J French Releases Visual “Able,” With a Standout Appearance by Demetrius Shipp Sr

J French’s new single “Able” is a sharp reminder of what happens when clarity meets purpose.

Oklahoma City native and multi-hyphenate artist J French returns with his latest single and video “Able,” a bold statement of perseverance, clarity, and purpose. The record reflects French’s journey of self-mastery and faith, themes that continue to define his music and creative direction.

“‘Able’ came from a place of clarity,” says French. “I wanted to create something that reminded people that everything they need to win is already inside them. The song and video show what happens when you stop doubting yourself and start moving with purpose.”

The song and visual was directed by J French, and features musician Demetrius Shipp Sr. a legendary producer and engineer, that is known for his work on 2Pac’s “Toss It Up” and numerous hits for B2K, Omarion, Bobby Brown, Teddy Riley, and early Kendrick Lamar and Ab-Soul records. He’s also the father of Demetrius Shipp Jr, who portrayed Tupac Shakur in the film, All Eyez on Me

The visual mirrors the tone of the record with grounded, clean, and cinematic storytelling, capturing French’s message that resilience and belief are daily choices that define true strength.

Some might know French, for his previous single “Solo,” which became an NBA arena favorite and the official closing track of the league’s YouTube series Pass the Rock, which highlights rising basketball talent and the culture surrounding the game.

With “Able,” J French continues to evolve as an artist committed to music with meaning. “It is not about being perfect. It is about showing up and being ready in mind, body, and spirit. That is what makes you able.”
