Azealia Banks was reportedly arrested when she got into a physical altercation with a pair of bouncers at a Manhattan nightclub Wednesday morning.
The Queen rapper was arrested after an alleged attack on female security.
The incident allegedly occurred because Banks didn’t have a hand stamp at a private party around 12:30 am Wednesday morning at Up & Down nightclub. The party was invite-only.
“It was an invite-only party,” the source told the New York Post. “You needed a stamp to get in.” The bouncers reportedly didn’t know who Banks was and that the artist started “screaming at the top of her lungs, cursing about who she was and that she was on Rihanna’s album.”
Azealia Banks then allegedly spit in the [female bouncer’s] face” and then began “biting the same woman in the boob, almost ripping her shirt.”
After she was removed, Banks said she was going to call the police. Reports say she then punched the bouncer in front of the police, later asking “”Why are you arresting me?”
Banks faces a misdemeanor charge of third-degree assault, according to reports.
The rap singer has yet to comment on the allegations.
