A woman who publicly accused Bill Cosby of sexually assault is reportedly now slapping him with a defamation lawsuit for calling her a liar after she made allegations against him.
Tamara Green says after she spoke out about the attack in 2005, Cosby’s lawyer and publicist slandered her name and tried to make her look like a liar. However, Cosby is the lawsuit’s only defendant. Green says that she hopes that filing a lawsuit in federal court will help unveil the truth about what she says Cosby did to her.
“So this will give me and other women … a chance to go to a forum where we will speak our stories and tell our truth,” she said during a news conference in Washington D.C. on Wednesday (Dec. 10). “And the most important thing is that Bill Cosby will be required to appear in court and to speak, and he will finally be heard.”
Green said she met Cosby in either 1969 or 1970 through a mutual friend and that he asked her to raise money through investors for a club he wanted to open. She said after she told him she did not feel good one day, Cosby invited her to have lunch and then gave her red and gray pills that he told her was medicine. She says the pills made her weak and dizzy and that Cosby then took her to her apartment and sexually assaulted her. In an interview with the Today show back in 2005, Green said that Cosby petted, kissed and groped her, but during an interview with MailOnline in November she said Cosby “digitally penetrated” her.
Cosby is currently under investigation by the LAPD due to a woman, Judy Huth, alleging that he sexually assaulted her at the Playboy Mansion in 1977 when she was 15-years-old.
