Mel B publicly showed her support after her child with Eddie Murphy updated his Instagram bio to reflect his identity as a transgender man.
The 18-year-old, previously known as Angel, quietly changed his pronouns on social media, signaling his transition. The update was made on Instagram, where he now identifies as male.
According to a report from MailOnline, both Mel B and Eddie Murphy are standing behind their son during this personal milestone.
The former Spice Girl, who turned 50 over the weekend, has not issued a public statement about the change but recently posted a heartfelt message celebrating her child’s 18th birthday.

“Happy birthday to my Angel. I cannot believe you are 18. You are so special and so bright and so talented! I couldn’t be prouder of watching you grow and become the person you are, but you’ll forever be my baby,” she wrote. “I hope you keep chasing your dreams and be kind to everyone around you like you always have been, my Angel.”
Mel B, born Melanie Brown, shares three children with three different partners.
Her eldest, Phoenix, is from her marriage to dancer Jimmy Gulzar. Her youngest, Madison, is from her second marriage to producer Stephen Belafonte.
Angel, her middle child, was born during a brief relationship with Eddie Murphy that ended in a widely publicized paternity dispute. The matter was resolved in 2009 with a financial support agreement.
Murphy, who initially denied paternity, later acknowledged Angel as his daughter after a DNA test.
