Kanye Goes Kanye: Talks Fame, Describes Yeezus as “One Man Gangbang” + More
(AllHipHop News) A conversation with Kanye West can go millions of different ways and Kanye consciously chooses its direction. Mr. West gives his most expository interview with W Magazine where he touches on almost releasing his own sextape, Watch The Throne, how he really is a god and copious other quotables.
According to Kanye, the boastful “I Am God” was inspired by an unnamed fashion designer informing Kanye he could not attend any other events at Paris Fashion Week if he wanted to attend his runway:
“So the next day I went to the studio with Daft Punk, and I wrote ‘I Am a God. ‘Cause it’s like, Yo! Nobody can tell me where I can and can’t go. Man, I’m the No. 1 living and breathing rock star. I am Axl Rose; I am Jim Morrison; I am Jimi Hendrix.”
The iconoclastic West continues with his comparisons to impactful cultural heros when discussing his 2011 collaborative album with Jay-Z Watch The Throne:
“It was like Steve Jobs and Bill Gates talking at the same time. You know which one of us was Steve.”
One of the more surprising revelations in the interview is Kanye’s admission that he was planning on releasing his stolen sex tape which was being shopped around last year. While the women in the video is still unknown, Kanye contends that the sextape would not have not tarnished his image but give it a noticable improvement:
“For the most part, I’d rather people have one of those home videos than some of the paparazzi photos that get published. At least I recorded the s### myself. That tape couldn’t have hurt me in any way if it came out—it could only have helped.”
The article also reveals that Kanye is the creative director for an upcoming Jetsons movie and has logged in some time in his home studio in Paris with The Weeknd. Also, West is releasing “a new men’s capsule collection of jeans, T-shirts, and hoodies for a hip French brand” in July according to the article. But the reach of a man who calls Yeezus his “god name” extends furhter than simply music and fashion according to the article:
” He’s plotting to create operas, stores, films, product packaging, amusement parks, and, possibly, entire cities.”

Hip-Hop Rumors: Why Does Flo-Rida Have To Pay For A Kid That’s Not His?
Damn! Poor Flo-Rida! It looks like he has 18 years or so of support to pay….AND THE KID AIN’T HIS! Peep what TMZ is saying.
Flo Rida’s baby mama is demanding the rapper fork over some dough for his kid … the very same kid Flo adamantly DENIED fathering — but now we know the truth.
The Florida Dept. of Revenue filed legal docs in connection with Gloria Holloway’s request for child support from Flo — real name Tramar Dillard — for Gloria’s two-year-old son.
As TMZ previously reported, Flo denied knocking up Gloria … and even claimed he took a paternity test that came back negative — but according to the new docs, the court has ALREADY established paternity.
Here’s why … when child support requests come through the state’s Dept. of Revenue — it usually means no one’s disputing it. Translation: Looks like Flo’s the daddy.
Now the state of FL wants Flo to hand over his financials so it can determine how much he owes.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Is Kanye About To Propose To Kimmie Kakes?
I know some people have something to say about Ye having this baby with Kim Kardashian, so they are really going crazy over this rumor. Folks are saying that Kanye West is getting set to propose to Kim and ask her for her hand in marriage.
The UK Sun has proclaimed that they will get married in September, but other sources are saying it ain’t true. Here is a rehashing from NJ.com.
In its report, The Sun, claiming knowledge of a planned September wedding in Paris, said West proposed to Kardashian after she gave birth to their daughter on June 15.
The report also said, West, 36, did not propose with an engagement ring. Instead, he allegedly gave Kardashian, 32, a $500,000 rare black diamond ring.
A friend of Kardashian confirmed to People.com that the couple plan to wed but said West has not yet proposed.
The couple put their baby — the first for each — on the map days ago with the announcement of her name, North.

President Obama Sings Daft Punk and Pharrell’s “Get Lucky”…Sort Of (VIDEO)
(AllHipHop News) The internet can make a star out of a regular person and Presidential remix of a Daft Punk song out of spliced together speeches.
The people behind the YouTube channel Barackdubs pieced together numerous speeches from Barack Obama that contained words from Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky” to create this impressive “remix”.
Barackdubs have other Obama dubs for songs such as Justin Beiber’s Carly Rae Jespen’s “Call Me Maybe”, Justin Beiber’s “Boyfriend” and others.

World Wide Yeezus: Kanye’s New Album #1 In U.K. and Austrailia
(AllHipHop News) The winner of the June 18th battle royale seems to becoming clearer after Kanye West’s Yeezus became the #1 album in both the United Kingdom and Australia.
Yeezus sold 25,000 copies in the United Kingdom and over 9,500 in Australia. Yeezus becomes his first album to top the charts in both the UK and Australia since 2007’s Graduation album.
J. Cole’s Born Sinner sold a respectable 12,000 copies in the United Kingdom landing him the #7 slot. The album did not crack the Top 50 in Australia.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Mobb Deep Cancel European Tour!
Well, Mobb Deep is celebrating their 20th anniversary and we are all very happy that the gods of rap blessed us with such a dope group. But, I am hearing that the guys ran into some issues with their European Tour, which was added after the domestic part of it all.
Basically, I heard that due to P’s legal past and whatnot, he was not able to get clearance to go to certain places outside of the US. I don’t know much more but I am going to pass off to the news department to get the real deal info.
Glad I live here…even though I didn’t see them on any of the dates.

Jay-Z Talks Blue Ivy + More in Lyrics of New Song “Holy Grail” Feat./ Justin Timberlake
(AllHipHop News) Every news post regarding the innovative tactics Jay-Z is taking in his promotion of Magna Carta Holy Grail should begin with “#newrules”. Fans who downloaded Jay-Z’s Magna Carta Samsung app via Google Play were gifted with the lyrics to one of the songs entitled “Holy Grail”.
Featuring his co-headliner for the “Legends of the Summer” tour, Justin Timberlake, Shawn Carter waxes poetics about the ills of fame and even spoke on how it’s affected his parenting of Blue Ivy:
“Photo shoots with paparazzi/Cant even take my daughter out for a walk.”
The song is expected to be released tomorrow (June 25th).

Hip-Hop Rumors: Are Jay-Z And Beyonce Working On A Duet Album?
Clearly, this is a photoshop image. But, there is a rumor that Jay-Z and B may be working on a duet album for next year. I know this is an odd rumor based from a random source, but can it be far-fetched since they are so dominant in the music game. Right now, I am sure they are primarily focused on the new Jay-Z album, Magna Carta Holy Grail, but maybe this is what’s up for 2014.
Over the weekend, Jay-Z’s soldiers were out in the streets of NY. They passed out Magna Carta booklets with the lyrics blacked out. I guess this is the street promo that leads up to the big 4th of July day. I am interested to see how the this album “leaks” after it is on the Samsung platform. A million people is a lot!

Jim Jones recently hit the streets of Miami, when he appeared in the South Beach section of the city, to host Prestige Sundays at Club Bamboo.
Jim Jones brought his Vampire Life crew and filled the evening with bottles of liquor and champagne, while celebrity “it” girls Teyana Taylor and Karrueche Tran showed up to party with the Harlem rapper.

Lil Reese Arrested For Theft Of BMW
(AllHipHop News) Chicago rapper Lil Reese was charged with misdemeanor theft this weekend. According to a report by CBS Chicago, court records state that Reese (real name Tavares Taylor) “presented false documentation to obtain” a 2006 BMW 750 Li back on April 13. Police did not provide any further details about the case.
Reese was arrested on Saturday (June 22). A Cook County judge set his bail at $5,000 at a bond hearing on Sunday.
This is the second time the 20-year-old has been arrested in the last 3 months. The close associate of Chief Keef was taken into custody on April 28th as well. He was charged with criminal trespassing, mob action, and battery in that case after a violent videotape showing him attacking a young women surfaced in 2012.

Killer Mike Talks Truth vs Fantasy & Globalization Of Hip Hop [VIDEO]
(AllHipHop News) Killer Mike was recently overseas to perform at the Primavera Sound Festival in Barcelona. While in Spain the Dungeon Family affiliate sat down with Pitchfork to discuss his reasoning for focusing on “the truth” in his rhymes and recognizing the internet’s role in the global expansion of Hip Hop.
“I choose to speak the truth because I think there’s value in it,” says Mike. “Everybody enjoys a good fantasy, but the truth is so much more entertaining.”
There are also footage of Mike performing “God In The Building” and “R.A.P. Music” spliced into the clip.
Killer Mike released his critically acclaimed 6th LP R.A.P. Music in 2012. The album was produced entirely by El-P.
The duo has join forces again as an official group called Run The Jewels. Originally scheduled for a June 19th release, Killer Mike and El-P are now set to drop their free joint album this week on June 26th.

Left Eye’s Family Is Upset About New TLC “Waterfalls” Remake
(AllHipHop News) TLC’s 1995 single “Waterfalls” was one of the biggest hits of the girl group’s career. The song spent seven weeks at number 1 on the Billboard chart and catapulted the Atlanta trio into superstars around the world.
In commemoration of the group’s 20 year anniversary, TLC’s signature song was re-released, except this version leaves out the rap by the late Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes. It’s replaced with vocals by Japanese performer Namie Amuro, and according to TMZ, Left Eye’s family is not happy about the change.
“I did not know about it until a fan posted it online. I mean it would have been nice if they would have given us a heads up before being surprised,” said Left Eye’s sister Reigndrop Lopes. Reigndrop also says her mother was “hurt” and wanted to see her daughter’s memory honored by keeping Lisa on the track.
Lisa Lopes was killed on April 25, 2002 from a car crash in Honduras. Her verse on “Waterfalls” is often credited as one of the highlights of her career.

Rick Ross Wanted Lil Snupe On Self Made Vol 3; Meek Mill Releases Tribute Video
(AllHipHop News) The tragic death of Lil Snupe unfortunately put a halt to the 18-year-old rapper’s rising career. Before his death the young emcee was signed to Meek Mill’s Dream Chaser label and apparently was about to get a major opportunity from Maybach Music Group’s boss Rick Ross.
According to Meek, Ross had reached out to him about getting Snupe on MMG’s upcoming compilation album Self Made Vol 3. Meek uploaded a screenshot of a text conversation with Snupe from two weeks ago on Instagram.
The post shows Snupe’s appreciation for Meek signing him, Meek revealing that Ross wants him for a single for MMG’s August 6th LP, and a caption that just read “Sh*t! crazy.”

Snupe was murdered June 20th in Winnfield, Louisiana. Police have identified 36-year-old Tony Holden as a suspect in the case. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.

There’s no word whether Lil Snupe will still appear on the next installment of the Self Made series, but Meek does celebrate Snupe’s life in a new tribute video called “Nobody.” The song is from Snupe’s R.N.I.C mixtape.
