Rich Homie Quan Addresses Having Sex With His Cousin

Photo via Rich Homie Quan’s Instagram

Remember when Rich Homie Quan rapped about sleeping with his cousin in his song “Numbers.” Well Rich Homie Quan recently opened up about the encounter in an interview with Complex. RHQ rapped,

“I ain’t know we were related, but I hit my cousin.”

His lyrics left people confused. It’s like if RHQ did in fact have sex with his cousin, why rap about it? Rich Homie Quan has finally explained the situation. He stated,

“In Georgia, you have big families. So, like, when I say it, I didn’t know the person was my cousin.”

He went on to say the woman wasn’t his first cousin,

“Like a cousin’s, cousin’s, cousin,” he said.

RHQ found out they were related after the fact at a family reunion. Do you think RHQ really had no idea, or he just didn’t care? Hey, we guess we could see how one may not know their extended family. Is this a reasonable explanation? What are your thoughts?

Toyota Misses Opportunity To Do Something Epic With Jay Electronica

I am going to have to  find a way in the room with the decision makers when they seek to infuse Hip-Hop, culture and music in their big budget campaigns. Take the new colorful, delightfully artsy commercial with the eternally enigmatic Jay Electronic and Toyota. What could have been an epic moment in an already epic year, Hip-Hop fans were simply left flustered and, in some cases, upset.

The video is vibrant. There is a dope beat. There is a golden clash of commerce, color and culture. Early in, we see Jay Electronica writing something (presumably rhymes) and later rapping as paint bounces off booming speakers. The only problem: not a single bar is uttered during the whole 3-minute melodramatic episode. The tease was real and it only activated the savage in the rap fan still awaiting an album from Mr. Electronica.

So, we are simply left with more questions from Jay-E. That’s nothing new. Mystery is his brand. Are we going to get an actual track? Will there be a follow-up commercial that reveals a new song? Does this tie-into a bigger project like Jay-Z’s relationship with Samsung? We don’t know, so there is opportunity to make this right. Until then…they just got a free look on a bunch of sites through an artist we respec. That beat was ripe for J.E. to rip too.

Yes, the art was cool, but we all know why we watched the whole video.

Kyle Rapps Drops The Abstract Political “Bunker”

Kyle Rapps delivers a distorted, paranoid new banger for those who keep it 1984, with “Bunker,” produced by NYC’s Dollar Bin. The track is dedicated to his brother, Ben, who resides in the rapper’s former stomping grounds in New Jersey. And whenever they get together, Rapps (who now resides in Mexico City) walks away with lyrical inspiration in the form of out-there ideas and perspectives, some of which helped shape the Cannibal Ox-reminiscent “Bunker.”’

“We did a lot of songs, a lot of rhythms,” Thugger told The Breakfast Club. “So, I guess we’re just placing them – getting them together now. Unfortunately I can’t give you a date on that based on the papers I signed with him that only he can talk about which isn’t fair,” explained the Barter 6 rapper, “It’s like 40 songs – we’ve been working for like 3 years.”

With that in mind, did Thugger Thugger make it on ‘Ye’s WAVES?

Last month rumor hit that Migos’ member Offset, got two women pregnant at the same time. It was said that Offset fathered a secret baby with a woman named Shya L’amour, and that he doesn’t take care of the child. EXCLUSIVE: Adrian Younge Talks Joint Project With Ali Shaheed Muhammad & Possibility Of ‘PRhyme 2’ Album

In part 2 of his interview with AllHipHop.com, Adrian Younge covers some current topics related to pop culture, Hip Hop culture, and the music industry.

With his experience scoring for film and television, Younge shares his thoughts on the controversy surrounding the Academy Awards not nominating any people of color in any of the acting categories. In addition, the conversation features A.Y. explaining why he is disappointed in a lot of modern rap music.

The composer/producer’s own catalog features alliances with notable Hip Hop representatives Ghostface Killah and Souls of Mischief, but there have been a couple of highly anticipated upcoming projects that have been attached to the Los Angeles resident as well.

Many listeners are looking for Younge’s reported joint album with A Tribe Called Quest’s Ali Shaheed Muhammad and the Royce da 5’9”/DJ Premier collaboration PRhyme Two. The LP will be a sequel to 2014’s critically acclaimed PRhyme which sampled Younge’s work.

In the meantime, audiophiles can appreciate Something About April II, the latest solo effort created in the mind of Adrian Younge.

You’ve worked in Hollywood. What are your thoughts about the conversation concerning the Academy Awards not necessarily being as diverse with their nominations as they possibly could be?

It’s a systemic issue. A lot of minorities do not get the chances that white Americans get, because there’s a consensus that white artistry will always outsell any form of minority art. In many of these white executives’ eyes, it’s a fact because of the track rate.

They look at the movies that have predominately white actors and actresses and compare those to the small amount of movies that are predominately minority. They came to an absolute conclusion that the minority films don’t sell. But the stats are fallacious, because minorities don’t get equal footing when it comes to making executive decisions.

The point I’m trying to make is the Oscars are a reflection of Hollywood. The Oscars aren’t only at fault. There’s not a line of demarcation drawn by the Oscar nominations. Because Hollywood is so biased about putting money behind minority products, there’s a residual effect that happens with them not being properly recognized and/or awarded at these major events.

And there’s an argument where you can say, “F*ck the Oscars!” But when you win an Oscar, you’re pay rate goes up. That is real. It’s not just an event. It’s a monumental display of the people that are supposed to be the best at their craft. So it’s something that you can’t just write off.

It starts before the Oscars. Hollywood needs to fix what’s going on. It’s a problem, and it’s been going on for decades.

You’ve worked with Ghostface and Souls of Mischief. It seems like you tend to collaborate with lyrical rappers. Is that the type of Hip Hop you find yourself listening to as a fan?

Hell yeah! I don’t listen to garbage. [laughs] Sh*t has to be very artistic for me to get into. I need to really see that they’re trying to challenge with their art. The people I work with are ill. I love everything that they’ve done and do.

I feel like I’m on a high level as far as composition and sonic artistry. I want my counterparts to be better than me or at least at my level. That’s why I try to choose people that are luminaries of their craft.

What’s the status of the joint album with Ali Shaheed Muhammad?

I can’t announce the reason why it’s not out yet. But what I can say is Ali and I had to put that on hold, because we’re scoring a big project right now. The album is almost done. It was supposed to be released in about three months, but we literally had to put that on hold because we’re scoring a major project right now. We still plan to have the album out sometime around summer or fall.

DJ Premier sampled your music for his album with Royce da 5’ 9”,  and Royce announced they’re doing PRhyme Two. Are you going to be directly involved with that?

I’m supposed to be, so we’ll see what happens. I love Premo. I love Royce. Besides the fact I highly revere their craft, they’re just some of the best people you’ll ever meet. I really love those dudes, and I love what they do.

We’ll see what happens. It’s my hope that I’m involved as much as I can be. But it’s really up to those two. I’m the third member of PRhyme, but they could choose to have another third member if they really wanted to. I don’t think that’s going to happen. They haven’t spoken to me about that, but I have to be respectful of what they want to do.

You collect vinyls, and your music is a favorite among a lot of people who listen to vinyl. Why do you think vinyl has become such a popular format again?

There’s many reasons. One is that vinyl has a far superior sound. That’s a fact. The resolution is much higher. Also, vinyl is a very artistic format. You have a big record cover. We want to own records for the cover alone.

Also, records are a big piece of tangible property that connects with the artists that you love. A CD is a small piece of plastic that can break. An MP3 is something that doesn’t sound as good as even a CD.

People are starting to realize that quality has been lost in the art, and people are starting to gravitate toward good sh*t again. Right now vinyl is outselling CDs. It’s that time, and I’m happy about that.

Do you feel the same way about the direction of Hip Hop culture? Do you feel like it’s starting to switch back to focusing on the artistic elements and not just the “turn up” or just a catchy hook?

Honestly, I don’t even live in that world. I’ve been so disappointed in Hip Hop that I just left. I’m an avid participant of the Hip Hop culture. I’m Hip Hop to death. But as far as listening to a lot of modern sh*t, a lot of it is so garbage to me. I just can’t do it.

There’s hella dope sh*t, but it’s just so disappointing that a lot of the wack stuff gets the notoriety that it shouldn’t. A lot of wack stuff is guiding a culture of people that would have benefited from learning about Hip Hop through people like A Tribe Called Quest or Public Enemy. Not people rapping about how much money they got in the strip club.

There is a lot of dope new sh*t. But a lot of that dope new sh*t doesn’t get the love that it should. That’s kind of wack. I just don’t listen to a lot of modern stuff. I can’t even really talk about that, because I’m not that educated. I gave up a long time ago.

Statik Selektah And KXNG Crooked Tells The Youth To Study Their Craft

No doubt about it, agism is running wild in Hip-Hop these day. Young guns taking shots at the OG’s is a borderline epidemic these days.

Thankfully, hardcore-composer Statik Selektah and Slaughterhouse mainstay KXNG Crooked, collectively known as Staik KXNG sat with AHH’s MrMecc to call out Earl Sweatshirt, Vince Staples and everyone else with a disrespectful tone. Selektah says;

Hey Earl Sweatshirt, You’d be hanging out on Fairfax asking for money on your skateboard if it wasn’t for Eminem.

Watch this interview and take heed.

EXCLUSIVE: MMG’s Stalley Explains Why He Didn’t Get Involved In Rick Ross, Meek Mill & Wale’s Feuds

(AllHipHop News) Maybach Music Group members Rick Ross, Meek Mill, and Wale found themselves involved in several feuds over the last year. While the three chart topping rappers took aim at their rivals from other camps like Drake and 50 cent – and in some cases each other – fellow MMG representative Stalley stayed out of the conflicts.

The Ohio native spoke with AllHipHop.com about his decision to not take on the beefs of Ross, Meek, and Wale. According to Stalley, he still represents MMG, but the “Boomin” rhymer does not see the need to jump into situations that do not directly involve him.

“I think everybody who’s seen me over the years with MMG – I’ve always been one who stays to myself,” said Stalley. “This is not a choice that I make. It’s just who I am. I’m still with the family. I’m still part of it, but I’ve always walked to the beat of my own drum.”

He added, “I’m not into those type of games. I don’t got no problems with nobody. I don’t try to make issues with anyone. I just stay to myself. I stay out the way and let them move how they move.”

Stalley also addressed Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s plan to ban Muslims from entering the United States. As a follower of Islam, Stalley takes issue with the billionaire business magnate targeting a particular religion.

“For [Trump] to say that he wants to ban, kick out, or not allow Muslims into this country, it’s just blasphemy. Muslims have helped build this country. Some of the most powerful people have been American Muslims,” stated Stalley. “It’s sad to have somebody that ignorant be a voice for people to actually rally behind what he’s saying and take his message serious.”

Kanye West Gets Put On Blast By Former P### Star!

Wiz Khalifa & Kanye West’s public Twitter battle made the internet plenty entertaining yesterday. Although bad girl Rihanna dropped a single that climbed to No. 1, the Twitter beef almost seemed to overshadow that. Wiz Khalifa did not like the idea of Kanye West changing his next album’s title from ‘Swish’ to ‘Waves’ as he expressed that Max B was the truly wavy one. When Kanye responded he insulted Wiz Khalifa about everything from his music and style to his decision to have a child with Amber Rose.

Kanye took it a little bit far when he told Wiz that he let a stripper trap him and that he knows Wiz is mad as every time he looks at his son he looks at “this girl got you for 18 years.” As the stripper Ye was referring to was obviously Amber Rose, she wasted no time firing back. Amber shut it down with two tweets, one revealing that Kanye would have her play with his a**hole. It seems like Amber also found an ally in former p### star Lisa Ann. Lisa took to her Twitter to also put Kanye on blast as she tweeted,

“I will spend the night organizing old emails from Kanye, including the amazing c### shots he sent unwarranted, all strippers rejoice! LOL. Kanye says you let a stripper trap you. I’m sorry, are strippers a new race we don’t know about Kanye? You chased them all me included…. Yes Amber was a stripper and Kim was a married P### Star when she met Kanye. 72 days of hell for poor Humphries. The recent implosion is just the worst.. He talks down on strippers yet married the #1 OG p### star made famous by @RayJ SMH.”

Is Kanye on the Henny again? LOL.

Earl Sweatshirt Slams “White Iverson” Song; Post Malone Responds

(AllHipHop News) With a week that included B.o.B versus Neil deGrasse Tyson and Kanye West vs Wiz Khalifa/Amber Rose, another mini-feud went mostly under the radar. California rapper Earl Sweatshirt decided to blast Post Malone’s “White Iverson” single on Twitter, then the Dallas rhymer sent a subliminal message back at Sweatshirt.

Post got wind of Earl’s tweets and responded on his own timeline by posting, “I don’t sweat sh*t.” He also changed his Twitter named to “Post Sweatpants.”

Sweatshirt has not been one to hold his tongue about other artists’ work. The Odd Future affiliate has criticized Taylor Swift, Drake, and Eminem in the past.

The Internet Goes In On Kanye West Over Amber Rose’s “Fingers In The Booty” Accusation (MEMES)

(AllHipHop News) Kanye West has become the latest celebrity to fall victim to the savagery of the internet. Yesterday (January 27), the G.O.O.D. Music label founder ignited a Twitter war with Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose after he went on an extended rant against Wiz.

LOL! Martin Shkreli May Destroy $2 Million Wu Album

YO! This dude Marty Martin Shkreli is really funny. Ghostface must have really gotten under his skin the other day talking about his nose. Now, it seems like the man known as PHARM BRO now wants to be a real-life super villain. Apparently he now is considering destroying the Wu Tang album he paid $2 million for. OR, he said in an interview with Vice, that he would consider putting it in an extremely remote place so that people would have to travel to like mountains or something just to hear it. The crazy thing is that dude wants to be a real life super villain but may just be in jail like a common criminal. He’s facing some serious charges for taking money from one company to another company. Something of that nature. Anyway…no disrespect to Wu, but they have given us so much music in life….WE GOOD!

Miguel And Travi$ Scott Join The “Waves” Furor

Just moments after Kanye West revealed that he changed the name of his SWISH album to WAVES…all hell broke loose. Mick Jenkins, another rapper of Chi-Town, had a coveted album of the same name just last year. Then a lot of people such as Wiz took exception in honor of the Wave God Max-B. Anyway, now suddenly Miguel and Travi$ Scott (one of Kanye’s muses) are now pushing a new song called “Waves.” Check it out. Is this just them getting in on the action or just a creative coincidence?

A$AP Rocky & Pharrell Drop Some New Heat
