Texas legend Bun B and Phoenix Suns center Shaquille O’Neal will join forces today (July 19) to bring some much needed assistance to the Houston community.
The two superstars, in concert with the Church at Bethel’s Family Mission and Feed the Children, Inc. will deliver 20,000 lbs of food to 400 families in need during a special appearance.
The event will kick off at 10am at the Church at Bethel’s Family, located at 14442 Fonmeadow Drive in Houston.
In addition to having the opportunity to meet and interact with Shaq and the Port Arthur pioneer, attendees will be treated to a free cookout, courtesy of the Church’s pastor, Walter August, Jr.
The food will be provided by Feed The Children, a Christian, international relief organization based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
The non-profit delivers food, medicine, clothing and other necessities to families left in need of the basic essentials due to various natural and cultural forces.
In the U.S., the organizations works hand in hand with corporate partners, who provide surplus food and other supplies, and with individuals who help cover the costs of transporting and distributing the food.
Feed The Children packages bulk and individual distribution boxes, working through six regional distribution centers and over 50,000 feeding centers, homeless shelters, churches and other organizations to get the food out to the massed.
