Coolio Faces Three Years For Crack Charges

Coolio has been formally charged with felony drug possession and one count of misdemeanor possession of a smoking device, after authorities allegedly caught the rapper with crack cocaine.

The California-bred artist now faces three years in jail, if he receives the maximum penalty.

On Friday March 6, Coolio was entering LAX and a routine search allegedly uncovered crack cocaine on his body.

The rapper tried to prevent a screener from searching him, reports say. He was promptly arrested.

Coolio, 45, is expected to appear in court on April 3.

This is merely one of Coolio’s recent ill-fated episodes.

Last month, Coolio performed at Staffordshire University in Stoke-on-Trent, England. The rapper attempted to stage dive on the crowd and landed on one woman.

When he tumbled to the floor, the crowd proceeded to rob him of his belongings, including his shoes, bandanna and glasses.

Security was able to stop the robbery as it progressed and also recovered the artist’s shoes.

Coolio had been experiencing an upswing his entertainment career after appearing on the UK show “Big Brother.”

Somebody asked me if I worked for Slaughterhouse. Uhm…NO, but it sounds like a good job. See, I’m a fan of that group and the individual members. I’m an unashamed FAN. I’m a fan of a lot of artists out there so, cut out all your stupid comments about ME being on somebody’s “jock.” The fact is, you’re just a crappy fan!ILLSEED APOLOGIZES…I don’t say sorry MUCH, but this is one instance  where I have to say sorry.  BUT, I want to apologize to Keshia Chante, the singer and actor.  I’m not sure exactly what happened that night that Chris and Rihanna had their alleged fight. My sources put both  Tina  Davis and Keshia Chante in significant contact with Chris Brown that night through texts and cell phone. The  only  thing is, my sources leaned heavily towards Keshia being the super sex texter, not Tina Davis. With the recent revelations of the culprit more-than-likely being the  39-year-old manager Tina Davis being the “suspect,” I am going to say I was off by a hair. SORRY, KESHIA…whenever you need a “good look” from me, let me know.Now, off to the real deal!

50 CENT…According to Miss Info, 50 Cent is about to get crazy with it. He allegedly now has the other baby moms of Rick Ross. SMH. Check out the audio madness. He’s got something of the other baby moms, Brook. If you don’t remember, Brook is allegedly a call girl (a nice word for prostitute.) Man! What is the world is going on. I might as well reintegrate what I heard.

(Illseed.com Rumors) Is there a such thing as exclusive rumors? If there is, this is a doozie. One of my homeys gave me a doozie and let me know what 50 Cent might be up to to get at Rick Ross.

He told me that 50 Cent is planning to “expose” Rick Ross in ways that nobody imagined. How? My rumors charge that 50 Cent has now gotten jailed prisoners to go on record admitting and revealing that Rick Ross was their correctional officer.

The rumor is, 50 Cent has gotten in touch with exactly 34 inmates that have been “paid” for their time. They have reportedly been paid in commissary.

Now, I am not sure if this is regarded as snitching, since it has been verified over and over that Ross was a correctional officer. But, this is what is rumored to be going down.

Also, 50 Cent is supposedly about to take his “Pimpin’ Curly” character to the big screen. That’s right. I am getting word that 50 Cent is working with none other than Michael Bay, the director of “Transformers.”

It is pretty easy to tell that 50 Cent is going to be taking his acting career into new directions. And, he can thank Rick Ross and Pimpin’ Ken for inspiring him to make such a move.

HIP-HOP BEFORE THE BRONX?

There is this crazy story on AHH that you want to read unless you are a phony fan that claims you keep it real. Was there a Hip-Hop before it was “invented” in the Bronx? Read the story right here and read a very interesting response below. It is a very intriguing story to say the least.

Before the Bronx? There was no before the Bronx. I find it distasteful that these Queens Cats would try to s**t on us like that.

And by no means am I trying to say that we didn’t know who Infiniti Machine, Grand Master Flowers or The Disco Twins were cause we knew. We also knew they didn’t play Hi-Hop. They were Disc Jockeys who played Disco and R+B. They didn’t play Breaks, Kool Herc did that.

Flash learned to mix from Pete Jones but Pete didn’t play Hip Hop. He was a grown man, he frowned on that at first. Nobody cut records back and forth like Flash. Y’all need to stop! They had they own s**t too. They did not use disco twins You obviously never heard of The Hurculoid or The Gladiator or Sasquatch. You would hear these systems for blocks! If they needed extra s**t they got it from Ritchie T the owner of T.Connection in the Bronx, not the Disco Twins.

Just say you might of invented Disco or The Freak dance, we’ll give you that. But good old Hip-Hop was born in The Bronx Homie. I was there!

DR. DRE’S REAL DELAY?

I heard that the death of his song has really interrupted Dr. Dre’s work on Detox. Obviously, we know we have been waiting a very long time for the album, but I heard that his son’s untimely death really messed Doc up. Honestly, that’s a shame. For a parent to bury the child is not natural at all. Anyway, I think Eminem said that he helped Dre get back to work. I guess we’ll see something when Dre’s ready.

RICK ROSS’ CHAIN SNATCHED – OR DID IT?????

They flashed it so fast, I don’t know if its true or not. I know this, these men are claiming to have snatched Rick Ross’ chain and have what appears to be the Rick Ross head chain we see so often.

I don’t know…it looks different.I don’t know if you know, but Rick was right in NYC and he shot a video. My homeys  were there and they told me he had his chain. They shot this footage of it. Looks very 100  to me.

THE FEDS ARE ON TO FAKE A** LIL WAYNE!

There is another fake Lil Wayne dude running around! There is a guy named Walt out of Philly that is reportedly jerking people that want to see Lil Wayne. This guy is actually booking Wayne shows and faxing and emailing contracts, riders, and guaranteed performances from Wayne. He allegedly gets the promoters to send half the money up front and the other half the day of the fake show. The Feds are already on to this guy from what I hear and he will be getting indicted. I am proud to say there are a few fake illseed’s running around. I let them live though.

This crackpot reportedly doused her body with alcohol and then set her on fire. His poor granny, Ethel Henderson, ran from the house they shared as flames burned her head, face and upper body. A former firefighter saw her and extinguished the flames with his coat. He’s being treated and he’s being charged with attempted first-degree murder.

Saigon Crafts New Album In 24 Hours

Rapper Saigon has recorded a full-length album within 24 hours, a remarkably fast time even by Hip-Hop standards.

Amalgam Digital will distribute the digital-only opus, titled All In A Day’s Work.

“This album…is a bonafide Hip Hop classic created from beginning to end in 24 hours. It is a definitely a spark in the right direction for the resurgence of East Coast Hip Hop,” Saigon said in a statement. “We came together to present the world with the best album of the year 2009, aside from my debut of course, The Greatest Story Never Told which will soon follow.”

The album represents Saigon’s first release with Amalgam Digital and will feature the exclusive beats by Statik Selektah, a well-known producer in New York.

“Working with Saigon in those 24 hours and getting songs done so fast showed why he should be held as one of the greatest to ever do it,” Selektah said via statement.

The rapper didn’t reveal the day he recorded the album. Similarly, Amalgam didn’t release how they would verify the time lapse on the recording of the digital LP.Still Saigon remains signed to Just Blaze, the producer that crafted The Greatest Story Never Told with Saigon. “Saigon is not signed to Amalgam Digital, folks,” Just Blaze said via his twitter blog on March 7.

The March 17 release date for the album has offered an extraordinarily short window for promotion, a new technique for the fledgling label.

Amalgam Digital statement read, “The ground breaking project will compliment the forward thinking artist and pioneering new media outfit’s list of milestones as it is essentially the first time in Hip-Hop history a commercially viable product, bridges the gap between mixtape and studio album.”

Ironically, Saigon’s archrival Joe Budden has also released several projects on Amalgam, including a digital only album called The Halfway House.

In a recent interview, Joe Budden said he send Saigon a text message saying, “Congratulations” and, according to Budden, Saigon replied, “You starting your s**t again.” Budden said he was sincere and has announced that he is departing Amalgam.Saigon “All In A Day’s Work” Tracklisting:

Jim Jones Reprises Play On March 24th

Harlem, New York rapper Jim Jones will launch a five-day run of his critically acclaimed play Hip Hop Monologues.

 

Jones will perform in five different showings, which will take place March 24-28th at the 37 Arts Theater in New York.

 

Hip Hop Monologues, which is produced by Damon Dash, Sony Entertainment and J Kyle’s Korner Ent., originally debuted in November 2008.

 

The play featured Jones performing songs from his latest album Pray IV Reign in the form or a scripted story.

 

Hip Hop Monologues is an autobiographical telling of Jones’ life, which centers around his family, fame, fortune and jealous rivals.

 

After advice from an elder, Jones is faced with the decision of pursuing his career or returning to life on the streets.

 

During the play, Jones will be backed by a live band conducted by Om’Mas Keith of SA-RA, as well as a number of professional actors.

 

Tickets go on sale tomorrow (March 10). Prices start at $40.

TINA DAVIS’ SEX TEXT STARTED THE CHRIS BROWN / RIHANNA FIGHT?!?

According to TMZ, Tina Davis left Chris Brown a 3-page text that sparked the drama that his now the alleged beat down of Rihanna. Apparently, Tina and Chris were trying to “hook up” later that night in February. The thing is, this gels into rumors that I deliberately avoided…that Tina and Chris have been boning since he was a 16-year-old teen. Tina is about to turn 40. I think I just threw up a little bit in my esophagus. UgH. Um…Yeah. In my report, Tina Davis was definitely among the people that Chris had texted that night, but I had no idea. The detective’s affidavit considers the text message as being “from a woman who Brown had a previous sexual relationship with.” OWWWWWWWWWW….

Juicy J, DJ Paul Prep New Solo Albums, Tour

Three 6 Mafia members Juicy J and DJ Paul are set to release two new solo albums within a month of each other.

 

J’s new project, Hustle Till I Die, is slated to feature Three 6’s trademark production sound, and serve as a follow-up to 2002’s Chronicles of the Juice Man.

 

According to Juicy J’s promotion team, the album will give listeners “something to ride out to.”

 

The first single is “30 Inches,” a dedication track to the rapper’s favorite car, with the vehicle personified as a woman.

 

The production features a looped sample of the soulful, 1976 O’Jays track “Darlin’ Darlin’ Baby.”

 

DJ Paul is also putting the finishing touches on his solo effort, titled Scale-A-Ton.

 

In a recent Youtube clip, Paul confirmed that his brother Lord Infamous is still a member of Three 6 and will contribute to his upcoming LP.

 

“He helped build Three 6 Mafia, and create Three 6 Mafia,” Paul explained. “Lord was just going through some things, and he had to get that together. We got it together now. We’re going to be back in the lab working.”

 

Currently, work is being done to finalize a promotional tour aptly titled the “Keep It Hood Tour.”

 

In addition to Three 6, the tour is slated to feature Project Pat and Lil Wyte.

 

At press time, DJ Paul’s Scale-A-Ton will be released on May 5, and Juicy J’s Hustle Till I Die on June 2.

Shootout Erupts at Beanie Sigel Birthday

What was supposed to be a celebration of Beanie Sigel’s 35th birthday turned into a near deadly shooting that left one man critically injured.

 

On Saturday (March 7), Sigel (Dwight Grant) held his party in Penn’s Landing at Club Solo.

 

The event drew nearly 600 partygoers, and according to Philadelphia authorities Sigel’s mother handled admission duties at the club’s entrance.

 

Because of the Philly emcee’s previous criminal record, officials from the Department of Licenses/Inspections and the Pennsylvania State Police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement conducted a venue safety search at 10PM.

 

The shooting occurred later that evening at 1:35AM, when 24 year old Tyheem Baker of Camden, New Jersey was shot in the chest after coming out of Club Solo’s bathroom stall.

 

The shooting reportedly followed an argument the victim had with two unidentified men. Baker is currently listed in stable condition.

 

According to Sigel attorney Fortunato Perri Jr, his client was performing on stage at the time of the crime, and has no knowledge of the shooting or the perpetrators.

 

At press time, the venue is being investigated for its adherence to proper weapon searches and carding of patrons.

 

Last March, Sigel was sentenced to three months in prison for a third probation violation. The conviction was handed down following Sigel’s positive testing for illegal drugs.

 

Per an agreement with the courts, Sigel underwent drug treatment in order to maintain a 12-month supervised release.

 

At press time, Beanie Sigel could not be reached for comment.

Game Review: Street Fighter IV

It’s been nearly twelve years since Street Fighter III. After two subsequent installments and die-hard Street Fighter fans questioning Capcom about the next title, the company finally decided it was about time to give us what we wanted. Despite the fact that it took a decade for us to get our hands on the latest entrant in the series, Street Fighter IV, it was certainly worth the wait.

 

SFIV essentially takes the series back to its roots. While Street Fighter III was a critically acclaimed title, it has a much steeper learning cure than any other game in the series. SFIV was more of a progression towards the older mechanics of the first two games rather than the third.

 

Gone are the Super Arts, parries, and stun gauge; while these don’t make a return, some aspects return from SFIII, including EX attacks, throws being performed with the light attack buttons, and the quick dash. With some of these features absent, SFIV garners more of a classic feel. It’s essentially a new-school fighter with an old-school twist.

 

 

SFIV is much more easily accessible to new players or old players who haven’t played in years but want to pick the game back up. The move lists of the twelve original characters are historically preserved, and the four new characters fit perfectly in the fray. The addition of EX moves and focus attacks really deepen the learning curve of the game.

 

The graphics are visually stunning. Paying homage to Street Fighter EX, Capcom decided to follow a more hand-drawn cell-shaded art style this time around. Calligraphy brush effects trail various characters moves and beautiful explosions erupt from various special moves.

The graphics are meticulous, even down to the character’s facial expressions, showing rage and concentration when initiating a super or ultra move, and surprise and urgency when they are on the receiving end. Details on muscles, distressed clothing, and even spectators in the background really bring the game to life.

 

The character’s various stories are told through in-game cinematic sequences; a first for the series. They definitely provide some background in terms of letting players know why their characters are fighting their rivals. There are anime sequences at the beginning and end of the game. While they may sometimes explain what’s going on story-wise, they really fall short for the most part.

 

This is one of the very few areas that it seems like Capcom dropped the ball.

Even the subtle sounds of the game enhance the experience. Cheers from children, gun shots from troops, and environmental effects are all showcased. The characters grunts and voice acting are spot-on. The game even gives players the option to have Japanese or English voices for those that may want to take their gaming experience even further.

 

 

There are plenty of things to accomplish, so those medal hunters and enthusiasts that seek 100% completion on their games will never run out of things to earn. Additional colors and taunts are available through completing various trials and challenge modes. The replay value of the game really soars when you think about finishing every single trial for the game’s twenty five characters.

 

The introduction of online play is great for players that are looking for genuine competition. The only downfall in this area is that some players have slower connections, inevitably slowing down the gameplay. Ranked play is available for more serious players, and player matches are available for players just looking for casual matches.

 

Street Fighter IV is definitely a strong entrant in the series. Whether seasoned veteran or newbie, the game offers something for everyone. It’s too bad we’ll probably have to wait until 2019 to see Street Fighter V.

Cesar Comanche Takes a Cue from Shakespeare for New Album

North Carolina-based rapper Cesar Comanche is drawing inspiration from a different source regarding his latest album, Die In Your Lap.

 

According to the entertainer, the motivation for the release is more literary than musical as he referenced legendary playwright William Shakespeare’s classic play Much Ado About Nothing.

 

“The theme of it is the title actually. It’s Die In Your Lap. That’s a Shakespeare quote. The Shakespeare quote actually means having an orgasm,” Comanche told AllHipHop.com, adding that “die in your lap” should not be taken in a “literal sense” as he decided to use the phrase as a release to describe happenings over the past few years.

 

“It’s me actually going through the last decade, for the most part of my life, and exercising all those demons on record,” the Justus League affiliate said. “In that process of making that record and you listening to that record, it’s me exercising all those demons and that’s providing my release.

 

The release of Die In Your Lap comes three years after Comanche’s last offering, 2006’s Wooden Nickels Revisited.

 

The rapper is known for being a member of the Justus League rap crew, alongside Little Brother, the Away Team, 9th Wonder, L.E.G.A.C.Y., Chaundon, Khrysis, Median and Joe Scudda.

 

Die In Your Lap was originally slated to hit stores between late 2007 and the beginning of 2008, but was delayed when Comanche’s recording home at the time, Beathut Records, transitioned to a digital format.

 

While the Die In Your Lap’s delay could’ve resulted in a complete reworking of the album, Comanche admitted that the sound of the project was “the exact vision I had from when I was first thinking about making that album.”

 

“What it did is it made me be able to become more creative on how I actually put all of that together as far as transitions and exactly how I wanted things to begin and end and different things of that nature.”

 

For Die In Your Lap, Comanche recruited Khrysis and 9th Wonder to provide beats.

 

In addition, the album features producers such as Science Omega, Lord Quest, Apple Juice Kid, Marvelous Beats and Comanche himself.

 

Cesar Comanche’s Die In Your Lap, which features the lead single “Hands High,” is in stores now.

But I was told that Usher did that on his own. Who knows. The report also says that Chris Brown is a man enraged and said “I’m going to see you b****es.” What his Chris now TUPAC? I don’t know that I believe this, but I didn’t think a lot of things. Just as an FYI, Usher’s PR person said he wasn’t forced into anything either. Usher’s a boss!

Looks like the Biggie moves has sparked a trend. N.W.A. are set to be immortalized on the big screen in a major movie, I’m hearing. Rapper John Forte is putting his newfound freedom to good use as a new teacher with The City College of New York.

Staring on March 31, Forte will work with In Arms Reach, a program designed to provide a positive environment for at-risk youth and children of incarcerated parents.

Forte will teach a twelve-week course geared towards students aged 12-15. He will use music as a therapeutic means to address stress, anger and pain.

“John hopes that the catharsis of song composition will help children deal with the stigma of having a family member who is incarcerated and rebuild the spirit of those who have been traumatized or abandoned,” a representative for Forte told AllHipHop.com about the course.

The rapper will be talking to students from a point of experience, as he was recently released from federal prison, after serving almost have of a 14-year sentence, after he was found guilty of possessing 31 pounds of liquid cocaine.

Just wanna start off by sayin I love your work, keep it up. I just wanted to give some detail to the Joe Budden show in Boston. Aside from the opening acts that was one of the best hip-hop shows that I have been to in a while. The crowd was with Joe 100% and he managed to do his thing even with issues with the sound…..now to the “drama”. Before Joe came out there we some dudes from other groups tryin to hype the crowd and in the words of Joe, “making me look bad” causing him to come out earlier than he wanted to. The crowd lost it when he came out and he meant business. After daping up his fans Joe made it clear that he meant business and wanted anyone who was with him to “get the f### off the stage” cause he wanted to get right into it without distractions. Apparently some folks felt they belonged on stage for whatever reason and someone on stage even said f### Joe Budden. Joe was calm and said that cool just for whoever said it to come forward if they meant it…….no one did and they did eventually clear the stage. Thats when Joe mentioned being good with his hands. So just so you and everyone else knows Joe didn’t disrespect Boston or anywhere in Mass, some dudes just got sonned and are a little salty about it.

BEWARE! SCAM ARTIST PRETENDING TO BE DOWN WITH LIL WAYNE

I am the owner of a record label down south, and I also rap on the label. I’m not going to mention anything in this e-mail because I don’t want it to look like I’m trying to get my 15 seconds from you, but there is this guy by the name of Jamal Elkhatib. He lives in Atlanta Georgia 30314 with an e-mail address of [email protected]. Now I’m giving you this information because this is the information that was given to me by him.

See, this guy contacted one of my engineers through myspace with an add saying that he was part of the promotional team for Young Money/Cash Money. He said he wanted to bring my producer (who isn’t actually on any one of the songs) to Lil Waynes show in Conneticut so he can promote himself for three days, and even perform on the 18th of March.

My engineer, manager, and I all made a scrunched face and looked at each other with the “F’ck No, Sh’t No” speech. We looked at his myspace which said he (lil waynes promoter) had 17 friends. He also had all the google pictures from Lil Wayne up on his page… but there was no picture of him… him and Lil Wayne smiling at the camera… him kissing Lil Waynes daddy after Lil Wayne (joke, I’m a Wayne fan) or anything. Just google pictures. We checked for the name he first told us he was “Damarcus Simmons” on google and the Cash Money/Young Money sites… nothing to be found, but I googled Jamal Elkhatib and some actor came up. Now we all knew it was a fake, but we called him anyway to get all the info we can so that we can put people on alert. The music business down here is very shady and I try to look out for all other underground artist… even the select few that I wouldn’t deal with musically. I jumped on my engineer’s myspace account and gave him my manager’s number and he called us in less than 20 seconds.

illseed, the offer was for him to provide my engineer with 6 tickets to fly to Conneticut, all expenses paid for the plane ride, hotel rooms, food, and travel… now I’m not a priceline negotiator, but I’m sure I couldn’t put together anything lie this for less than 6 stacks. This guy wanted us to send him a 400 dollar payment for the package.

We acted like we were going send him the money and that’s how we got all his information with his real name (because he wanted us to send it all western union and they require accurate identification in order to recieve payment.

Like I said earlier, I don’t want any kind of recognition for this, I just know better than this and I know there’s a lot of people out there who don’t know any better though. Talking to some people about this, I found out he did this as another Myspace account user a while ago, so apparently, he’s getting paid off of it. I’m definately the wrong person to give an address to when you trying to dupe me and my label (that’s as far as I’ll go on that one). I also saved his account as a friend on my myspace account and he deleted his profile after a couple of more days (this just happened this past Thursday)

Who murders a 13-year-old girl out jogging? Police say: Anthony Kirkland. This guy is a piece of work, the police say. But, somehow this dude snapped or something. When the police caught him, he was in the woods close to the badly burned 13-year-old body of Esme Kenney somewhere in the Cincinnati region. But dude went on an assault press starting March 1 and it was like he was shopping for violent acts. Police say he held a knife to the mother of his child as his 3-year-old son watched. He threatened to slit her throat. On the first of the month, Kirkland allegedly stabbed a man repeatedly with scissors. The man he stabbed left town in fear. When his son was 18-months, he allegedly put a knife to his kid’s throat. A few years ago, he “exposed” himself to another 13 year old and was arrested for not reporting himself as a sex offender. Last, but not least, he was convicted of setting a fire that killed a person 22 years ago. It took the violent death of a 13 year old for cops to get it right.
