Cam’ron is funny. That’s not a fact hidden to Hip-Hop enthusiasts, but the Dipset don is taking it to the next level with “Word Up,” a new talk show. How real the show is…is questionable. Either way, we were entertained by the couple of minutes it takes to watch. Peep.
Pro Era member Kirk Knight enlists Joey Bada$$, Flatbush Zombies & Dizzy Wright for his latest single “Good Knight”. His debut album “Late Knight Special” drops October 30th.
In the song “Slaughtermouse” Joe Budden pens an open letter to Eminem, ringleader of the Slaughterhouse rap group that has since dissolved into a mere memory. In this interview with Genius, Joe Budden sits down to discuss the lyrics to his open letter to Eminem, off of his new album, All Love Lost. While many thought it was a diss song it wasn’t. Find out why here!
Its 2015 and people are still putting prices on rapper’s chains. I remember Jeezy did that with Gucci Mane like 10 years ago and the hood went crazy! It was like a price on ol’ boy’s head! Now, in 2015, we return to the essence. Miami rapper Stitches is beefing so hard with Tyga that he puts up 10 Stacks for the Cali dude’s chain. I’m thinking these are theatrics, but lets see.
50 Cent has been blasting award shows lately for snubbing his hit Starz series Power on nominations. The Effen Vodka endorser is now calling out the Emmy’s for not recognizing the series, which just finished up their second season.
He also threw major shade at BET when Omari Hardwick didn’t receive a nomination for Best Actor at the 2015 BET Awards.
Though Power didn’t get any nods for the 67th Annual Emmy’s, their competitor did. Empire, which 50 loathes, scored two nominations for Outstanding Costumes and with Taraji P. Henson up for Outstanding Leading Actress In a Drama Series.
Power is a notable series though despite not getting much recognition from award shows. The season two premiere was the most-watched episode of an original series in the history of the Starz channel.
When Yo Gotti first came on the scene you knew from his song “Bricks” that his life and his flow was authentic. Well Gotti is still remaining true to the game and his streets as he rides through his hood on a tricked out bike. Not a Harley or a tricked out motorcycle but a bicycle. Watch below!
A Denver mom has written Fetty Wap a touching thank you letter for serving as an inspiration to her son. In case you didn’t know, Wap was diagnosed with congenital glaucoma at birth, resulting in having one of his eyes removed. He rocked a prosthetic eye for most of his life but decided to stop once he launched his rap career so he could maintain a distinct look.
Brenda Vaden’s 10-year-old son, Jayden, had his eye removed after turning one and being diagnosed with Retinoblastoma, a rare tumor in the retina. He also wore a prosthetic eye, until Fetty Wap hit the scene. Vaden says that her son has now been inspired by Wap’s courage and has stopped wearing the prosthetic eye as well. She took to Facebook to express her gratitude to the New Jersey spitter. Take a look at the post below.
Jayden Vaden
(Warning: long sentimental post ahead) Today I am forever thankful to a young man named Willie Maxwell aka Fetty Wap. While his music is catchy (not always agree with his lyrics but hey who am I to judge…), I’m not necessarily his fan (although Trap Queen is my jam), BUT today I’m his biggest fan.
Many close friends, and of course our family know that Jayden was diagnosed with Retinoblastoma at the age of 1. In result of that he had his right eye removed 2 weeks after his 1st bday. He’s worn a prosthetic eye since then. He has always been terrified of taking it out and would not be caught without it…and then comes along Fetty Wap… Similar to Jayden he lost an eye at a young age and along the way he decided that he didn’t want to wear his prosthetic eye anymore, so he stopped. Jayden, let it be known, is a Fetty Wap fan, a real fan, not like me ha! Well, today, after weeks of asking, Jayden is venturing the world without his prosthetic. I of course am a wreck because this world can be cruel, but so proud of our Boogies. This young rapper unknowingly gave Jayden something we weren’t able to give him-the confidence to be different- and I am grateful to him. Thanks to Fetty Wap for saying F the world this is me, and for helping make our baby boy just a little more remarkable than he already is. And we’ll be purchasing his album, a small thank you to him for changing Jayden’s life forever.
New Orleans bred Adam Wise teams with Kevin Gates for this Best Kept Secret produced banger “YDKM”. If you didn’t know him before you definitely will now. Listen below!
To make sure students were prepared for the school year, Wiz Khalifa stopped by his alma mater, Taylor Allerdice High School, to gift students with all the school supplies they needed. Besides encouraging the kids to stay persistent and work hard during their academic career, Wiz also gave out 1,700 backpacks worth $45,000 to the students.
“It feels awesome to be back at Allderdice,” Khalifa told Pittsburgh News 4. “I love my school. I love Pittsburgh. I love being able to spread some positivity and give kids some hope.”
Principal Melissa Freiz told News 4 that the Taylor Gang rep returning to his hometown high was “huge.”
“It means he hasn’t forgotten where he’s come from, and so for us being able to share this moment with our students, it’s a really big deal.”
Though Fetty Wap’s “Trap Queen” dominated the summer and remained steady on the Billboard charts, it’s far from G-Rated. Thanks to a Tennessee pre-teen, the song received a kids-friendly remix.
A ten-year-old named George Dalton took it upon himself to take a song about Fetty’s trap house bae and turn it into a banger for the playground. In the accompanying video, Dalton has a live band setup and a few curly-haired teeny boppers in the kitchen cooking pies, apple pies that is.
When you search on Hip-Hop blogs nowadays you can’t help but find Chicago rapper Mick Jenkins everywhere. With songs like “The Waters,” “Alchemy,” “Rain” and others Mick has become the soundtrack for many people’s lives for the past year and some change. This is prob the most introspective interview on Mick to date so it’s a great way to get to know this talent. Its very interesting that he doesn’t listen to a lot of new artists but he did pick up the Kendrick and Earl Sweatshirt’s recent project. Def looking forward to getting to know more of Mick’s music. via HNHH.
Fourteen years after her untimely death, Aaliyah’s music will now live on in more ways than one. Perfume company Xyrena will be releasing a fragrance inspired by scents that the R&B songbird wore regularly, according to reports.
Aaliyah by Xyrena, which is a unisex, will be a mix of vanilla, mint, lavender, jasmine, sandalwood, amber, black pepper, violet, leather and mandarin. Five percent of the proceeds will be donated to the The Aaliyah Memorial Fund. Unlike many of the posthumous musical endeavors and Lifetime biopic, her mother Diane Haughton and her brother Rashad were involved in developing the perfume.
The fragrance is currently available for pre-order for $64 and will be available in October.

There’s something about R&B/Soul musician BJ the Chicago Kid that you just gotta respect.. It’s a cold city and there’s so much to that goes down in the streets of Chi-Town and somehow BJ is able to convey all of it in his music. With his lyrics and raspy voice that reminds you of the good ol’ days of R&B like your parents talk about. Ever since “Studio” with Schoolboy Q its like everything that BJ touches turns to solid gold soul. But even though this song has the old school feel, its been updated, its a hit and the rappers all want to work with him. Check this joint here dubbed “Church” with Chance the Rapper and Buddy. Very dope.
Probably not since Game’s “One Blood (Remix)” has a rapper attempted to bring together so many names on one song as Sy Arid Da Kid did with “Say Word.” Christian Lou & Bobby Kritical handled the production for the cut as 27 different artists tackled the track.

You really never know when Jay Electronica is going to drop a new track and straight up go off. It sort of just surprises you like a blindside punch. This time Jay returns with a gem of a track dubbed “Holladay” and the Roc Nation rapper unleashes a gem that some say has been in the vaults for a while. The beat included a dope 80’s loop and makes Jay sound like a real life 70’s action hero with the funk/jazz/soul Bob James sampled beat that embodies all that is classsic Hip-Hop. Does this mean an album is coming? Press play below!
50 Cent is never one to bite his tongue, so it’s no surprise that he is already going at BET over what he believes to be a BET Hip Hop Awards ‘Video Director Of The Year’ snub of Eif Rivera. 50 also said BET has the same list every year. Do you agree?
(AllHipHop News) Since this new era of battle rap has become one of the most popular sections of Hip Hop culture, several professional recording artists have crossed over to the battle realm. Canibus, Cassidy, and Joe Budden have all gone toe-to-toe with seasoned battle rap competitors. Up next Def Squad’s Keith Murray and Onyx’s Fredro Starr will battle each other at an MC WAR event in New York City.
Another rapper with major label experience could be jumping in the ring in the near future. Cory Gunz told MC WAR that he would consider taking a match. The YMCMB rapper reminded the world battling was how he got his start in Hip Hop.
“That’s how I got in the game – battling. It wasn’t publicized,” said Cory.
The “6 Foot 7 Foot” contributor added about possibly joining the list of industry emcees to battle, “If the bread is right, of course, but if it makes sense more. The situation got to make sense for me to do it.”
Cory’s dad Peter Gunz recently spoke with MC WAR as well. The star of Love & Hip Hop offered his thoughts on the upcoming Keith Murray Vs Fredro Starr contest. The battle is taking place at Milk River in Brooklyn. Purchase tickets for the event at mcwars.com or watch the live broadcast on AllHipHop.com.
Dr. Jan Adams blames Kanye West’s mother’s death on Kanye’s cousin. He said Ye can end this by telling the truth. Adams was accused of performing too many procedures on Donda West on the same day, but he said she survived the surgery and was at home. The coroner wasn’t able to pinpoint the exact cause of her death. Adams said Donda West wasn’t cared for properly after her surgery at home by Kanye’s cousin, and this is the reason she died.
