Industry Mogul Devyne Stephens to Honor Polow Da Don, Dr. J in Atlanta

(AllHipHop News) Devyne Stephens, CEO of Upfront Megatainment, a management and artist development powerhouse, is hosting his 4th annual holiday gala, “This Christmas.”

The event is one of the most-anticipated and star-studded holiday galas to take place in Atlanta every year, with attendees including Kelly Rowland, Usher, Keri Hilson, and Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed.

A noted philanthropist and entertainment mogul, Stephens has dedicated the last two years to raising funds for his foundation, Devyne Intervention, which inspires and supports the positive development of youth through the power of music.

Stephens states, “After seeing, firsthand, the impact that music artists have on today’s youth, I knew creating music-focused programs was the best way for me to give back. Our programs support artistic initiatives that build self-esteem and confidence and develop skills that can be used in education, the community or the workplace.”

Stephens continues, “The annual holiday gala and fundraiser is one of the most important fundraiser efforts our foundation continues to host. Money raised this year will go towards music and art programs we have planned for 2012.”

This year, the annual gala will honor influential figures that have made a huge impact in the areas of entertainment, sports, and media. Honorees include Grammy award-winning, multi-platinum producer, Polow Da Don; Vice President of Writer and Publisher Relations in Atlanta division of BMI, Catherin Brewton; basketball legend, Julius “Dr. J” Erving; and national news anchor, Monica Pearson.

This Christmas Holiday Gala takes place tonight (December 22) at Atlanta’s prestigious Woodruff Arts Center. Proceeds will benefit Devyne Intervention.

Mims Releases Interactive "Open Bars" Mix CD

(AllHIpHop News) New York rapper Mims is releasing a fully interactive mix CD titled “Open Bars,” that features Travis Porter, Gudda Gudda, Lex Luger, OB and Jovi Rockwell.

The compilation, which integrates unsigned artists and producers, received thousands of entrants over the course of the contest.

American King Music & Living Good, Digiwaxx Media and AllHipHop.com participated in the campaign.

Entrants submitted verses and beats to unfinished MIMS tracks, with a panel of seasoned music industry executives selecting the best for each song.

Five of the songs became viral videos and garnered over 5 million views online.

“My team created something that others in the industry are now following,” said MIMS. “Other major label signed artists have taken notice and are applying the same strategies used to create awareness and contests for their music. It’s a great thing to be an originator and at the forefront of embracing the independent movement.”

Daily Word: Only If You Believe!!

Happy Thursday, my creatures of greatness!

Today’s Daily Word is dedicated to your belief system! Life is bad, difficult, awful, and a waste of time!! Yes!! If that’s what you believe! Life is easy, enjoyable, exciting, and worth every second!! Yes!!…if that’s your thought process!!

Your dreams are impossible, improbable, and non-attainable!! Yup!! If you say so!! Your dreams are attainable, achievable and, in many cases, already yours!! Precisely!! If that’s how you see it!  There are those who believe they can, and those who believe they can’t!! Both are right!! Your life is an exact reflection of what you believe! Believe in gloom and doom, and that’s exactly what you will get!

Believe in miracles, then you will see them all around you! Stop saying one thing, believing another, then getting upset or confused when your beliefs come true! Life has always been and will always be what you make it!! Make it great!! Make it enjoyable!! Make it everything you’ve ever imagined!! You are your biggest opponent!! Get out of your way and live life!!! NOTHING CAN STOP YOU BUT YOU!! -Ash’Cash

“What matters is not the idea a man holds, but the depth at which he holds it.” -Ezra Pound

“If you believe you can, you probably can. If you believe you won’t, you most assuredly won’t. Belief is the ignition switch that gets you off the launching pad.” -Denis Waitley

“You can have anything you want if you will give up the belief that you can’t have it.” -Dr. Robert Anthony

“Nothing splendid has ever been achieved except by those who dared believe that something inside of them was superior to circumstances.” -Bruce Barton

“Within you right now is the power to do things you never dreamed possible. This power becomes available to you just as you can change your beliefs.” -Unknown

“For those who believe, no proof is necessary. For those who don’t believe, no proof is possible.” -Stuart Chase

“Some things have to be believed to be seen.” -Ralph Hodgson

“When you believe “I can do it,” the “how to do it” develops.” -David Schwartz

“Others believing in you is nice but worthless if not matched by your own thought.” -Scott Moore

Epic Win of the Day: David Banner Breaks Down V-Nasty!

V-NASTY HAD TO THE NERVE TO DISS DAVID BANNER

V-Nasty…why am I talking about her? I don’t know. But I am, because David Banner’s name was mentioned. David Banner in true form, breaks it down and educates on top of it all. As you know, V-Nasty has been adamant in using the N-Word, even though the masses of Black people seem to be against her using it.

#SwayInTheMorning and had the opportunity to give him his first listen of V-Nasty’s “Diss” against him on her Gucci Mane collab BAYTL. The Oakland rappers says, “How a white b***h more hood than David Banner.” Check it out.

Shout out to Sway and Devi Dev!
