Peep Who May Be Interested In Tahiry

The Jordan party was off the chain I heard! I also heard that a little guy named Prince had big interest in Tahiry. There’s not much more to that other than I can’t wait to see what Joe Budden says. Just to be clear, I have no idea what may or may not have happened. I don’t think anything, to be real. The mere thought that Prince likes – or is aware of – a cool regular-type chick like Tahiry is really interesting to me. Anyway. Last night, Prince performed to a star studded crowd that included Michael Jordan, Chris Rock, Questlove, Rosario Dawson, Nas and Queen Latifah.

Somebody’s Trying To Slander Wale With Tranny Lies!

I cannot lie. It is WAY to early for me to be all in the rumors like this, but in the Ill Community there is a whole post on Wale’s issue with a transsexual / transvestite woman. First of all, we can officially – with expeditiousness – let you know that Wale is not having relations with trannies and there’s nothing in the information of this to suggest he is. He may have some other issues with a young lady named Marilyn MonDROe, however. But, a woman looking to “EXPOSE ME AND WALE HAVING SEX???” is a bit silly. I think its mostly some chick that wants the rapper to recognize her. But, there seems to be a pay for play allegation here.

For everything, go to The IC.

I don’t know if this is going to be some sort of re-occurring stuff, but over there on the other side, it looks like Rich Gang has a dude that officially looks like marry Chingy’s worst nightmare. Click here to read that whole situation.

Transgender Chick Sidney Starr Got A Rapper!

Either this is the biggest hoax since Milli Vanilli or hip-hop is about to enter its final frontier—an up and coming rapper who’s signed to a quasi-major label (in this case, Rich Gang) dating, screwing and marrying a transgender man woman openly and not giving a f**k what we think!

Enter Cash money affiliate—Birdman cosigned—Rich Gang signed rapper “ChaseGod.” According to Mediatakeout and his Instagram, ChaseGod is dating and about to marry transgender dancer/rapper/singer/rapper career killer (just ask Chingy!) Sidney Starr. Both ChaseGod and Sidney Starr boast & post about their mutual love for one another on Instagram.

If this relationship is really on the up-n-up, we should officially consign ourselves to the fact that hip-hop/rap is (openly) gay! Indeed, for me, this is the culmination of eight years of blogging in support of gays in hip-hop—eight years of traveling that lonely road of free-thought with few cosigners. I’m tickled pink! (How gay of me!)

I wrote a blog about Miss Starr three years ago entitled, “Tranny Sidney Starr Looks Better Than Your Girlfriend!”  (see The Khalil Amani Reader: http://khalilamani.ning.com/profiles/blogs/tranny-sidney-star-looks… ) Oh, it’s true! I’ve seen some of the thots y’all be claiming as “bae” on Social Media. (Your chick looks like she went to a chain fight and forgot to bring her chain! Got the nerve to be hating on Sidney! F.O.H.!) Indeed, Sidney Starr looks every bit female/woman. I’m not sure if she still has her hanglow penis—walking around here swinging long & strong, but rapper ChaseGod is about this (trans) life—apparently.

Some have said there has been a lot of gayness and suspect activity in the Cash Money/Rich Gang family, dating back to the infamous Baby/Lil Wayne lip-smacking kiss—to Baby’s newest protégé Young thug, the girl-dress-wearing-I-call-my-homies-“bae”-and-would-get-t###-if-I-went-to-jail-rapper—and now, allegedly, apparently this guy, rapper ChaseGod.

Like Young Thug, judging by ChaseGod’s exterior, he’s on some other ish with his fashion sensibilities. This ni99a wears women’s gaudy earrings, a woman’s mink stole and a pearl necklace! (Maybe there is something to Lord Jamar’s effeminization & emasculation of the black man? I may have to revisit this issue.) The Freudian in me sees the double entendre in his choice of bling-bling. I remember when a “pearl necklace” meant shooting a load all over a chick’s face & neck! What is ChaseGod subliminally saying to the world by wearing a pearl necklace? And is the “P” on his chest for “pu$$y” or “punk?” Maybe I’m just reaching…

All I know is this—watching these younguns turn hip-hop/rap on its (gay) head gives me a devious kind of pleasure! And to think; I started all of this gay s###! LOL!

Young Thug: Ignant Azz Down Somewhere!

The ignorance in hiphop/rap is astounding! Did you read what rapper Young Thug said about not listening to Jay Z? This skinny b####-de-fied rapper said (and I quote):

“If you’re 30, 40 years old, you’re not getting listened to by minors… Like, Jay Z has some of the sickest lyrics ever, but I would never buy his CD, just because of my age. By the time I turn that old, I ain’t gonna be doing what he’s doing.” I don’t want to be 50 years old and rapping, man. I’m pretty sure nobody wants to do that. I’m pretty sure Jay Z don’t wanna rap right now.”

Where do I start?

Can you imagine a young Wynton Marsalis not wanting to listen to trumpeters Louis “Satchmo” Armstrong, Dizzy Gillespie & Miles Davis—or saxophonist Gerald Albright not wanting to listen to Charlie “Birdman” Parker & John Coltrane—or R&B singers D’Angelo, Chris Brown, Usher, Neyo, Beyonce, & K Michelle not wanting to listen to Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Luther Vandross, Al Green & Marvin Gaye—just ‘cause they’re from another era, another generation, old?

Thee audacity!

I vividly remember as a child listening, but not listening to some of my dad’s records—Jimmy Smith’s “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf,” Dave Brubeck’s “Time Out”—and a shed-load of other records that grown folk were listening to during the 60’s/70’s that we kids considered “Old Folk Music.” Today I own vinyl copies of the aforementioned and realize that pop had exquisite taste in music. When I grew up and had kids, I made sure they listened to all the classic R&B, Jazz, Rock and even “Golden Age Rap” songs and now I can proudly say that one of my children grew up to be a professional musician.

Young Thug is what’s wrong with rap music! How dare you think, feel or believe that young people won’t and don’t buy Jay Z’s music because he’s older! Newsflash! I’ll be 55 years old in a few months and I know who your monstrunky a$$ is Young Thug! I love “Danny Glover” and “Stoner” goes hard! I’d buy your album if you have at least four (4) great songs on it. Age has no bearing on what I purchase! I love great music from young and old/er alike!

Jay Z is still making hit records! His albums are classics and timeless! You’ve implied that Jay Z has to make records. Yes you did! What do you mean, “I’m pretty sure Jay Z don’t wanna rap right now?” By extrapolation, in your puny mind, you think Jay Z needs the money or just wants to stay relevant. SMH. Yo! Young Thug! Jay & Bey are just about billionaires! Can you dig that? Billionaires!!!!! Jay Z has more money than your boss, Birdman! He raps because he’s a musician!

Artistry doesn’t die and neither do real artists chase coins! Artists do art for the love of the art! When you see old-ass rockin’ rollers still performing—they’re doing it because art dictates that they do art! There is no age limit on doing art—save (accept) in hip-hop where ignant ni**as like Young Thug think the “Jay Zs” of the world should put down the microphone.

The idea that rap is a “young man’s sport” may have some truth, but it is not an absolute truth. At some point (when he gets older) “Young” Thug will become “Thug” (without the Young)—and then Thug’s career may flounder and he’ll need a “Hug” (without the T)—and if “Hug” tries to continue rapping beyond his allotted “Fifteen Minutes of Fame”—the “H” may somersault to the back of his name (when we hear his music) and we’ll start calling him, “Ugh!”—as in, your music sucks!

Jeffrey Williams a.k.a. Young Thug—sitcho black a$$ down somewhere! You ain’t put nann album out yet and your mixtape is just aiiight. You’d better pray that anyone even wants to hear you rap at 50! And speaking of old-ass rappers—why you got your boss, Baby, who, by the way is older than Jay Z rapping on your song/video? As the great ghetto failure Suge Knight once said to Puff Daddy, “To all you artists out there, who don’t wanna be on a record label where the executive producer’s [Birdman, in this case] all on the records, dancin’ [rapping, in this case], come to Death Row!” Birdman can’t (really) rap! Get his old-ass off the record/screen! And while I’m on the Cash Money mogul, tha hell you doin’ to your “son?” The lil dude you boldly kissed on the mouf? Lil Wayne? You think Young Thug is your new pu$$y now? He will never do Wayne numbers!

I dig your fashion sensibilities, even being bold enough to wear a lil girl’s dress, but your commentary proves that you’re not a true artist. You’re a ni**a chasing fame & fortune. If you’re really about this hip-hop/rap life you’d be encouraging the young to pick up Jay Z and the like! You’d be sounding the trumpet of ageless music! You’d be like my dad—making the younger listen to that classic ish that gave rap its footing. And what do you know about old-a$$ “Danny Glover?” Ah! So you’ve been paying attention, eh? Now stop will the b####### commentary, because you really don’t have a clue what the young are bootlegging buying, just like you didn’t know a 55 year old knows your music! PS. Me & Prince been wearing the “Poet Shirt” long before you! That’s old people ish!

Cash Money: No-So-Fast, Drizzy!

Damn!

I was hoping for mad drama around this rumor, but it looks like Drake still has an obligation to Cash Money Records after this If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late album. HipHipWired chatted with an unnamed source over there at…somewhere…it didn’t specify Cash Money or Universal or the secretary…they said it is NOT an official Cash Money release. I figured it meant something since it says “2015 Cash Money Records” in small print. Nevertheless this weird IYRTITL title isn’t even the title of the album that is titled that. Weird. From Tha 6 is apparently the album title. I see Drake! Hustling!

Watch The Trailer For Drake's New Documentary 'Homecoming: The Lost Footage' (VIDEO)

Before Drake was Young Money’s golden child he was Jimmy from Degrassi: The Next Generation who was struggling to switch lanes from actor from emcee. After releasing releasing the short film Jungle and a new mixtape If You’re Reading This, It’s Too Late yesterday (Feb. 12), he has announced that he will be dropping a documentary that chronicles his humble beginnings.

In the trailer for Homecoming: The Lost Footage, Jas Prince, son of Rap-A-Lot CEO James Prince, revealed that Young Money head honcho Lil’ Wayne didn’t always see Drake’s potential and had no interest in bringing him into his circle.

“Wayne told me he sucked,” Prince said.  “He was like, ‘Jas, don’t play me that s### no more. It’s no good.'” Wayne’s change of heart was imminent.

The film, which will hit select theaters on Mar. 19th, features never before seen footage of his 2009 performance at Toronto’s Sound Academy, commentary from Bun B, behind the scenes footage and early career interviews.

Watch the trailer below.

Do Out Of Towners Have To Check In For All-Star In NY?

I have been seeing a lot out there and its something that is not indigenous to the city of New York. I am seeing on instagram and what not, certain people are telling “out of towners to check in.” You probably already know that this came from the West Coast and I think later, places like Detroit. Trick Trick in the house! Anyway, this is weird to me, but apparently folks gotta pay “street tithes” in order to be safe out here. You think its just talk or cats might actually get pressed?

Talib Kweli's Action Support Committee Raises Over $100,000 To Support Ferguson Protestors

Six months after the death of Mike Brown, protesters and activists in Ferguson are still going strong and rapper Talib Kweli and his Action Support Committee have taken notice.

Back in October, Kweli along with Tef Poe, Tory Russell, Donna Dragotta and Autumn Marie launched an Indiegogo crowd funding campaign, the Ferguson Defense Fund, to offer support to those who had been protesting for over 60 days and fighting against heavy resistance from Ferguson and St. Louis police.

They started the campaign with hopes of raising $25,000 but have surpassed that goal tremendously, raising a total of $112, 052.

“These are young men and women who have put their lives on hold to stand up for all of our freedoms,” Kweli said.  “The overly militarized police force in Ferguson has attempted to criminalize them by harassing and throwing them in jail for exercising their right to peaceful protest. We hope these funds help to empower.”

The first wave of grants will be distributed Feb. 13th to organizations including the Jail & Bail Fund, Artists As Tutors, Revolutionary Reading Program: Freedom Fighters, Tech Impact Initiative: Hands Up United, The Transitional Housing Program, The Bereavement Fund and Juventud Raza Unida: Latinos En Axion STL.

Did Drake Just Get Out Of Cash Money With “If You’re Reading This…”?

The drama is THICK right now.

The latest on the streets is that Drake dropped this new album/mixtape to fulfill his contractual obligation with Cash Money. This is why it is on iTunes. But did you peep how uber fast it appeared on SoundCloud (some say at the same time it showed up on iTunes)? Some say it was at the same time, but others speculate it is not about the money, but all about getting that contract wrapped up.

Drake could be a free agent.

J. Prince shows up and the next day…

Cash Money will probably offer him a boatload of money to stay and he will likely take it, in my opinion.

Tyga Responds To Drake's '6 P.M In New York' Diss And Calls Him A B—h On Twitter

Drake surprised us all when he turned a playlist on Soundcloud into an album on iTunes entitled If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late. Within those 17 tracks is a song called “6 p.m in New York” where Drizzy officially clapped back at Tyga for saying how he really felt about Drake in an interview last year.

“I don’t like Drake as a person,” T-Raww told VIBE last October. “He’s just fake to me. I like his music; you know what I’m saying? I think his music is good, but we’re all different people. We were forced together and it was kinda like we were forcing relationships together. It is what it is.”

In response to the shade thrown, the OVO frontman rapped “I heard the lil lil homie talking reckless in Vibe/It’s quite a platform you chose, you should have kept it inside/Oh you tried/It’s so childish calling my name on the world’s stage/You need to act your age and not your girl’s age.”

When Tyga caught wind of the track. he gave his former Young Money labelmate an earful via 140 characters and even threw his BFF Chris Brown into the mix, who ended his beef with Drake last year.
