Mr. “Sure Thing” himself has released his three-song EP entitled Art Dealer Chic Vol. 1, and it’s one of three he plans to give out – for free.
On the meaning behind the visual, Miguel says: “The visual for “Adorn” is the projection of a dream I recently had. I wanted to use simple creative elements in a symbolic way to communicate the intense desire to understand its meaning.”
In 2010, Miguel released his debut album All I Want Is You, which spawned two charting singles – the J.Cole assisted “All I Want Is You” and “Sure Thing”.

Some will recall Datari Turner’s early work as creator of BET’s#### show, “The Ultimate Hustler”, starring music mogul Damon Dash. Many others will remember Turner’s face (and body) being plastered up on Sean John clothing billboards. Now, this former model-turned-film producer is heating up Hollywood with his latest feature, “Dysfunctional Friends”, starring Stacey Dash, Jason Weaver, and Meagan Good, just to name a few.
There are only a handful of powerful Black producers in Hollywood. So few, you really only need one hand to count them. One of those producers is former Ford Modeling agency supermodel Datari Turner. The 32-year-old got his start as a supermodel at the young age of 19, and even skipped school to keep that dream alive. Now, his eyes are set on a successful career in film, and he admits that he respects the work of producer giants Tyler Perry and Rainforest Films’ Will Packer, but he’s more interested in a career similar to that of producer legend Jerry Bruckheimer.
This fall, Turner looks to release his next feature, “LUV”, starring rapper Common. AllHipHop.com got a chance to catch up with Datari, Listen to our full interview here:
Watch the “Dysfunctional Friends” trailer below, and follow Datari on Twitter (@DatariTurner):
(AllHipHop News) Hip-Hop group Cypress Hill will protest federal marijuana laws today (March 1) in downtown Los Angeles.
Group leader B-Real and organizers of Cypress Hill’s annual SmokeOut Festival have teamed with Americans for Safe Access (ASA) and the Medicine &nMusic Project, for a peaceful protest to federal marijuana laws, which at times conflict with state legislation.
Cypress Hill’s B-Real will meet with protesters at 4:20 PM. They will then march to the Edward R. Roybal Federal Building.
“The Cypress Hill SmokeOut is not only a music festival—it’s a movement,” said B-Real. “The goal of its inception was to use the power of music to build a platform for supporters, advocates and fans to congregate and take a stand toward decriminalization. Every artist that has ever been a part of the SmokeOut bill has been selectively chosen not only for their incredible talent and art, but also for their passion for legalization and safe access to medicine. The artists’ have the ability to reach and educate their fans and followers in their respective communities including hip-hop, rock, Latin music or dance.”
B-Real will speak, in addition to Americans for Safe Access’ California director Don Duncan.
According to Duncan, the goal of the rally is to promote safe and legal access to cannabis, for therapeutic use in research.
“Obama’s failure at keeping his promise not to ‘circumvent’ state medical marijuana laws and to highlight the unprecedented attack on patients and their providers across the country are hurting legitimate patients,” ASA’s Don Duncan said. “Patient advocates are calling on Obama to end his attacks on the medical marijuana community and begin to address this issue from a public health standpoint.”
Starting location – 4:20pm:
City Hall (meeting at the West Steps)

“Introduction” to AllHipHop.com contributor Clayton Perry’s Beyoncé [Expected Date of Publication: Fall 2012]
With close inspection, one will discover that the career of Beyoncé Knowles is much like a jigsaw puzzle: a collection of diverse, interlocking pieces that come together to form a unique whole. In various stages and phases, she has utilized her talents – as a singer, songwriter, record producer, and actress – to seal her status as one of the best-selling female artists of all-time, in addition to being a member of the world’s best-selling groups, with worldwide sales of 75 million records.
Her fame and fortune resemble that of a “fairy tale” life – or better yet, a Charles Dickens novel: mixing fantasy and realism – with multiple cliffhangers pinches in the storyline – that captivate audiences to sit, stare and watch in awe. One can only applaud Beyoncé’s defiance to adhere to the prevailing scientific notion that “what goes up must come down.” For the record: the trajectory of “the Beyoncé brand” has been purely vertical.
Since the age of seven, Beyoncé has dedicated her life to the mastery of the entertainment craft. With such preparation, her bold (“in-your-face”) professing on “Diva” (2008, I Am… Sasha Fierce) smacks all competition and naysayers soundly in the face – like the mighty jabs of boxer Laila Ali – with rap-like singing and customary braggadocio on Verses One (“Stop the track! Let me state facts” and “Been the number one diva in this game for a minute!”), Two (“Getting money – [this diva’s] getting money!” and “Tell me somethin’ where your boss at?”) and Three (“Since fifteen – in my stilettos – been struttin’ in this game!” and “What’s your age? Was the question they asked when I hit the stage.”)
If a diva – as Beyoncé attests – is “the female version of a hustler,” then it would be futile to deny the business savvy, sensuous imagery and dual [personal-professional] “merger” with Jay-Z fused with her artistic skill set, in re-defining [with contemporary modifications relating to connotation and denotation] of the social status and personal vision of the modern-day diva. (Lyrics from the bridge of “Diva” allude to this triumphant mission: “Take it to another level. No passengers on my plane!”) Both in life and art, as it happens, Beyoncé “talks the talk” – because she can “walk the walk.” And who can blame her?
Beyoncé’s ubiquitous presence and entrenchment in popular music culture is simply amazing. The continuous stream of success – flowing incessantly like the Nile River – is the by-product of two decades of practice, focus and commitment. A pop icon indeed: 16 GRAMMY Awards, 11 Music Television (MTV) Video Awards, recognition as the “Top Certified Artist of the 2000s” by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), and the receipt of Billboard’s Millennium Award following her designation as the magazine’s “Top Radio Songs Artist of the 2000s.”
In isolation, the praise and accolades bestowed to her artistic journey read like a professor’s curriculum vitae – a record tracking the extensive professional experiences and nuanced qualifications collected over a lifetime of significant achievement. The gross receipts of Queen Bey’s worldwide box office – consisting of six films totaling $725.9 million [unadjusted for ticket price inflation] – adds an emphatic exclamation mark to the list: $296.7 (Austin Powers in Goldmember, 2002, New Line), $158.9 (The Pink Panther, 2006, Sony – Columbia), $154.9 (Dreamgirls, 2006, Paramount – DreamWorks), $73.8 (Obsessed, 2009, Sony – Screen Gems), $32.8 (The Fighting Temptations, 2003, Paramount), and $8.9 (Cadillac Records, 2008, Sony – Columbia).
Since the beginning, with the debut of “No No No” in 1998 as a member Destiny’s Child, Beyoncé has literally engaged in a decade-plus game of one-upmanship. Interestingly enough, the narrative arc of Beyoncé’s career is not a tale featuring the outwitting, outsmarting and outmaneuvering of fellow entertainers. Quite the opposite: she battled herself – as a solo and group artist in various forms – along with “Sasha Fierce,” her confident, internal cheerleader.” Let the facts be clear: Beyoncé always outshined Beyoncé. The competition could only watch in awe and pay respect – with applause – or simply “hate” – perhaps the greatest form of flattery.
By the age of 30, Beyoncé was a seasoned professional with a level of success comparable to veteran entertainers twice her age. Belying the love – and at times envy – of her comrades in art, it was attained with an air of simplicity – but only with superficial examination! Like a chameleon, the world watched the evolution of one of music’s greatest performers, and luckily – as a result of her longevity – we were allowed to grow and age together.

“I was born. I did some sh*t… mostly in Brooklyn. Drank some 40’s f*cked some ho’s, oh and I rap. You might have heard of me, maybe you haven’t… f*ck you either way.” – Mr. MFN eXquire
Hailing from Brooklyn, Mr. MFN eXquire has surely been making a name for himself over the past year with his outspoken nature, gritty and honest yet playful lyrics, and all of those damn necklaces he rocks. The man behind records like “Huzzah” and “Lou Ferrigno’s Mad” is one of a handful of the industry’s, and more specifically New York’s, most prolific artists who has been setting his city ablaze along with a new crop of MCs hailing from the Big Apple.
At the end of the day, though, no one can tell their own story better than the person himself who lived it. So, when AllHipHop.com bumped into Mr. MFN eXquire at the MTV2 Digital Mixer that was being held at the Beats By Dre story in New York City recently, that’s exactly what we got him to do.
Mr. MFN eXquire spoke about his non Hip-Hop influences, his all-time favorite MC, being labeled a “90’s style rapper,” and the story behind his many necklaces. Check out the first video with him below:
eXquire then opened up about Troy Ave’s “Home Team” record that dropped recently, featuring himself, Action Bronson and Maffew Ragazino, as well as the camraderie between the new wave of New York City MCs and the support they have for one another. He also touches on what he’s working on now musically:
In our last video, eXquire talks about who, if there is anyone, he’s “not feeling” and how he felt when he heard that fellow rapper Danny Brown called him “the next Biggie.”

Lists? We talkin’ ’bout lists?
Man, f**k a list.
Ni**as all up in arms over some f**king rapper lists.
I hope ya’ll defend/campaign for your mother the same way ya’ll do for these rap ni**as. Muthaf**ka’s won’t come to your funeral but you’re ready to go to the grave for them. I don’t give a f**k what somebody else thinks is hot. What another muthaf**ka eats doesn’t make me sh*t.
You either.
At least it shouldn’t.
This mag made a list. That site made a list. So what? f**k them. Make your own g###### list. Make a list of dumb-ass lists. I put my damn Top 5 MC’s on Twitter once & ni**as acted like I changed the f**king Commandments. One n#### offered to “clean my list up” for me.
My list is my f**king opinion. I got one. Make your own list. Nobody’s probably going to care, but at least you got your own list right?
Then again, that’s what this is all about. You DO have your own list don’t you, dear reader? You want validation. You want everyone ESPECIALLY those mags & sites to agree with you & validate the names that you hold dear. When they don’t you get angry as f**k don’t you? Better watch out, you’re gonna wake up w/ in a roadside ditch.
Everybody’s a f**king critic, & they think NOBODY know’s sh*t but them. Who gives a f**k? ni**as cry over some cats personal opinions like some celestial being etched their lists in stone & gave them to a dude upon a mountaintop. If I were you, I would watch the cats who declined to be included in certain lists. They seem to be the ones who win.
Just know that these media cats compile these names just to get a reaction from the public, rack up hits, & start various discussions & arguments. With that said, I would be remiss to not give you my Top 5 MC’s (really 6) so you can rip it to shreds & call me a “dookyhead” or whatever.
Who gives a f**k?
These are the ni**as I think can spit. Sorry your favorites may not be there, but f**k you. Be careful though, you may end up on my Top 5 “B**ch-ass Muthaf**kas Who Post B**ch sh*t” list.

(AllHipHop News) Representatives for incarcerated rapper Max B. have denied reports on the net that his appeal was denied.
A variety of outlets have reported that Max, born Charly Wingate, would remain jailed until November 9, 2042.
DJ Next, CEO of Amalgam Digital, the recording home for forthcoming Max B albums, reached out to AllHipHop.com to clarify the situation.
“We will have the official word on Max B’s appeal in April,” Next told AllHipHop.com.
Max also forwarded a statement to AllHipHop.com in regards to the issue.
“This was just a test from God. A battle cry..a call to arms,” Max B. told AllHipHop.com. “I’m bullet proof. And I’m coming out on my grown man s**t.”
Earlier this year, in an exclusive interview with AllHipHop.com, Max B explained the details on a multi-album deal he signed with Amalgam Digital in 2008.
“The official album is Vigilante Season. I did a three album deal with Joe and Next. They came to me in ’08. We wrapped up the albums. There’s a lot of music in the cut. They’ll consult with me and probably throw one or two, maybe three artists on the albums that’s coming out in the future to expand the album and the sound.”
(AllHipHop News) Self-proclaimed “King of the Streets” Trae the Truth is teaming up with the “King of the South,” T.I.
Trae announced via MTV’s Rap Fix Live that he was signing with the Atlanta based Grand Hustle imprint.
“I’d Like To Welcome The Newest Member of The Grand Hustle Family “Trae Tha Truth” Yall Follow Him @Traeabn,” T.I. told his fans via Twitter.
Trae pleasantly surprised the online world with the announcement.
“The thing that kinda made me way more comfortable is he reached out more on a partner note to where it wasn’t about money. It wasn’t about none of that,” Trae the Truth said in an interview with MTV Rap Fix Live. “It was about, ‘Look – we can team up or even if you’re doing your own thing, I’m just supporting what you got going. I want to see you make it.'”
ABN Renegadez’s Welcome To The Streets hits the streets March 27th.
“We’re gonna work alongside each other for a common goal and release this Trae tha Truth project,” T.I. said of the deal with Trae. “When cats [who are] cut from a certain cloth give their word and shake their hand, that’s what makes it a done deal — the ink is just a formality.”
R&B heartthrob Trey Songz is featured in the new issue of GQ magazine, which is on newsstands now.
In the feature, titled “Trey Songz Gets It On,” the singer discusses his upcoming album Chapter V, as well as his approach to singing and songwriting.
Trey said he was aiming to replicate the success of soul legend Marvin Gaye.
“I could make a hundred ‘Bottoms Up’s,’ but they won’t change nobody’s life,” Trey told GQ. “Marvin Gaye sang love songs to a certain point, and then it was like ‘F*ck this, I’m not clean-cut no more. I’m putting this skully on… I’m doing whatever the f*ck I wanna do.”

VIBE: You’ve said before that you didn’t really have fun recording Pink Friday.
Nicki Minaj: I felt like I had something to prove to everyone who said a female rapper could not make an album unless she was talking about her pu$$y. And so I went above and beyond to prove that I could not talk about sex and not talk about my genitalia and still have a successful album. And I proved that. And now my time for proving things to my critics is over. I don’t really need to prove anything to anyone else anymore.
Is it still hard to get your way as a woman in this industry?
It’s not hard to get your way when it’s your way or the highway. People either follow suit or they’re not around. I don’t really like the sound of that, ‘cause that sounds like a temper tantrum. I’m just very black and white when it comes to my business. There’s really no gray area. I really don’t have a lot of small talk with people I work with. It’s pretty much let’s get the job done. In the beginning, if people didn’t know me they’d probably assume I wasn’t smart or wasn’t business savvy. But once you sit and talk to me, it’s a different story.
You were heavy on the fashion scene last year around Fashion Week with Anna Wintour. Do you feel like you’ve been accepted by the fashion world?
Yeah, I realized more recently that even if it’s for a fashion magazine, I’m not gonna change who I am. When I was doing photo shoots last year, I kept on being told, “This is what we want your hair to look like and this is what we want you to look like,” and it really, really stifled my creativity. So the other day I was talking to a photographer, and he said, “You know what, I like your everyday looks so much better than when you do photo shoots for magazines.” And I was like, “So do I, you’re absolutely right.” I’d been getting more and more frustrated for a while.
But I’ve made up my mind that when you see a Nicki Minaj magazine cover from now on, it’s really going to reflect me and it’s going to be something that I creatively had a hand in, because I don’t have to do it anymore. I don’t have to do things just to please people. It’s okay to do what I love because what I love, my fans love. And they’re really the only ones that should matter. The fashion world will have to come to Nicki Minaj, as opposed to Nicki Minaj trying to go to the fashion world.
(AllHipHop News) Police have positively identified a man who was killed outside of Rick Ross’ Miami Gardens home this morning.
According to reports, Gregory Paul Nesbitt, 39, was the man killed.
Police responded to calls of shots fired near the home and found Nesbitt had been shot multiple times, just inside of a gate connected to the property, which Rick Ross owns.
Police are still trying to determine why Nesbitt was at the residence and as of press time there are no suspects or a motive in the shooting.
“They do have neighbors that did hear some gunshots,” Miami Gardens Police spokesman Sgt. Bill Bamford told The Huffington Post. “They are talking to them to see what they heard and when they heard it, and hopefully put the pieces of this puzzle together and find out who killed this man.”
Although Rick Ross was not home during the shooting, police are seeking to question the rapper about the murder.
Rick Ross does not reside at the address, but he uses the Miami Gardens residence as a recording studio, where friends also live.
Happy Birthday, Ja Rule! For the first time in four years (because it’s a leap year), Ja Rule is able to celebrate his birthday on its actual day — February 29th! Unfortunately for Ja, he’s in prison.
The folks over at TMZ have gotten their hands on today’s prison menu at the New York State Prison where Ja Rule is serving his 2-year sentence for gun possession. Take a look at the grub Ja will be consuming today on what is only his 9th official birthday.
For breakfast, Ja Rule scarfed down on some corn flakes. He had Jamaican patties for lunch, and tonight, he will be dining on turkey stew for dinner. Doesn’t sound too bad for prison food.
Happy 36th Birthday, Ja Rule!

Even though Diddy is rumored to be getting it in with Cameron Diaz, has Cassie at his beck-and-call and has Kim Porter at home raising his three kids…the Bad Boy still wants that old thing back!
According to US Weekly, Diddy and Jennifer Lopez were chatting at an Oscar after party and some ear hustler overheard their conversation. According the the source, J.Lo was overheard apologizing to Diddy for not returning his calls or text messages. Diddy didn’t seem to mind and had a huge smile on his face.
The two famously dated from 1999 to 2001, and infamously broke up after Diddy got caught up in a nightclub shooting in NYC. Diddy was reportedly heartbroken over the break-up and since Jennifer is single again, I can see these two hooking back up in the near future.

SIGNS THE WORLD IS COMING TO AN END
There haven’t been too many “signs” on the site, but there are some we have to report for you and they are CRAZY!
Peep this one:
This week, 19 people were arrested in an online sex sting. One of the men was actively seeking a h##### to give home a disease. YES! A man wanted a VD from a prostitute. This man, Eugene Agbebaku, a 32-year old man, was looking to pay a woman to have sex with him without the use of a condom. YES! And on top of that, he’s married with kids. YES! He’s a UPS driver and admitted to police that he gets the hookers on the hook about 3-4 times a week…without those things that stop venereal disease.
A 14-year Kills Mother Because She WOULD NOT LET HIM JOIN A GANG!
This is the craziest story of the day, I’d say. Very sad. A mother tries to stop the streets from having her son and her son shoots her multiple times with a 12-guage shot gun.
