TBT Classics: The Pharcyde Was Dope Even When Runnin’

The year 1995 was an epic year. Many consider it to be the zenith of the coveted Golden Era. The fact is, some classics from that period are more revered than others. The Pharcyde dropped Labcabincalifornia and the album yielded one of the dopest songs ever – “Runnin’ Away,” produced by the late phenom J. Dilla and East Coast beat-god Diamond D. The video for the song weaves playful, fun story after playful, fun story by Imani, Slimkid3, B##### Brown, and Fatlip.

Diddy Introduces CIROC Apple on Late Night with Seth Meyers & Gives Hilarious Explanation Of BET Awards Fall

Sean “Diddy” Combs
introduced the world to CÎROC® APPLE infused Vodka during his recent appearance on “Late Night With Seth Meyers”. CÎROC® APPLE is the sixth flavor in the line extension from the makers of CÎROC Ultra Premium Vodka. The newest variant joins the best-selling lineup which includes CÎROC ® Ultra Premium, CÎROC® PINEAPPLE, CÎROC® PEACH, CÎROC® AMARETTO, CÎROC® RED BERRY and CÎROC® COCONUT. CÎROC® APPLE boasts a vivid green apple flavor infused with a touch of ripeness and a subtly smooth, crisp finish. The newest variant can be enjoyed shaken and double strained, and also pairs excellently with Ocean Spray Cranberry Juice Cocktail®. The liquid also lends itself well to a variety of twists on more traditional cocktails including the CÎROC APPLE MARTINI, Sangria, Mimosa and Cider.

In honor of the launch, CÎROC has commissioned American performance painter and “America’s Got Talent” seventh season finalist, David Garabaldi to share his creative interpretation of the “forbidden fruit” thematic with audiences in New York and Los Angeles. The artist’s masterpieces will be exposed on larger-than-life wallscapes prominently placed in highly trafficked areas during the month of November. The billboards represent the millions of ambitious dreamers around the country who are passionate and committed to what they are made of. These are the individuals who CÎROC Ultra Premium Vodka toasts to every day.

In addition to the bicoastal billboard reveal, Sean “Diddy” Combs also hosted the Emperor’s Ball last night in New York City to celebrate the launch of CÎROC Apple.

“CÎROC® has always focused on innovation and celebration. Our flavors remain at the heart of our unprecedented success. The new CÎROC® APPLE combines one of my favorite flavors with the greatest ultra premium vodka,” said Sean “Diddy” Combs, Chairman of Combs Enterprises.

“We have created a liquid that everyone will want to drink, whether mixing it into fall inspired cocktails or enjoying it in its purest form, on the rocks.”

Check out a clip from Late Night With Seth Myers below as Diddy introduces CIROC Apple and gives a hilarious explanation of his BET Awards fall.

CÎROC® APPLE is now available for pre-order at ReserveBar.com/CIROCApple. Beginning next month, consumers can enjoy CÎROC® APPLE cocktails at top restaurants, bars and lounges across the country with full nationwide distribution expected for January 2016.

Halloween Dedication: Esham’s Red Tape and His Words From Hell

esham
The Red Tape.

Six years before “The Purple Tape,” Raekwon’s classic, got etched into the annals of HipHop history for all eternity there was The Red Tape. That s### is a classic in its own right. I’ll never forget when my man Dalton Robeson showed me The Red Tape. He was a devout member of the Nation Of Islam at the time & had scratched the words “GOD” on one side & “ALLAH” on the other. I had heard rumors about The Red Tape & here one was. Esham was the talk of Detroit. Word on the street was that he was dope. He also professed to be a devil worshiper.

Dalton let me borrow that tape & I probably played it 10,000 times before I was supposed to give it back. As a matter of fact I dunno if I ever gave it back. This tape was f###### crazy. ESHAM & his brother JAMES SMITH had put it out on their own REEL LIFE PRODUCTIONS imprint & somehow secured distribution for this crazy s###. ESHAM coined this s### “ACID RAP” to describe his style & that pretty much explained it. I didn’t really f*ck w/ the satanic joints but he was spitting on this LP. He didn’t sound like a Detroit cat ( born in L.I) but he rapped about Detroit s### & of course devil s###.

He played the role too, driving around Detroit in a hearse. The first time I saw Esham live was a shouted him out on “STILL DONT GIVE A F**K” ( I’m a cross between Esham, Manson, & Ozzy), Esham started a beef w/ Em & D12 which resulted in ESHAM getting lumped up by RunyonAve, D-Tweezy’s military arm. Eventually it all got squashed & ESHAM ended up doing a joint w/ @TRICKTRICKGS, @KIDROCK & PROOF. S**t was cool for awhile, then ESHAM started bugging again, doing interviews & s**t dissing Em & @ROYCEDA59.

Anybody who knows me knows that kinda p##### me off. NOBODY talks s### about 5-9 but ME. I was gonna intervene before somebody got shot in the face, but after talking to ROYCE & @ROSENBERG it was pretty clear that they weren’t thinking about that s### so I said “F**K IT,” & let ESHAM cook. I think ESHAM is still talking s**t about Marshall. Oh well.

ESHAM THE UNHOLY is still legendary & The Red Tape started it all.

Look for this s### & get it if ur not a scary b####.

What Battle Rapper May Go To G-Unit?

50 cent tsu serf“Smack-URL Battle rapper/rap artist Tsu Surf has got a lot of attention over the past few months. Now its rumored that he was in a meeting with 50 Cent this week to talk signing with G-Unit Records. Surf’s popularity started to rise back in May at his battle with Tay Rock. Drake made an appearance there and told Murda Mook (who was also there) that he had to beat Surf in a battle before he could battle Drake. Fans,  The internet, music labels, radio shows and every other outlet started checking out more of Tsu Surf besides his past battles after the Drake co sign.

Surf has two independent albums out already and just this past Friday he dropped another called “Newark”. Since his growing popularity, he was able to get Joe Budden, Jadakiss and Styles P to be apart of the project. As of now “Newark” is number 9 in the top albums on iTunes. The day before the album dropped he was spotted leaving G-Unit’s office in NYC. Through his Instagram, him and his management team posted pics & video clips of them at the office. If this is true, would that be a good move for Tsu Surf?? Its good he is making the transition from Battle Rapper to Mainstream Rap Artist. His music is getting more attention and he is mentioned with Fetty Wap in being one of the top artists coming out of New Jersey. As for G-Unit, Surf could have a lot of pressure on him to “resurrect” a once prominent force/label in hip hop. Luckily if he does sign, 50 is moving in other business besides music. Surf wont have to worry about being in competition with 50 the CEO or 50 “out shining” him. Also the fans on the web listen to who they want now days and they have more control over the flow than the label execs do.”

Young Jeezy Finds Big Victory In Court

Young Jeezy went into the Halloween weekend a happy camper, as he won a major victory over a friend that was looking for $5 million.

Detetrius “Kinky B” Ellerbee said he and Jeezy were best friends and business partners, entitling him to half of Jeezy’s earnings. He pleaded his case stating they formed two record labels and several mixtapes.

Ellerbee stated in court that he was swindled out of royalties and other monies derived from Jeezy’s career. He also said they were close friends since 1995.

The court agreed with Jeezy’s account of their relationship.

A judgement was rendered in Jeezy’s favor. The Georgia legend said that he and Kinky B were not business partners at all and did not have any companies jointly. Jeezy even said they were not friends, even though it is common knowledge that he and Kinky B were close at one point.

Did The Game Fake His “Print”

You know “ClassicOne,” who does most of the rumors is a female so she probably had no issue with The Game and his “breaking the internet.” I think that is grossly misstated! HOWEVER, I am hearing grumblings that the brother Game falsified the contends in those boxers. Now, I am not the one to analyze, but there are some women that are saying that the homie just ain’t packin’ in that manner. Now, only people that have been intimate with him would know that. Word on the block is…somebody may create a twitter account and open up Pandora’s D**k-In-A Box on this one.

Jerry Heller Sues Dr. Dre And Ice Cube For Millions Over ‘Straight Outta Compton’

Jerry Heller, 75, vehemently disagrees with his portrayal in “Straight Outta Compton” and has filed a $110 million, lawsuit to legalize his unhappiness.

Friday, he formally filed a defamation lawsuit against Dr. Dre and Ice Cube for categorizing him as the “sleazy manager who took advantage of Eazy-E, Dr. Dre and Ice Cube.”
