After many shared show dates, the pair is getting together to produce a film called “The Land,” which stars Michael K. Williams and Badu.
The movie chronicles the life of four teens that seek a better life than the streets of Cleveland, Ohio can afford them. Also, there is the Drug Queen jeoparding everything the boys have worked for.
Nas serves as the producer of the soundtrack and the executive producer of the film.
“The Land” was written by Steve Caple Jr. and Lizzie Friedman and is expected to premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January.
Earlier this week, the Bleacher Report released a video showcasing a sports-themed version of Blackalicious classic hip-hop track “Alphabet Aerobics. Along with the new version of the song, the sports site added a trippy set of animated visuals to follow the increasing speed of the group’s lyrical flow.
Recently, HBO announced that J. Cole’s hometown concert would be produced as a documentary, titled Homecoming, in honor of the success of the Carolina rapper’s The film promises to showcase not only the concert itself, but also footage behind the scenes. There also seems to be appearances from Drake and Jay Z as well. Homecoming will air on HBO January 9th and will also be available on HBO NOW or HBO GO.
Earlier today, several sources have reported that Offset was finally released from jail. The Migos member was locked up for around seven months after being arrested at Georgia State University earlier this year for drug and gun possession charges. Although Offset has been out of the game for so long, he still managed to make a song his first day out. The new single, ironically titled “1st Day Out,” focuses on the rapper’s return to the microphone.
Although ASAP Ferg is currently in Miami for Art Basel, the Harlem rapper surprised many by dropping the new single “Tatted Angel.” Unlike many his more hyper tracks, “Tatted Angel” takes a mellow approach this time around, talking about some of the issues the rapper goes through as he becomes a big name artist. The Hit Boy-produced single released on Twitter earlier today, and is still available to stream via Soundcloud.
David Banner’s The God Box is shaping up nicely. Now the Mississippi rapper is taking it to the next level with “Black Fist,” which is a call to action.
Kendrick Lamar has had a busy year in 2015. Riding off the success of his acclaimed Kunta’s Groove SessionsTour, the California rapper was brought out by Pharrell during the Cali Christmas concert last night. Lamar came out to perform his single “Alright” in front of packed crowd in Inglewood, California. Power 105 happened to record the special moment at Cali Christmas.

While Spike Lee’s latest movie Chiraq has had mixed criticism over the past month since the trailer released. However, one of Chicago’s most outspoken rappers, Chance the Rapper, went to Twitter let his fans know that he will not support the Lee’s new creation. Chance is one of a plethora of rappers from the Windy City who are against the film. Not only did the rapper speak out against Chiraq through his opinion, he tweeted that the city is not supporting it either.

Rapper Stitches got slumped in front of the police and was eventually arrested along with The Game’s manager. The Miami rapper was charged with a bunch of stuff including resisting arrest and drug related charges associated with a small amount of weed they found in his car.
Nevertheless, Stitchy claims he was set up by The Game and the cops. Not sure how, but the police claim they feared that the dude was going to do a drive by. He kept driving past and was eventually trailed by the cops. The Game was inside the club and Stitches was trying to get in. Then…he got into a confrontation with Wack 100 aka Cash Jones, The Game’s manager.
Now, I don’t know if you have seen Wack 100, but dude is big. But, if you see him, he is the sort of gentleman you can imaging knocking a MF out.
Spike Lee’s movie “ChiRaq” is catching hell from the local Chicago community, even though the film is getting good reviews.
Rapper King Louis has not minced words with his latest song, “F**k Spike Lee.”
“F**k Spike…no peace, no pu**y that’s thats bulls**t to me,” Louie raps. The rest of the song does not analyze his issues with the song in any criteria manner.
The premise of the movie is rooted in “Lysistrata,” the Ancient Greek play where women withhold sex to make soldiers stop warring.
Chance The Rapper, who was recently named the Chicagoan of the Year, detailed why he and others are not supporting the movie.
Earlier this year, AllHipHop was in New Orleans for The Buku Project, a music festival that collides Hip Hop, EDM and Art together in one location for two days. The performances this year was crazy! ASAP Rocky headlined the event and performed what was new music from his critically acclaimed project At.Long.Last. A$AP, while there were a plethora of acts like Ghostface Killa x BADBADNOTGOOD, ILoveMakonnen, Lil Boosie, and more causing damage on other stages. Recently, the festival’s official lineup was released, and it only gets better. Buck Project 16′ will promise performances from Kid Cudi, Future, Fetty Wap, Post Malone, as well as Casey Veggies, Earl Sweatshirt, and many other hip hop artists. The festival also announced that legendary New Orleans rappers Mystikal and Juvenile will take the stage together with rapper Fly Boi Keno.

Kanye West and Kim Kardashian have welcomed their second child. Kim gave birth early Saturday morning. Their baby boy came early, 3 weeks before the due date to be exact. Their original due date was Christmas day, but the Wests had a feeling he would come early. The 35-year-old reality star announced the news on her official website.
“Kanye and I welcome our baby boy,”
the announcement read. She also took to Twitter, to say,
“He’s here!”
Kardashian revealed before Thanksgiving that there was a chance she’d have to get a C-section this time around because her baby was breech, meaning he was turned in the womb from the normal birthing direction. Over Thanksgiving Kim, was able to undergo a procedure called ECV (External Cephalic Version) that allowed doctors to turn their son in the correct direction. Because of health issues surrounding her pregnancy with North West, she had anxiety about her risk of having preeclampsia and placenta accreta, but as we see everything worked out. Kim and Kanye haven’t revealed the name of their newest addition, and they revealed not too long ago that they hadn’t completely settled on a name. Do you have any guesses for baby Ye’s name? It’s pretty hard to follow North West!
Max B seeks a little bit of help from President Obama before the end of the leader’s term.
In a petition at WhiteHouse.Gov, the incarcerated rapper pleaded his case.
Rap icon Max B, also known as Charly Wingate, was found guilty of involvement in a robbery that left a man dead. Charly was sentenced to 40 years on September 4th 2009, without any convincing evidence presented by the state. Charly was accused of orchestrating a robbery and then convicted for armed robbery, kidnapping, aggravated assault, and murder.
Many feel the rapper’s conviction was unusually harsh, cruel and unlawful. On August 30th 2012, Max B’s appeal for a retrial was denied with no further notice. We are looking to approach Governor Chris Christie and President Barack Obama for a pardon, or at the very least, a retrial.
Max needs a total of 100,000 online signatures to be considered, but only has 1,236 at the time of this writing. He has until December 25 of 2015.
Earlier in the week, Miami rapper Stitches got knocked out by a member of the Games entourage. Now, he wants a rematch with the rapper himself.
