Jay Z Selling Ownership Stake In Barclays Center

(AllHipHop News) Jay Z is reportedly selling his one-fifth of one percent ownership in Brooklyn’s Barclays Center. According to Forbes, the Hip Hop mogul must get rid of his percentage of the arena because of his new Roc Nation Sports agency.

The Barclays has been appraised by the city of New York to be worth $741 million which means that Jay’s take is worth around $1.5 million, but he could garner more in the transaction. The “Holy Grail” performer already began selling his stake in the Brooklyn Nets franchise with new coach Jason Kidd forking over $500,000 for the rapper’s portion of the team.

Jay’s transition from sports team owner to sports agent began earlier this year when he signed New York Yankees second baseman Robinson Cano. Roc Nation Sports is now also home to Victor Cruz of the New York Giants, Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder, Geno Smith of the New York Jets, and Skylar Diggins of the Tulsa Shock.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Will The Po-Po Set A Trap For Lil Boosie?

lil boosie
Well, I got news for you and you probably already know this. But the streets of Baton Rouge are a GLEE at the prospect that Lil Boosie could be home as early as November. Let me tell you, they are HYPE. Rappers, fans…damn near everybody.

In fact, I heard they may even try a damn parade for the dude!

As I have said before, the Laws are looking to take it to the next level too. They are reportedly already looking to pull Boosie back in the bing. He’s got other indictments out there and they are stacked. If I’m wrong, he has about 6 other charges pending. Wishing the best, because he seems to have a lot of fans. Just hoping that he’s not guilty of the crimes he’s accused of. They are doosies and the officials have a hard on for dude! Pause!

BUT, there is one man that is rumored to be looking to bring Boosie into the fray of his label and that’s MMG King Rick Ross. Boosie is featured on Self Made 3 and they are looking to jump to the next level.

But, with Rick Ross on his side…he might just have an advantage!

Daily Word: Are You a Worrier or a Warrior?

Happy Thursday my Warriors of Light! Welcome to the day that you make a hard decision as to which direction you will stay… In the darkness or in the light!! Today’s Daily Word is dedicated to either being a worrier or a warrior! A worrier is someone who feels uneasy or concerned about something; most of the time it is something that may not ever happen. On the contrary a warrior is a person skilled in combat or warfare, especially within the context of worry, they do not really understand what that words means; they are ready to take on any challenge and will NEVER recognize defeat because losing is not an option! They say you can either worry or have faith but you can’t do both! On your quest for greatness you must make the decision on which side of the fence you will live on… The side that has you behaving as a helpless victim who can only accept what life throws at him/her or the side that has you behaving like your innate self, a victor, a warrior, a champion who is in total control of his/her life! Stop wasting time on things that don’t matter! On your next talk with you higher power ask for strength… Strength to accept the things that you cannot change; courage to change the things that you can; and wisdom to know the difference! Be a warrior and take what you deserve!!
-Ash’Cash

Hip-Hop Rumors: How'd Beyonce And Jay Hide Their Bodyguard's "Freaky" Acts?

Did you see this?

RELATED: Jay Z And Beyonce Had Fired BodyGuard For Alleged “Freaky” Behavior

Well, the rumor mill BEEN abuzz about this. But, basically when the bodyguard of Jay-Z and Beyonce was seemingly busted for “freaky” behavior with a hokker…it was hidden. There was something else done with their passports, which has yet to be revealed. We don’t know what happened there! But Norman Oosterbroek was FIRED for it. This man worked and protected Mandela, but he most assuredly had some issues. Most of them were in drugs unfortunately – and my sources said that from day one.

But, the question is how did Bey and Jay avoid the mess? How did it NOT LEAK? Jay and Beyonce reportedly cut a very special deal in which they traded a cover story with a magazine so they would NOT print the unflattering info about Oosterbroek – and them as well by default. The game is meant to be sold – NOT TOLD!

Hip-Hop Rumors: Ready For Mase's Return? Read The Rumor!

Looks like Mase is finally getting it together and has some traction in his comeback. Sometimes I wonder if Betha is just playing with rap and really will never come back. But, I heard that this verse he spit on 2Chainz new album is a game changer for the Harlem rapper.

Did you hear it yet?

The fans are screaming for Mase to comeback, but I am hearing that some heavies in the music game are still interested in Mason. Now, the big question is, “Can Mase and Diddy get this contract situation together?” I’m not sure, because it seems that Diddy still have him under contract and isn’t about to let him go. Even 50 Cent couldn’t get him out of his deal back in the day.

Here it is right here…pretty dope.

Fail of the Day: Drugs Got This Man Like Smokey in Deebo's Chicken Coop

Most of us know that drugs are bad and all that good stuff but some people just refuse to compute that message. As a result, said individuals get caught out there, and by out there, I mean literally on the internet looking crazy. The following video depicts a man high on something rolling around on the ground in front of a Popeye’s.

The man with the camera seems to think this guy is high from popping Mollies. I doubt it. I vote either bath salts, crack or pcp. If it’s bath salts everyone within a few yards better run before he goes angry zombie.

Hip-Hop Rumors: BEEF ALERT! Guess Who's Going At It Now!

Soooooooo….I spotted this over at Funk Flex’s site and ignored it…until now. (Basically, somebody implored me to write about it.)

It looks like Travis Scott (Kid Cudi, G.O.O.D. Music) has some serious issues with the homey MGK. The Foxtail Fest happened right in Delaware and I wasn’t there. SMH! But, there was some beef on the barbie that day. Trav continually dissed MGK for using the term “rager,” which is seemingly Kid Cudi’s thing.

A fan named Kendall wrote the following:

He saw a girl with a “RAGERS” shirt and was like yo there’s only two real ragers out there, me and Cudi. Cudi’s the greatest, y’all like Cudi? And we’re just like f**k that we’re not at a Cudi show. We’re about MGK right now. He tried to get us chanting his name but we were chanting MGK instead and he goes “f### that fa***t s**t” and after Kells was subtweeting him. It was messed up.

Read what Marisa at IFWT said:

Travi$ Scott asks the crowd to take a photo, and a majority of them throw their "L's" up for MGK. Seems like he blurred that part out!

On Saturday night, both Machine Gun Kelly and Travi$ Scott played at the first annual Foxtail Fest in Wilmington, DE. Trav’s set was right before MGK’s (who headlined the show), and he appeared to be a little annoyed that the crowd were majority MGK fans…judging by his statements on stage, anyway. Upon seeing a group of kids in the front row with shirts that read “MGK,” “Ragers” and “Lace Up,” Travi$ proceeded to tell the audience that the only two “real ragers” in the game were himself and Kid Cudi. As the audience started yelling out “Cleveland” (MGK’s hometown), Travi$ mentioned that Cudi was from Cleveland, and asked the crowd if they liked him. They started chanting “MGK” and “Lace Up,” and he eventually yelled “F*ck that f###*t sh*t” before launching into a chant of “XX” and then going into the next song.

Kells really didn’t feed into it. He said the following:

MGK's tweet after the show

Hip-Hop Rumors: Azealia Banks Accuses Lady Gaga of Stealing Her Idea

Azealia Banks is at it again with the Twitter ranting. This time she’s taking aim at Lady Gaga. The 22-year-old Harlem rapper claims that Gaga stole the song title for her forthcoming single “Red Flame” from her.  Azealia was previously supposed to be featured on Gaga’s album, but since she stirred up Twitter drama, Gaga removed her from the project.

"Think Like a Man" Star: My Drunk Father Once Crashed Into Cars With Me Next To Him [VIDEO]

(AllHipHop News) Romany Malco has played characters that have been brilliant drug-smuggling botanists, sexually obsessed sales associates and belligerent ex-con turned motivational speaker. He recently told stories from his childhood at Cipha Sounds’ Take It Personal Hip Hop improve show and his ability to play such a range of mentally unstable characters became salient.

Malco shared with the packed crowd at the UCB Theatre on East 3rd St in New York City’s Lower East Side a story involving his drunk father escaping from paying for damaging someone’s car by smashing into a bunch of other cars with a young Romany Malco in the car with him.

UCB regulars Cipha Sounds, Phil Jackson and Christian Capozzoli spun this hilarious story into one involving extortion, guns and Black people’s use of the word “uncle”.

Cipha Sounds’ Take It Personal is every Friday at 9pm and tickets can be purchased here.

Check out Romany Malco explain his dad’s drunken road rage and the UCB improvisers turn it into comedic gold:

Hip-Hop Rumors: French Montana, Drake, Diddy & Cassie, And Even Antoine Dodson….

Word on the street is that Diddy and Cassie are very close to marriage. As you may already know, Diddy has been cleaning up his life. He’s moved to LA with his family. He’s slowed down the playboy life. And then there is Cassie. They two have been playing footsies on the internet, very public displays of love and affection for all to see. But, insiders are saying that all the cleaning up is in preparation for marriage. I can see there being truth in this, because Diddy has been doing his thing for a minute – the original bad boy for real. Anyway…that’s what’s up. We’ll see if congrats are truly in order.

The good folks over there at AllHipHop sent me a message that French Montana sent to me. And basically French said that there’s no way that Gucci was hacked, because he was revealing stuff that only he and Deb Antney were privy to knowing. Getting “hacked” is such a cop out.

Apparently, there are some subliminal disses to Kendrick on the new Drake album. I can’t lie, I have to wait for somebody to show me. But, on Twitter they told me.

Antoine Dodson…remember him? He was gay and converted to straight? YEP. Dude is going to be a father.

Chris Brown has seemingly stated that his next album will be a double album that features Kendrick Lamar, Kelly Rowland and B.O.B.

WTF News: Man Gets Drunk From Eating Food

A 61-year-old Texas man was turned away from an emergency room after telling them that he was drunk without actually drinking any alcohol. Authorities dismissed him as a batty drunkard after he registered a 0.37 blood alcohol count (nearly five times the legal driving limit in Texas) following a breathalyzer test. They assumed he was a closet drunk yet he insisted that he had not been drinking.

Get this, he was telling the truth. It was his own body producing the booze. Can you imagine what those hangovers must have been like? Eventually some medical professionals took on his case and made some bizarre discoveries after isolating the man for testing.

Via The Huffington Post:

During the isolation, the man ate carbohydrate-rich foods and ended up with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.12 percent. The man’s belly was brewing booze due to a buildup of Saccharomyces cerevisiae — a common yeast — in his gut, Cordell discovered. When he ate or drank starch-heavy foods, including bagels, pasta and soda, the yeast in his belly fermented the sugars into ethanol.

NPR reports that the rare buildup can happen after patients take antibiotics. Killing all the bacteria in one’s stomach paves the way for yeast the grow and thrive. Another contributing factor may have been his home-brewery, which would have required the man to keep plenty of live yeast around, according to Business Insider.

The man was treated with anti-fungal medicine and a low-carb diet.

Rick Ross: I Still Wear Reebok Even Though They Fired Me

Reebok severed ties with Ross following the immense negative criticism over alleged rape lyrics  in Rick Ross’ verse on Rocko’s “U.O.E.N.O”.  Ross says a lifelong bond with the famed sneaker brand will not die over a failed deal:

I’m still supporting Reebok. I’m still wearing Reebok. It’s nothing more than that. I’ve been wearing Reebok my whole life. …Still got nothing but love for Reebok.

In the interview, Ross also reveals that the money loss in the endorsement deal and the negative criticism were not “the most unfortunate things” about the controversy:

I think the most unfortunate thing about the whole situation was just the fact that my lyrics offended some ladies, especially dealing with the topic of rape. It was interpreted as rape. I really wanted to make sure that I apologize to any woman that I offended in that way. I just wanted to make that clear.

Check out the full interview with the Associated Press below where Ross speaks on lessons learned from Jay Z, why Self Made 3 is predominantly himself, Meek Mill and Wale along with other topics:

AP: What did you learn from your setback with Reebok?

Ross: You live and you learn. I think the most unfortunate thing about the whole situation was just the fact that my lyrics offended some ladies, especially dealing with the topic of rape. It was interpreted as rape. I really wanted to make sure that I apologize to any woman that I offended in that way. I just wanted to make that clear. When I make music and I’m talking on records, it’s like I’m painting a picture. In my mind, I’m seeing a film. I apologize.

How did the women close to you feel about the situation?

They know where I stand as far as women. They know the level of respect I have for women. With my mother being the most beautiful woman in the world, she knows where I’m coming from.

Jay-Z has supported you since he signed you to Def Jam in 2006. How has he helped you through your maturation?

He’s been a part of pretty much every project I’ve put together as a solo artist. He’s always been there any time I’ve made a call. It’s just an array of things I’ve learned from him outside of music, like handling business and money. …I come from down South where I want the music, bass and the beats that shake the walls. Hov talked to me about performing (and) what live music brings to the table.

This is your label’s third compilation album and it mainly features you, Wale and Meek Mill. Why do you think it’s beneficial to release a compilation album?

When you see compilations like this, you see longevity. With us, we have people who are on top of their game. But we want to bring more artists into the fold, and give young artists an opportunity to be on the same playing field with us. That in itself speaks volumes to someone at home chasing their dreams.

What was going through your mind when you first saw yourself on “Magic City” as the character Butterball?

Honestly, when I saw myself come out from around that corner, I was really amazed by how handsome I looked. It’s like I got to see myself outside of seeing myself. I said to myself, ‘Wow, that’s an attractive (expletive) there. Not to mention, he’s rich.’ I just kind of laughed at myself. All the calls I had coming in, everybody was (messing) with me, picking at me and saying how I charged out to the car. They said I was talking like I was not me. I told them, ‘So what … I’m a boss.’

Do you want to act more?

I think it’s super cool when you’re able to act, but I’m really exciting if it’s something I’m a fan of. There are a lot of films that I see and like today, but it doesn’t necessarily make me want to be a part of it. Even if I had the opportunity or the offers, I could pass. I’ve passed on many films and lost checks, but that’s not what drives me to act. On “Magic City,” in particular, it’s a show pertaining to my city (Miami). Once I began watching it, I became a fan.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Waka Flocka Kinda Joins 'Love & Hip-Hop Atlanta'

Waka Flocka Flame has finally addressed rumors that he and his fiancée, Tammy Rivera, have joined the cast of Love & Hip-Hop Atlanta. He won’t be an official cast member but his fiancée will definitely be joining the popular VH1 show full time.

He told Power 105.1’s the Breakfast Club that he “doesn’t really do reality TV,” but that we may be seeing him on one or two episodes.

Sure

Given the fact that his mom Debra Antney has made quite a few appearances on the show (and needs her own show) and that Mona Scott Young is quite enterprising and persuasive, I’m willing to bet that it will be more like three or four or five episodes, especially with impending nuptials coming up. You know us nosy people love watching weddings and rapper relationship drama unfold on reality TV.
