OK, Im sure I am going to catch flack for this, but I have to call Montell Jordan the Epic Fail of the Day. Why? Ill explain in a second. Here is the news, Montell was a highly regarded singer on Def Jam Reocrds and scored a major hit in the 90s with “This Is How We Do It.” We all loved that song. That song was an anthem on colleges and strip clubs alike. He went platinum and sold well. Then the spotlight went away. Now hes been recording and even dropped a solo album in 2008, which was ignored by everybody if they even knew it came out. Now, Montell has found it in his heart to announce his retirement to the world and has said that hell perform “This Is How We Do It one last time on New Years Eve 2010. Hes now a born-again Christian and seeks to b a full time pastor at an Atlanta area church. Hmmmmm .but this is how he is going into his ministry? Well, I am not one to judge ok I am sometimes, but this just strikes me as bizarre. Its like a soon-to-be married man smashing a hoe to get one more in right before living right with his wife. I guess, I dont get why it has to be so much fanfare around it. Go do the right thing and be a preacher. My play a lil game of getting some attention right before you do the right thing? HMPH! Everybodys a media w#### these days!
One last time, yall
Good luck, Minister Montell! No hate from me, just some questions. Dont swig a 40 oz that night for old times sake!
MINISTER MONTELL, WE LOVE YOU! They keep us talking, but if we stop talking about them then they should worry!

Legendary producer Quincy Jones made headlines around the world last week, when he dismissed a comparison to Kanye West as a producer. Jones made the controversial statements during an interview with US Weekly last week, when the magazine said that Kanye West was similar to Jones due to the fact that everyone wants to work with the Hip-Hop producer.
“Did he write for a symphony orchestra? Does he write for a jazz orchestra? Come on, man. He’s just a rapper,” Quincy Jones said when being compared to Kanye West. “There’s no comparison. I’m not putting him down or making a judgement or anything, but we come from two different sides of the planet. I spent 28 years learning my first skill. I don’t rap. It’s not the same thing. A producer has to have some sort of skills that enable him to be a producer. It’s totally different to know what to do with 16 woodwinds you know from piccolos down to bass clarinet. It’s a whole different mindset. No comparison. None .I don’t think about him much. He’s a great rapper, but there are a lot of good rappers.”
Did Quincy Jones go too far in his assessment of Kanye West? For the record, Quincy Jones denied he was bashing Kanye West and said he thought of the rapper/producer as a “little brother.”
Super producer Just Blaze has also been behind some of the decade’s most memorable Hip-Hop records. Check out his thoughts on the Quincy/Kanye Controversy.

Just Dizle is the French DJ that proclaims himself “Le Champion.” The moniker is fitting with a listen to his latest mixtape. “The Infamous Mobb Deep Mix” sounds simple, but it serves as a cold splash of water to a forgetful Hip-Hop Nation. This sobering reminder reacquaints fans with The Infamous Mobb Deep, comprised of Havoc and Prodigy. With P in jail on weapons charges, the group has been on hold, but he’s soon to be released. For the past several years, Hip-Hop artists across the country have held events that encouraged safe sex and the importance of continuously being tested for HIV/AIDS. Artists like Plies, Twista, Yung Problemz, Yung L.A., Keith Murray, Ludacris, Jamie Foxx, Bun B., Gorilla Zoe, Common and countless others have campaigned in the Hip-Hop community to help stop the spread of the deadly disease amongst teenagers and young adults. The rapper’s have used many tactics, including giving away free tickets to concerts to encourage testing, created PSA’s, and viral campaigns on social networks to get their fans tested for HIV/AIDS.The Center for Disease Control provided AllHipHop.com with recent stats on the eve of World Aids Day, which takes place annually on December 1st. According to the CDC, the number of adults tested for HIV reached a record high in 2009. Last year 82.9 million adults between the ages of 18-64 reported getting tested for HIV. That’s a total increase of 11.4 million people since 2006, when the CDC recommended that HIV testing become a routine part of medical care for young people and adults. Todays news shows that we have had progress increasing testing, and that more progress is both necessary and possible, said Thomas R. Frieden, M.D., M.P.H., CDC director. With most adults and with nearly a third of high-risk people having never been tested for HIV, we need to do more to ensure that all Americans have access to voluntary, routine and early HIV testing in order to save lives and reduce the spread of this terrible disease.HIV isnt his problem or her problem. Its all of our problem, said Ludacris, who headed up the “I Know” HIV/AIDS Awareness campaign with the CDC earlier this year. The facts are clear. African-Americans, especially young people are being devastated by HIV and AIDS,” Ludacris said. “But there is something we can all do about it. We can and must talk about HIV. So break the silence by having a conversation. Send a text. Update your status. Post this video. Talk about HIV and what we can do to prevent it.More information from the CDC is below: The December Vital Signs report indicates that the percentage of adults who had been tested at least once in their lives increased to 45 percent in 2009, after holding steady at approximately 40 percent from 2001 to 2006. CDC estimates that 1.1 million adults are living with HIV and that as many as one in five of these individuals (approximately 200,000 Americans) does not know that they are infected. Reducing the number of undiagnosed infections is a critical component of HIV prevention, as most sexually transmitted HIV infections in the United States are transmitted by people who are unaware of their infection. Research shows that once people learn they are infected, most take steps to protect their partners. Furthermore, people who are diagnosed earlier have longer life expectancies because they can benefit from HIV care and treatment. The Vital Signs report also highlights surveillance data showing that many people with HIV are diagnosed too late in their infection to take full advantage of effective treatment options and protect their partners from infection. In the 37 states with long-standing, confidential, name-based HIV reporting systems, 32 percent of people diagnosed with HIV in 2007 progressed to AIDS within 12 months, indicating a late diagnosis and missed opportunities for treatment. CDC is working with health care providers and state and local public health agencies to continue increasing access to routine HIV testing during medical visits, while also expanding community-based HIV testing programs that reach people outside of health care settings. This summer, the White House announced the National HIV/AIDS Strategy, which includes the goal of increasing the proportion of HIV-infected individuals who are aware of their HIV status to 90 percent. Consistent with this goal, in 2010 CDC provided $60 million to support HIV testing efforts in 30 of Americas jurisdictions most heavily impacted by HIV. The funding allows CDC and its partners to expand a successful three-year initiative to increase access to HIV testing among African-Americans, Latinos, men who have sex with men, and injection drug users. (AllHipHop News) Master P. is considering legal action against a woman in Tennessee who is using his name and the name of Corey “C-Murder” Miller to promote a bogus organization named the Corey Miller Food Foundation. State officials are requesting a federal investigation into a woman named Alisa R. Harris, who runs the organization. Harris, who lives in a boarding house in Memphis, is allegedly operating a series of websites claiming to be affiliated with both Master P. and Corey Miller, who is currently appealing a life sentence for allegedly murdering a 16-year-old in 2002. The websites also list a number of official state organizations that are allegedly in partnership with Harris, who claims that she hires ex-felons and welfare recipients at $10 an hour. Her “workers” then use their cell-phones to solicit cash donations for the organization. “This is crazy, she needs to be stopped,” Master P. told Memphis’ Action News 5. An Action News 5 investigation revealed that Harris doesn’t have a license to solicit in the state, although her 2009 tax returns list an income of more than $150,000. Harris’ presentations and her legitimate tax status resulted in a relationship with an official partner of the Tennessee Community Services Agency, who referred workers to her organization. According to Harris’ own admission, she has hired over 116 ex-felons or welfare recipients for the telephone jobs, through referrals. “Within 30 days of our relationship with her, things started to pop up that didn’t seem right,” Meredith Hennessy told Action News 5. “We severed our ties with her, and we’ll be working to remove our name from anything that she is affiliated with.”Master P. was adamant that he never met Harris a day in his life. “I have never met her,” said Master P. “Don’t know who she is .just to have somebody use your name and don’t even know you, it’s not even fair,” Master P. lamented.
