Hip-Hop Rumors: Wale’s Not A Homophobe! Rick Ross Rumors! Feeway is CLEAR!

WALE TO PLAY FOR THE GHEYS!

I don’t know exactly what got into Wale, but he has decided to do the Gay Pride event in Washington D.C. Peep the tweets!

The Pink Mafia is powerful!

FREEWAY IS CLEAR!

Freeway, the Philly rapper, probably didn’t have to give Ricky Ross nothing, but a couple snaps on the petro. I’m hearing that he’s in the clear with the infamous transporter of drugs during the Reagan era. From what I have been told, Freeway is cool and he even offered to support Freeway Rick in anyway he can ($). Ricky respected it and there is no beef there at all. I guess that interview is a bit old. Anyway, Freeway Rick is in ATL this weekend making an appearance at a big memorial day concert down there. Maybe he and  RAWSE can end this.

SCARFACE – DETOX AND HABITS

Shout out to my homeboy Prince Kennedy! He talked to the legendary Scarface last week and got some real deal info out of the Geto Boy. First of all, Face is working on a new song with Dr. Dre that is supposed to be on  Detox. I know people are hateful towards Detox rumors at this point, but I  have to say it. Face says he won’t be using Dre beats though, because they are too costly. But, Scarface is also working on his new album called The Habit. Face is producing that album mostly by himself.

MORE DETOX – SCOTT STORCH TALKS

Scott sheds some light on the situation. He said he’s out West working on Detox…like he told AHH like…last year!!!!! LOL! Scott says Dre is looking for 3 more songs to finish the album. HUH!? It’s been over 10 years! Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeearrrgh!

COMMON AND SERENA CALL IT A WRAP?

Like I said, when I don’t believe something, I’ll say that. So I don’t think this one is true. But ever since Common has been pushing this new movie with Queen Latifah, there’s been no Serena. In fact, they haven’t been seen together at all. The most recent is that they aren’t even a couple any more. This may be good news for Hip-Hop fans. We really need Common to get back on track with his music and leave the rest of the BS on the backburner. I am in no way calling Serena BS….we need that Common Sense back though, son!

JIM JONES AND MEEK MILLS PART 2

It would seem that Jim was mostly offering his wisdom to Meek on the stage. My sources that were right there said for some reason security was called in. Maybe they were just overzealous. See the vid below.

Check it out right here.

RICK ROSS RUMORS!

Rick Ross has an EP coming out called The Albert Anastasia EP, which comes out tomorrow, but that’s not the point. Remember that Kool G Rap signings rumor I told you about? It looks like its still in the works. See the track listing and you will see “Knife Fight,” a song with KGR. Hmmmmmm….interesting.  My sources tell me they are  trying to work something out as far as a deal, but nothing is for certain.

ALFAMEGA’S…TALKING STILL

Some person caught up with Alfamega at his house.  I mean, there’s 8 min of talking here…but not much of an interview. He calls ATL “GayTL.” LOL! What a riot this Alfamega is. There is an impassioned plea to a person named “n***a” but it sounds like he’s talking to T.I.

ILLSEED’S QUICKIES

Kendra isn’t divorced yet. The sex tape is in the streets.

Lil Romeo is dating Kaitlin Najjar, the daughter one of the housewives of Atlanta. I give up.

Dwyane Wade’s estranged wife Siohvaughn has gone through her 9th lawyer. D.Wade may have done the right thing!

Contrary to rumors, Rocko and Monica haven’t gotten back together. Yet.

EPIC FAIL OF THE DAY

Really? So this is where we are?

A “teacher” in North Georgia allowed four of her students to wear Ku Klux Klan outfits to school as a final project. Not sure, but the kids were doing a film project and decided it would be necessary to wear KKK suits in the classroom. Catherine Ariemma is the name of the teacher. She thought it was good for kids to actually “see” it and it set the Black students off. She told the AP, “It was poor judgment on my part in allowing them to film at school. That was a hard lesson learned.” The film was never shown and the teacher is on leave.

EPIC WIN OF THE DAY

Ice-T talks about Solar.

SIGNS THE WORLD IS COMING TO AN END!

Damn! According to Telegraph.co.uk:

At least 30 people have now been killed during running battles between troops and heavily armed gangsters on the streets of Jamaica.

As the death toll rose in street battles between security forces and supporters of Christopher “Dudus” Coke, the Foreign Office “strongly advised” British citizens to avoid all non-essential travel in the area.

America and other European countries have also heightened warnings to their citizens over the danger in and around Kingston.

Violence has spread to other parts of the island and police have detained 211 people in their hunt for Coke, who is being protected by his supporters.

More than 1,000 police and soldiers launched an assault on Coke’s stronghold and the government has declared a state of emergency.

On the third consecutive day of violence, one of the main hospitals in Kingston had to be closed after armed gangs attacked police outside the building.

http://telegraph.co.uk/

WHY NOT? WATCH TAHIRY SWIM.

I feel so lame posting this, but it’s a slow day.

 ILLSEED’S RAP CONTEST

I’m not so big on “24” but I saw the internets went crazy for it last night since the show is coming to an end. I’m going to have to do like “Lost”  and catch up. Anyway, a group called The Invincible Bullies hit me with this song they did called “24 [Power Like Jack Bauer]” and it’s a dope dedication to the show. One dude plays Jack Bauer and the other emcee plays a terrorist. They must be big fans. Oh yeah, they supposedly have a song with Joell Ortiz? If I can, I will get a hold of that.

 “24 [Power Like Jack Bauer]”

Here is there other regular song. Its pretty dope too, “Guns-N-Butter.”

The season finale of “Law & Order” is on the way tonight so if anybody can concoct a song about it let me know. Uh, don’t go out of your way. LOL! If  you sending me songs, send me some rumors too.

WALE , WE LOVE YOU!!!

They keep us talking, but if we stop talking about them then they should worry!

Nas: The Most Dangerous MC In The World

Nas is on a whole other level, right now.

“All I do is stay focused – looking straight forward at the word, and beyond

I feel people pulling me down

I feel some pulling me up

I can’t get stuck

I just keep moving forward

I got places to go man. Let’s go”

Nas, ‘Strong Will Continue” on the ‘Distant Relatives’ album

Just one listen to Nas and Damian Marley’s new album, ‘Distant Relatives’ is enough to pick up that the Nas you are hearing today is not the same Nas you heard, just yesterday.

In just the last 2 years, Nas has experienced the birth of a newborn son; been on the front lines of the war usually led by political progressives, against Fox and Bill O’Reilly (and by default Rupert Murdoch); received increased respect (and of course flak from the fearful) for expressing admiration for the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan on an untitled track, that the streets have re-titled, ‘Louis Farrakhan.’ (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yiwoDkXz6Xs); and experienced a spectacular and very public break-up with his ex-wife, Kelis.

No one comes out of a period like that the same. They are either better or worse for it.

Simultaneously experiencing great honor, public humiliation and suffering can be the highest form of education – in terms of what you learn about yourself and those around you. When you listen to his verses on ‘Distant Relatives,’ ‘Strong Will Continue,’ ‘Patience,’ and ‘Friends,’ you feel some of Nas’ journey.

Nas appears to be in the state of mind that a great leader or entrepreneur reaches when they are prepared to take great risks. I write about it in Volume 3 of my book, The Entrepreneurial Secret, (http://theEsecret.com/) which focuses on one’s personal struggle.

While many may not realize it, ‘Distant Relatives’ is a risky album, and perhaps the boldest move Nas has ever made in his career.

When I say ‘risky’ I’m not just speaking in creative or commercial terms.

Many of you who are familiar with my writing know some of my perspective.

In 2004 I, along with Eric Canada, co-executive produced a mixtape called ‘The Streets Are Political,’ which was named by The Source magazine as ‘Mixtape of the Month.’ It developed a cult following, especially in Philly, New Jersey and New York. You can read about it here: http://www.blackelectorate.com/articles.asp?ID=1187. Through music, my words, snippets and the words of others it explained that politics was about more than elections and that all aspects of human life are ‘political.’ With that understanding I try to shed light on some of the ultimate aim of the rulers of this world and explain why the poor are oppressed.

The master of the masses

One has power

The other one lacks it

Guns are power

Controlled by assets

Owned by financial forecasters

Who are the masters?

They are the gangsters

They are the bankers

The ones who tax us

The masses

They are us

The sheep, the people

Divided in classes

Nas ‘Dispear,’ on the ‘Distant Relatives’ album

The global powers-that-be among other things, generally fear three things: 1) the Diaspora and Africa re-uniting 2) the fearless youth of the world becoming politically and spiritually conscious and 3) the poor uniting across religious, racial, geographical and ideological lines to control and pool the wealth of their nations. Perhaps the best way to prove this is to study the history and internal documents of organizations like the FBI, CIA, Mossad, British Secret Service, the KGB, French intelligence agencies (paying particular attention to their mischief-making in Africa and what Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez calls, ‘Indo-America’).

On this point, I make an appearance in the QD III documentary, ‘Letter To The President’ (http://www.blackelectorate.com/articles.asp?ID=1445) narrated by Snoop Dogg and in it I explain from documents that have been published by joint police-national security task force groups in America, their fear and belief that ‘the rapper is the spokesperson for the gang.‘ In an interview with Brother Ashahed Muhammad of The Final Call , I explain how this all relates to the FBI’s Counter Intelligence Program (COINTELPRO) and in particular an August 25, 1967 memo where they write that no political activist or individual with an ideology that was perceived as a threat to the establishment should have access to a ‘mass communication media.’

What is Hip-Hop, if not ‘mass communication media?’

In my view, some of the major goals of the global power elite or ‘the 10%’ as they are referred to in Lost-Found Muslim Lesson # 2 (the 5%, 10% and 85% concept was Authored by Master Fard Muhammad) are three things: 1) “Prevent the rise of a ‘messiah’ who could unify, and electrify, the militant black nationalist movement,” (as quoted in the March 4, 1968 FBI memo) 2) Prevent an activist, ideologue, or any revolutionary ‘gang’ from access to a mass communication media or articulate spokesperson, capable of popularizing their cause and inserting it into the cultural and political mainstream 3) To disrupt any effort to harmonize, link and connect causes, movements, and ideologies which threaten the current political, economic and spiritual world order (in this area one of the greatest fears is the re-unification of Africa and Her Diaspora in a way that disrupts America and Europe’s access to and control of natural resources in Central and South America and Africa).

In that light, how powerful, then, is ‘Distant Relatives?’

In response to my column last week, ‘Africa, The Next Throne of Hip-Hop,’ I received an email from Brian Chitundu, serving as its Interim National Youth Director, of “The Citizens Democratic Party”[www.thecitizensdemocraticparty.com] based in Zambia. The CDP is an emerging political party in this African nation of 12 million which was under British colonial rule up until its independence in 1964. In Brian’s first email he wrote to me:

“I accidentally came across your editorial today on allhiphop.com. I had somehow ended up on the site after “googling” a review of the new Nas and Damian album- Distant Relatives, and due to the theme of the album was intrigued and rather pleased to find and eventually read your aptly titled editorial.

Now I should state that our organization is in its infant stage, but has set a very strong foundation and accompanying agenda. As Youth Director I play a very pivotal role in the direction of our organization, due to the fact that we have what I may refer to as a “young nation”-the youth population takes up an unbelievable 70% of our total population. Being considerably a young leader myself, we have “unorthodox” approaches such as hip-hop to reach out to our peers. Furthermore, our organization was founded by myself and other peers of my age group, and it is only recently that we have the older generation finding their way into our leadership ranks, as we grow and expand towards being a broad-based party…I hope you have purchased yourself a copy Distant Relatives which made me write you in the first place! That album is officially a soundtrack to our organization’s youth wing – I only wish I could get in touch with Nas and Damian to let them know the motivation it has provided us with!”

In our ongoing email exchange Brian and I have been discussing my interview at Africa PreBrief on economic development (http://africaprebrief.com/pages/posts/whatrsquos-next-for-african-economic-development-and-investment-q-a-with-cedric-muhammad-founder-africaprebrief-25.php) and the current economic issues facing his country; Zambian economist Dambisa Moyo and her book, ‘Dead Aid;’ and our respective views on what may impact next year’s elections in his country.

But that very high-level discussion began with Brian Chitundu being attracted by Hip-Hop and specifically the new album from Damian Marley and Nas.

Which track on the album is influencing this young man from Zambia? Brian writes to me, “Cedric…I am stuck on ‘Tribes at War.’”

‘Tribes at War,’ is one of the album’s hottest tracks featuring an incredible verse by Somali-born rapper K’naan breaking down how civil war and in-fighting destroys families, clans, communities, and nations.

On it Nas spits:

“Man what happened to us?

Geographically they moved us

From Africa, we was once happiness-pursuers

Now we back stabbing, combative and abusive

The African and Arab go at it, they most Muslim

We should be moving in unison, disputes would end.”

*****

As I have written before, I was blessed to interact and form a relationship with Nas in the earlier stages of his career, and when we were both young in our Hip-Hop professional careers. Here is how I’ve described some of it:

I will never forget the experience of being invited in the Fall of 1995, by Nas to visit him while he was recording tracks (in November at Sony Music Studios) for his highly anticipated album, It Was Written.

We had been building for over a year since I had interviewed him for The Final Call newspaper, with me visiting him several times at his place in Long Island, first, and then Queens. When we got together it was always to discuss two subjects – his music career (the many avenues he could take in marketing himself after his first album) and the knowledge of self (we watched tapes of Minister Farrakhan and the Honorable Elijah Muhammad and discussed the Lessons). I was honored to have been a guest – meeting his then companion, Carmen (who always was so kind to me), and even his beautiful baby daughter Destiny when she was only 4 days old.

So while I would not claim to be a close friend of Nas, I can say for a nearly 18-month period we had a very Brotherly and always sober interaction (even if he did light it up a lot – smile).

That rapport and respectful interaction, and the way in which I met him, allowed me to have very serious discussions with him and which earned enough of his trust to the point that when I presented a couple of ideas regarding producers or artists I thought he should work with, or entrepreneurs he could do business deals with, he allowed me to make outreach to those camps on his behalf.

It was a very informal but forward-looking relationship which I continue to look back on fondly. He was a star then and despite many ups, downs, twists and turns he is now a legend, one of to best to ever do it, an artist I continue to admire and support to this day.

On that cold November day I was excited to have the chance to sit in a toasty studio room and watch Nas, and the late Producer Stretch (who was murdered right around this time) go to work. The track they were working on was ‘Silent Murder,’ (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQmPCJY3mA8) which would end up included on limited editions of It Was Written.

Several minutes after I arrived, Nas came out of the booth and sat with me. I had two gifts for him – a couple of books, which I gave him and which he immediately went through. One was called What They Never Told You In History Class by Indus Khamit Kush. After he went through them for a minute, Nas told me, ‘I got something in here for you, check this out.’

Nas then went back in the booth and continued to lay down lyrics, as I listened closely.

I noted Nas’ line, in the second verse: ‘They say the arms of Nicky Barnes would be enough to blast/ A lot of rich n—-s failed and started pumping gas/ Was it the mind of CIA that bumped off Malik Shabazz?/ F—k what they teach in class I’m a teach the mass.’

Nas gave me a knowing nod and smile. What he had done remained understood and unspoken. Although I had nothing to do with writing his lyrics, they were responsive to what I just showed him and on the level of the material we had been building about for the last couple of years – reflected in the two books I gave him as gifts.”

The other book I gave to Nas as a gift, that cold day in 1995, was Our Saviour Has Arrived by Elijah Muhammad.

I have not been in the same room as Nas since 1996 (when he, his manager at the time, Steve Stoute, myself and some of the members of Wu Tang Clan attended a birthday party for a stockbroker we knew). I share all of the above regarding our interaction because I want to make a point about Nas’ evolution and that of all of us. We go through stages of growth. We all learn in five ways: conversation, observation, reading, experience, and revelation/intuition. Experience is the most painful. Revelation/intuition is the quickest.

When Nas and I were building during that 1994-1995 time period we never discussed nonsense. We had fun but we discussed the most serious issues. And we discussed Africa. We knew what we knew about Africa primarily from books, documentaries, movies and speeches. Again, we were young and had not traveled to study Africa, in the physical sense. Yet, we traveled, mentally. I bear witness that Nas was already extremely concerned and interested about his people and their unity – in America and abroad, from the very first time I spoke with him in 1994. He already had it in his soul and mind to do powerful things that would connect people on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean. 16 years later he matches that concern not only with book knowledge, and a career that has given him the experience of traveling throughout the world, but with a new album that is impacting the world, and setting the stage for some even more powerful events.

For the past few days I’ve been involved in a heavy dialogue about ‘Distant Relatives’ with Zavara Mponjika from the WaPi movement and Karengera Eric Soul of the AFROGROOV movement. It’s been a three-continent, three-dimensional conversation critiquing the album, creatively and in terms of its potential influence, and what it lays the base for. Listening to the album is one thing, but discussing it with individuals from Africa, and the Diaspora (Europe, the United States, and the Caribbean etc…) takes the experience to another level. In this era of the Internet, social media, FaceBook, Twitter and Skype, this should be easier than ever to do.

Nas, to me, in terms of talent and knowledge, has now reached a stage of intellectual development and consciousness, as an artist, in the world of Hip-Hop culture and industry, that I believe only KRS-ONE has attained. The only difference and what may separate the two is that Nas has yet to do the kind of movement and coalition building that KRS accomplished, with the ‘Stop The Violence’ (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2bzU6YycLv0&feature=related ) Movement and H.E.A.L. (Human Education Against Lies: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yZBtdWtDCuw&feature=related).

As young as the Queens’ native still appears, he is now the conscience of this generation of artists and an elder statesmen with enough credibility to organize them and industry professionals, around causes, if he were to choose to do that. Perhaps in ‘Distant Relatives’ and how it solidifies his position in America and abroad he may have found his biggest ‘calling’ – the unity of artists and people, separated by history, oppression, cultural and ideological barriers.

Some may dismiss this possibility because of Nas’ laid back demeanor, because he is from New York, and now into his 30s (and probably with more older fans than younger ones), but that would only be because they are not looking at Nas’ ability to influence his younger peers for the better.

It may be his influence over the younger generation that ends up being Nas’ greatest accomplishment.

I rest my case with the ill verse of the supposedly non-conscious rapper Lil Wayne on the track ‘My Generation’ (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kMPgYMNc0FU&feature=related) off of the ‘Distant Relatives’ album:

If you weather that storm

Then that rain bring sun

Been a long time coming

I know change gone come

Man I gotta keep it movin to the beat of my drum

Last night I set the future at the feet of my son

But they thinkin that my generation gotta die young

If we all come together then they cant divide one

Don’t worry bout it, just be about it

Got a message from God heaven too crowded

But I say hey young world you’ve never looked better

And I heard change started with man in the mirror

This generation, Im’a represent

A generation led by a black president

Now how’s that for change?

Who knew that could change?

I don’t even look at the flag the same

So when you finish reading Revelations

Thank God for my generation

Some may find Lil Wayne’s verse confusing, in light of the image he projects and in terms of his expressed view of America, but I don’t. What I see in his lines and appearance on ‘Distant Relatives’ is a sign of his own growth and continued willingness to take risks (I love the fact he tried to do a rock album), and perhaps even deeper, his respect for Nas.

Who else could make Lil’ Wayne feel comfortable enough to spit lines that sound so strong they could appear on the ‘Self Destruction’ collaboration of over 20 years ago?

Case closed.

In terms of talent, mass appeal, consciousness, and the potential for social influence, Nas is now the most dangerous MC in the world.

Maybe we can now truly understand the refrain at the end of Nas’ ‘Memory Lane’ on the classic Illmatic album, ‘the most dangerous MC is….coming out of Queensbridge‘ : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ndtbyt0I-h4).

And even if we don’t realize it, J. Edgar Hoover – from the grave – still does.

AllHipHop Chartwatch: Nas Hits Charts With Distant Relatives!

ChartWatch for May 26, 2010

There aren’t a lot of new albums coming out this week but we do have a few Hip Hop artists entering the top fifty.  We lead off the charts this week with two influential artists in the worlds of Hip Hop and Reggae.  Nas and Damian Marley lead the countdown with their highly anticipated album Distant Relatives.  The duo sold 55,084 copies and now claims the number five spot.

They are followed by Usher whose latest album, Raymond Vs. Raymond, has sold another 41,264 and takes the number eight spot.  Is it just me or has every song on this album been released as a single?  I mean, I know it’s not that bad…but that’s a lot of singles, right?

B.o.B still holds strong at number fourteen with his debut album The Adventures of Bobby Ray.  This week the Atlanta MC sells 22,315 copies.

Nas and Damian Marley weren’t the only duo that dropped an album last week.   Brooklyn wordsmith and Cincinnati producer, Talib Kweli and Hi-Tek, also released Revolutions Per Minute roughly a decade after their classic debut Train of Thought.  This week the two artists, better known as Reflections Eternal, sell 19,080 copies and rest at the number 19 position.

Next up is another artist entering the charts for the first time this week.  Janelle Monae, the eclectic singer known recently for her working with Outkast’s Big Boi and P. Diddy, releases her latest album The ArchAndroid.  Janelle sells 17,751 copies and claims the 21st spot.

Then we have a group that is all too familiar with being on the charts.  The Black Eyed Peas continue to sell units of the hit album The E.N.D moving 17,399 copies and claiming the 23rd spot.

He was at the number 30 spot last week.  He is at the number 30 spot this week.  Ludacris holds strong and sells 12,797 copies of his latest album, Battle of the Sexes.

Finally, Lil Wayne moves another 8,907 copies of his rock album, The Rebirth, but drop a few positions to take the 47th spot.

Shoulda Been

This is usually where we talk about the album that dropped last week, should have made it on the charts, but just didn’t.  There isn’t too much to say because the two albums that definitely should have moved units sold (relatively) decently.  Congratulations to Nas, Damian Marley, Talib Kweli, and Hi-Tek and hopefully there isn’t a huge drop off next week.

Dropping This Week

The only thing I have for you this week is a compilation of Common’s greatest hits entitled Go!: Common Clasics.  Now if you’ve ever read this column then you know how I feel about compilations and greatest-hits albums.  If you’ve never experienced the artist (and just want to grab some quick singles) then pick one up, but you’re probably better off just picking one of the better albums out of the artist’s catalogue.  This compilation does have the classic Westside Connection diss “The B#### in Yoo” but it hardly gives you a glimpse into Common’s body of work.  Where is the introspective duet “Retrospect for Life” where Common grapples with whether or not to have his unborn child aborted while Lauryn Hill provides the melodic backdrop?  Where is the Bilal assisted “The 6th Sense?”  And even though this album doesn’t get the respect it deserves, where are any songs from the eclectic Electric Circus?  (You may hate the album but “Aquarius” was a hard hitting track).  If you want to listen to Common then go pick up Be or any one of Common’s eight other albums.  (Actually, you may want to start with Be and any albums before it.  You know, before Common met movies, one of the Williams girls, and Gap sweaters.)

That’s it for the charts this week.  See you next week.

IS FREEWAY NEXT TO BE SUED?

I  got a press release from Freeway Ricky Ross and he seems a bit upset over the rappers that have used or “profited” from his name. It sounds like he’s got an issue with Freeway in addition to Rick Ross, the Miami dude. Peep:

MAY 25, 2010 – Since his release from a life sentence in federal prison May 4, 2009, Ricky D. Ross a/k/a “Rick Ross”, the ex-drug kingpin from LA, has been preparing to go to war against all parties who profited off of his name unlawfully while he was in jail, without his consent, particularly William L. Roberts II, Def Jam, Universal and others. As the above-named parties gear up to release the 4th “Roberts as RICK ROSS” album titled “Teflon Don”, a storm is brewing in the real “Rick Ross” camp against the anticipated album imminent summer release. It’s no secret that the Boss at Freeway Enterprise. com is unhappy with how his name has been exploited and misused since he went to prison in 1995, and in 2006, the above-named parties signed Roberts to a big record deal and then spent, and made, millions off Ross’ name. Rick Ross protested the exploitation and misuse of his name from prison in 2006, by having a lawyer send letters to Def Jam to cease use, which they ignored.

The above-named parties branded Roberts as “RICK ROSS” and dominated use of the real Rick Ross’ name, created Roberts false drug dealer image and based it on Rick Ross’ real drug dealer image, in the Black, urban crime, and rap community. Roberts’ breakout hit (Everyday I’m) Hustlin was about him falsely being this rapper and drug dealer named “RICK ROSS”, and with the financial backing of the above-named parties, Roberts became a rap star, and Rick Ross got nothing. If Rick Ross was still in jail, the story would be over!

After reading the full rumor, it seems like “others” include Def Jam,  Universal and others. BUT you probably saw the video and the real Rick didn’t give Freeway a pass.

EPIC FAIL OF THE DAY

Peep this write up from the Associated Press. The “Hip-Hop Mayor” has failed us. I’m glad he even rejected that on. He’s fortunate for the five years though, because there are rumors of a stripper down in The A that could further make this a bad situation.

DETROIT – Former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick was sentenced to up to five years in prison Tuesday for violating the terms of his probation stemming from his conviction for lying under oath about an affair with his chief of staff.

Kilpatrick, 39, asked Judge David Groner to show him compassion during the hearing, but Groner said “that ship has sailed.”

Kilpatrick was led from the courtroom in handcuffs.

At issue is $1 million Kilpatrick was ordered to pay the city after pleading guilty in 2008 to obstruction of justice. Groner ruled last month that Kilpatrick failed to report all of his assets and meet other conditions of his probation.

On Tuesday, he ordered Kilpatrick to serve at least one-and-a-half years in prison, but credited him with 120 days of time served from his original sentence. Kilpatrick is still obligated to pay back the remaining balance of his debt to the city, but to do that he’ll have to find a new job after he’s freed. Shortly after the sentencing, Compuware Corp. said that Kilpatrick has being fired from his job as a medical software salesman for its Dallas-based subsidiary, Covisint.

He won’t do the whole five and he’ll write a magnificent book  after this blows over.

SIGNS THE WORLD IS COMING TO AN END

16-year-old twins stand accused of killing their mother! Peep the story from AJC.com!

Just days after Jarmecca “Nikki” Whitehead was killed, many of her friends had already fingered a suspect, or suspects.

Their suspicions were confirmed Friday when the Conyers beautician’s twin daughters, Tasmiyah and Jasmiyah, were arrested and charged with murder in their mother’s Jan. 14 death. Whitehead was found in a pool of blood, beaten and stabbed repeatedly. The twins will be tried as adults.

“I never thought they were capable of murder before she died,” said Whitehead’s friend and former boss, Michelle Temple. “Who would think that? But after she was murdered, I knew it was them.”

By all accounts, the 16-year-old girls had become difficult for their mother to handle. Once honor students and Girl Scouts, “Tas” and “Jas,” as they were known, continually pushed boundaries, breaking rules and acting out whenever discipline was imposed.

“The girls wanted to do what they wanted to do,” said Yucca Harris, Whitehead’s best friend.

Tas and Jas had moved back home just eight days before their mother’s death. They had been living with their elderly great-grandmother for about a year and a half following an incident in which they physically assaulted Whitehead, requiring police intervention, said Petrina Sims, owner of Simply Unique, a salon where Whitehead worked until her death.

Their great-grandmother thinks they did it too…dag on!

Suge Knight Accused Of Ordering Hit

(AllHipHop News) Marion “Suge” Knight is in legal trouble again, this time for allegedly ordering a hit on a man who he had an altercation with in Los Angeles. According to TMZ.com, legal documents were filed yesterday (May 24th) in Los Angeles Superior Court, where a judge ordered Knight to stay at least 100 yards away from the man. In court papers, the individual claimed that after Knight was released from jail on an assault charge last week, eight men came to his house last Friday (May 21st).  The goons were allegedly sent by Knight to “get me or kill” the man. The individual claims Knight himself said he was going to “take” his life. At press time, it is unclear if the man who filed the restraining order yesterday is the same individual Knight had an altercation with last Thursday (May 20th) in Los Angeles. In that incident, a man accused Knight of pointing a gun at him during the altercation. Knight was later stopped in his white Cadillac Escalade and charged with assault with a deadly weapon and driving with a suspended license. Knight has denied the gun charge.

Yukmouth Addresses Suge Knight Incident

(AllHipHop News) Rapper Yukmouth has come forward to discuss a recent altercation with former Death Row CEO, Marion “Suge” Knight. In March, Knight allegedly robbed Yukmouth of $92,000 worth of jewelry while they were talking in a Ralph’s supermarket in Woodland Hills. While police detective Jeff Briscoe noted that a robbery took place, Yukmouth claimed that Knight was not involved in the incident, which involved as many as ten men. “I can’t really go into details about it, because the situation is real delicate. All people need to know is  that Suge didn’t have anything to do with it.” Yukmouth stated. “Believe me, if I said a motherf**kers name, everyone would be locked up and you would see my name on court papers and also on the stand.”When Knight was arrested on May 20th, many speculated that he was being arrested in connection with the incident involving Yukmouth.Knight was eventually charged with pointing a gun at another man during an altercation in Los Angeles last week. He has since been released on $65,000 bail and maintained his innocence in a statement made through his lawyer, Marc Brumer told CNN.  “Suge Knight is a businessman. He is not a person who would carry a gun or flash a gun at anybody. That’s not Suge Knight,” Brumer stated. Yukmouth is preparing to release his brand new album Free At Last, which is due in stores on June 1st via the rapper’s own label, Smoke-A-Lot Records.
