Rapper Soulja Boy is riding the wave of success created by his hit single “Crank That (Soulja Boy),” which is the #1 Mastertone in the country on AT&T, Verizon and Sprint, as well as the #1 single on the Billboard Hot 100 and Digital singles chart. The single has sold over 600,000 ringtones, 186,000 of them last week. “It feels good to be #1,” Soulja Boy said of his self-produced smash single. “Now I’m ready to make the album do the same thing.” Soulja Boy Tell’em, 17, is preparing to release his debut album souljaboytellem.com on October 2, through Atlanta mogul/producer Mr. Collipark’s Collipark Music, which is distributed by Interscope Records. “From the day Mr. Collipark introduced me to Soulja Boy Tell’em, I knew we had someone and something special,” added Interscope A&R rep DJ Mormile. Kim “Baby” Girl Wash, a former member of West Coast bad girl group Hoez With Attitudes, seeks more than $12 million dollars in damages from the owners of a concert hall in Dolton, IL. According to Chicago area newspaper The Daily Southtown, Wash and her husband Tony filed the lawsuit claiming they were defrauded by the owners of the Dolton’s Jo Rive Center, because of the raw sewage that seeps through the toilets and sinks, leaving employees, patrons and performers to complain about the stench. The Washes claim they gave George and Robert Michael $200,000 to lease the venue, which was supposed to be ready by October 1 of 2004. The venue was not complete and the Wash’s had to cancel and refund artists that had been booked for fall of 2004. The lawsuit claims that the Wash’s sunk $600,000 of their own money into renovations and the hall still didn’t open until September 2005. According to the lawsuit, R&B/Hip-Hop singer Mary J. Blige canceled her concert after she made a personal appearance at the venue. The Wash’s are also being sued for $600,000 in back rent.

Redman will kick off the “Red Gone Wild” tour with opening act Kidz in the Hall. Rapper’s Naledge and Double 0 will join the world reknowned rapper on a 21-date tour of the mid-west and west coast. The tour, which kicks off September 17 in Ann Arbor, Michigan, will hit cities like Chicago, Aspen and Seattle, before winding down on October 12 at the Sunshine Theater in Albequerqe, New Mexico. Kidz in the Hall will perform solo dates at the University of Miami tonight (September 6) and the University of Dayton tomorrow (September 7).
