Bobby Shmurda's Lawyer Speaks On Epic Records Not Supporting The Incarcerated Rapper

(AllHipHop News) After Bobby Shmurda was arrested in December, Epic Records executive Sha Money XL released a statement in support of the Brooklyn rapper. However, Bobby’s label home did not put up any money to bail the “Hot N***a” performer out of jail, and Shmurda later revealed no one from Epic has even visited him since being incarcerated.

“They’re not bailing me out. They’re not standing by me that much. Every time I call them, there’s excuses about [parent company] Sony, this and that,” Bobby told Billboard. “I haven’t gotten a visit from one of them yet.”

Shmurda’s entertainment lawyer Matthew Middleton spoke with the New York Times. Middleton expressed Epic is not required to offer bail money for its artists, but Bobby expected more financial and emotional support than he has received from the label.

“These companies for years have capitalized and made millions and millions of dollars from kids in the inner city portraying their plight to the rest of the world,” said Middleton. “To take advantage of that and exploit it from a business standpoint and then turn your back is disingenuous, to say the least.”

If Bobby Shmurda beats his case, he plans to either break from Epic immediately or leave the label after completing his contractual music requirements. The 20-year-old head of the GS9 imprint is currently facing up to 25 years in prison for criminal possession of a weapon, conspiracy, reckless endangerment, and other charges.

The seriousness of the allegations may be the reason Epic has decided not to back Shmurda, but Middleton points out so far there have only been accusations of crimes being committed. He also notes the label has already made a profit off its deal with Bobby.

“[Epic] made their money back at least two or three times over,” Middleton added. “I understand from a corporate standpoint that companies cannot put themselves in a position where it appears they’re supporting and condoning criminal activity. But he hasn’t been found guilty of anything yet.”

Klarberg’s list of celebrity clients has included Justin Timberlake, Russell Simmons, Charlie Sheen, Mark Messier, and Anna Kournikova. He is also a part owner of the New York Yankees and the Memphis Grizzlies.

Dash sued Klarberg for $3.5 million in 2007. Dame accused his former accountant of mishandling his New York and New Jersey income tax returns for 2000, 2001, and 2002. He also alleged Klarberg caused tax issues in 2005 by not informing him of the amount of money he made from the sale of one of his companies.

Lil Wayne Posts First Pic Of Son With Lauren London

I think this is a first. Lauren London and Lil Wayne have a kid together. To my knowledge this is a first look of them together – if this is indeed the baby that they share.

That’s a scary looking picture right there. Yeah, its a slow day.

Breeding Ground: Wu 05 – Pimp C "Hogg In The Game"

Although his production talents may not feature huge rap stars yet, DMV producer Wu 05 has been establishing himself as a force to reckon with on the internet. Wu’s style of music falls in between the hard hitting 808’s of southern music with the synths and odd sound effects of EDM. It’s an odd mixture, yet when heard, wows listeners with a unique vibe. One of the recent drops from Wu 05 was a remix of Pimp C’s “Hogg In the Game”. The edit includes a smooth upbeat 70’s backdrop to hold up with heavy bass and hard lyrics. Check it out below.

Blac Chyna In The Studio With French Montana?

I can’t make heads or tails of this stuff anymore. Tyga dated Blac Chyna. Wiz married Amber. French dated Amber. Blac Chyna is best friends with Amber. Blac Chyna is in the studio with French. Whew!

Blac Chyna is known for being a sexy vixen, but she may be taking her talents to the bigger stage, minus the pole.

Can French turn this stripper into a dope rapper?

Were you looking for some old school 90’s New York punch-you-in-the-face Hip Hop. Well, Queens rapper, Remy Banks, just dropped a title just for you titled “rem.” The song, produced by Odd Future producer Left Brain, features raw verses from Remy himself and fellow Queens MC, Nasty Nigel. OG Maco is on a roll with his music, but there those times that the ATL rapper can take time off to make a remix.
