Daylyt To Meek Mill: How You Gonna Call Drake Fake When You’re Signed To The Fakest Rapper? (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) Meek Mill’s decision to call out Drake for using “ghostwriters” is currently the most talked about issue in the culture. Everyone from MMG boss Rick Ross to Atlanta rapper OG Maco to members of OVO and Dreamchasers have weighed in on the controversy. In comes battle rapper Daylyt.

The Watts native took issue with Meek referring to Drake as fake in one of his tweets. Daylyt responded by taking a shot at the head of Meek’s label, Rick Ross, in a vlog.

“So Meek now you don’t f*ck with Drake cause you may feel like he don’t write his own sh*t? [You’re saying] sh*t like he’s fake, you can’t f*ck with n*gga that ain’t real,” says Day.

He continues, “All I’m gonna say is, how in the flying f*ck are you gonna say you can’t f*ck with Drake cause he’s not real when the n*gga that signed you may be the fakest rapper known to f*cking mankind.”

Daylyt previously backed up Drake during his conflict with Tyga. He warned his fellow California representative to leave Drake alone. Tyga famously called Drake fake as well.

Chris Brown Blocked From Leaving The Philippines

(AllHipHop News) According to multiple reports, R&B singer Chris Brown has been barred from leaving The Philippines over a contract dispute. CB had just performed at a show in Manila on Tuesday evening.

Brown was preparing to fly out of Manila by private jet on Wednesday morning, but the Philippine Department of Justice stopped the U.S. citizen from departing. The order was the result of Brown failing to pay back money owed to a concert promoter for a missed show last New Year’s Eve in Bulacan.

Brown’s promoter John Michael Pio Roda was barred from leaving the Southeast Asian nation as well. Both Brown and Pio Roda reportedly could request a clearance certificate which allows them to leave the Philippines if the country’s Department of Justice consents.

Brown was scheduled to perform in Jakarta, Indonesia on July 25. He posted a message on Twitter stating the appearance will be rescheduled due to “safety concerns.”

Vince Staples Talks Alleged Birdman/Young Thug Conspiracy To Kill Lil Wayne (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) “Free Young Thug.” Those were the first words out of Vince Staples’ mouth when asked about an indictment accusing Thug and Birdman of conspiring to kill Lil Wayne. The West Coast representative further elaborated on the wild news story during the sit down with Complex.

“Indictments are very easy things to come across. They throw indictments around like candy,” said Vince. “They’re fishing bro, but that’s not really our business. Something happened, but we’re not supposed to tell.”

Thugger’s road manager Jimmy “PeeWee Roscoe” Winfrey has been arrested for shooting at Lil Wayne’s tour bus in Atlanta. Court documents claim Winfrey spoke to both Thugger and Birdman on the phone around the time of the incident.

For Vince, that is not enough evidence to prove the Barter 6 rapper and the Cash Money Records boss took part in planning the alleged hit. The “Señorita” performer suggests the phone conversation could have just been Winfrey admitting he had done something and the person on the other end telling him to hang up.

“He could see Young Thug say, ‘I don’t f*ck with Lil Wayne.’ He could be like, ‘Alright, the homie don’t like you, so I’m gonna do something on my own,'” offers Vince. “It’s so many ways that could go. I don’t know. Let’s just keep it music. They need to calm down.”

50 Cent Claims He’s Really Worth Less Than $5 Million

The Get Rich or Die Tryin’ album creator appeared in Manhattan state Supreme Court on Tuesday (July 21) for the proceedings to decide possible additional punitive damages in his sex tape lawsuit. 50 was already ordered to pay Lastonia Leviston $5 million for posting an explicit video of her to the internet.

According to TMZ, 50 claimed that his net worth is only $4.375 million. The G-Unit leader also reportedly told the court he exaggerates his lifestyle because flashing wealth is part of Hip Hop.

Court documents show 50 (born Curtis Jackson) owes approximately $26 million to various creditors. Besides the $5 million rewarded to Leviston, he also has to pay Sleek Audio nearly $17 million for stealing the headphone company’s product design and confidential private client information.

ATL Rapper OG Maco & Producer Boi-1da Clash Over Drake Ghostwriting Allegations

(AllHipHop News) Meek Mill lit the internet on fire overnight when the MMG artist called out Drake for using ghostwriters. Twitter users began taking sides including rapper OG Maco. The Atlanta native co-signed Meek’s allegations by posting screenshots of the credits from Drake’s songs.

Longtime Drake collaborator Boi-1da saw the tweets and fired back at Maco. The producer of Drizzy tracks such as “Over” and “Headlines” was not amused when he saw his name highlighted in a pic added to one of the tweets. Maco and Boi-1da then exchanged insults via the social media site.

This is not the first time Drake has been accused of lifting something from a fellow rapper. In April, Two-9 member Jace claimed Drake stole his beat for “6 God”.  The producer of the track, Syk Sense, later told AllHipHop.com that Drake had the track first. Diddy also reportedly attacked Drake for stealing “0 To 100”.

ATL Live on the Park season 6 at Park Tavern in Piedmont Park with live performances from classic R&B group, Silk and emerging female artist Vina Mills. Taiye Samuel a.k.a “The Wild Afrikan” hosted the event and pumped up the crowd alongside DJ Mars and the house-band, Quinn and the Jukebox. July’s edition of ATL Live on the Park was sponsored by Gentleman Jack and Magic 107.5.

The night kicked-off with an energetic performance from indie R&B artist Vina Mills. The up-and-coming songstress commanded the stage covering classics and performing an original titled, “Love Em Good.” Event Co-Founder Shanti Das also sent her mentee, Ryan Bolton to the stage to warm up the crowd performing Sam Cooke’s “A Change is Gonna Come.” DJ Mars kept the crowd entertained with a mix of old school classics and today’s hottest hits before introducing the main act of the night.

Finally, event headliner Silk took the stage and immediately captured the hearts of true R&B fans performing the classic hit “Meeting in My Bedroom.” Next, the group gave the audience a sneak preview of their forthcoming album (set for release Winter 2015) with new songs titled, “Brown Eyed Girl” and “Love 4 you to Like Me.” Just when the crowd thought the night was over, Silk came through and performed some of their greatest hits including, “Don’t Stop Singing,” “Freak Me” and “Lose Control.” Silk continued to surprise attendees as they doused the audience with water and brought several audience members to the stage including R&B star J. Holiday, for a brief cameo performance. Silk also brought some unsuspecting fans on stage. Lil’ G wasted no time giving lap dances and picking up the fans. Between the phenemonal vocal ability, energy, stage presence, and lap dances Silk brought down the house and took ATL Live on the Park back to the ’90s.

Season 6 of ATL Live on the Park returns to Park Tavern next month for their fourth annual *All White Party* on August 11th, 2015. The official line-up will be announced later this month. Taylor Swift Responds To Nicki Minaj Complaining About “Other Girls” Getting VMA Nominations

(AllHipHop News) Nicki Minaj had something to say about her video for “Anaconda” being snubbed for the “Video Of The Year” Video Music Award. She posted a series of tweets directed at MTV which included the Young Money rapper writing, “when the ‘other’ girls drop a video that breaks records and impacts culture they get the nomination.”

Pop superstar Taylor Swift must have felt the message was referring to her, because the “Bad Blood” singer responded to Nicki on Twitter. Swift was among the five artists (two women) nominated for VOTY. Minaj then sent messages back to Swift.

(AllHipHop News) The 2015 MTV Video Music Awards nominations were announced today, and Nicki Minaj picked up  couple of nods for her hit “Anaconda.” The Young Money rapper was nominated for “Best Female Video” and “Best Hip Hop Video,” but she was still wondering why she did not get recognized for other awards.

Nicki took to Twitter to question why her 480 million viewed video was not included with Ed Sheeran, Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Mark Ronson, and Kendrick Lamar in the VOTY category. She also mentioned “Anaconda” being snubbed for “Best Choreography” and the “Feeling Myself” video being completely shut out.

In addition, the Queens representative suggested when other “girls” break records with their videos they get nominations. Nicki did grab another nom in the “Best Collaboration” field for her contribution to “Bang Bang” with Ariana Grande and Jesse J.

Geto Boys’ Willie D Calls Donald Trump a Trick and An Ungrateful Bastard!

Willie D of the pioneering rap group the Geto Boys has weighed in on Donald Trump’s incendiary remarks about Mexicans and Senator John McCain with an open letter to Trump.

The outspoken rapper who was among the first celebrities months ago to publicly state that he believed Bill Cosby was a serial rapist, is also a top advice columnist for the Houston Press. He expressed intense displeasure over Trump’s choice of words during his presidential announcement when he called Mexican immigrants criminals, and rapists. He further chided Trump, suggesting he was, “An ungrateful bastard” for saying that the 2008 Republican candidate for President, and military vet, Senator John McCain was not a war hero, despite McCain being injured in battle, becoming a prisoner of war while serving in Vietnam, and receiving multiple medals for his courage. Willie D also called Trump a trick who only got to sleep with his children’s mothers because he paid them.

Read the letter in its entirety below…

An Open Letter to Donald Trump
By Willie D – July 21, 2015
First off, congratulations on your commanding lead as the Republican frontrunner in the national polls for the race for President of the United States. I heard you even got a majority 24% share of the vote in a recent poll. Impressive – very impressive. I’d also like to recognize your business acumen. It’s made you a very wealthy man. We are a nation divided, but if there’s one thing all Americans can agree on is our appetite for a good ole rags to riches – okay, riches to riches success story. At any rate you’ve done well for yourself Donny Boy.
You know, when you made those comments about Mexican immigrants being criminals and rapists, my first thought was, “Dude is a clown.” I understand you need something to separate yourself from the pack, and you exercise your little diatribes occasionally to keep your brand out there, but come on man. You’re a billionaire businessman with access to hidden information. There’s got to be at least a molecule of brain matter beneath that fluffy disco rug on top of your head to warn you that even if you are stupid enough to feel that way, that’s not something you should say if you’re trying to convince people that you want their vote for President of the United States.
But I get it. Thrashing Mexicans during an election cycle historically has helped to bring in tons of conservative votes. It’s one of the oldest tricks in the book. Speaking of tricking, you’re also one of the oldest tricks, as all of your kids were conceived by women you paid to sleep with you, including your current wife. Maybe that’s why you hate John McCain so much. He has what you want – respect and real love from a devoted woman who has been with him throughout the ups and downs for 35 plus years.

In your most recent ignoramus remarks, you said John McCain wasn’t a war hero. You reasoned that had he not been captured he would have been a hero, and you likened soldiers who didn’t get captured to winners. So is it the new position of the GOP that POW’s are losers? Our soldiers who return home maimed and in body bags; are they also losers? I’m not a fan of John McCain’s politics, but I’ve always been honest with myself enough to give credit where credit is due, despite the fact that I once authored an anti-war song. That man battled and was beaten, and tortured for almost 6 years for you to have the liberty to say whatever you want. However, to use that freedom to disparage any veteran’s service is a disgrace. If you can’t appreciate the sacrifices our military men and women make, you are not fit to be their Commander-In-Chief.
Your sound bites may be appealing to the few holdout nutcase conservatives who wish like hell they could turn back the clock and enjoy the inequitable privileges of their grandpas, but they will alienate the larger portion who represent the cultural change that’s going on in America. Each time you open your mouth I keep thinking: This guy has to be working for the Democrats because he’s clearly hurting the Republican Party’s chance of reclaiming the White House. Or maybe you’re pitching a new reality show called, “The Fired Politrick.” Yeah I heard NBC pulled the plug on your gig – bummer.

In any event, I think you owe every hard working Mexican immigrant in America an apology, including their kids because the kids have to deal with the shame and indignity of being profiled also. Additionally, you owe Captain John McCain an apology. You owe the families of POW’s an apology; and you owe every single veteran that’s ever been trapped behind enemy lines an apology – you ungrateful bastard!

Enjoy your stay at the top because it won’t be long. But slipping in the polls should be your least concern. I hear El Chapo is still out there and he wants to talk to you about that big mouth of yours.

EXCLUSIVE! Rapsody: “Femcee” is a Derogatory Term

“It wasn’t until I got into the business that I understood how derogatory and separating the term is; and it takes you and puts you in this box…I came to not like the term at all. I just want to see myself as an MC. I’m just as good, if not better than some of you guys.”  -Rapsody

As she continues to share the depth of her voice as an MC, Rapsody, proves that she is truly inspired by her journey in rhyme. The North Carolina native’s student mentality reinforces her continued growth as a lyricist, and as an overall artist. A tangible spirit is infused into each sixteen that she spits. With bars enriched by empirical experiences, the Beauty and the Beast wordsmith uses her innate gift to share her perspective.

Within this exclusive interview, the Jamla Records representative explains why she believes the term “femcee possesses a pejorative meaning.  A momentary pause introduces her comment, “When it comes to emceeing– it’s all in your mind and in your brain; you use these words and music — and it’s an even playing field when you’re talking about that.” As the discussion delves deeper, she offers her insight on why she no longer views the term as empowering one.

Do your thoughts on the term “femcee” support or contradict those of Rapsody’s?
