‘Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta’ Cast Has Signed Documents Agreeing To Stop Fighting

The brawls and showdowns on Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta have made it one of the top rated shows in VH1 history, but it may be on its way down from the top. TMZ reports that advertisers are not happy with the constant fights on the show and have complained to the show’s executives.

Producers reportedly made their way down to the ATL two weeks ago for an emergency meeting with the cast and made them sign documents agreeing that they would refrain from throwing punches. If they do fight, their pockets will be taking the blow. Any cast member that does fight during taping will be cut from that episode without pay and will face termination.

Producer Ray Murray Talks New York & West Coast Hip Hop Inspiring Organized Noize’s Southern Sound

(AllHipHop News) The production team of Organized Noize played a huge role in shaping the sound of southern Hip Hop. The trio of Rico Wade, Ray Murray, and Sleepy Brown worked on projects by OutKast, Goodie Mob, Ludacris, TLC, and others.

Murray joined NPR’s Microphone Check hosts Ali Shaheed Muhammad and Frannie Kelley as guests for a segment of On Second Thought Radio. The Atlanta-based producer was asked about creating a distinctive sound for the South and his hometown in particular.

“In the beginning it was just about fitting in more so than standing out,” explained Murray. “Eventually, we came to the realization from studying New York Hip Hop and West Coast Hip Hop that what really personify [that sound] was its sense of self and the way that it brought across its identity.”

Murray added it was through the study of different individual cities and neighborhoods on both coasts that Organized Noize began to focus on the slang and nuances of Atlanta. That awareness would lead to the production on ATL albums like OuKast’s Aquemini and Ludacris’ Word Of Mouf.

BET caught up with Freeway, and the Philadelphia native spoke about reuniting with the Roc Boys. Free said:

Aw man, it felt like a million bucks. It was a great feeling to be back out there with my brothers and rock out with the fam. It almost brought a tear to my eye. That was the foundation that I built my career on. It was a great feeling. I know the fans appreciate it, because everywhere I go they ask, “Wassup with the Roc? When are y’all getting back together? When y’all doin’ this? When y’all doin’ that?” So for us to get back together to perform was a great thing.

Freeway revealed Jay called him about participating at the B-Sides concert, and he jumped at the chance to get back on stage with the old crew. He also teased a relaunch of the Roc-A-Fella dynasty could be in the works.

This thing of ours can't be tested..

Besides rocking with Hov and Beans again, Free has also been very active with the Freddie Gray inspired protests in Baltimore, Maryland in recent weeks. The “What We Do” rapper visited the city and met with Gray’s family. Freeway spoke about his experience in Baltimore:

It was, you know, surreal. I got there early in the morning before the cameras and security and all that was out there. I went to their hood, I went to their projects. I was with Freddie’s cousin, godbrother. I walked through their neighborhood and listened to some of the issues that they had. Basically, it was just talking to the people. It was good to get their point of view of everything, telling me how the media was blowing everything up making it seem like just a bunch of people going crazy. They were telling me that, if you notice, the main thing that the people were stealing when they were looting was basic necessities. Like, they were stealing clothes and water and food — stuff that they need.

Director Starts Crowdfunding Campaign For New 2Pac Film “7 Dayz” (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) Gobi Rahimi directed the late 2Pac in the “2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted” music video. The filmmaker is now looking to dive deeper into the final moments of Tupac Shakur’s life in the new movie 7 Dayz. Rahimi spoke with Deadline about the project.

“It’s not a movie about Tupac,” said Rahimi. “It’s a movie that will have Tupac in it. It’s about how he changed my life… [Tupac] will play himself. I have archival footage that I shot of him that’s never been seen before that will be written into the film.”

7 Dayz will focus on Rahimi’s experience at the hospital after Pac was shot in Las Vegas. The iconic Hip Hop figure was in a coma, and Rahimi claims he had to deal with “death threats, undercover FBI informants and an uncooperative police department” during that time.

An Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign has been set up to help raise money for the film. The goal is to reach $300,000 in the next 45 days. As of press time, Rahimi has raised $3,800 after one day. Contributors to the campaign will receive various perks depending on the donation amount. 100% of the proceeds go to the making of 7 Dayz.

Rahimi previously worked on Tupac: Resurrection and DMX: Soul of a Man. 7 Dayz is also being produced by Preston L. Holmes (New Jack City, Juice, Hustle & Flow).

2Pac’s music has not been licensed for use in the film, but performers will be recruited to offer “dedication music” for the project. The movie has already been endorsed by members of the Pac affiliate group The Outlawz.
