Nas Gets Political, Encourages Youth To Vote

(AllHipHop News) Queensbridge rapper Nas is making sure young people understand the importance of voting in a new Public Service Announcement that was released today (October 2).

Nas has teamed with Ourtime.org, a national nonprofit organization based in Washington D.C., dedicated to empowering America’s youth.

“The future of this country is in the hands of the young people,” Nas said. “We have the power. We can go to the polls in droves. We can go there in droves to get the person we want, we can do that.”

The release of Nas’ PSA comes just one day before the Presidential debates that will take place between current President Barack Obama and his competitor, Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney.

The debates are slated to take place tomorrow (October 3) at the University of Denver, in Denver Colorado from 9:00PM-10:30 PM Eastern standard time.

The debates will be broadcast live on ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC and C-Span, among other cable service providers.

Nas said that participating in the last presidential election gave him a sense of power that he hadn’t felt, prior to becoming a registered voter.

“Now that I’ve voted I feel so much power that I didn’t feel before,” Nas said. “I feel like I got power, like what I say matters,” Nas said.

KeKe Palmer Releases Self-Titled EP, Features Kevin McCall

Triple-threat, singer, actor, and dancer KeKe Palmer is back on the music scene with her latest self-titled EP. The set features seven original tracks, and even features R&B newcomer Kevin McCall.

Via the internet, Palmer has released two buzz singles – “You Got Me” featuring McCall and “Dance Alone”. The mixtape acts as a show of growth, as this is far from her role as “True Jackson” on Nickelodeon, and five years after her debut album So Uncool.

KeKe is also set to star in a Lifetime original movie, Abducted: The Carlina White Story. The film is based on the true life story of Carlina White, a girl who solved her own kidnapping mystery and reunites herself with her birth parents after 23 years.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Fat Joe Says 50 Cent Whispered Something “Gentleman Like” in His Ear

Where they do that at?! Just kidding! It looks like among all that violence that took place at the 2012 BET Hip-Hop Awards, some good came out of it as well. 50 Cent and Fat Joe finally squashed their beef as they were preparing to go onstage for a special tribute for their late manager, Chris “Baby Chris” Lighty.

In a recent interview with Philly’s HOT 107.9, Fat Joe explained what exactly made him end his beef with 50 Cent…and it has to do with 50 whispering something “gentleman like” in his ear. Alrighty, then. I’ll let Fat Joe explain that one. Check out what he said below:

“While we was there, 50 whispered some thing in my ear that was gentleman like,” said Joe. “I’m a gentleman, I don’t dislike people. I’m one of the most loveable dudes in Hip-Hop, believe it or not. So he just said the right things man were, you know, and then a handshake [was] involved and that was that. Two grown men to say, Yo, this if for Chris Lighty, this is for Hip-Hop, let’s move on with our lives.”

“The same guy who discovered him discovered me, Chris Lighty. And Chris Lighty I owe him everything because I used to hustle big time in the Bronx. Out of 5o of us I’m the only one [that] got away cause I got legit. Everybody else got like 75 years in jail, God bless ’em. So he literally saved me life.”

All jokes aside, I’m glad to see these two finally resolve their issues. You can catch the Chris Lighty tribute on the BET Hip-Hop Awards on October 9 on BET. Aside from 50 Cent and Fat Joe, the tribute also features performances from Missy Elliott and A Tribe Called Quest.

EXCLUSIVE: CTE Rapper 2Eleven Speaks on Fight with Game; Says Game “Sucker Punched” Him

(AllHipHop News) CTE affiliate and Inglewood, California rapper 2Eleven spoke with AllHipHop.com to share the details of an altercation with Game, at Lil Wayne’s birthday party last week in Hollywood.

Although the skirmish was caught on tape, details about what set off the altercation are scarce, so 2Eleven decided to clear the air.

According to an article on September 29th published by TMZ , Game was in Hollywood Thursday night (September 25th) with Chris Brown, Sean Kingston and Lil’ Wayne, when 2Eleven reportedly approached Game and “started talking smack.”

2Eleven says things went down much differently than TMZ reported and says that he never approached Game to begin fighting.

“So I had seen one of my homies, I went to catch him. I walk out the section right, I take five steps outside the section and someone comes and hits me from the back of my head,” 2Eleven told AllHipHop.com.

“I turn around and I could see the security like on the way, so I tried to get one off on him,” 2Eleven said. “There wasn’t no fight, no words. From what I heard and what I heard on the internet it’s like I ran up to him and had some words. But man there wasn’t no words. Why would I run up to a n**ga that 6’5” with two armed bodyguards with him, talking some s**t, with me and my young homie. I’m not even that kind of dude my n**ga.

“I sit back and play the cut, I’m on these b**ches. Plus we at Wayne’s private party, like c’mon man, you just on some n***a s**t,” 2Eleven explained.

The two rappers have had well-known issues in the past, that stem from a late September 2011 incident.

2Eleven reportedly filmed Jomo “Rosemo700″ Zambia, an associate of Waka Flocka’s 1017 Brick Squad movement, attacking fellow Inglewood rapper Boskoe.

In addition to his beef with Boskoe, RoseMo also reportedly had previous beef with Game, after a confrontation in Fox Hills Mall in Culver City, as the rapper was shopping with his son.

Tragically RoseMo was killed just months after he posted videos of himself bragging about knocking out Game in that same incident, although police have not found any links to Game whatsoever stating that Game is not a suspect in the RoseMo homicide case.

At the time of press, 2Eleven has said that he will not press charges for being allegedly hit in the back of the head.

Solange Premieres “Losing You” Video, Set in South Africa

Due to her unique personality and underground sense of style, you’re almost starting to forget that 26-year-old Solange Knowles is the younger sister of current R&B/Pop icon, Beyonce. But that’s just the icing on the cake as Solange releases a video for her much buzzed about single “Losing You”.

Since her move to Brooklyn, New York, just over a year ago, the R&B singer has served as a party DJ, and even as the face of Rimmel London, a popular cosmetics brand in England. Though she’s focused on other ventures outside of music, it looks like Ms. Knowles hasn’t forgot her first love – music.

The video, set in South Africa, is directed by Melina Matsoukas.

T-Boz’s Life As Single Mother To Be Chronicled In “Totally T-Boz” For Cable Channel TLC

(AllHipHop News) TLC group member Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins has landed a new reality series titled “Totally T-Boz.”

The new docu-series follows T-Boz’ personal life, her singing career and her life as a single mother with her Tween daughter Chase Anela Rolison.

T-Boz, who was married to Mack 10,  filed for a second bankruptcy in 2011, in part because of an enormous, $250,000, child support bill that the rapper had not paid.

But her filing was rejected, since she failed to complete the necessary paperwork, leaving a healthy portion of her assets exposed to creditors.

Ironically, T-Boz’ new series will air on cable network TLC. The reality series is expected to debut in early 2013.

Birdman Discusses Bow Wow’s New Role As Host of 106 & Park

(AllHipHop News) Cash Money Records CEO Bryan “Birdman” Williams weighed in on Bow Wow’s new job as host of BET’s#### countdown series “106 & Park.”

Bow Wow, who is an artist or Cash Money Records, was named host of the countdown series earlier today (October 1), replacing former hosts Rocsi Diaz and Terrence J.

The move is a natural one for Bow Wow, who has more appearances than any other artist, in the program’s 12-year history.

“Bow has this in the bag! In addition to being a great rapper, he is a natural personality with great star power and style,” Bryan “Birdman” Williams told AllHipHop.com. “He brings a new air to the network and my brother ‘Slim’ and I couldn’t be more proud. This is another great example of YMCMB expanding our presence in the television and film world.”

Bow Wow will host the show with new personalities Ms. Mykie, Paigon, and Shorty Da Prince.

“I’m all about branding myself not just in music—but on TV and in movies,” Bow Wow said. “Everyone always wanted to compare me to the Fresh Prince, well now they can call me The Fresh Prince of 106 & Park. Get ready for a whole new world.”

Bow Wow, who has sold over 12 million records throughout his career, is slated to drop his new album Underrated on Cash Money Records in the near future.

Lil Scrappy Arrested For Probation Violation

(AllHipHop News) Lil Scrappy was arrested today for violating the terms of his probation, according to reports.

TMZ reports the rapper was arrested and handcuffed for violating probation over a marijuana charge in 2008.

The 28-year-old rapper was taken away by police on the side of an unnamed road.

The rapper is presently on probation and cannot use any marijuana or alcohol. At the time, he was ordered to serve 240 hours of community service.

He was booked at the DeKalb County Jail.

Last night, Jay-Z played his third of eight shows at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY, and he took a moment to address the haters that question his actual percentage of the Brooklyn Nets. Check out what he said below:

“I look in the paper and I see them talking’he only owns 1/15th of…first of I don’t know where they get that number from. But I’m cool with it. I know it’s not about me it’s about y’all. It’s not personal to me. They know if you see me standing here, they know it’s possible to achieve great things and will continue to do so. Don’t let anybody diminish your accomplishments. It’s our motherf**king time now.”

During his speech, Jigga also went on to big up the accomplishments of Jackie Robinson, and said that it is no coincidence that he had something to do with bringing an NBA franchise to his hometown of BK.

Hip-Hop Rumor Exclusive: Is K.Michelle From “LAHH Atlanta” Getting A Big Head Already?

It looks like R&B singer, K. Michelle, of “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” fame, has already gotten a big head and hasn’t even really accomplished anything yet! Last night, K. Michelle was scheduled to perform at the Vybe Nation and 95.7 The Beat show at the Straz Center in downtown Tampa, FL when she refused to go onstage.

According to our source, K.Michelle was miffed that she was going to perform before platinum artist Lyfe Jennings and refused to go onstage.

A few local artists warmed up the crowd, and everything was going well. When it was time for K. Michelle to come out, she decided that she was too big of a star to go on before Lyfe Jennings. After a good 45 minutes of a dark stage and an angry and booing crowd, Lyfe Jennings came out and shut it down. He let the crowd know that K. Michelle was there, and just didn’t want to go on for some reason.

Everyone backstage was arguing with her trying to convince her to perform.  She got paid, so that wasn’t an issue. Then the plan was for her to come out after Lyfe Jennings, just to say hello to the crowd and let them know was in the building. But at that point, any mention of her name and the crowd was booing. She ended up leaving the venue. The crowd was left not knowing what was going on.

Damn, K.Michelle! How are you on it like that already!

Lyfe Jennings heard about the issue and tweeted the message below to his followers:

(AllHipHop News) Rapper T.I. teamed with Grey Goose Cherry Noir and his AKOO Clothing line, to host the 2nd Annual “A King of Oneself” brunch.

T.I.’s annual event took place on Sunday (September 30), the day after the BET Hip-Hop Awards, in the rap star’s hometown of Atlanta.

The early Sunday afternoon brunch featured a variety of guests, including Tiny, Nelly, Trae Tha Truth, Ed Lover, Jazze Pha and others.

Hip-Hop Rumors: AUDIO – Gunplay Calls 50 Cent A “Donkey” And Reveals Fight Details

More details are emerging about the Gunplay-jumping in the parking lot during the 2012 BET Hip-Hop Awards over the weekend. The MMG artist called into the Power 105.1 Breakfast Club morning show and revealed details about his altercation with 50 Cent and his posse of “donkeys.”

According to Gunplay, 50 Cent and eight men jumped him and stole his chain before the police got involved and pepper sprayed him. You can check out the footage from the fight here.

Check out what Gunplay told the morning show below:

First of all, I’m not going to say the donkey’s name [referring to 50] because I’m not going to ruin a career already ruined. We are gonna call him donkey because he’s the donkey of the day. The donkey walks over with 8 other donkeys. I was about to go catch my ride and police told me I couldn’t leave the trailers. I turn around and see the donkey with 8 more donkeys and it was either me jump the barriers and run, or stand, pull up my pants and knuckle it out with the donkeys. So he walks up to me with about 8 donkeys, he nods to one of the donkeys to set it off and we rumbled. I stood up in the paint like a real G is suppose to with five bodyguards that is trained to kill a human with one finger.

I kinda lost my footing and I got back up. It was rumbling, rumbling and then the pepper spray came.

When asked if it was 50 Cent’s G-Unit crew (i.e. Tony Yayo and company) that was involved in the fight, he cleared that up and said it was just a bunch of security.

“That man had security with him. I was by myself like I usually am. The police wouldn’t let me out of the trailer park little area [because of the incident with Jeezy and Rick Ross]. I ended up in handcuffs.

Listen, ain’t nobody touching MMG man. Ain’t nobody touching me. My face is fine. N-ccas is donkeys and as you can see, the last wildebeest in the pack of buffalo, I latched on to him and let him know. If this had happened in Miami, everyone would have been laid out.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Video – MGK Versus Microsoft? Rapper Says “F*ck These Computers”

Machine Gun Kelly is really a wild boy, and unfortunately, it looks like he just ruined a corporate relationship with computer giant Microsoft. The Bad boy was hired to perform at the Microsoft store at Atlanta’s Lenox Mall on Friday for The Source magazine’s Power 30 Issue, and he went H.A.M. during his performance.

During his performance, the rapper began jumping on tables in the store which housed brand new and expensive computers and laptops. MGK ignored the pleas of the Microsoft staff to get down, and instead hit them with the middle finger and said:

“Suck my d*ck, I’m up in this motherf*cker. MGK in this b*tch. F*ck these computers.”

After about 40 seconds into his first song and after stomping on at least five computers, the staff cut off his music and his mic.

Jay-Z Opens The Barclays Center, Unveils Brooklyn Nets Jersey

(AllHipHop News) Rap mogul Jay-Z opened the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York over the weekend, where he kicked off an eight-date concert series.

The rapper hit the stage on Friday (September 28) and has performed three of the eight sold out shows that take place over the course of this month in the new arena, which also houses Jay’s 40/40 Club.

Over 18,000 people attended the concert at The Barclays Center, where Jay-Z also sported the new Brooklyn Nets jersey.

The rapper went through his deep catalog of hits, while paying homage to Brooklyn-raised rapper Big Daddy Kane, who hit the stage with the Jay-Z on the opening.

Jay-Z’s concerts at The Barclays Center will wind down on October 6.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Is There A “Cruel Winter” On The Way?

G.O.O.D. Music artist Q-Tip, who was suspiciously missing from the G.O.O.D. Music compilation album, Cruel Summer, just revealed that there may be another G.O.O.D. Music compilation album on the way. During an interview with Rob Markman from MTV News on the BET Hip-Hop Awards red carpet over the weekend, Q-Tip spilled the beans about the upcoming secret project.

“I have to let the cat out of the bag… Kanye’s probably going to get…,” Q-Tip said, before pausing to call over fellow G.O.O.D. Music rapper Pusha T. “I gotta let the cat out of the bag. Am I going to get in trouble? If there’s a Cruel Summer, then there’s gotta be a Cruel Winter, right?”
