

DuVernay is the Oscar nominated director of documentary “13th,” which tracks the story of American racial inequality from the days of slavery to the modern era of mass incarceration.

The film focuses closely on how the 13th Amendment of the US Constitution, which abolished slavery, included language that sowed the seeds for mass criminalization and imprisonment of people of color.

But while it has been critically acclaimed, the Selma director concedes Americans won’t change until they learn to discuss the country’s painful past, and learn how to remember it, like countries such as Germany and South Africa.

When asked in an interview with The Guardian if she thinks 13th will help Americans face up to the legacy of slavery, Compton born DuVernay answers:

“The sad truth is… that some minds just will not be changed.”

However, the director, who has been a staunch critic of U.S. President Donald Trump, believes Americans can learn from the examples of countries like Germany and South Africa, who have reckoned with their own painful legacies.

Adolf Hitler’s Nazi Germany and its collaborators killed an estimated six million Jews in The Holocaust between 1933 and 1945, and South Africa’s system of Apartheid institutionalized racial segregation and discrimination between 1948 and 1991, when it was abolished.

“It might help all of us to once in a while get outside of the United States itself, like go to South Africa or Germany. Because inherent in the very cultural fabric there, you have a sense of the past and of reckoning with it, saying, ‘This happened, and we will bear witness and we will learn from it, we will speak it and say that it happened and we will remember it.’”, she suggests. “And we don’t do that here, so we can’t even have a real conversation about it. Because we have not been taught to talk to each other, and we have not been taught to remember.”

Hit Rap Group Migos Team With Fendi After Missing Opportunity With Versace

(AllHipHop News)It has been a great week for Hip-Hop trio Migos, following the release of their hit album CULTURE.

The “Bad & Boujee” rappers’ latest release is currently sitting at #1 on Billboard’s Top 200 charts, and the group is taking full advantage of their popularity.

The Migos will be the featured guests on an upcoming episode of the “Ellen Degeneres Show” where they will perform their hit “Bad & Boujee,” on February 15th.

When the group scored their first big hit with the song “Versace” featuring Drake from their mixtape “Y.R.N. (Young Rich N##gas),” company officials from the brand wanted to work with the group.

But they “missed the opportunity to go and link” with reps from the company.

Now, The Migos will join a group of other rappers who are helping Fendi and head designer Karl Lagerfeld relaunch Fendi’s website, while celebrating Lagerfeld’s 50-plus-year run as a designer for the Italian fashion house.

Other artists on the bill for the Fendi party include Lil Uzi Vert, 21 Savage, Keith Ape and Metro Boomin. The event, which will take place on February 10th, is part of the annual New York Fashion Week celebration.

The following day (February 11), Migos will head to Los Angeles for a show at the Novo, which will be presented by Microsoft.
