OG Maco Uses BET Awards to Pay Homage to People Killed by Cops

(AllHipHop News) Yesterday (June 28), OG Maco, posted the above listed statement as an Instagram caption, which accompanied a photo of himself at the 2015 BET Awards. Relying upon his action to voice his beliefs, the “You Guessed It” rapper’s t-shirt, which listed the people who have died after interactions with peace officers, made a stoic statement. Mike Brown and Eric Garner are only two of the fourteen snatched souls whose names appear on OG’s shirt.

Samsung and Roc Nation Host Exclusive Concert with Meek Mill, Fabolous, Vic Mensa, Casey Veggies and DJ Mustard

Over the weekend, which happened to be BET Awards weekend, Samsung and Roc Nation hosted an exclusive concert with Meek Mill, Fabolous, Vic Mensa, Casey Veggies and DJ Mustard at the Samsung Studio LA across from the Grove. The private event drew an A-list crowd including actor Jaden Smith, actor Boris Kodjoe, Angela Simmons, recording artist Justine Skye, actor Damien Dante Wayans, recording Jazmine Sullivan, recording artist Wale, TV personality Terrance J, model Sean Ross, and more.

Vic Mensa got the crowd going with “U Mad” and “No Chill” before Casey Veggies took the stage to perform “Back Flip” and “Tied Up”. Fabolous performed his latest tracks including “Ball Drop” and “Lituation” along with favorites “Breathe” and “Throw It in the Bag”. DJ Mustard kept the crowd going with a special hour-long set.

Meek Mill closed out the night with an energy-filled performance of his new tracks, “Check” and “Monster” while also playing fan favorites “Dreams and Nightmares Intro” and “House Party”. In a surprise appearance, Wale joined Meek on stage to perform his hit “Clappers”.

Snypa made a name for himself working with likes of Young Thug, Young Buck, Benzino & Stevie J (Love and Hip Hop), Zuse and many more. DJ Scream along side Marcus “Rip” Rippy formed the new Hoodrich West imprint under Hoodrich Entertainment to give more artist from the West Coast an opportunity to be heard throughout the Southern region. Nipsey Hussle Responds To Charlamagne Tha God Making Fun Of Lauren London

(AllHipHop News) Charlamagne Tha God had jokes for actress Lauren London on Twitter yesterday. The host of The Breakfast Club radio show and the Brilliant Idiots podcast suggested The Game star needed to have on a corset with her outfit at the BET Awards.

Rapper Nipsey Hussle is reportedly dating London, and the California rapper fired back at Charlamagne for mentioning Lauren in his tweet. Nipsey reminded CTG – and the world – about the time Charlamagne ran when he was being attacked outside the Power 105 station.

Kendrick Lamar & Schoolboy Q Discuss Charleston Church Shooting (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) Kendrick Lamar, Schoolboy Q, Jay Rock, Ab-Soul, and Isaiah Rashad sat down with Hot 97 to talk about various topics. Besides covering music, the TDE representatives touched on the recent shooting in Charleston, South Carolina where nine Black church goers were killed by a white supremacist.

“I feel like, personally, there’s an energy that’s trying to spark an evil race war. Because these events are happening back-to-back,” said Kendrick. “It’s demonized events now. It’s starting to get a little deeper than just hatred.”

While K. Dot offered there is a spiritual component to the tragedies happening around the country, Schoolboy Q focused on the media’s coverage of the issues.

“The media loves this, and we just keep giving them more power by talking about it. We know what’s going on. I just think the media needs to stop pushing it in our faces all the time. It makes hate,” Schoolboy added. “You’re sitting their with your daughter watching TV, and they’re talking about a white dude done killed nine Black people in the church. That makes me hate a little bit.”

(AllHipHop News) Some of the biggest music artists at the moment performed at last night’s BET Awards. The ceremony included appearances by Kendrick Lamar, Big Sean, Meek Mill, Nicki Minaj, Fetty Wap, Chris Brown, The Weekend, Tyga, Janelle Monae, and more.

Several special performances were part of the event as well. Sean “Puffy/Diddy” Combs reunited with his Bad Boy Records family. The cast of Empire displayed their real life talents. Smokey Robinson, B.B. King, and Janet Jackson were each honored with tributes.

Quiet, Please: Rihanna Duct Tapes Shut Floyd Mayweather’s Mouth

Yesterday (June 28),  during the 2015 BET Awards, Rihanna seems to have strategically used her camera time. Although seated in the audience, she may have cunningly used her appearance to bring more attention to her upcoming visual for, “B*tch Better Have My Money.” While seated next to the  boxing superstar, Floyd Mayweather, a few commercials pass before Floyd’s hands are eventually bound together. Next, the “Four Five Seconds” singer is seen duct taping shut the undefeated champion’s mouth.

Was RiRi promoting her new visual; or, was she in cahoots with Floyd’s competition, because that was the only way anyone can get a lick in on Money Mayweather? Check out the video and leave a comment.

Meek Mill’s New Album is Out

French Montana – Off The Rip feat. Chinx Drugs & NORE (Video)

Before the BET Awards, French Montana released a new video for his single “Off the Rip”. The single features a mixture of two artists in New York Hip Hop’s past and future, N.O.R.E. and Chinx Drugs. Diddy put on one of the best performances at the 2015 BET Awards, without question. He brought out the whole – well most of – the Bad Boy Records crew! R.I.P. Biggie! But, if you looked fast, Diddy took a tumble as Lil Kim came out to kill her part of the performance.

Dej Loaf Fought Her Former Manager

This weekend, it was reported that Dej Loaf was in a fight with one of her former managers, according to TMZ. The scuffle happened after two of Loaf’s managers didn’t show up during her rehearsal before the awards show yesterday. Their absence lead to her dismissing both of the managers from her team. The Detroit MC and her camp left the fight unscathed, but it’s reported that the manager in the fight left with a scar on his head.

Ice Cube, DJ Yela, and MC Ren Reunite At BET Experience

Naggers With Attitude was one of the most controversial hip hop groups during the cultures early ages, and has also was the first to offer a true sound from the West Coast. However, ever since the group dispersed, none of the artists have stepped on stage. According to the Rolling Stone, Ice Cube has never stepped on a stage with DJ Yela since 1989.

That all changed last night at the BET Experience in Los Angeles when Ice Cube, DJ Yela, and MC Ren linked up on stage. The performance was organized to help celebrate the release of NWA’s feature biopic Straight Outta Compton. Check out the video below.

Kendrick Lamar Performs New Verse On “Alright”

When it comes to Kendrick’s televised performances, you usually don’t know what you’ll get. He either performs brand new music or have dope new additions to some singles. At the BET Awards, Kendrick  performed Alright” from his album To Pimp A Butterfly. In this dope performance, the Cali rapper dropped a new verse on the popular single. Check out the video below.

Did Nicki Minaj Get Safaree Banned From BET Awards?

The BET Awards are one of the biggest shows on TV, but there is also a political/power side that Safaree has to now contend with.

The rapper and former beau of Nicki Minaj vented on social media after he was not allowed to walk BET’s red carpet.
