(AllHipHop News) The biggest fireworks to take place on the 4th of July this year was the announcement that former league MVP Kevin Durant is joining the Golden State Warriors next season. The decision was met with some criticism, most notably from ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith.
However, one Hip Hop representative is defending Durant’s choice to part ways with the Oklahoma City Thunder and team up with the franchise that has made it to the NBA Finals the last two years. Mississippi’s David Banner took to Twitter to share his opinion on the most talked about free agency acquisition since LeBron James took his talents to South Beach.
“These white owned teams buy and trade Black men like cattle. As soon as we do what is best for us we are called cowards? Congrats [Kevin Durant],” wrote Banner in one tweet.

Players get traded without even knowing. That’s ok because we are use to being up rooted? Be proud of a Black Man when he wields his power.

I know there are bigger things to talk about but @kdtrey5 is one of the kindest guys I ever met. https://t.co/rjT4JmSzne

Not one person has said anything about the team for going after him. It’s easy to criticize what’s closest to you.

But I am done. We are just consumers anyway. Let’s talk about getting our own league then I’ll argue.

Again I could care less about a game. I do care about the public emasculation of a kind person.

We act like just because a person has money that they don’t have feelings. Our parents and love ones see all that hate.
