Did J. Cole Pop The Question?

People may or may not know, J. Cole has had the same girlfriend for a long, long time. Good for him. And good for her. The word on the street is that she is out here looking at WEDDING DRESSES. Don’t get it messed up…not browsing for rings…we are talking about wedding dresses. I have never been with a woman long enough, but as far as I know, the only time a woman goes to the Wedding Dress Store is when she is about to get married. There have been longstanding rumors about these two. I hope they are true. Its about time some y0ung rap dude showed these guys how to do it!

EXCLUSIVE: "Versace" Producer Zaytoven Says Rappers Using Migos' Flow Is Biting

(AllHipHop News) Zaytoven was the man behind the boards for Atlanta rap group Migos’ break out hit “Versace.” The 2013 single launched countless remixes and ignited the use of the song’s flow by rappers from Drake to Soulja Boy to King Los to J. Cole.

In an exclusive interview with AllHipHop.com, Zaytoven was asked for his thoughts on other rap acts embracing the style of rhyming recently popularized by the ATL trio.

“I would really say it’s biting. Guys like Migos – what made those guys popular was their flow. That’s what made them stand out,” said Zay. “I know last year after the song came out, every rapper that’s in the game was using that same flow. So I almost see it as biting, because people will wear it out.”

The conversation also included the frequent Migos collaborator speaking on the crew’s latest joint effort. Quavo, Takeoff, and Offset teamed with R&B superstar Usher for the Zaytoven produced track “Still Got It.” Zay worked with Ush before on the 2009 Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart topper “Papers.”

“When his people reached back out to me this time they said, ‘We need a track for Usher. We’re working on his album and we want you to give us the same kind of music you’re giving to Migos,'” revealed Zaytoven. “So when I sent them the beat they hit me back like, ‘We got one. Now what we need you to do is get Migos to get on the song.’ I was thinking that anyway. To me, that was the perfect combination.”

Last week, Zaytoven released the new joint project Beast Mode with fellow Atlanta native Future. Zay sees he and the “Move That Dope” performer as an official producer/rapper group. They expect to release videos and do tour dates to support the 9-track project.

I remember he heard one of my verses, and he was just appreciating the verse. I was thinking, ‘This is crazy.'”

The 21-year-old rhymer said Jay initially asked him what was his story. Fighting through nerves, Casey told the Brooklyn mogul how he got involved with music at the age of 12 and his history of playing basketball.

Lupe Fiasco Says Cultural Appropriation Of Hip Hop Is A Myth (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) The emergence of Macklemore and Iggy Azalea as the award-winning representatives of Hip Hop for mainstream America has caused a conversation about the perceived appropriation of the culture by White performers. Several rap artists have come down on different sides of the discussion, but one emcee believes the idea of Hip Hop being appropriated is a made up concept.

During an interview with Sway In The Morning, Lupe Fiasco was asked about cultural appropriation. The Tetsuo & Youth album creator shared his thoughts about the subject.

Lupe said:

I don’t believe it. I believe it’s a myth. I think we get a little too caught up in validation and qualification. Even from ourselves. Who are we to validate and qualify a culture?… Nobody that was born in the 90’s created it. Who are we to say who does this and who doesn’t?

We weren’t at the swap meet trying to find turntables, connect them together, and rock house parties up in The Bronx. Nobody did none of that. And the dudes who do do that, we don’t even bring their names up anymore. Who are we to validate ourselves? And then tell other people what they can and can’t do.

So I don’t believe it. We can get real. Hip Hop culture is Hip Hop culture. It’s not Black culture. It stems from Black culture and other things.

After speaking on Hip Hop emerging from the difficulties of living in inner-city communities, the Chicago native then asked the question, “What would you rather have – a nice life with no Hip Hop or some f**ked up s**t with n***as rapping on the corner?

Hip-Hop Rumors: Bobby Shmurda Won't Accept Bail Money

Shmurda is sticking to his guns.

Reportedly the rapper’s uncles want to bail him out, but he refuses the offer because he feels they’re bailing him out with money that was stolen from him.

Bossip reports:

“Brothers Debo and Calvin Wilson, the co-owners of Hard Tymes Records, say Shmurda, their nephew, used Instagram to accuse them of taking $20,000 from him. The Wilson brothers said they proved they didn’t take the money, but the “Hot Ni**a” rapper still hasn’t said a word to them since.

“We just want to make sure he’s alright; that he’s safe,” Calvin Wilson said. “We’re his family, and we’d never turn our backs against him.”

The men said they bailed Shmurda out of jail the last time he got locked up, and wanted to bury the hatchet by posting his bail this time too.

But Shmurda won’t have it. Bossip witnessed the Brooklyn native refuse Calvin Wilson’s visit last week at Riker’s Island, and told him through a jail guard that coming back would be a waste of time.
The record label CEOs say they’ve only had Shmurda’s best interests in mind. Calvin Wilson said they helped negotiate Shmurda’s $2.5 million record contract and spent $80,000 to get “Hot Ni**a” on the radio.

“We always had his back,” Calvin Wilson said. “We showed him love. We tried to show him the ins and outs of the game.”

They said they were angry over the “disrespectful” way Shmurda shaded them on social media.
“If he felt that the money was taken, he could’ve come to us,” Calvin Wilson told Bossip. “To tell the world, you’re tarnishing the record label’s name. People don’t want nothing to do with you when they see stuff like hat, so it’s not fair.””

Bobby’s mother is currently trying to get bail money together, but if he truly feels like the money is his anyway, why not just take it? #butthatsnoneofmybusiness

Cosby’s TV Son Malcolm Jamal Warner Comments On Sexual Allegations

Actor Malcolm Jamal Warner has finally commented on the drama that his TV dad has been going since 35 women accused Bill Cosby of sexual assault.

Warner, who was on “The Cosby Show” since its inception in the 80’s, could not speak directly to the allegations, but said he considered Cosby a “friend and mentor.”

“He’s one of my mentors, and he’s been very influential and played a big role in my life as a friend and mentor,” Warner told Billboard. “Just as it’s painful to hear any woman talk about sexual assault, whether true or not, it’s just as painful to watch my friend and mentor go through this.

He continued, like Phylicia Rashad before him, to stress the importance of the vast entertainment legacy of his friend.

“I can’t really speak on any of the allegations because obviously, I was not there. The Bill Cosby I know has been great to me and great for a lot of people. What he’s done for comedy and television has been legendary and history-making” Warner said. “What he’s done for the black community and education has been invaluable. That’s the Bill Cosby I know. I can’t speak on the other stuff.”

Rreviously, Rashad had said that she felt there were other forces that were bent on destroying the legacy of “The Cosby Show,” which showed an exceptional view of Black family life.

Another Cosby kid – Keshia Knight Pulliam – said, “Unfortunately, in the court of public opinion, everyone has formed their opinion, but we’re still in America and you’re innocent until proven guilty of any crimes,” she said on the Today show.

Later on the a separate track “Sh*t,” Weezy spit, “Did my time at Cash Money. Time served and released, but this agent ain’t free.”

According to TMZ, Cash Money boss Bryan “Birdman” Williams is not pleased that his “son” chose to air out his frustrations on a record. The sites reports:

Our sources say Birdman is angry on 2 fronts … that Wayne is trying to bail on a binding contract and even more personal, he’s putting their relationship on blast.

Apparently, Birdman is still unwilling to release Wayne from his contract at Cash Money without a legal fight, and the rapper’s long-awaited Tha Carter V album will only be available on the label’s terms.
