Timothy Rhyme – "Dirty Thirty"

True to form, Timothy Rhyme shows off his word play on his new single “Dirty Thirty.” Utilizing experiences as a new resident of Los Angeles, while reflecting on grinding it out in his hometown Sacramento, CA, Timothy Rhyme pens thirty bars for whom it may concern. Timothy’s raw lyricism may hurt some feelings, but it also provides a window into the honestly he’s able to capture with his music. Teaming up with Boston-based producer Phil The Pain, the chemistry is evident. Having just worked on a new track with Termanology, Phil The Pain’s beats tend to only be dealt with by lyrical heavyweights.

Being new to the city, Timothy Rhyme decided to shoot the video Downtown Los Angeles in the heart of the arts district. The SoCal Impalas N Caprices Car Club rolled out 30 deep to welcome Timothy Rhyme to the area and show off for the camera. Shot and directed by Tim Gadient.

John Legend Disagrees With Kanye West's Comments About Beck

When Kanye West mocked his 2009 debacle with Taylor Swift last Sunday at the Grammys during Beck’s acceptance speech many laughed and enjoyed seeing Ye’ making a joke out of it, including his friend John Legend. The “All Of Me” singer spoke to US Weekly after the ceremony and said that he thought Kanye’s moment on stage was quite comical.

“I looked at it as just a funny thing that people were going to talk about. It didn’t hurt anybody. Anybody who’s upset just needs to relax. It was funny.”

After making these comments, the crooner felt the need to take to his Instagram to clarify that he only thought Kanye jokingly running up on the stage was funny, not his comments about Beck after the fact where he said he thought he should give his award to Beyonce among other things.

Read his statement below.

I want to clarify my thoughts on Kanye’s actions at the Grammys on Sunday. First of all, Kanye is my friend. He believed in me years ago when very few did, and I wouldn’t be here without his support. That doesn’t mean we’ll agree on everything, but it does mean that I am grateful to him. And I also believe he is one of the most gifted people I’ve had the privilege of working with. In my comments to US Weekly, I said that when Kanye walked up on stage, mimicking his interruption of Taylor Swift’s VMA acceptance speech, then turned around as if he was just playing, most of the room including me saw this as funny, as a way of taking the p### out of himself for his infamous behavior several years ago.

When I said that was funny and people should lighten up about it, that’s what I meant. I wasn’t referring to Kanye’s comments after the show which I have now seen and heard. I disagree with those comments. Beck is indeed a true artist’s artist. He’s a multi-instrumentalist, a creative and unique singer-songwriter whose music I have bought and enjoyed over the years. While his win may have been a surprise to many, it’s not because he’s not a great artist deserving of recognition. All of the other nominated artists, including Beyonce, are incredible in their own right, and arguments could be made for any of them deserving to win. This is not an objective process. It’s completely subjective, in fact. We can all debate who we thought should have won. But even if you didn’t vote for him, plenty of our colleagues in the music business did. These voters are all creators who love music and have dedicated their lives to it, and the plurality of them chose Beck as the Album of the Year. I respect their decision and congratulate Beck on this outstanding accomplishment.

A-Bomb Ft. Kool Keith & Mr SOS "Gentleman's Club"

tlanta’s hometown favorite A-Bomb is back with a brand new video! “Gentleman’s Club” takes Bomb’s conversational rhyme style to the next level by joining forces with hip hop’s classic eccentric Kool Keith and Cunninlynguist-bread rapper Mr. SOS. The eerily soothing and melodic main loop sits so appropriately on the rich and full bass it makes this track the perfect flex for these artists. Produced and directed by Wes Green, the video’s motif lands somewhere between sexy and creepy and is perfect as A-Bomb’s next solo video project.

Kanye West Plans To Work With Taylor Swift And Clarifies Beck Comments

Beck winning Album of the Year over Beyonce last Sunday night (Feb. 8) at the 57th Annual Grammys did not sit well with Kanye West. After almost crashing his acceptance speech, Ye’ went on a mini rant after the award show about how the Grammys snubbing deserving artists is disrespectful to inspiration and that he felt Beck should hand over his gramophone to Beyonce.

Yeezus recently sat down with the Ryan Seacrest today (Feb. 11) and reflected on his comments and actually gave Beck some credit. Many were unaware, but Beck has been in the game for over 20 years.

“Beck is one of the nicest guys and one of the most respected musicians in the game. So, there’s nothing that I will want to do as a fellow musician to disrespect him in any way…And When I said that thing about respect artistry, I think it came off the wrong way, and that was a mis-wording on my part because obviously Beck is one the most respected artists and respects artistry. But I felt — and this is my opinion and he’s his own man and he’s not wrong and we’ll still go play basketball and stuff [unless] he doesn’t want to do it — but I felt that even though the Grammys some times gives awards to people who you wouldn’t think should win in the category, as a respect to artists, we mention the other artist’s name in our speech. And that was the point I was making about it. There’s like many of times I gave other people my award, literally made them come up onstage. Maroon 5, when they won best new artist, [Adam Levine] mentioned me because it was the College Dropout and [it had] 10 nominations and all that.”

Taylor Swift is way too familiar with Kanye’s antics but these two are starting off with a clean slate. After the ceremony, a photo began floating around of him and the “Shake It Off” singer showing that the two had turned over a new leaf. Kanye revealed that they will also be hitting the studio together soon.

“Yeah, she wants to get in the studio and we’re definitely going to go in. Any artist with an amazing point of view, perspective, fan base, I’m down to get in the studio and work. I don’t discriminate, I don’t have an elitism of music because of like how many Grammys or you know, the amount of ratings you get on an album. I that think everyone loves music whether they love hip-hop, alternative, country, and if I could be involved in giving people any type of energy, advice in the studio, whether you’re Beyonce, whether you’re Taylor Swift, whether you’re Jay Z, whether you’re Beck, whoever, and they can be reciprocal with that, I’d like to be involved with that.”

Snoop Dogg – "Act Right" [P### Cartel Son] (Snippet)
