(AllHipHop News) Katie Couric may not be the first name that comes to mind when thinking about a journalist covering rap music, but the current Yahoo! Global News Anchor did conduct a classic interview with Lil Wayne in 2013.
Recently, Couric sat down with another Southern Hip Hop figure. Miami’s DJ Khaled joined the former Today show host for an interview.
The Q&A featured Khaled discussing his latest album Major Key, taking part in Beyoncé’s “Formation Tour,” being managed by Jay Z, and his place in the entertainment world.
“On the music tip, I’m probably one of the greatest music men ever,” Khaled declared. “I don’t want to sound cocky, but I’m one of the greatest.”
The We The Best head went on to talk about his roles as a deejay, producer and record company CEO. In addition, Khaled was asked about Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.
“The key is to stay away from They,” said Khaled. “They are the people… They don’t want you to win. They don’t want you to progress. They don’t want you to prosper.”
He added, “They also come in different disguises too. They can actually come hug you and show you love, but be behind scenes really wanting to finish you.”
DJ Khaled made it clear he would not be voting for Trump. He endorsed Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.
