(AllHipHop News) Iconic Peanuts cartoon character Charlie Brown has officially become a rapper. ABC is running commercials featuring Charlie Brown rapping to a Hip-Hop beat promoting the special, “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.” During the commercial, “Charlie B. and the Peanuts Posse” raps: “Raking leaves and rolling on a pumpkin/Trick or treat then get the party pumpin.” “We just thought it was a great opportunity to really kind of do something different,” Marla Provencio said. “We’ve had this franchise for a long, long time…How many times can you do the traditional straightforward sell?” The updated commercial for the special, which was released in 1966, is part of an update the Peanuts franchise. “We opted to do something that was relevant for our time, that would maybe bring in a whole different audience and would be just attention-getting,” Provencio said. “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” airs tonight (October 29th) at 8:00 PM on ABC.Young Money rapper Lil Twist will release his new mixtape The Takeover: Carte Blanche Edition, on October 29th, 2010. Starting at midnight, fans of Lil Twist will be able to download the mixtape for free, via Lil Twist’s official website, www.liltwistthetakeover.com. The first single from the mixtape is titled “Wind It (Shut the Club Down),” which was produced by K.E. Ebro Darden has been named Vice President of Programming for Emmis NY, making the executive responsible for the programming of three stations, including Hot 97, 98.7 Kiss FM and 101.9 RXP.
