Prior to the release of Slaughterhouse’s Shady Records debut, welcome to: OUR HOUSE, the gang, which includes Joell Ortiz, Joe Budden, Royce Da 5’9″, and Crooked I, will be teaming up with DJ Drama for a Gangsta Grillz mixtape in the form of On the House.
Rumors about the mixtape have been floating around for quite a while; however, the group has officially released a short video teaser of them recording one of the project’s tracks yesterday, and today revealing the cover art. Although no official date has been provided for On the House, it is expected to drop within the next two weeks.
Mac Miller revealed recently to MTV during one of the final stops on his “Under the Influence of Music Tour” with Wiz Khalifa that he is relatively far in the recording process for his sophomore album. “I’m hoping to get it out early next year. I have, like, 22 records that could be on an album right now,” he said.
He continued, “Obviously, I can’t make it that long, because [of] the youth and their A.D.D. problem. I am so excited about that. I think that I’m really onto something with this next album, and I think I’m really creating an album that expresses more of where I’m at right now mentally.”
Regarding his #1 chart-topping debut, Mac Miller remarked, “Making history was awesome; I don’t care about that with this album. I don’t care if we go #1; I don’t care about selling records. That sh*t is awesome, but this album, I just need to do something different. It’s gonna be awesome, and it’s gonna be a trip into my head.”
