According to “The Art of Battle” written by the original B-Boy Alien Ness “Every aspect of the dance was created for competition and every move is judged according to its effectiveness as a weapon.” Coupled with individual style, athletic ability and bravado, each B-Boy demonstrated their best skills, rhythm and creative style to impress the panel of judges, which included RoxRite (Red Bull BC One All-Star and 2011 Red Bull BC One World Champion), Neguin (Red Bull BC One All-Star and 2010 Red Bull BC One World Champion) and Marlon (Havikoro Crew, Texas).

August 30th: Latin America Final in Belém, Brazil
September 13th: Eastern Europe Final in Zagreb, Croatia
September 26th: Middle East Africa Final in Algiers, Algeria
October 11th: Western Europe Final in Helsinki, Finland
October 25th: Asia Pacific Final in Taipei, Taiwan

Although, crowd favorite Gravity, windmilled his way through each round, the judges were more impressed with Vicious Victor in the end. “The battles were really intense tonight” says Roxrite (Judge): What usually happens in the first round is that everyone is going off for the first time so everything is fresh and the level of difficulty is really high. But down the line you see who has more variety with movements, different types of patterns and technical moves. In the end, those are the guys that started to shine more. Vicious Victor and Gravity’s final battle was really intense, but Vicious Victor was dropping a bit more of everything to win.”

Since its inception in 2004, Red Bull BC One has become the premier competition in the world of B-Boying, consistently attracting the best individual breakers in the world. Originally designed as an “invitation-only” event, the series has now opened to give any B-Boy the chance to compete through a multi-layered global qualification phase. Red Bull BC One celebrates breaking culture by using its original one-on-one, knockout battle format, as opposed to the crew-battle style more prevalent today.

“It feels really good to win.” Says Victor, “Last year I lost in the first round and felt horrible and I didn’t want that to happen this year. I trained so hard and I’m so happy because all of that training was worth it. I feel really good about the competition tonight, there were some crazy battles and I feel great about representing North America in Paris! Shout out to my family, especially my dad because he believed in me and told me I was going to win. I’m proud and I hope he’s proud too.”

Dame Dash Apologizes For Disrespecting Women In "Big Pimpin" Video

(AllHipHop News) One of the most famous images of Hip Hop mogul Dame Dash during his run with Roc-A-Fella Records was from Jay Z’s “Big Pimpin'” video. On the clip, Dash could be seen pouring bottles of champagne on various models.

Fourteen years later Dash is now remorseful for those actions. Speaking with Hip Hop Motivation, the 43-year-old music industry veteran offers his apologies to the women he showered with champagne back in 2000.

“There’s things that I see that I did on videos when I was younger that I be like, ‘Damn, I was bugging.’ Champagne Dame, that dude, he was bugging. I don’t even know that guy. If my son even did that I would be appalled,” said Dash. “I’m sorry to all the girls that I poured champagne… I’m not gonna say… because it was Champagne Dame, but I’m not gonna say that excuses it, but I do apologize. I really do. I wouldn’t do that now.”

Dash also discusses sections of the Roc-A-Fella business model that he believes ended up being more destruction than construction.

“The message that we put into the world when we were younger – besides the independence -wasn’t really the most positive, because it was about getting money by any means necessary. But my views have changed since then,” explains Dash. “It’s not the most positive thing to make a man feel bad because he can’t make as much money as you. And that was our business model – embarrassing dudes and making them feel bad cause we had more money than them.”

According Dame, it was that business model that helped open the door for others to be cutthroat and dishonorable in order to make it to the top in the industry. He also adds that he understands why certain people did not like him at the time, because he was “rubbing it in their face.”

Police Say Suge Knight Was Target Of Shooting; Source Says Streets Will Take Care Of Shooter

(AllHipHop News) There had been conflicting reports on whether Suge Knight was the intended target of the shooting that took place at a Chris Brown hosted Pre-VMA party over the weekend, but police have now confirmed that Knight was in fact the person the gunman was aiming at.

Radar Online is reporting a representative of the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department has confirmed it appears Knight was the target and not Chris Brown.

Rumors began circulating that Brown may have been the person intended to be hit that night. Even Comedian Katt Williams, who says he was at the scene, suggested the gunshots were actually aimed at someone else and Knight was saving another person’s life.

Suge has reportedly refused to cooperate with authorities investigating the shooting. A source with Radar is also telling the site that the former Death Row Records head is leaving it to people not associated with the police to handle the situation.

“Suge is confident that the gunman will be dealt with on the street, as these matters usually are,” said the source. “Given that it’s gang related, there are serious expectations of a retaliation hit. The longer cops go without making an arrest, the more likely it is that the gunman won’t be caught.”

Knight was shot six times at West Hollywood’s 10AK Club. He is currently in intensive care at Cedars Sinai Hospital, and his room is said to be under police protection.

ISIS has also been credited for the beheading of American journalist James Foley who was decapitated on video.

President Barack Obama is currently considering extending his military campaign against ISIS to include targets in Syria. The U.S. began airstrikes against the organization in Iraq earlier this month.

Wiz Khalifa Earns First #1 Album With "Blacc Hollywood"

(AllHipHop News) It appears the fifth time was the charm for Wiz Khalifa. The Atlantic Records rap star’s latest album, Blacc Hollywood, will open in the number one spot on the Billboard 200 album chart. This gives Wiz his first chart topper.

Blacc Hollywood sold around 90,000 units in its opening week. While those numbers were lower than the first week totals for his previous major label LPs Rolling Papers (197,000) and O.N.I.F.C. (148,000), they were enough to land Wiz at number one above the Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack.

Wiz’s Blacc Hollywood joins Schoolboy Q’s Oxymoron and Rick Ross’s Mastermind as the only rap albums to reach number one on the Billboard 200 in 2014.

Last year at this time there were five different rap artists that held the number one album in the country at some point – A$AP Rocky (Long. Live. A$AP), Kanye West (Yeezus), Wale (The Gifted), J. Cole (Born Sinner), and Jay Z (Magna Carta Holy Grail).

Hip-Hop Rumors: Guess What 90’s Rapper Is Dissin’ Joe Budden?

I didn’t know either Joey, but now I do. The homey MC Brainz didn’t like something that Joe Budden said in a song. I honestly feel super lame, because I had no idea. Now that I do…lets get into it.

Uh…back in the day…Joe said:

These MC’s is lame, I try to be a MC with brains
These n##### is MC Brains

This song, “Family Reunion,” is really old. I don’t know what the hell, b. Why MC Brains just now decided to respond. But, here it it.

This is weird to me. Uhm…I can’t really condone this…Joe “dissed” Brains in 07-08 and now…in 2014, he replies.
Here is MC Brains hit song from back in the day. He wasn’t really known as a battle dude. More pop-like/New Jack Swing.

Profiles In Battle Rap: Dizaster

(AllHipHop Features) It was revealed this week that battle rap veteran Dizaster is set to meet Philadelphia emcee Cassidy in a face-off later this year.

With the news of the latest professional recording artist versus professional battle rapper set, it was appropriate to have the battler taking part in that potential monumental event as the third feature in AllHipHop.com’s “Profiles In Battle Rap.”

Diz has made quite a name for himself in the culture. Besides his million plus viewed matches against DNA, Arsonal, and Loonie, the West Coast native has also made headlines for being one of the initial contestants in the Total Slaughter tournament, his Twitter beef with Lupe Fiasco, and the KOTD-banning fight with Math Hoffa. But it is the infamous 2012 “notepad” battle against acclaimed lyricist Canibus that garnered him widespread exposure.

As Dizaster prepares for what could be the biggest battle of his career, Hip Hop fans can find out which past match-ups are some of his favorites. Diz also shares his battle rap Mount Rushmore, his personal favorite emcee of all time, and what other top Hip Hop star he wants to see face-to-face in the ring.
