Hip-Hop Rumors: Is Kanye Doing Yeezus Part Two?

I don’t know how you feel, but I hope that Yeezus doesn’t get resurrected. But the rumors are stating just that. Word on the street is that Kanye West is working on his new music and it sounds eerily like his last album. Yeah. That. Hopefully this is just a rumor and we’ll get something fresh and new from the Yeezy Man. Stay tuned, I guess.

What do you think about the prospect of getting a new Kanye album that sounds like Yeezus?GET INTERACTIVE WITH ALLHIPHOP.COM!

Hip-Hop Rumors: What Does Jay Electronica Have Up His Sleeve?

I really don’t know what this is. But Jay Electronica has something cooking with MF Doom and THE BULLITTS! I don’t know what else to say. For those that don’t know, MF Doom is a legendary rapper. And THE BULLITTS is a film and music producer. We all know Jay Elec, of course. I’m still wondering if we are going to get that solo album from the god before the years end.

Peep what Jay posted:

Here is the THE BULLITTS featuring my other baby momma, Rosario Dawson.

I’m not sure if THE BULLITTS is one person or a bunch of people. Here “they” are with Jay Elec and Lucy Lu.

Lil Kim Shares Favorite 'Ready to Die' Memory With B.I.G.

Arriving during what some consider to be the Golden Era of Hip Hop, Lil Kim earned her start beside the Notorious B.I.G. Their relationship left a lasting impression the rapper. The Queen Bee, exclusively shares with AllHipHop, her most cherished Ready to Die memory on the eve of it’s 20th anniversary (September 13th).

Lil Kim takes us back to 1994:

When we were on stage we had this dynamic chemistry. And there was always a different reaction when we came out on stage. At the time, people didn’t know how I looked. When they saw that I was a little petite girl, you know, I was sexy dressing, you know I looked sexy. I think that the world was going to go crazy when I came out, you know what I mean. It just shocked both of us that we would have this dynamic chemistry on stage. And that was like the fun part of it.

And I remember, like, I was so little that I had all this energy—but there’s such a thing as being so adrenaline-driven that—I don’t know if it was stage fright or whatever. But, I was so filled with adrenaline that there were times when nothing would come out. When I was rapping I had this little little light voice. I had to rap extra extra hard. The crowd would be so hype—when I tried to project it was like the crowd couldn’t hear me—but they loved my verse so much that they would just sing along for me.

It bothered me because I couldn’t hear myself. I really didn’t know how to rock a stage that well. My performance and my presence would get me over. This is what they say, they say, ‘I’m such a good performer that people didn’t even pay attention that nothing was coming out from my voice.’ So, it really bothered me.

I remember one day after a show— I was a young girl myself coming into the industry — I first signed my record deal I was 17 and a half going on 18. By the time we were on the road I was just 19 going on 20. I did not know how to project my voice, but I was a damn good performer. So, everyone, you know, just said my vocals for me.

One day after the show I was just crying. And I was running upstairs to my room and B.I.G. ran right up after me. Usually, him and all the boys were running to the after-parties and having fun. Just being out in the after-parties and stuff— B.I.G. just cut everything short. He was so concerned about me. He didn’t even care about the after-party. He didn’t care about running around with his boys.

He went into my room and asked me what was wrong; I told him. He actually got in the mirror with me. He got behind me and told me to grab a brush. He was actually teaching me how to project my voice and perform. That was a classic moment that I’ll never forget. I really  appreciated it because I know how much he liked to party after the shows. So, I was like, ‘Wow, he really cut that.’ That night he didn’t even go out. He saw that it was really bothering me. That really made me feel, you know, special.

Jim Jones: I Never Saw Dr. Dre Again After He Produced 4 Dipset Songs He Hasn't Released (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) At this point, Dr. Dre is the Hip Hop equivalent of a black hole, where the brightest stars record music that never surfaces. During a recent interview, Jim Jones describes recording with Dr. Dre and explains how he produced four Dipset songs they have never heard since.

On September 30th, 2010, Dr. Dre, Jim Jones, Juelz Santana and Cam’ron were videotaped working on music together, presumably for the as-of-yet unreleased Dipset reunion album. Four years and no songs later, Jim Jones tells The Breakfast Club that “[Dr. Dre] teased us by coming in my studio”

I ain’t never seen that man again and he took the records. We did like four records. Dr. Dre has four Diplomat records right now on Dre beats. In one night, he came in there, went to the studio and was like ‘I got the same studio, let’s rock.’ He put his little plug in in and we did four incredible records.

Lil Kim Talks Upcoming Song With Iggy Azalea, Motherhood + MORE (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) If someone told you 15 years ago that Lil Kim would be a mother who does not give a f*ck you would probably have said “Duh!” In a recent interview, the new mother speaks on her recently released mixtape Hardcore 2k14, an upcoming song with Iggy Azaela and T.I and more.

In her interview with Revolt TV, Lil Kim recollected on her career and stated that one of her favorite accomplishments are the number of up and coming artists who list her as an inspiration musically. Keeping on the topic of up and coming female artists, Kim praised Iggy Azaela for her realness and revealed an upcoming collaboration between the two:

[Iggy] and I working together. Her, I and T.I. are actually doing a track together. I don’t know if it’s going to be for my album or if we’re just going to…we have other plans for it as well. But, I think we’re going to do a double release.

Lil Kim released Hardcore 2k14 yesterday (September 11th) but was scheduled to originally be released on November 29th, 2013 under the title Hardcore 2k13. Kim admits that motherhood has made her “not give a f*ck” as now everything she does is solely for her three month old daughter Royal Reign. Her daughter was affecting her music before she was even born:

When this project was supposed to come out I had got pregnant. I didn’t know. I waws just moving and working and sutff. Once I became fully pregnant, I was working in the studio but at one point I couldn’t work anymore, obviously.

Profiles In Battle Rap: Illmaculate

(AllHipHop Features) A battle rapper’s status as an icon in the game is undeniable when even his rap peers name him as one of the greatest to ever do it. That’s the case for veteran battler Illmaculate.

The rhyme spitter has been winning rap competitions since he was a teenager. At just 17, Ill took home the title at the 2004 Scribble Jam emcee battle event. He later won the Spin The Mic New York finals in 2006 and then teamed with The Saurus to win the World Rap Championships that same year.

It was these triumphs that helped Illmaculate make the G.O.A.T. lists of fellow prominent battle rappers Hollow Da Don, Dizaster, and Okwerdz. With co-signs from some of the top-tier battlers, it was only right to find out who Ill would put on his own Mt. Rushmore of battle emcees.

Accordingly, the Pacific Northwest native is the latest subject in AllHipHop.com’s “Profiles In Battle Rap” series. Besides listing his top 4 battlers in history, Illmaculate also shares his favorite battles and which two Interscope artists he would go head-to-head-with.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Stevie J And Joseline Move Out Of Dream Home?

Stevie J and Joseline appear to have it all on Ratchet Love and Hip-Hop ATL, a beautiful new home and plenty of goodies to fill it up with. But despite having the seemingly perfect life on television screens every week, the two may be falling on hard times.

Word is the couple just couldn’t keep up with the rent, and were warned that if they did not leave the premises quietly, they would be evicted. There were UHAULs spotted in front of the lavish mansion and MediaTakeout snagged a few photos.

Meanwhile Stevie claimed to be moving on up and hinted at the couple’s own spinoff coming soon.

Moving on out isn’t exactly moving’ on up, unless you’re upgrading to something bigger and better…

Chris Brown Gives Ray Rice Advice On "How To Control Yourself" (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) This may be the first time in five years that Chris Brown assaulting Rihanna can help someone else. During a recent interview, Chris Brown advised Ray Rice no ways to control his anger while also detailing his continued battle with handling his own anger.

Chris Brown and Rihanna’s infamous 2009 Grammy night fight resulted in probation, eventual jail time and years of headlines. While talking with MTV, Brown lends some advice to Ray Rice, whom is in a similar situation Brown was back in 2009:

To Ray [Rice], or anybody else — because I’m not better than the next man — I can just say I’ve been down that road. I deal with situations and I’ve made my mistakes too, but it’s all about how you push forward and how you control yourself

Brown was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, insomnia and Post Traumatic Stress disorder back in February after completing 95 days of anger management therapy. According to Brown, he still communicates with his therapist twice and week:

I still talk to my therapist twice a week, and it helps me to…if I’m frustrated and I’m dealing with something, to vent and say what I’m going through so I can hear from an actual clinical person, ‘this is how you should react,’ or ‘it’s good to feel this way because feelings, emotions, and energy are supposed to come and go. It’s not supposed to stay there, you’re not supposed to keep it inside, because it’ll bottle up and you’ll become a monster.

Check out Chris Brown address the Ray Rice domestic violence incident below:

CBS Removes Rihanna-Featured Song From Thursday Night Football

(AllHipHop News) Rihanna can twerk with the best of them, but still can not shake the domestic abuse victim label. Yesterday (September 11th), CBS decided to remove the Rihanna-featured “Run This Town” song from the opening credits Thursday Night Football.

Earlier this year, CBS paid $200 million for the rights to air eight Thursday Night Football games this season and last night’s Baltimore Ravens vs Pittsburgh Steelers matchup was its first game. The original opening was to be Don Cheadle doing a voiceover on the Rihanna-assisted “Run This Town” due to the recent developments in the Ray Rice domestic violence controversy.

In an interview with SI.com, CBS Sports chairman Sean McManus explained how the decision ultimately came down to journalistic ethics:

We thought journalistically and from a tone standpoint, we needed to have the appropriate tone and coverage. A lot of the production elements we wanted in the show are being eliminated.

This is second incident in the past week where CBS has altered a performance from an R&B and Hip Hop artist. On Tuesday (September 9th) and Wednesday (September 10th), Nicki Minaj sent disparaging remarks towards CBS on her personal Instagram and Twitter account about the manner in which they edited her performance on Fashion Rocks Tuesday. In her Instagram message, Nicki accused CBS of being “people who care nothing about our art and creativity””:

My darlingz, I wish you could’ve seen the choreography on the 2nd verse of ANACONDA last night It was absolutely divine. CBS decided not to show it. Had they told us this before, we would have changed the choreo so that you guys could see the full performance from beginning to end. They already had you tuned in tho. Artists spend so much of their own money, time and passion to deliver their fans great performances. But ultimately, our art usually falls into the hands of people who care nothing about our art and creativity. Promise you’ll get to see this new choreo soon. Love uuuuuuuuuu!!!!!!! 11.24 ~ The Pinkprint

With the release of Painkilling: D.R.U.G.S. In America slightly set back, Sikai returns with the official lead single as we await the full length release. The title track from Sikai’s forthcoming project clearly shows that Sik has moved into a new chapter of his life, and his music will have anyone within earshot under the influence. An official visual has also been shot and is on the way. Painkilling: D.R.U.G.S. In America is coming soon.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Nicki Minaj Denied To Speak At Her High School

Nicki Minaj wanted to go back to her old stomping grounds, LaGuardia Arts High School and show the kiddos there some love, but was shut down by administration. Nicki took to Twitter to voice her frustration and received a few words of comfort from fans.

Screen Shot 2014-09-12 at 9.48.11 AM

LaGuardia’s Parent Association says Minaj was denied the opportunity because she wanted cameras to capture the moment, according to MediaTakeout.

MediaTakeout also posted a letter from the Parent’s Association:

“It has been brought to our attention that Nicki Minaj is attempting to generate publicity for herself by posting negative information about our principal, Dr. Lisa Mars, and LaGuardia Arts High School.

The fact is that Ms. Minaj was told by the NYC Department of Education (DOE) that she would not be allowed to enter the school with a television crew. The DOE has policies in place to protect the privacy and security of all its students. I’m sure we all appreciate the strict enforcement of these policies with regard to the safety of our children.

Yes, Nicki’s offer wasn’t entirely selfless. She was planning on filming the whole thing. I don’t blame the school for saying no.

If it’s a PR war Miss Nicki wants, she’s going to lose. What if she had just played by the DOE’s guidelines? That would have been too easy.”

Is the Department of Education pouring salt on Nicki? Or do you think its really about the students?

Hip-Hop Rumors: Tahiry Issues Statement Following Attack

As many of you may know, Tahiry was attacked during NYFW by a man named Carlos Gonzalez. The reality star was hospitalized and has been released and is recovering from home.

She issued a statement via Instagram yesterday to fans:

Thank you ALL for your well wishes. I am both appreciative and grateful to have you on my team and call you #teamtahiry! I am sincerely touched by your outpouring of love.

As you may or may not know, on Monday, Sept. 8, I was attacked, assaulted and violated, while in the workplace, by a man. I was beaten because I am woman with a voice and refuse to be disrespected. It is more proof that the violence against women is real and needs to be addressed publicly. The shaming and disrespecting of women/victims of violent abuses must stop. Violence against women must stop; a women’s voice and refusal to be disrespected is not grounds for physical abuse. #iamwoman #myvoicematters.

More to the point, I am home, healing and surrounded by love.
Rest assured, I will continue all my efforts and endeavors with the same faith, determination, passion and spirit I have always possesed. Again, thank you! You are ALL heroes of mine!
Love, Tahiry”
