Has Floyd Mayweather Jumped In This Chris Brown / Soulja Boy Boxing Match?

(AllHipHop Rumors) UHM. I can’t keep up with this madness but it seems like this JOKE is percolating into something. I am not sure what, but it sure is annoying. Soulja Boy has apparently signed some “contract” to fight Chris Brown aka Bhris Brown. These dudes are Piru? OK. Anyway, the videos below suggest that there is a fight brewing OR Floyd Mayweather is in on the joke. I think its the latter but I find it hard to believe that FM would allow himself to be swept up in this silliness that Mona Scott should have held onto for Love And Hip-Hop.

So, now we just have to wait for Bhris to sign the contract? Wasn’t dude SB just saying sorry?

The 16 Black Panthers Still Behind Bars

Black Panther alumni celebrated the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Party in 2016. In this informal census ColorLines.com presents the names of those who are still in prison, who were recently released and who died while incarcerated.

Image result for black panthers gif

One of the highlights of 2016 was the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Black Panther Party (BPP), which alumni marked with celebrations and gatherings around the country. But a painful side of the 50-year mark is how many former Panthers and affiliates are still languishing in America’s prisons. The context in which members of the BPP and its underground offshoot, the Black Liberation Army (BLA), were charged, tried, convicted and sentenced supports some of their claims of political repression.

The Black Panther Party promoted armed self-defense against rampant police brutality and anti-capitalist revolution. Their militarized stance, along with “survival programs” such as free sickle cell anemia testing, attracted the intense ire of FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover and President Richard Nixon.

Hoover’s FBI had been infiltrating, spying on and disrupting various political groups through the convert counterintelligence program COINTELPRO since its inception in 1956. The Communist Party was the first target, but by the mid-1960s, leaders and organizations classified as Black nationalist were priorities. In one revealing office memo, Hoover described the BPP’s free breakfast program—not its guns—as “the greatest threat to internal security of the country.” The Panthers were also on Nixon’s infamous political enemies list.

By portraying the BPP as a major threat, Nixon and the FBI gave local authorities permission and incentives to help infiltrate, surveil, lie to, raid, frame, injure, murder and incarcerate dozens of BPP members and affiliates. In this climate, BPP and affiliates often faced manufactured or excessive criminal charges. Some were convicted due to false, inconclusive or non-existent evidence. Some were tortured into confessing to crimes they did not commit. Witnesses were frequently coerced into lying on the stand or not called at all. Prosecutors concealed evidence and relied on the testimony of paid informants. Judges were blatant about their racial bias.

The majority of BPP and BLA prisoners have appealed their convictions, a slow process that doesn’t tend to allow for challenging evidence presented in an original trial. Their appeals focus on introducing new evidence and proving a lack of due process. Because most of these cases involve the death of a police officer, BPP and BLA prisoners up for parole are frequently stymied by pressure from victims’ families and police unions. Many have been held in solitary confinement, some for decades.

ColorLines.com has crafted a list of BPP and BLA participants still behind bars and the amount of time served. Based on court documents associated with their appeals and news reports, they also present the broad strokes of controversy surrounding their cases.

Was Azealia Banks Banned From Facebook For Calling Brazilians “Third World Freaks”?

(AllHipHop News) Azealia Banks is starting to run out of social media platforms.

The controversial artist was kicked off Twitter last year for what were perceived to be racist comments directed at Pop singer Zayn Malik.

Banks is also no longer on Facebook.

According to reports, the “212” performer’s account may have been removed from the site because of her statements about the citizens of Brazil.

“I didn’t know they had internet in the favela,” stated Banks. “When are all of these third world freaks going to stop spamming my page with broken English over things they know nothing about.”

There is speculation that Banks may have deleted her own Facebook page over negative comments from other users.

Over the weekend, the Harlem native expressed concerned about supposed bots taking over the comment section of her page.

Many users criticized her for admitting that she sacrifices chickens for religious reasons.

Banks wrote, “I tried moving from Twitter to Insta to Facebook to try and get away from the pests, but they just follow me EVERYWHERE I GO LOL.”

The Azealia Banks verified Instagram page is still active.

LOL! The Game Feels The Same Way As Most About The Soulja Boy/ Chris Brown Beef

(AllHipHop Rumors) By now you are either fed up, dissapointed, or entertained by the ongoing beef between Big Gucci Soulja Boy and ganster singer Chris Brown.

West Coast rapper The Game seems to have his own response to their ridiculous e-beef.

The Game leaned on Menace II Soicety to seemingly express his feelings about this Hip Hop & R&Beef quarrel.

Game took to his Instagram to post a subliminal message to show his apathy towards the two artist’s internet word war.

Yesterday [earlier in the day of course] Chris Brown accused Soulja Boy of trying to apologize to him and squash the beef, but neither party had really given in all the way until Soulja issued another apology once his mother was hospitalized

Soulja Boy got internet embarrassed yesterday as it seemed like he got jumped and got his phone jacked while on Instagram live claiming to have ties to the Piru gang. Another video from a different angle surfaced showing Soulja Boy acting like he really wanted to square up, however we all know SB is really not about that life.

Can anyone tell me why they are so interested in trying to “be hard” instead of things like paying it forward or making more money etc.?

Nicki Minaj & Meek Mill May Have Called It Quits For Good!

(AllHipHop Rumors) While DraLo seems to be heating up, OMeeka may be OVER!

All fake things must come to an end! For weeks make up to break up rumors have plagued Meek Mill and Nicki Minaj’s relationship. A woman claiming to be Meek Mill’s side chick even came out and said that the relationship was completely contrived.

Now it looks like Meek and Nicki may be calling it quits for good.

According to TMZ, Omeeka may be over because they usually party together on holidays but they allegedly weren’t together on Christmas or New Year’s Eve.

Apparently Meek and Nicki performed at separate venues in Miami for NYE as well as partied at separated ones following their performances.

Nicki decided to stay at E11even nightclub after her performance, and Meek decided to stay at Dream a few miles down the road after his.

This really doesn’t raise a red flag because they may have stayed due to contractual obligations, however, you would like to think that each one of them would’ve done a walk through at the other’s party.

Now in interesting news, Minaj showed up at her venue at 11:30 PM, and Meek didn’t show up at his until 2:40 AM. With this said, why didn’t he ring in the New Year with his boo Nicki?

They’ve also been spotted partying separately a lot lately despite being in the same city.

Idk. Idk. Maybe each person doesn’t feel like going out sometimes. LOL. What are your thoughts? While this relationship has ALWAYS seemed fake, it makes you wonder if it was actually real because of how long it has lasted.

Is Nas Really One Of The Worst Beat Pickers?

(AllHipHop Rumors) Hmmmmmmm. It makes you stop and ask, does Hip Hop legend Nas have a great ear when it comes to picking beats?

While Nas is certainly regarded as a Hip Hop legend, the emcee is often criticized for allegedly picking terrible beats for his songs. Eminem has been criticized for this as well.

Perhaps Nas raps on beats that match his demeanor, style, and flow etc.

DJ Vlad recently sat down with Salaam Remi to get his opinion on Nas’ music and production over the years, especially since Remi has produced a lot for Nas.

Vlad has repeatedly expressed that he feels that Nas is one of the worst beat pickers of all time with the exception of ‘Illmatic’. He feels like when he puts out his bodies of his work in comparison to other artists of his caliber, beat wise, his music isn’t consistently as strong as a Jay Z, Kanye, Drake etc.

Salaam pointed out that Nas doesn’t care what anyone thinks, and that “beat picking” is not his lane or his zone. He writes to what he actually feels inspired to. He writes and picks his album based on the content of lyrics he’s on, not necessarily what everyone thinks is the hottest beat.

Now while solid, and what I like to call “nasty” production definitely helps to make and compliment a track, some argue that things like lyricism and delivery hold more weight.

Remi brings up a good point, how many artists have been in the game as long as Nas, and have been doing it as consistently as he has? He also says people shouldn’t live for critics or their opinions.

What are your thoughts? Are all components needed to make a great track? Does the content of Nas’ music outweigh his beats? Is he that bad at picking beats? Does it matter? Does Nas have subpar production?

“F-ck Soulja Boy!” Man Who Pushed Soulja Boy Dares Him To Come Back To The Hood!

(AllHipHop Rumors) Yesterday the internet exploded with an e-beef between “ganster” rapper Soulja Boy and the “bad boy” of R&B Chris Brown.

The two went from hurling insults, threatening each other with the fade, and both claiming to be members of the Fruit Town Piru set of the Blood gang.

A video hit the net that seems to suggest that Soulja Boy got jumped and jacked for his phone on Instagram live. Luckly for the consistent “L” taking rapper, another video from a different angle surfaced showing Soulja Boy attempting to actually “square up”, after he put his own phone down on the ground.

I’m still wondering why Big Soulja didn’t put his phone is his pocket though.

Anyway, on both video clips Soulja Boy is shown getting rejected by a man he was trying to incorporate as a co-sign in his gang and street credit.

No one takes Soulja Boy and his prop guns and imaginary goon lifestyle serious, but people did give him a temporary hold on his “L” once they realized that he didn’t in fact get jumped.

Wellllll the man who pushed Soulja Boy on Instagram Live has now responded. He says it’s f-ck Soulja Boy right now. According to him he has love for the man Soulja was with, but it’s personal with Soulja Boy.

He dares Soulja Boy to come back to the hood by himself. I’m trying to figure out is this guy more upset about SB’s claim of being affiliated with the Piru gang or just the fact that Soulja Boy touched him.

While I don’t condone violence and any of this f–kery, am I the only one that wondered why he didn’t address Soulja Boy more on location instead of making another video.

All of these cats are misguided souls begging for attention.

I’m truly drained by all of the ignorance and calls for violence, “gang members” and guns in general, and especially this week.

Janelle Monae Gives Pharrell Williams Credit For Her Acting Career

(AllHipHop News) Singer Janelle Monae credits Pharrell Williams with giving her the confidence to be a movie star.

In the past 18 months the “Tightrope” singer, 31, filmed her first live-action movie roles starring in “Moonlight” and “Hidden Figures.”

Despite both films garnering huge praise from critics when filming the latter movie, Janelle relied on Pharrell, who helped produce “Hidden Figures” and co-wrote the score, for reassurance she could cut it as an actress.

“He (Pharrell) pulled me to the side and he said, ‘Listen, I just want you to know that I believe in you as an actor, I believe in your ability to do movies. You must continue to pursue this,'” she recalled to the New York Times. “I said, ‘O.K., Pharrell. All right. If you say so.'”

“Hidden Figures” follows three female African-American mathematicians whose work for America’s National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) helped John Glenn successfully become the first U.S. astronaut to orbit the Earth in 1962.

Pharrell told the newspaper he was drawn to help make the movie, based on a book by Margot Lee Shetterly, as, “There needs to be a narrative that is shared by both men and women. The female contribution can be hid no more.”

Such was his intensity in ensuring “Hidden Figures” was a success he even watched raw footage of Janelle’s performances every day, a habit she said made her “freak out” before getting reassurance he loved her portrayal of NASA engineer Mary Jackson.

Despite being a relative novice in Hollywood terms, having only executive-produced one movie, 2015’s “Dope,” Pharrell said he had a hands on role in advising the “Hidden Figures” cast and crew.

“Oftentimes I would have an opinion about things, beyond just the music – they would listen,” he added. “I’m appreciative for that wiggle room and to be part of the conversation.”

“Hidden Figures” had a limited opening on Christmas Day, before hitting more cinemas on Friday (January 6).

Super Producer Mr Lee Loses Attorney Over Non-Payment

(AllHipHop News) It looks like hit producer Mr. Lee will have to find a new attorney in the latest development in the fraud lawsuit of Elder Entertainment vs. Leroy Williams DBA Mr. Lee.

William E. Taylor Esq. of Taylor and Sharp, filed a motion to withdraw from the case due to non-payment of funds right before the New Year holiday.

Mr. Lee  has produced for artists like Scarface, Slim Thug, Paul Wall, E40, R Kelly, Lil Keke and Pimp C.

In the lawsuit filed in May of last year, Plaintiff Ryan Elder, President and CEO of Elder Entertainment, alleges that Mr. Lee as well as agents of his, to whit, Theron Parker, Chad ‘BC’ Newton and David Smith AKA David Stunts took funds from him for contractually agreed upon services, some of which were never delivered.

Other grievances include the double selling of beats and tracks with features from a host of well-known music artists that had been purchased by the plaintiff and the selling of beats he claimed to have produced that were in fact produced by other parties.

The list of feature artists to whose verses Mr. Lee laid claim include Rick Ross, Ludacris, Too Short, Lil Wayne, David Banner, E-40, Bun B, Scarface, 2Chainz, Yo Gotti, Devin The Dude, Lil Keke, Z-Ro, Slim Thug, OG Ron C and more.

Artists Mr. Elder claims used beats purchased from Mr. Lee that were already contractually owned by Mr. Elder include Slim Thug and Beatking.

Said tracks were then distributed on the accused’s music projects allegedly despite it being known that the music was not theirs to distribute.

While no update has been received on the case of Elder Entertainment vs. Beatking, the suit naming Slim Thug was severed from the original case and will be heard separately.

In addition to the double-selling of tracks and features, Mr. Lee and agents allegedly fraudulently took money for both music videos to be produced and shot by David Stunts that were never delivered, as well as illicitly representing themselves as agents of Hoopla Media Group, a distribution company, for a distribution deal that never materialized.

Both Lee and Theron Parker are named under this allegation.

In other lawsuit news, Elder Entertainment DBA Bring It Back Records received a default judgment of $200,000 against former signee Russell D. Woods PKA Rawesome Russ for unpaid expenses and defamation of character.

That judgment was handed down in November of 2016.
