Hip-Hop Rumors: Big Boi’s Wife Files For Divorce

Looks like Big Boi’s wife filed for divorce, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution. Big Boi (Antwon Patton), known as half of the Grammy Award winning duo Outkast, married Sherlita Patton back in February 2002.

Court documents show that they’re currently separated but the divorce will soon be official. The reason for the divorce sites that the marriage is “irretrievably broken.” Sherlita is seeking alimony, attorney’s fees, sole custody of their younger child, child support and a fair allocation of marital property.

The couple has two kids ages 18 and 12. It’s about to go down.

Countdown to the divorce and Sherlita’s subsequent reality show. She turned down a chance to appear on Real Housewives of Atlanta but she might rethink things. And if not RHOA, y’all know she’s going to end up on some TV rapper ex-wives club or something.

WTF News: 40-Year-Old Woman Pregnant by 23-Year-Old Son

A 40-year-old Nigerian woman is pregnant by and set to wed her 23-year-old son. The woman’s husband, and her son’s father, passed away and set the stage for the incestuous relationship.

Via Naijagists:

Betty Mbereko from Mwenezi in Maswingo who is now 6-month-pregnant for her son confirms that she has decided to marry him because she does not want to marry her late husband’s younger brothers, whom she says are coveting her.

Betty stunned a village court last week when she said the affair with her son had begun three years earlier. She said after spending a lot of money sending Farai to school following the death of her husband, she felt she had a right to his money and no other woman was entitled to it.

Um, ok so they don’t mention when the Mberekofrom’s husband actually passed. And then, what the hell kind of family is this? Did you peep that she mentioned that her other sons wanted her too? Ew.

Snoop Lion Says Tupac Was Crazy, Praises Drake + More W/ A$AP Rocky (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) Over twenty years in the Hip Hop game leads to one having a keen knowledge of lesser known stories. In the 2nd part of Snoop Lion and A$AP Rocky’s Back & Forth interview with Noisey, Snoop spoke on the infamous fight between Tupac and the Hughes brothers.

Back in 1993, Tupac assaulted the directors, Albert Hughes and Allen Hughes after the pair dropped the rapper from their seminal flick Menace II Society.

Tupac was crazy man. He didn’t even beat both of them up, he beat one of them up. [Laughs] Them n*ggas were my homeboys too. The Hughes Brothers were my friends. They lived right around the corner from me. They were my friends, man. They were squares like a motherfu*ker but they were my friends. I hate that Tupac beat him up. I don’t even know which one he beat up but it made me sick to the stomach.

In a 2009 interview with Vibe Magazine, Allen Hughes asserted that Tupac did not beat them up himself but had “12 Crips” beat up the director and even says “Tupac could not fight to save his motherf*cking life”:

The biggest misnomer is that me and Tupac got into any fight. It was me and 12 Crips that he got to jump me. He didn’t do s### Tupac didn’t lay a hand on me. I had my hands on him. But there was not a physical fight between me and Tupac. It was a physical fight between me and 12 gangbangers. I believe they are called the Rolling 40s and they rolled me up pretty good.

The gangsta rap pioneer who recently released a song with Drake called “No Guns Allowed” addressed the recent shootings and how those youth are brainwashed:

My whole background is guns. My first photoshoot I had real guns. Scared the photographer when I popped it on him like ‘wait a minute’. Yeah, n*gga this sh*t is loaded. It’s hot. You know what I’m saying? So I know what that is because I come from that, but it’s a brainwashing. I remember in the 70’s, all my homies used to fight and if you lost a fight you just went home and you lost. Then when the 80’s came, you lose a fight, you pick up a gun. Then the 90’s come, wasn’t no fighting, straight POP, POP, POP, POP!

Hip-Hop Rumors: Iggy Azalea Says Miley Cyrus Stole Twerking From Her

Iggy Azalea seems to fancy herself as an innovator. The “Cheeks” rapper tells Paper magazine that Miley Cyrus copied twerking from her:

“I’ve been doing that on stage for 2.5 years. She probably f-ckin’ watched my videos online and decided to try it.”

Mmmkay, so in real life the person who taught Miley Cyrus to twerk is burlesque dancer Amazon Ashley. Perhaps, Iggy was appropriating twerking and using black girls as props backup dancers first and she’s better at it but let’s be real, ain’t none of them bishes original. How about we find the source from which Iggy, an Aussie, copies her Southern accent too.

I wonder if Miley is going to clap back.

Hip-Hop Rumors: The Saga of Lil Wayne and Superhead Continues

Superhead and Lil Wayne sure have an interesting history. I don’t know if you know, but basically its some kind of strange love affair. But, the strange thing is Weezy is supposedly engaged and Superhead is – I don’t know – being Karrine. Recently, Karrine posted a picture of her at Lil Wayne’s house and has again professed her love for him. She said, “This moment, lying in bed, looking out into the backyard, watching the man who taught me everything about unconditional love and acceptance. Thanking God for the simple things. Thanking Him for forgiveness and forever.” Interesting: FOREVER.

So, then it leads right into a poem that she wrote to Lil Wayne called FOREVER.

When I was a child, I threw around the word forever, never understanding its implications. Back then, I also threw around the word love, never understanding its meaning, and the term friend, not realizing that not everybody could be one.

As much as I have always loved words, I have not always understood their weight.

But, forever…

As the years have gone by, I realized how long forever is and that, in actuality, it doesn’t exists. Forever is infinite –– it’s an idea that will always be chased but never captured.

How long is forever?

How much is infinity?

Eventually, I gave up on forever and learned to enjoy the now. I began to live my life in increments, knowing they could end at any time and that it was okay for things to end, for endings make way for beginnings and that is a word I have grown to appreciate.

I don’t believe in forever.

Not in life and not in love.

I understand that people grow and they often grow apart and in different directions — and that’s okay! I believe that people stay together out of fear and complacency and that, if most people had their druthers and were given different, better choices, they would snatch them up in a heartbeat and go live the life they’ve secretly been wanting to live.

Yet, they are bound by the falsities of forever.

They are bound by what other perpetually unhappy people have told them life should be and they are holding on to the idea that one day, some time in the future, they will reach this place called forever.

Except it doesn’t exist.

All there is, is this continuum of time multiplied by the inevitable and everything, one day, will end. The ride will stop and we’ll all have to get off and none of us will be getting off together and all of us will be getting off alone.

But here I am…

I’m looking at a relationship that just won’t seem to end and, as I stand nose-to-nose with you, my lips curling, my heart writhing in pain, tears streaming down my face, tinted black from my mascara, I say, “You don’t get to leave me.”

And just then, I summoned forever.

We fell apart that night, as we’d done before, as we did in July and before that, in January. And before that — in August. And before that…

It seems to go on forever.

And as I sped along the mountain top, clinging to the curves of the drop, I screamed at the precipice of my lungs. I ripped my throat apart in that car, reeling from the coming apart.

Thinking we were, finally, over.

I struggled all the next day to just keep moving, to count our increments of time together as ended — as lost in the continuum between never was and forever. As I readied for bed, I thought of you, wishing you could hear my heart, silently praying that you heard my shrills as I left you that night — that you heard everything I said through my tears.

Precisely then, you wrote…

…I hear you.

And, just like that, you summoned forever and I knew…

I don’t get to leave you.
